During my first visit, I was told I had 3 cavities and was strongly encouraged to schedule fillings for the very next day. This immediately raised concerns as I've only had one cavity in 30 years and have always kept up with regular cleanings. I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist who confirmed there were absolutely no cavities or even areas of concern. While the office itself is clean and modern, and the front desk staff and hygienists were friendly, I would urge anyone visiting this practice to be cautious and consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to any treatment.

I had never heard of this and I had certainly exeperienced ZERO symptons. They refused to perfom a normal cleaning. I drove directly to another dentist (who naturally for any new patient does every conceivable XRay and photograph of the patient's mouth.) I told them nothing of the experience 20 minutes earlier, to avoid them potentially getting on the band wagon and continuing the ruse! The Hygenist completed the cleaning and complimented me on the state of my gums and I then mentioned the earlier experience and she just shook her head and said it was clearly a money making issue. My wife also had work done a few months back and had a few crowns fitted. At that time she complained about tooth ache on a crowned tooth which the dentist stated would disappear after a while. Needless to say, she had to return and they had to perfom a root canal under the crowned tooth; double the time and definitley more expensive. There's no doubt this needed to be done before the crown was fitted. After these expereinces, I wouldn't recommend anyone to the practice.

His office is located in an area with many other establishments and has plenty of parking. Their office is always clean and their staff are always friendly. I had scheduled the appointment in advance and was assured that all required records and x-rays had been provided to their office. On the day of my visit, I was informed that the x-rays had not been received and would need to be performed in order to proceed with a cleaning. Although I declined the x-rays, they were performed anyways and I was billed. I contacted the office multiple times over a 30-day period to address this issue. Each time, staff claimed they had spoken with Katrina, the manager, yet I never received a response directly from her. I would not recommend this office due to over-billing, poor communication, and a lack of patient-centric care. I suggest looking elsewhere for your dental needs.

The last dental assistant I had was so rude and aggressive. I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life at a dr visit as I did that day. Pearl has really gone down hill. Every appointment came with a dramatic prediction: my bite was on the verge of catastrophe, a hairline fracture was potentially forming, major work was always just around the corner. Funny enough, the next visit would roll around and those "urgent" problems mysteriously disappeared--replaced by a brand-new list of expensive concerns. After I left Pearl I went to two different dentists who are highly respected in Charlotte and they saw none of the "issues" that Pearl made up. Ironically, the only cavity I've ever had filled was by Dr. Jenny herself--and she snapped at me during the appointment. If that's how she treats patients, I can only wonder what it's like to work there. Billing is also a nightmare. At every single appointment, they said my insurance covered everything, then I'd get a monthly text with an unpaid balance of several hundred dollars. I'd call the office, they said it's a mistake, and then I would get the text again a few weeks later. They are either trying to scam patients or they're incompetent at billing insurance. The cherry on top is how they try to brand their offices as "upscale" but it looks like they just Googled "luxury dental office" 15 years ago. The dirty white leather couches are more of a waiting room in a low-budget medical spa. I am appalled I went to Pearl for so many years. When I finally switched to a dentist I actually love, they told me they've heard the same story about Pearl countless times. Consider yourself warned.
