My tachometer on my Yamaha boat was throwing an error that I needed an O2 sensor, I replaced it and was getting a different error and could not clear it. Made an appointment with Mike the service manager. Day of appointment it was raining and Mike let me bring it the following day. Then stated they don't sell parts for my boat and I could have never bought a part from this business because they don't sell them and there was no more he can help me with (I've been here before for parts on my stern drive). I bought a Tige Z1 in 2023. Not sure if there was an ownership or management change since then, but the service I received on my Tige was a total rip-off. I asked for an annual service which involves replacing impeller and changing the oil and transmission fluid. This cost over $1,000 which I think is high, but maybe could live with. However, I asked them to add fuel stabilizer and check the batteries as well. They charged $105 labor to pour a $15 pint of fuel stabilizer in the tank and another $105 to check the load on the batteries (5 minute job). I really don't trust these guys any more and won't be going there ever again. read more

Honeymoon is over. You have a choice on where you purchase a boat and make this large of an investment. Long story short- my 2 year old Yamaha boat has been out of service for over 6 months because of poor service and communication at WCB center. They returned it with unplugged impeller clean outs that blew under pressure under acceleration on the Sacramento River endangering the lives of me and my kids as our boat was taken down current with the engines shut down. Little to no sympathy was expressed by their incompetence and the only thing offered was the parts that broke, which I now have to replace myself. I wrote a letter to the owner, Scott Vanderbeek, that has went un-answered for over a week now. I met Kevin to pick up these parts and he said he was going to meet with Scott to work out a resolution. Empty promises again. I can't explain what I went through over the last six months at West Coast Boat Center with my Yamaha in the short text this review will allow. BEFORE YOU BUY ANY BOAT FROM WEST COAST BOAT CENTER or any car or truck from WOODLAND MOTORS ask around. There are better deals from dealers who will actually be there when something happens. Who will actually just do the simple courtesy of calling you back. I was a raving fan and endorsed them prior. Well, they are the new malibu dealer and I was happy since tommys was terrible compared to larson marine. anyway I took my 2022 Malibu in as it was not filling up the rear ballast individually and the computer was not emptying the bags in which I called West Coast both Center and they explained how to do a computer reset which I did and I was able to get the ball emptied, but they still were not filling individually. I made an appointment and took my Boat in and the SERVICE guy who I believe worked at Tommys at one point told me I would have to pay for the update including the oil change which I understand paying for the oil change but not the update. I called Malibu boats and they confirmed exactly what I had thought. I had a Tige years ago I thought they were a great dealer.. not sure whats changed but here is the vm from Malibu. Careful of them trying to nickle and dime you. Malibu also sent me email confirming I didnt need to pay. needless to say they still charge me $100 extra for checking my boat straps because one of them is not disengaging and I'll bet you anything. Malibu says that is covered as well. Charges money to check to see if ratchet works or not? I sure hope to get a new dealer or I'm moving to Centurion. read more

Had some money to spend on a boat and was ready to buy. Excited and enthusiastic. We came in to this shop and we were completely ignored. Even when we feel like we literally forced the salesman to acknowledge our presence in the store - he looked at us like we were crazy. He had been helping someone else, but no one else was in the store waiting besides us. I have no idea why we weren't at least told something like "hey we are busy - we see you there - and we will be with you shortly... " but he said nothing. The whole thing was very off putting. Went elsewhere and spent our money on a boat where we were helped right away. Wouldn't recommend. Looks like several other people had the same issues. Had our '07 Tige serviced there for the first time as West Coast Boat Center. We've been a regular customer of the previous owner San Ramon Boats for over 15 years and have always been very happy. We bought a 2020 Cobalt R5 from Greg late season 2019 and love it! Greg and Jim were great throughout the sales process from the showroom to Lake Tahoe delivery and training for us. On the service side, Tyler helped out on the lake last year and again this year with a warrantee issue coordinated by Kevin. The team has been great considering all the service calls they get. Tyler has been awesome! I am so happy he is there on the lake. This business has the worst after sales customer service that I have ever experienced. I have had nothing but problems from the first day that I towed the boat and trailer home. This has been going on for over 2 years. Unbalanced trailer with not enough tongue weight causing the boat and trailer to fishtail when towing. They got their money but don't care about the customer after the sale. I stopped taking the boat out well over 18 months ago because of safety concerns. They finally picked the boat up and took it back to the dealership and experienced the same problem when towing. Now they have had it for over 8 months with still no resolve. I'm paying for insurance, registration, local county taxes and payments every month on the loan balance. And I don't even have the boat! MORE THAN 2 YEARS OF HELL from these people. read more

This place gets no stars! This place has been all bad from the time My wife initiated our boat purchase. First off, She purchased a boat at the price of $18,345. When tracker called her for financing, the price they had was 22,xxx. She asked the finance man why the price went up, and he said to talk to the sales man at San Ramon. She called Greg, and he said the price includes gap insurance, and the extended warranty. The next day she went to sign the papers, and saw that this $22,xxx did not include gap and warranty. It included some packages that She did not order, and was not receiving with our boat! She had the finance manager take those charges off! The payment of our boat went down, and we did still have gap, and extended warranty... Hm, wonder where that extra money would have gone?! Next, we had a light on the interior that would not shut off. She called San Ramon Boat and discussed it with the service rep. stating she was concerned as the light had been on for close to a week, and she was sure the battery would be drained. We brought the boat in, and at first was told that it was most likely a broken switch. Since we had to have the winch replaced as well we left the boat with them. Come to find out, the light is a push light, and only had to be pushed to be turned off. The winch was replaced, and She picked up our boat, ready to hit the river. We get the boat in the water, and notice 1/2 tank of gas missing! Just shy at least. Then go to start the boat, DEAD BATTERY!!! She call the shop, and the guy was very nonchalant, like oh, maybe they didn't charge the battery. When she mentioned the missing gas, he just said they didn't take gas out of it, or run the engine. We will never recommend this dealership to anyone, not even someone I don't like. Save yourself problems, DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE! read more

I can definitely believe this boat center has very low reviews. The way they charged but did not fix our boat is my number one complaint. We've had our boat in there twice and have had three unsuccessful launches. Although they said they fixed it, we tried putting in into the water after each time and the alarms went off. We could smell burning within 4 minutes! This third and last time we hired them to fix the boat, (now remember, we haven't been successful yet in going boating because the boat was NEVER FIXED!), they said they left it running for over 40 minutes (as they told us the first time... smoke bellowing from the motor), tried everything out, and gave us the bill. Again, we get food, drink, and friends together, travel to launch, and what do I notice? There's NO PLUG IN THE BOAT!! Angrily, I called them. They promised to Fed Ex, overnight, our plug back to us by "noon" the next day. So... yet again, we get everyone together and patiently waited for the plug to come. You guessed it! They lied! No plug ever showed up. How ridiculous that they didn't just get into their car and bring us a plug so we could enjoy the last weekend before putting the boat away for the winter. Since this was a Sunday, they were closed!! We are only 30 minutes from them. They should have driven and brought us a plug! If they would have told us they weren't going to send the plug, I would have driven to pick it up! Who is running this establishment and where does the buck stop, for the continued bungling of our service. The incompetence of the staff at this dealer is horrible. Cobalt should fine them and take their license away, never again allowing them to use the valued Cobalt name. West Coast, you've wasted precious days and time, trying to enjoy a day on the water. You shouldn't even be in business. Boy, do we ever miss Cathy and her brother who ran that place like a top! After buying seven boats over the past 25 years, we would NEVER buy from these imbeciles! read more

After I browse around looking in there meager service section I'm able to track down the less than helpful manager. He says there's no way to find out what impellers they have. Avoid this service department! "Winterization" special costs $550 and consist of an oil change and replacing burnt out bulbs. Rip Off! When I took my boat in, I was told they would put my cover on during storage. When I returned, the cover was off and they said they had just removed it prior to my arrival. Nice right. Well, when I got home I found the cover in the exact place I left it and still had the pine needles in it from when I rolled it up. After going to another shop to service my boat I went back to West Coast because they had a new Service Manager, John. They found the issue no one else could find for almost 2 years. Just recently I had another problem with the engine. John got me right in and they got it repaired. John, the new service manager, has turned the service department around in my opinion.
