Lamella Tavern in Willow Glen has a nice ambience with upbeat, catchy music. I wasn't a fan of the ceviche, but the other apps were really good. Solid spot to hang out!

Espresso Martinis!
Cynthia L.

One of my favorite bars in the South Bay! The cocktail options are always delicious! My favorites being that they recently added an Espresso Martini section! The dirty chai espresso martini was great! The thin mint, also great! When I come in, I always order the flatbread of the day. It never disappoints! There was one time I ordered a shrimp plate with nduja sausage and it was probably one of the best shrimps I've ever tasted. The bartenders here are always super friendly as well! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for chill vibes with delicious food and drinks

Oyster and happy hour wine
Sabine M.

We tried this place for happy hour and it did not disappoint! We tried one of their cocktails as well as happy hour wine, the oysters, sandwich, flatbread, tuna tartar, Gilda and chips and onion dip. Everything was really good! What I would say the tuna tartar is more of a tuna salad but still tasted good. Service was super nice! Would go again!

red lager, oysters, prosciutto di parma sandwich, romesco sardine
Jennifer X.

We came here for happy hour, and we ordered the red lager beer, oysters, the prosciutto di parma sandwich, and the romesco sardine. All the food tasted amazing -- the beer was really smooth and had a refreshing flavor, the oysters were all super fresh and meaty, the sandwich was delicious and the romesco sardine was surprisingly amazingly good!! The sauce with the sardines was so flavorful with a hint of spice, and the onions and veggies balanced out the flavors really well. The vibe of the restaurant was really cute too, and it wasn't too busy since it was around 4pm on a thursday. I also thought it was really cool that they only used real hand towels in the bathroom -- good for the environment! Overall I really loved everything here and would definitely come back again!

Martini and old Cuban.

We tried this for happy hour and we were not disappointed. We had the oysters and they were so good. We had the ceviche and that was the best I've ever had. Lastly, we tried their daily flatbread and it had three cheeses on it and it had a little spice, but not too much and it was my ultimate favorite. Don't fall in love with the menu items because they change their menu often..

Love the food! The sardines were really good. Drinks were strong and delish. It's a small place but very intimate and nice ambiance.

The cocktail menu is inspired by records, and you can feel the creativity in every sip. These aren't your standard bar pours -- they're clearly thought out and crafted with personality. If you're someone who appreciates a drink with a story behind it, you'll be in your element here. The live DJ on weekends takes the whole experience to another level. The music isn't background noise -- it's part of the atmosphere, and it hits right. What makes this place truly special is that you're getting two completely different vibes under one roof. Walk into Still OG up front and you get a casual, laid-back energy -- easy conversation, good company, no pretension. Then slip into the speakeasy in the back and the whole mood shifts. Alter Ego is a proper intimate lounge with their full bar, and it feels like a world away from the street outside. The transition between the two spaces is surprisingly seamless and genuinely fun to experience. And they're open late, which puts them in a rare category of places actually worth staying out for. Whether you're there for a chill night out or a proper evening, this place delivers both without making you choose.

Can still remember the gourmet dogs and duck fat fries back in the days... Awesome what they did to the place. The new set up with the dim lights and neon menu is noice. Ended up chilling at the front bar. Definitely will return to explore the back at a later time. Food: A We got to sample a variety of goodies and drinks from the menu, which definitely hit the spot. The skewers were cooked just right with a kiss of smoke from the grill. The takoyaki were good as expected--yum. We ended the excursion with the milk bread; it was surely a crowd-pleaser. It was fluffy goodness, topped with furikake, and served with a side of decadent house butter. Drinks were perfectly crafted and refreshing. Service: A We were chilling at the bar and got to hang with staff. Cool folks, will be back. - John

My husband and I had a baby free night out to celebrate my birthday and haberdasher did not disappoint. We went soon after opening so there was no line but I know they tend to have one later in the evening. We were greeted warmly at the door by the attendant who checked our ids. I was even wished a happy early birthday. When going into the bar, you walk down a staircase into a space that makes you forget you're in downtown San Jose with beautiful reds and burgundy decor. The staff is all smartly dressed; the bartender and bar back were both sweet and funny. I ordered a jack rose (my all time favorite), their seasonal watermelon waltz (this may be a new favorite for me, nice and refreshing) and one of their zero proof cocktails called a Mariposa which was soooo good as well. My husband ordered a couple old fashioned and a watermelon waltz for himself. We had an amazing time and look forward to coming back in the future.

And they don't allow outside food in even if the food was leftover in Togo bags from dinner. The place was busy when we finally went inside. But the bartenders were fast and we got two rounds of drinks as far as we could order. The dim lighting did look reddish. The large tables were reserved but there plenty of smaller high tops around. Memorable drinks were the perfect pear and the Andean Ascent. Perfect pear was not fruity at all and had a nice aroma and spice to it. The Andean ascent was a nice drink to start with, refreshing with a bit of fizz.

Hey there Party People…read more Wondering around Willow Glen to check out Burma Roots. The restaurant has a great date night vibe. Very warm and cozy interior with a small amount of outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and people watch. Burmese cuisine is new to us so or waiter really helped us make some great decisions. We started with Palata with Chicken Curry Dip. It was a flat bread that was moist and soft, a very light coating of oil. The Curry sauce was very flavorful and was the perfect match for the bread. Everything is a shareable size which is nice so you can try more things without breaking the bank. The String Beans were the bomb. Nice mellow spicy kick that kept you coming back for more. The Garlic noodles were cooked well very reminiscent of Pad Thai. The garlic flavor was there with out knocking you over. The Burmese Chicken Curry rounded out the meal. It was a very hearty curry with large pieces of chicken and potatoes. Hubby really liked it but wished it had been spicier. I on the other hand thought it was a bit on the sweet side. I'm sure we could have gotten it made spicier if we asked when we ordered it. As a side note...if you're a vegetarian you really need to come here. You can have any dish made truly vegetarian. Even though they're closed on Sundays and Mondays, Tina went above and beyond to help me get it back. She responded to my email on Sunday and coordinated everything so I could retrieve my belongings. That level of care and responsiveness is rare and meant so much to me. I'm incredibly grateful and will absolutely be back. Great food, great wine, great music, and truly wonderful people.

He seemed disoriented and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. His behavior and demeanor made us uncomfortable and left us feeling neglected as customers. After waiting quite a while, I had to get up and ask another employee for assistance. I believe her name was Michelle. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and helpful, and she did her best to turn the experience around. Her customer service was excellent and was the only positive part of our visit. That said, the service at the beginning was completely unacceptable. Management should address situations like this, as customers should not have to wonder whether employees are drinking while on the job.
