Lamella Tavern in Willow Glen has a nice ambience with upbeat, catchy music. I wasn't a fan of the ceviche, but the other apps were really good. Solid spot to hang out!

One of my favorite bars in the South Bay! The cocktail options are always delicious! My favorites being that they recently added an Espresso Martini section! The dirty chai espresso martini was great! The thin mint, also great! When I come in, I always order the flatbread of the day. It never disappoints! There was one time I ordered a shrimp plate with nduja sausage and it was probably one of the best shrimps I've ever tasted. The bartenders here are always super friendly as well! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for chill vibes with delicious food and drinks

We tried this place for happy hour and it did not disappoint! We tried one of their cocktails as well as happy hour wine, the oysters, sandwich, flatbread, tuna tartar, Gilda and chips and onion dip. Everything was really good! What I would say the tuna tartar is more of a tuna salad but still tasted good. Service was super nice! Would go again!

We came here for happy hour, and we ordered the red lager beer, oysters, the prosciutto di parma sandwich, and the romesco sardine. All the food tasted amazing -- the beer was really smooth and had a refreshing flavor, the oysters were all super fresh and meaty, the sandwich was delicious and the romesco sardine was surprisingly amazingly good!! The sauce with the sardines was so flavorful with a hint of spice, and the onions and veggies balanced out the flavors really well. The vibe of the restaurant was really cute too, and it wasn't too busy since it was around 4pm on a thursday. I also thought it was really cool that they only used real hand towels in the bathroom -- good for the environment! Overall I really loved everything here and would definitely come back again!

We tried this for happy hour and we were not disappointed. We had the oysters and they were so good. We had the ceviche and that was the best I've ever had. Lastly, we tried their daily flatbread and it had three cheeses on it and it had a little spice, but not too much and it was my ultimate favorite. Don't fall in love with the menu items because they change their menu often..

Lamella Tavern has quickly become one of my favorite spots in downtown willow glen! I've been here a few times now, and have had an enjoyable experience every time. The service is attentive , and drinks were brought out quickly. The drinks here are balanced, and well presented. The cocktail menu changes a bit with the seasons, and they also have a weekly special to keep things fresh. Always good vibes here, and it is a great date spot or if you're looking for pre or post dinner drinks.

The music was really loud and I couldn't hear the conversation of the person with me so the Asian bartender helped us turn down the music a little. It wasn't until mid evening that I realized there was another bar in the back. The bartender told us the cocktails at Alter Ego were more fancy. Definitely instagramworthy! Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. The back does seem like a more classy environment and I'd choose this setting over a dive bar any day. The music at still OG that they were playing at the time wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure they mix it up from time to time. I would love to hear some oldies!

All cocktails are on tap, which actually ended up being great because I was between a few of them and the bartender was able to give me samples of them. We also ended up getting an order of the Chicken skewers, which were super tender and juicy. We were too late on our visit, but they do have a daily happy hour that includes some of the skewers and fries, as well as some drinks and shots. Service was super friendly and vibes and music were great! Cocktails, weren't the best since they were on tap, but still good enough! I would absolutely come back here for a drink and snack though!

It took about 20-30 minutes for her to come back and take our food order after we placed our initial drink orders with her. Throughout the dinner, her demeanor felt very passive aggressive, and there were several moments where we felt like we were being given attitude despite everyone in our group being polite. My friend asked for extra olives with his martini and she responded with a rude "Really?" while making a face. It was such an unnecessary reaction to a totally simple and normal request. She also recommended that we order family style, which we followed, but the pacing between courses was extremely slow. We waited around 30+ minutes between our pasta and our protein entrees. For a restaurant that specifically recommends family style dining, the courses should be paced more appropriately so the table isn't sitting around waiting for the next round of food. The birthday cake situation was also frustrating. We had given our cake to the hostess when we arrived, but I guess our server was never notified of that. When I asked about a candle, she said she would bring it out with the birthday dessert, but brought out the restaurant's dessert instead. When she realized we had our own cake, she immediately took the bill back and said she needed to add the cake fee. The issue with that was we weren't asking them to cut or plate the cake. We just wanted to sing Happy Birthday, then have it boxed back up. She had assumed we wanted the cake service without actually asking us, and when we clarified, her response was, "Well, that's why I asked earlier," even though she hadn't actually asked us. None of us gave her a hard time or were anything but polite throughout the evening, which made the repeated attitude especially disappointing. The food wasn't terrible and the drinks were great, the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but spending around $900, which included a 20% automatic gratuity, you'd expect the service to match the price point, even though service should always be good regardless. Unfortunately, the poor service really overshadowed what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner for my friend and left all of us with a bad taste in our mouths.

I was even wished a happy early birthday. When going into the bar, you walk down a staircase into a space that makes you forget you're in downtown San Jose with beautiful reds and burgundy decor. My wife is Latina, so we're pretty familiar with authentic Latin/Mexican flavors, and from the moment we walked in, we were a little unsure of what to expect. We completely understand we're in Willow Glen and that Copita is going for a more upscale take, but for us, authenticity and flavor still have to be at the heart of the experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, and this review is absolutely not a reflection of her service. However, when we asked about the style of the food, there seemed to be a little hesitation in explaining it, which made us even more uncertain about what we had gotten ourselves into. I don't like bashing restaurants or their food, so I'll simply say that, unfortunately, the highlight of our meal was the chips and salsa. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good and definitely not shy on the alcohol! Also, don't expect large portions. The restaurant is clearly aiming for a more upscale presentation and experience, so the plates reflect that. Overall, Copita just wasn't for us. This was our first visit and unfortunately will probably be our last. I genuinely wish them success, but I think a few changes, especially when it comes to the flavors and authenticity of the food could make a big difference.
