This is how the hood of my 9 year old car looked after Justin polished and treated the entire car with ceramic coating. Incredible! Microscopic lines and webbing are gone, and I would need a magnifying glass to see any imperfections. He can always go further, and make it perfect, with enough time and cost. OK, I'm a car guy ... if you look at my profile, you'll see I collect and own a number of the "ten best cars ever made" according to numerous publications: the first BMW M3 ... the E30 M3. I purchased this fine specimen of this very car ten years ago from a young man up in Redwood City ... for $23,000. I currently have a stated value insurance policy on the gem from Hagerty for $85,000. I bought it as my "driver". My other E30 M3's were strictly investments, and so she suffered a bit being in the sun and rain at very few times, but always garaged, and washed by professionals ... me, at first, and then others. She had quite a bit of oxidation in the paint, a few paint chips from debris, a "keyed" scratch that I inherited from the previous owner at the driver's side door handle, oxidation om my precious BBS RS wheels, dry leather seats (though they were in excellent condition ... no cracking), excellent dash, ... just needed to really take her back to a really fine level. Did my research on Yelp and discovered Justin at West Coast Detailing in SLO. We discussed the various services that he could provide for a thirty year old car, and he was very up front about what his detailing would do, and wouldn't do. He also advised he was totally booked 3-4 weeks in advance so I needed to make a commitment. I only took this as a terrific sign!!!! We agreed upon a complete "detail" inside and out, a thorough reconditioning of the car's paint, and a ceramic coat treatment (which is a bit expensive, but as it turned out, completely necessary). Dropped her off Monday morning with the full intent that she stay there through Wednesday ... no problem. Justin called me up and said he could cure the rock chips and key scratch if I could procure the proper touch-up paint. " Brilliantrot" is 'NLA' (No Longer Available) from BMW, so he turns me on to an auto paint specialist in SLO ... $15 for a 3 oz custom BMW color coded paint. Done! I show up Wednesday afternoon and am absolutely gob-smacked with the condition of my car. The paint, which was a 'single stage' as Justin found out (no clear coat) had been reconditioned to a tee. The ceramic treatment, turned out to be totally necessary given it being a single stage coat and he was stripping it off, was mirror-like. The BBS RS's were polished to a mirror-finish. The leather and dash were drinking in their treatment(s) and looked spectacular. Justin even went ahead and detailed the engine bay, which is nice because the previous owner powder coated the valve cover and plenum the same color as the car's exterior ... see the pic. If I show her, everyone like to see the engine bay's treatment I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the final outcome. She's almost in Concour condition. My 2014 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (the first one pre-ordered and purchased in Silicon Valley) is probably destined for Justin's artistry. Ten stars, if I could. Thanks, Justin!!!!!!!!!!! I've taken my other cars to Justin, and finally I decided to bring him my prize possession, "Buckwheat" my 1965 Comet station wagon. I've always been one who enjoys polishing my rides, and no one has ever laid a hand on Buckwheat, (other than Hayley to help get it ready for a show). But the winter was wet and long, and I just didn't have the time to give it the time it would take to make it right. What happened next was a revelation. The paint on my wagon is a tinted primer--it gives it a unique look, clean, but not shiny, and has a texture and feel that really fits with it's 60's design. Unfortunately that primer was looking rather dull by the time I got it to West Coast Detailing. Justin took his time, and figured out exactly the steps to take advantage of that unique paint job and make my one of a kind wagon look breathtaking. After a hard winter and the truck being subjected to mud, dirt and brush scratches down both sides I dropped it off to him for the day. The inside was cleaned up like the day it left the lot and exterior paint felt smooth and clean to the touch while looking great in the sun. No surface scratches or swirl marks!
