I went here for an appointment to see Dr Slocum an Ophthalmologist - I recently moved from Phoenix and was diagnosed with glaucoma at least 15 years ago and have seen numerous ophthalmologist as I've moved from a Couple states for work and family - I had cataract surgery a few years ago and had a drain put in my eyes at that time to help with pressure from glaucoma - Dr Slocum did the field a vision and numerous tests and told me he didn't think I had glaucoma- the pressure in my eyes has always varied and at one point when I hadn't used drops (I wasn't sure it was necessary) I went for glasses (prior to my cataract surgery ) and my pressures were really high (36)--I found Dr Slocum initial diagnosis and attitude that my prior Dr's were wrong concerning-also they did a refraction exam which I didn't come there for and my insurance doesn't cover - I never requested it and at the time refused to pay for something I didn't come for-they said the Drs always did this exam as part of the ophthalmologist tests-I feel this should have been discussed with me since they knew my insurance didn't pay for it and they didn't- I guess I'll pay for it to avoid a credit hit if they turn this to a collection company but I think it is a scam way to get money from patients for unnecessary exams- I canceled my follow up exam with Dr Slocum and then they sent the bill for the refraction exam- $60- not exorbitant price but I would have gone to vision center or optometrist if I wanted to have my eyes checked read more

Please read to be informed: I normally only post positive reviews, but the interaction at this location warrants a very bad review, at least regarding the sales side making the glasses. I took my mother to pick up her ordered glasses today. My mother was provided a printed quote and was told to pay half before and half on pick up, so about $125 each time being about $250 total. She called in to pay half and was told the price was the same as the printed quote received directly by this office 3 days prior. Upon pick up to pay the remaining half $125, my mother was informed the price was much higher than what she thought she was going to pay, closer to $200 still owed. We showed the printed quote, which detailed and itemized the total cost, insurance coverage per item, and patient cost per item. However, they stated, in summary, that the insurance did not cover it all for what was on the initial quote. So we had to either pay the higher price, or we could cancel with a 30% stocking fee. My mother was never informed of any price change and was ensured during the first payment call in that the price was the same as the original quote. Upon speaking to the manager, after waiting 30 minutes, instead of an insurance adjustment issue, apparently, according to the manager, 2 additional services/product specs were added in which my mother never agreed to. They printed a new quote that had these new numbers. So now, instead of insurance at issue, it was some surprise service/product charge that was never communicated or agreed to. You can also tell the team at this location was getting flustered and towards being upset as the conversation moved behind closed doors. After some debate, the manager said they may send the product back to be remade without those added products, which of course would take weeks. But at this point, trust is lost with this facility and we wanted a refund. Seemingly reluctantly, they did issue a full refund and we were on our way. At the end of the day, it appears either they wrongly upcharged my mother and or did not communicate any price increase for approval. They also did not honor the original price despite having printed proof with their employee's written information on it. Maybe this was an error on their end with a new employee mistake, but that is in no way our fault as we did exactly as previously instructed. Perhaps this is an isolated incident, but who knows if this regularly happens to other customers. But, based on our interactions this day, I do not recommend this location at all to anyone. read more

My mom is dying of ALS and had I to reschedule two appointments with Dr. Brothers because of ALS related issues. The second Appointment after canceling I actually scheduled with somebody else in the office because she couldn't see my mom for months. My mom has been suffering from eye pain and wanted to schedule an appointment so Dr. brothers could see her. the person answering the phone today said We already had an appointment for February but Dr. brothers won't see my mom because she had canceled twice. My wife and I used this provider for years. However, our last THREE appointments have been horrible experiences. Wait times have become incredibly frustrating. Today I waited 30 minutes before the technician began her evaluation. By the time the appointment was completed I had been in the office over 1 1/2 hours! This was for a routine eye exam! The staff was unapologetic for the service breakdown. If you value your personal time avoid this provider. read more

My wife and I have had trouble with the billing at the Winghaven location. Our appointments are for routine eye exams. However, they sometimes get billed as medical appointments. The our vision insurance will not pay and we get stuck for a higher copay. On my last appointment I was very clear that I was only there for a vision test. Didn't matter, they billed it as medical anyway. We are done with these folks; will take our business elsewhere. read more

Dr Brothers and the whole staff are the best! I get my glasses, contacts and eye exams there. I have a small face so finding the right glasses can be a challenge. They always go above and beyond to find a great pair for me. I also have dry eye and Dr Brothers is so patient with me. She educated me on the best steps I can take so my eyes are more comfortable. Everyone there is friendly and accommodating. They have a patient for life! read more
