This is a very good hotel. Rooms very clean. Restaurant and bar were very good. Friendly service. All the crap you would expect in a room (iron, ironing board, free wi-fi, desk, flat screen TV, coffee, etc.). Friendly service. TV allows you to access Netflix and other streaming services, using your account. Location is great if you are working/visiting West Des Moines. Not too far from the airport. Hotel is right off the freeway. Easy to get in, along with free parking. The exercise room was pretty decent. Only downsides 1) TV was HD but the content appeared in SD instead 2) You have to sign up for the Marriott rewards program if you want free wi-fi Other than those minor downsides, I would highly recommend this hotel.

I was in Des Moines for work and stayed at the West Des Moines Marriott for two nights. I was surprised by how pricey this hotel is - I think my company paid something like $229 a night which is crazy considering I stayed the two previous nights at the Wynn in Las Vegas for $239 per night. And sorry, but the West Des Moines Marriott has NOTHING on the Wynn! First of all, the lobby area is nice but the hotel is starting to show it's age. The first thing I noticed about my room was that it smelled a little funky. Kind of sweaty, like a locker room. Other than that, I found it clean and comfortable enough. There was some noise during the day though from maintenance or construction. Internet is an additional $10/day, unless you are a Marriott elite member. The biggest ripoff though had to be the buffet breakfast for $16. It was a total joke, I had to make my own freakin waffles!! The hotel is conveniently located near a lot of businesses so I can see how it would be appealing. At the same time, there are also many other hotels within a few miles. Next time I'm in Des Moines, I think I'll try out a different place!

I venture to Des Moines about once every 2 to 3 years. Pleased with this hotel. Comfortable king sized bed, hotel as restaurant indoors as well as a bar. McDonald's right next to the hotel and some other fast food places not far away. Cleaning staff professional always nice having someone else make your bed. Tvs in the restaurant area of hotel!! Lounge like area in hotel if you're just trying to chill.

I normally stay at holiday inns but was traveling with a friend who is a Marriott reward member. Wow. Very impressed with this Marriott ... Room was very nice and had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. I liked the pillows so much I asked to buy one. I will definitely stay here again and try other Marriotts when traveling

I found these online. They are called luvalamps. So contemporary and cool

Hotel was nicely remodeled. The rooms were clean and exceptionally comfortable Restaurant and bar was great, watched the game and talked to a friendly bartender Parking was easy and free, I would absolutely stay here again. The room also had a very cool lighting fixture

Room is comfortable and clean. The work desk area is a nice size, which I appreciate when on business travel. Nice size TV that can be used as an additional monitor if you have the appropriate cord. Room service until 11pm, which is great! Enjoyed a reception in one of the conference rooms downstairs and that was nicely done. When I checked in I was warmly greeted by the young lady at the counter and the ride from the airport in the complimentary shuttle was equally warm. The only feedback I have is 1) more clearly mark your van so it's quite obvious that it's the Marriott shuttle and 2) the addition of a safe in the room is really necessary if your clientele are largely business travelers. A refrigerator and microwave would be a bonus.

Subpar room service order.

We were forced to stay here because the hotel where we had our reservation screwed us over. The place is clean but feels dated somehow. The rooms are pretty big, I especially appreciated the bathroom. And even though we were on the first floor, it was pretty quiet. There was s a bar and my husband got a Corona-- for $7! We decided to order room service breakfast using a card they provided. Unfortunately, that was a very subpar experience. The menu bragged about their toast, apparently from some local bakery with "whipped butter." It was two slices of dry white, cold toast with a packet of Land O Lakes buried underneath. That was $4.50! The tea, which would be presumed to be hot in the morning, was iced! The orange juice was served in a plastic bottle with no glass. The menu had said it was "fresh" which would imply fresh squeezed juice but it was Simply Orange. The breakfast option with cereal was $11 and was supposed to come with toast. It didn't. We ordered the breakfast to arrive between 9-9:15 and it came at 8:40, waking us up. Also, forget about free WiFi- it's $9.95 unless you are a "BonVoy member who booked direct." Overall, the place is clean and the employees are friendly and polite but the hotel is overpriced for what it offers.

I'm so happy I checked Yelp to find this wonderful hotel in the Des Moines area…read more We were caught in a snow storm while driving through MN which delayed our trip for hours. We didn't want to drive much further. It was getting late so I looked for a hotel in the Des Moines area. This popped up right off the freeway so we decided to give it a try. As we walked in, we immediately noticed all the nice decor and artwork. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays as well. The front desk attendant was very nice and quickly got us settled down we would have time to grab a bite to eat before the kitchen closed. The room was nice and clean. Bed & pillows very comfortable. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Robes! We liked all the modern touches. My only issue is what I have with almost all hotels. While I very much appreciate a coffee maker in the room, hotels always add decaf coffee instead of additional regular coffee. Who drinks decaf? So you need to make the extra trip downstairs to ask for regular coffee. We went to the bar/restaurant downstairs for drinks, a bite to eat and to watch Thursday night football. First, the bar is very cool with a pool table and several TV's. Nice wall art and comfortable barstools. Sadly, they don't offer any streaming of any kind in this hotel so there was no way to watch the NFL games on their TV's at the bar or in the rooms. Fortunately, I was able to get it in my phone app but could not project to their regular TV's. Our bartenders were Eddie at first, then Tyler who took over towards the end of the night. Both bartenders were super attentive and friendly. For food, we ordered the Burrata, chicken wings and the Revel Flatbread. The wings were nice and crispy, the burrata yummy and the flatbread was thin and crispy. All were actually delicious which I wouldn't normally expect from a small hotel. Very nice! The hotel offers a free buffet breakfast to guests as well as made to order. Honestly the buffet breakfast has everything from hot to cold. It has a toaster and microwave if needed. It was quite a spread. Plenty of juice & milk varieties. The food was delicious. They also offer free bottled water if you run out of water in the room. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. We were probably two if twenty guests in the hotel which was very surprising as it is a decent price for what you receive overall as a guest. I would definitely recommend the hotel if you are passing through.

I…read morehad zero expectations, but I also knew that booking with Hilton's boutique hotels would give me a uniquely curated stay. And that it was! The Revel Hotel is a beautiful, relatively new boutique hotel that is part of Hilton's Tapestry collection. The hotel pays homage to local Midwest culture in an elegant and visually stunning way. From the lobby's western decor to the minor details within the guest rooms, no detail was spared in the design of this space. It boasts modern amenities while preserving the classic perks folks love, including complimentary breakfast for hotel guests. There is a restaurant and bar on-site, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and staying open late for drinks. The only downside is that the bar and lobby are located in the same area, and at least on the weekend we visited, it got a bit loud in the evening, which made me feel bad for any rooms on the first floor. To play it safe, if you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend a room on a higher floor. I also wasn't too fond of the fact that there is no pool on this property. If you'd like to use the pool, you must walk over to the neighboring "Hotel Renovo", which is their sister hotel, use your key card, bring your room towels, use the pool, and then walk back. This commute is a bit inconvenient, especially when traveling with little ones and older adults, which is the only reason I didn't award this stay five stars. The hospitality here was fantastic. We were warmly greeted by a young lady named Tania, who went above and beyond to ensure our welcome and stay were nothing short of spectacular. She texted me before our arrival to ask if there were anything we would need, as well as throughout our stay to check in and provide any assistance if needed. She greeted us with complimentary, ice-cold water bottles. I loved and appreciated all of those touches. Check-in was uncomplicated through the Hilton app. All Tania confirmed was my identity using my ID and provided physical key cards if we wanted them. Otherwise, we could use the mobile key cards accessible through the Hilton app. Less than 15 mins! Check-out was equally as simple; no need to stop by the front desk if you used the app. Our stay was so exceptional that I've considered returning exclusively to enjoy the hotel and all its amenities thoroughly. Until I return, I'm recommending them to anyone who finds themselves in this neck of the woods.

The tots were 1/5th the size of the old orders. They charged us $3 to put cheese on the Margarita Pizza. (To be clear, mozzarella IS indeed one of the 4 parts of that pizza, Crust, sauce, cheese, basil.) Our order for two items came to $ 30+. This would be ok if the portions were huge or the quality amazing. Neither quality was present. We will not be back!!!

It's a beer hall so if you're aware what a German Beer Hall/Garden is like it has those vibes with huge TVs. The ordering system is phenomenal. I love being able to scan a QR code at the table and order from my phone. Being a millennial the less human interaction I have to make the better. They'll just get your drinks right to your table but for the food, you would have to pick it up at the pick up counter. I really wish more establishments would adopt this process. The only reason why I'm knocking down stars is basically the food... I haven't been impressed with anything I have ordered and my friends also said the same thing. Everything just seems bland and require extra condiments or sauce. They offer good menu items but I just wish there was more care in implementing them. Most recent, I had a tenderloin that I was excited about and as traditional as we see in Iowa the tenderloin was massive but I had to just smother the entire thing with mustard to have any taste. I would probably just stick to appetizers when going there. Fries are usually a safe order and my friend thought the wings were okay.
