It is located in Fare Zone 2 and has step-free access. The location is good. It is in the White City area of London and is the main station for Westfield London It is located in White City and serves Westfield London and the BBC's former home of the Television Centre. The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium (Loftus Road) is also nearby. The station is fairly clean, it has a small Starbucks (take out only) at the ticket gates, and two lifts going to each platform. It is on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, between Latimer Road and Shepherd's Bush Market stations. Depending on where in London you are trying to wish, you may wish to connect into Hammersmith (around 5 minutes) and get onto the District line. Tower Hill, Kings Cross, Baker Street and Paddington are all served from here on the circle line though. 3* - Handy tube station if you're heading into Westfield, serves a useful feature but far from the best station on the network.

The station was opened in 1902 by the Whitechapel & Bow Railway. Electrified services started in 1905. In 1923 ownership of the station passed to the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, although services were provided by the District Line. Hammersmith and City line services (then part of the Metropolitan Line) started in 1936. The station passed to London Underground after nationalisation of the railways, you can still spot the old dot matrix systems on the Eastbound platform. You are more than likely to meet vociferous student from local Queen Mary campus on your travels from this station, what a treat!

The location is great because if you come in here, you're close to Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, Embankment and Leicester Square. There are not too many tracks so it's easy to get your train. We took a Southeastern train to London Bridge here and it was very quick. For connected tube service, you can access the Northern and the Bakerloo lines. It's quite a trek to get to the Bakerloo line but it's nice to have the connections in one place. Also, many bus lines go right be here so it's easy to get a direct ride to this station. While we were staying near Trafalgar Square, this was our most used transit hub.

We greatly appreciated the convenience of the direct Canterbury West to Charing Cross Route and the subsequent short walk to our hotel (at Trafalgar Square) from there. This station is a bit smaller than some of the other transit hub stations (e.g. Paddington, St. Pancras, etc.), which was just fine by us.

If you enter on the station approach side, you will emerge at platform 2 - the southbound platform, and there is a footbridge over to the northbound platform 1 (if you want to up into London). The station staff seem very friendly, but I suspect that they don;t get much appreciation. I smiled and said hello to one, and almost missed my train because he so wanted to chat! The delicious "On the Hoof" coffee serves monmouth coffee and small eats for breakfast during the week. It's clean and well presented, and the platforms are wide enough so that I don't feel like I am taking my life into my own hands when walking along them (take note Wapping!). There are good electronic boards that clearly tell you where and when the next three trains are going. It's a great station really!

We still have great friends that live 5 minutes walk from the station on Devonshire Road. Lots of memories going back a great many years and a very romantic sentimental destination for me. This is actually an overground station which has an underground station connected to it, as well as a bus station. I like it, but I haven't been here in a while, and they seem to have renovated it both before and after the last time I came here.

It is served by the Piccadilly and Northern Line, and via the Piccadilly Line, has a direct shot to Heathrow via a 50 minute train ride (costing £6.70 one-way). It's the closest station to Chinatown London, the West End Theater district, and the named after Leicester Square. We took the station back to Heathrow on a Thursday, fairly early in the morning. Signs marking the Piccadilly Line going to Heathrow lead you to the right platform. There are two trains that come to this platform, so important to pick the one going to Heathrow (the other is Uxbridge, and the trains seem to alternate). The trip back to Heathrow Terminal 3 took 50 minutes. There is no good place to put your luggage, so need to either find a seat near the doors that are next to an open space, or just keep standing. The train was full while in London, but as you started to go to Heathrow, it emptied out quite a bit.

I was going to say that it doesn't stand out as the other stations stand out, but it is like the…read moreother end of Soho from Piccadilly. I would question whether it is possible to beat the tube here from Piccadilly but for some reason I highly doubt it. It is basically your typical underground station, just an entrance at ground level, and then a sprawling maze beneath you. In fact the entrance doesn't really demonstrate how massive this station is, and it is only a minor station at that.
