I used to frequent here quite a bit and I must say this place is not as awesome or spectacular as everyone says it is. Yes the mall is huge, yes there is a water park inside, yes there is a skating rink and yes there is a small theme park with a roller coaster. When you actually get here and see it in person though, it's less than desirable! I found all the stores to be pretty bland and a lot of the stores on one side of the mall were closed all the years I was there. The animals look depressed and I've never seen the dolphins because someone who worked there told me they died. The best thing about the mall to me was the Pirate Ship in the middle. Yes it looked grand and nice, but that's about all you got from it. I usually went to the T&T for groceries and I did go to the theme park a few times for the arcade games. The mall has a novelty to it, but it does seem very dated. Although the biggest attraction in Edmonton, this place falls short on many levels unfortunately. read more

It's taken me four years and countless visits to West Edmonton Mall to feel like I can actually review it. This isn't about shopping (well it is)- it's an experience! There are so many stores and it's the place I go for Sephora, H&M Home and Urban Outfitters mostly. I've also gone to not shop at all, the big cinema upstairs is legit, Galaxyland seems to always bring me back because apparently I get a buzz out of rollercoasters. I tried the shooting gallery recently, but for the kids WEM has so much too... the sea lion show, the sea life centre and giant pirate ship! I've even had a mall staycation at Fantasyland hotel (twice) the theme rooms are so fun! The ice rink is amazing but currently under construction so I'm excited to see that after the 2 mil renovation. I love that this mall has its own china town in the form of T&T market I choose to eat here over Bourbon Street but I see the appeal of Bourbon Street too and have dined there many times, and gone to pub for beers and a welcome shopping pit stop . The little street is very cute and I love the Reno's they have even put into the food courts. I've recently noticed a few local independent stores opening up and I'm excited for the variety that will bring. I've never been to the water park but I will go! I like that there are still elements to discover four years later. It's cool YEG has the largest mall in North America and it's pretty rad. read more

Of course a trip to Alberta isn't complete without a visit to this mall. After hearing so much about this mall, of course I had to visit it! First reaction: The mall is big. No, not the mall itself, but the parking lot. It took over 5 minutes to walk from the transit centre to the mall entrance, in which there are like 60 of them??? Okay I guess I shouldn't be surprised. As for the mall interior itself...I was in there for about 3 hours and walked about 30% of the lower floor and 10% of the upper floor, so yes it's big. However, aside from all the tourist traps (ice palace, the ship, mini-golf, etc), the stores themselves are all...generic. It's just another typical mall that's dotted with tourist attractions, a water park, and (admittedly) an excellent strip of non-fast food restaurants. Would I come back? Probably not in terms of looking all the stores, but I would definitely come to take photos of the other attractions and such. read more

I have been to edmonton mall previously but today I wanted to visit this for the purpose of reviewing. Who would not agree that this place is for entertainment lovers. If u want to shop,come here. U wanna swim ,come here. U wanna skate come here. Oh yah ,are u a game person? No worries ,come here n enjoy games from transformers to walking dead,ping pong etc ( it's in rec room which is now open in WEM . There is a huge play zone/ rides zone where kids ,adults can have their fun rides n enjoy the thrill. Wave pool ,zipline,water slides make this place a paradise for water adventure. Movie lovers can catch any new releases at Scotia theatres where I watched IT , first n last horror movie watched by me.( I am not a horror movie fan but just for the adrenaline rush) Talk about food n there is plenty of it. 3 different food courts in separate directions of the mall. In fact , one whole section has all the good restaurants like moxie n pubs n bars. U can get coffee n drink kiosks every short distance. Interesting n unique stores like sergeant store has everything related to army. Camouflage shirts,jackets,bag packs,sleeping bags,mugs,boots,knives,guns...Oh boy oh boy. All brands n non brand stores can be traced here. Good thing is - shop tax free. One thing I missed checking out but i wsnt you guys to do was fantasy land hotel. How appropriate that my 1300th review would be for the biggest mall in North America. Hehee. I don't really consider myself a shopper, because I mostly shop at the same 3 stores, but I think people who know me, especially my frugal parents, think I am. Therefore on my weekend trip to Edmonton from Hawaii (I know, go figure....), we obviously needed to stop at this huge mall. Don't be deceived, it's not huge in the number of stores they have. It just takes up a huge amount of space because there is a wave pool, a roller coaster park, a mini golf area, an ice rink and probably more that I didn't see. It's great as an American shopping in Canada right now, so that's why I decided to buy as much as I did. It was my excuse that it was pretty much all 25% off. But honestly, I didn't think the stores were all thaaaat great. I shopped at anthropologie, lululemon and a few others, but I think I have a better selection of stores living in Waikiki. Definitely come to experience the biggest mall in North America. Maybe even bring your swimsuit to go into the huge wave pool. Coming from Hawaii, I didn't think I'd need my suit in Edmonton, where it was 10 degrees (but sunny!!). read more

I've wanted to come to West Edmonton Mall ever since I heard about it when I was 10 years old. It did not disappoint! The first thing I did when I arrived was ride the Mindbender in Galaxyland - the Theme park in the mall! This indoor roller coaster was insane! The first drop feels like you're perpendicular and definitely rivals any Wonderland coaster. Every store you can think of is found in this mall. I heard once upon a time there was even an IKEA. At a mall! Tons of shoe stores and cell phone case kiosks, and Bourbon Street has a great selection of restaurants. There's also an ice rink, water park, and Pirate ship in the mall.. and where I'd love to stay most - the themed hotel! They have a space themed room that looks so fun. I hope I can go back to the WEM one day, it lived up to my dreams! (Lol - yes, I love malls). read more

Without doubt a major spectacle, the full-size Ice Rink, Water Park and Adventure Dome joined by all the usual retail suspects, no trip to Edmonton would be complete without a visit to their world-famous mall to at least see what all the commotion is about, a mid-day visit on a Thursday still finding the enormous space quite populated as the weather outside remained frigid. Admittedly shocked by the lack of high-end retail, the likes of Gucci or Tom Ford better sought downtown, guests of all ages and class will still find no lack of ways to spend money while wandering the well-laid-out stores that range from toys to Head Shops, the Movie Theater and Collectibles store beneath it both quite spectacular as is the Chinese Supermarket and Sports City the size of a Walmart. read more

Decent place to shop and have lunch. They have really made social distancing in the mall clear with their signs, which is great. The escalators are always breaking down whenever I visit, so that's a flaw. Other than that, it's a pretty good mall. read more

Wow! This mall is big! Normally, I wouldn't vacation at a shopping mall, but because I needed to go to Vancouver, and we got a really good deal on our flight and for our hotel, we determined, that it wasn't such a bad idea to hang here for a few days. West Edmonton Mall is the largest in North America, and the tenth largest in the world. It has more than 800 stores, an indoor water park, an indoor amusement park, an NHL sized ice skating rink, 2 miniature golf courses, a casino and a bingo parlor. You can also go cosmic bowling and play arcade games in Ed's Rec Room, and watch sporting events and UFC pay-per-view fights in the 300 Club Lounge. I'm almost certain that i'm missing something, but the one thing that was amazing to see, was the replica of Christopher Columbus' ship, the Santa Maria. It is my understanding, that parties such as birthdays, and other special occasions, may be held here with reservations. While I did get to watch the sea lions perform at the Sea Lions' Rock, I didn't get to go to the Sea Life Caverns, which is a large underground aquarium that is home to more than a 100 species of fish, sharks, penguins, turtles, and other sea life. The mall has all kinds of stores, in nearly every category you can imagine, including two grocery stores and a pharmacy. But dining options weren't so hot. The food court is large, but like most malls, the food was mediocre. On what is called Bourbon St. however, they have a few restaurants to dine in, but the choices weren't so appealing to me. There's always a line of cabs waiting out front, so if you don't have a car, maybe take one to go out to eat? The mall in my opinion, wouldn't be much without their parks and attractions. So while you're there, make the best of it, and enjoy all that they have to offer. Yes, we shopped, and went in to browse at nearly all the stores, but we also made sure we had fun at the adventure parks, casino, and the bingo parlor! read more

This review isn't so much for the mall and the attractions but for the washrooms within the mall. For people who aren't familiar with the mall, they will tend to use the more widely used washrooms but there are some places you could find clean, and rarely used toilets. The busiest is likely the one on the main level by the rink and doors to the buses. I would stay away from this if you can help it. It's good to see the mall has renovated washrooms, including the ones upstairs by the skating rink and towards Eveline Charles, and upstairs by Sears. Now instead of cramped and stinky washrooms, they are cleaner and brighter. You may need to line up still. There are a few places in the mall that I'll use the washroom knowing it'll be clean and not as busy. The first is in the casino on the second floor. There are 2 sets, one upstairs and the other downstairs towards the back of the casino. The one downstairs has so many stalls that on an afternoon, you can find one where the seat is still up so no one has used it all day since it was cleaned! The Fantasyland Hotel washrooms, accessible from the second floor and walking up the stairs are also clean and has many stalls. I'm not sure if you can also access them at all times though. There are some washrooms in stores that are likely not well used. I remember in the past, The Brick had one on the bottom floor, and Simons has one on the second floor. The Bay and Sears can both be smelly and dirty. Eveline Charles have washrooms if you are using their services. Galaxyland washrooms can get busy, but I've often see the cleaners in there so that's a good sign they are cleaned. Compared to other malls, at least there are many washrooms to choose from. Even though I have gone to the many washrooms in the years I've been coming to the mall, this isn't the reason why I'm there! read more

This mall seems like it had it's heyday twenty years ago in the 1990s. It has a lot of stores and I found myself wondering about some of them. We only had an hour and a half at this mall. My sisters took their kids to the amusement park. In an hour they could go on like two rides because of lines. I went into Urban Outfitters, Lucky Jeans, and some other clothing stores for women. I had frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti. My mom got some candy. I ended up buying a pair of flip-flops for 4.50. I also went into Dollarama..haha. They didn't take credit, so we didn't get anything. There's been good malls with standard stores everywhere I've lived in the US including San Francisco. This mall was normal and overwhelming...but I enjoyed the visit. There were many years that I would try to avoid coming to this mall. It's just so big and busy. But... I have to admit. It has everything I ever need. And if you can use their directory or their new app, it can be pretty easy to find specific stores. I'm usually coming here for one specific store - and I know which entrance to park at to get in and out the quickest. It can be pretty painless if I don't need to go anywhere else. I like to walk quite a bit and have step challenges with friends pretty often. When it's super cold out, I've been known to drive to WEM just to walk around and get my steps. There's always lots to see. Some cool features and attractions here: Indoor amusement park, indoor waterpark (I saw some surf lessons going on in there last night!), mini golf, Starlight Casino (formerly Palace), Jubilations Dinner Theatre, Fantasy Land Hotel (with cool theme rooms!), Movie Theatre, Bowling alley, arcade, Bourbon Street with restraurants and bars and the list goes on and on and on and on....... Love WEM for specialty things like the APPLE store or DISNEY store. I don't come to the mall just to wander around but we do go there at least once a month. Also, love that Ed's Rec Room has the Edmonton Events Centre in it - we probably go to 3 or 4 rock shows there a year with a great tiered bar area. Also love to take my toddler to Galaxy Land - M-Th you can get an all day wrist band for $10 as long as you purchase it before 3PM (holidays excluded)! It's a great escape for the cold winter months. read more

The West Edmonton Mall is on the list of the largest mega malls in the world. It's the largest in North America, I've heard. I had been to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota before, but it was kind of a treat to be here in Edmonton and experience it all. The majestic credo rings true here: "shop to you drop". It's labeled a major tourist attraction on Tripadvisor and boasts more than 800 stores and restaurants. It brings in more tourist activity than the mind can handle, and it definitely an economic driver that powers the economy of the city of Edmonton and the surrounding areas. The halls are crowded with eager shoppers wanting the very latest and best things on their daily shopping adventures. The most interesting thing about the West Edmonton Mall was that there was a big ass pirate ship inside the mall! Wow. That was pretty darn amazing! I even saw a few people on the deck of the pirate ship and they were setting up for a kid's birthday party. I guess that's how many families come here and it's not just for shopping but for a family experience too. The other fun fact that the West Edmonton Mall has to offer was that of the Water Park. It was pretty neat how they had an indoor water park and that somehow inspired me to jump in there. Pretty sure they charge admission, so that's something for another trip to Edmonton in the future. The other cool thing that the West Edmonton Mall had to offer was that of the indoor ice rink. There was nobody that was skating on it at the current time, but I thought it was pretty neat to have, especially all year round. I probably haven't gone ¼ of the mall to explore all the stores, but I got a pretty good glimpse of what's what in here. There are theaters to watch your favorite new releases and there are oodles of food courts to sustain your shopping addictions. Many clothing retailers to choose from, as well as there are other stuff to curb your enthusiasm with many material things to buy and treasure. For me, I was here for a good 5 hours to look around and buy necessities before heading out. I didn't want to spend too much money here and be regretting that for a good while. I did get what I wanted here, which was trinkets and souvenirs from Edmonton and Canada in general. I bought stuff at the Discover Canada kiosk and got stuff at the West Edmonton Stamp and Coin store. I had lunch here as well on Saturday, 08/22/2015 in the food court. In a plethora of food choices and wants, I settled on getting Subway (egg salad), since it was healthy and it wasn't as pricey as some of the other options within this food court I happened to stop on by. Parking is crazy and you can get severely lost in this place, so best bet is to remember which entrance you came in and lock your car and all your valuables. For the most part, the West Edmonton Mall boasts the gauntlet of stores and restaurants for anyone and everyone. From the high end retail establishments to the affordable brands you know and love on a daily basis. I'm grateful that there is no admission to enter the West Edmonton Mall, but I am pretty sure that there that the pirate ship, the ice rink, and the water park all charge admission fees. My guess is this is where locals hang out here when they have nothing else to do. The West Edmonton Mall seems to have the best and it shows. Most, if not, all shops here at the West Edmonton Mall accepts most major credit cards, so that's always a plus. It's very rare for anyone nowadays to not accept plastic, since it's a cultural and social norm these days. For the most part, if you are in the area and want to do something for a few hours, better come here and experience the West Edmonton Mall. After all, it is a tourist attraction in Edmonton, Alberta. I'd recommend coming here for a few hours, just to check things out. You just might find something you need or want here. At the very least, come for the water park or the ice rink. It's pretty neat. It's a one stop shop for any of your shopping wants or needs. This place literally has everything! Be prepared to be there all day, especially if you're with someone who hasn't been there before! The biggest mall in North America....yep...it's nice! So West Edmonton Mall has a lot of every day stores along with high end stores, attractions & restaurants. The good thing about the mall is that you're able to quickly find many "go to" stores like Gap, Banana Republic, the Apple store, Calvin Klein, etc. I was impressed by the attractions - they have TONS of attractions like the Fire Breathing Dragon inside of the movie theater, the ice skating rink, the water park which looks super awesome, Chinatown & Bourbon Street. Having been to the Mall of American before I knew exactly what to expect of West Ed Mall. For someone who has not been to a mall of this magnitude though, I think it would be a bit overwhelming. I've been coming to West Ed since the late 80's. Back in those days there was no GST in Alberta. So when the GST came in the Albertans I remembered were up in arms that a tax on goods was coming in. It was pretty funny as every other province in Canada has a provincial sales tax on goods and services. The whole rage here was that the mall was the biggest in North America. I can remember the awe.....a skating rink inside a mall? A pirate ship? A water park that was as large as a football field? An amusement park! It really was revolutionary at that time. Fast forward almost 30 years and a bunch of facelifts later West Ed is still holding up. I would recommend a visit to hear if shopping is your deal and it's a good place to bring kids however don't be blown away from the shopping. It's similar to many other the stores that are in most Canadian markets (with a few exceptions). The attractions here are what make the mall stand out. I wanted to check out the water park as it looks like a hell of a lot of fun however it's hella expensive as well! Like just shy of $50 for an adult for the day. I took my daughter to the sea lion show and aquarium which was expensive as well but she will have memories and a photo of this. The mini golf looked fun and we stopped to watch figure skating on the rink. Lots of cool sights to see. Be prepared for lots of walking and bring comfortable shoes. I have been to both the Mall of America and the West Edmonton Mall on several occassions. Both were developed by the same family. I prefer West Ed overall because of the water park, ice rink and other entertainment options that I think are a bit better than Mall of America. I imagine a Minus 40 weekend in Edmonton and with my son staying at the Fantasyland Hotel and spending the weekend in the water park, dining out in nice places, and wandering the mall. Then again, maybe my son and I would drive to Jasper (~4 hours away). Another point: Edmonton has a lot more going for it than the West Edmonton Mall. The University of Alberta is here as is the stunning Saskatchewan River Valley. There's lots of opportunity for outdoor activities here in addition to various cultural festivals and performances in this very diverse city. The Strathcona District and watching the Edmonton Esks play CFL football are also fun outings. read more

When people come visit Edmonton and say they just "HAVE TO SEE THE MALL!" before they leave, I never understand the excitement. It could be cause I have lived here my whole life and the mall seems like nothing special to me after all these years. In all honesty it is the best place to go if you are looking to go on a shopping spree. It has all the types of stores you could ask for. Since shopping at this mall is an all day event they have many food courts to choose from and a bunch of restaurants right inside. If you have kids, you can let them enjoy the indoor theme park or send them to the indoor water park while you enjoy a stress free day of shopping. It also has an indoor skating rink where you can sometimes catch the Edmonton Oiler's taking in a practice, a movie theater inside the mall, a skate park in the basement of the West 49 store and an indoor sea lion show. You can also check out the shooting range and I believe it also has a Driving range on the roof top (although I have never been to it, only heard about it). After rereading this review I now understand why people are get so excited about this mall, it really does have everything! Even it's very own hotel attached to it. So if you don't care much for shopping it is worth checking it out just for the attractions. read more

My family and I visited West Edmonton Mall back in 2006 when we vacationed in Vancouver and Edmonton, Canada. Back then, WEM was the reining LARGEST MALL OF THE WORLD, boasting over 800+ stores. I just love malls especially WEM (The west Edmonton mall) it is so big and so amazing. Since there is not much to see in Edmonton I just stayed here. First there is so much to do like galaxy land. In galaxy land there are rides and arcade games. One memorable moment is that before heading to the airport I came back here and saw this 7 year old win the jackpot on this game which is pretty hard if you ask me, then 15 minutes later I come back to go do to more rides and I happened to see him again with his dad while walking by and he won the jackpot again! How? Also I am pretty sure I saw him win the second prize also when walking by to the bathrooms. The sad part is I tried the game tower of tickets 15-20 times and I only won the minor prise once. "Sigh" Another thing either then shopping was the WEM waterpark which is fun and you can also rent little areas to sit called cabanas. Anyways I did some rides with my friends and as soon as I know it it is closing time. There is also starlight casino in the outside of the mall. The buffet is ok but I had a blast there ( probably because I won a bit of money) After my trip to Edmonton a few months ago, I would have to say that the west Edmonton mall was the highlight of my trip and will have to give it a five star. read more

First off I want to make clear that I love Alberta it's a great province the people are friendly and everything looks so modern. My first time at West Edmonton Mall was ok, I had heard so much about the place the World Records it hold and on and on. When I finally got a chance to visit it was actually quite shocked to see how small it actually is, I was expecting something huge, massive, immense. The Mall is divided into sections so I guess that is why the main area looks small, it does have everything you could want amusement park, water park, shops, restaurants, even shows so it really is a one stop for everything entertainment wise. West Edmonton Mall is truly a tourist's paradise with it's indoor theme park,water park,ice rink,and mini golf courses all under one roof. If you happen to be staying at their gorgeous hotel you can keep yourself as well as your travelling companions entertained all day without ever having to step outside. As a local Edmontonian however after a couple of years of visiting the attractions they have lost their luster a bit. Especially Galaxyland which is in desperate need of repairs and renovations in so many areas. It is very rare to go there and have all the rides and games staffed and working which makes it seem a bit over priced. The thing that keeps me coming back consistently is the shopping. I love the Disney Store,Bath and Body Works,Mac Cosmetics,Icing,the HMV super store,and so much more. It used to be years ago WEM held all the cards in terms of having the best variety of shops but Southgate and Kingsway have really stepped up to the plate and now there isn't as many stores to shop at that are exclusive to WEM. I still find that most major retailers still set up their largest locations with the best variety of merchandise in West Ed though. If your looking for great eats you don't have to look any further then Bourbon Street. There is Moxies,Tony Roma's,Boston Pizza,Moxies,and Hooters just to name a few places. I love having so much variety to choose from but it seems like if you are looking for a table after five or on weekends you can never find anywhere that doesn't have a wait. I have noticed some little improvements being made here and there in terms of adding more seating in the mall and improving washrooms which is nice to see. I just wish they had worked on smaller things a few years ago so they could be moving on to larger things now. Still I do remember those times as a little girl cowering behind my mother as the dragon at the Scotia Bank theatre spouted it's fire and sitting with my dad on the train that travels around Galaxyland so I know there will always be a spot in my heart for Edmonton's colossal mall. read more

I have, my whole life, always gone to this mall. It was fun when I was a kid before I had standards. The problem is that I keep coming back and this needs to stop. There used to be a bigger selection of fun stores but that has all changed over the decades. Basically WEM has everything that everyone else has. Or they have the only store in the city for a minute before everyone else. They take unnecessarily long to finish any project. They seem to do repairs and maintenance only as required and to the minimal possible ability. It is embarrassing that people from all over the world see this. It is lazy business ownership. The biggest upgrades seem to have been happening lately only to compete with other Edmonton malls that are understanding of the patron's experience. The biggest problem that I have with this place is the food courts and how poorly they are cleaned. I am often making sure I get extra napkins to make sure that I can clean off the table top and seats. If I ever get a clean table it is genuinely surprising. It is not only a problem on busy days, but even the slowest weekday nights. No one cares and it shows. My favourite is when the ride on cleaners are cleaning the floors, in the food court, and decide, while the machine is still running beside tables with people, to have a multi minute conversation with other cleaning staff. I remember as a kid begging my mom to take my brother and I to WEM, and she always (well 99% of the time) said no. It's too busy. It's too crowded, etc were the excuses. Now that I'm adult I totally understand where my mom was coming from. Unless I can go on a weekday morning (when the mall is a bit quieter) I try to avoid WEM. For a first time/new visitor WEM is pretty neat. I mean there's a bunch of different stores, restaurants, plus all the attractions. I haven't been to Galaxyland since I was a kid, but I do like the waterpark, and even just wandering around the mall can be fun. The problem is WEM is usually quite busy, and with all the crowds, and the fact most of the stores I frequent at WEM can be found at other locations in the city, means I usually decide to skip WEM and go somewhere else instead. read more

Ugh. I have a love hate relationship with WEM. I love the selection of stores and that I can find everything I could possibly need under roof. I love that there is always something to do. I love that I have a wide variety of places to eat. I love that I can make a trip to WEM a day-long adventure. I hate the crowds. I hate the line up at the Tim Hortons above the Ice Palace. I hate that I STILL get lost inside this mall after living in Edmonton for over 20 years. I hate WEM at Christmas (this one needs no explanation - if you've been to WEM during the holidays, you understand). I've lived in Edmonton for 5+ years and I actually go to WEM quite regularly. They offer shopping, entertainment, gambling, food, lodging, services, and plenty of parking! Okay I'll try to tackle each one individually... Shopping - Lots of stores for all types of products, gifts, clothing etc. There used to be some duplication but I find that that has mostly gone away and now each is unique. Entertainment - An ice rink that can be rented out for games or available for open skating sessions. A huge wave pool complete with slides and ziplines. A sea lion show like you would see at an aquarium. Amusement park with rides for kids and adults. A replica pirate ship that can be rented out for events. Gambling - Palace Casino has been around for a long time. Upper floor and recently expanded and renovated. Food - Two different food courts that offer all types of fast food and some healthier options. Renovated seating areas. Also there is Bourbon Street which has a dozen sit down restaurants that serve alcohol. The food is slightly more expensive then it's chain counterparts but there's decent atmosphere. Lodging - Two different hotels available but everyone thinks of fantasyland first. I've never stayed here and probably would never unless it was free (conference or complimentary). Services - Hairdressers, shoe cobblers, seamstress, dry cleaning, gyms, estheticians, medical, dental, optical, banks, currency exchange, and travel agency. Parking - They have a huge parking lot that is pretty much connected all the way around. All are outdoor but some are covered at least. They have security on bikes but vehicles are still a target for thieves so watch out with your belongings. Also remember which entrance you used going into the mall so you can exit the same way and closer to your vehicle! Enjoy the experience that is West Edmonton Mall! read more

We bought a couch from this location and it was falling apart in less then 6 months it was fraying on every part of it , so they replaced it . The next one was no different , as it to fell apart as well only worse this time . I leaned against the coach and it collapsed ! It was made from the cheapest shit you could possible put in a couch . They now refuse to replace this one and we are stuck with a shitty broken couch . I will never buy anything from the brick again . Clearly they make there stuff from the cheapest material possible. Save your money and go buy anywhere else . !!! I've bought beds from here as well and they have got sink holes in them . Save your money guys . They sucker you in with payment plans . read more

This mall is definitely a one stop shop, you can do absolutely anything here, shop, eat, go swimming in the water park, go on rides at the amusement park, play some mini golf, or stay the night in the hotel! There are hundreds of stores, and restaurants. They keep the mall very well maintained and cleaned, you're always seeing them cleaning the floors and the garbages around the mall, and it's definitely something I participate to see being done! This is and always will me my go to place! read more

This place needs no introduction, but a few words of warning and venting are in order. The world's largest entertainment and shopping mall is pretty cool. We've got everything here. If a company wants a piece of Canada, it launches a store in Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton's West Ed Mall is never far behind on the list. So we get some great shopping and cool things like the indoor water park, Galaxy land, Bourbon Street and Sea Lions inside our own local Consumer Mecca. But... BUT.... it's so busy! Every Saturday feels like Dec. 24. Parking's such a pain in the rear, you'd have to be crazy to leave the mall at 6 p.m. on a Saturday when everyone else is doing the same. And...AND... the rich Gremezian family can't even give us free mall Internet. They offer a connection, but you have to pay over $12 to log in and not even Starbucks or the Fantasy Land Hotel can offer hospitality internet service 'cause it would be competition with WEM's little piece of the pie. So I have a love-hate relationship with the mall, like most Edmontonians. I love to hate it and I hate to love it. What can a girl do, but go shopping?! read more

West Edmonton Mall.. where do I begin? It's a busy mall filled with a wide variety of stores and options, however, I find it to be overwhelming when trying to find one particular gift. WEM is a fun place to go for shopping every once in a while, or for lunch/dinner on Bourbon street, but I wouldn't recommend going around Christmas time or Boxing Day as there are often many new businesses looking to steal your money. For example, I got sucked into a store called NRSH by a pushy salesperson who somehow got my to increase my credit limit to purchase one of their products. My question is, who on earth would let a customer do such a thing? Now, I recognize that I likely was in a vulnerable state given that I had just finished exams, it was Christmas and I wanted to let loose a little, but the salesperson continued to pressure me to try their various products and promised to provide me with gifts for my mom and sister if I bought the Eneo classic. Unfortunately, I was unable to resist the temptation to do so as I really love my mom and sister, and before I knew it had made a purchase I regretted immediately but had no clue how to reconcile. In my opinion, it is really sad that WEM has allowed such businesses into their building, and I am less likely to return to this mall as a result. Go WEM for being the biggest mall in Edmonton, but I think I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. From now on, I resolve to only shop at local stores and support small business owners who do not feel the need to pressure their customers into making an unnecessarily expensive purchase. $1,600 down the drain, but at least I now understand why WEM has caused me such anxiety over the years. read more

This monstrosity is on the west end of the city as the name suggests. I am sure it was a marvel to behold when it opened up as what was not to like an theme hotel, an indoor water park, an amusement park, a casino, movie theater, clubs and live show with animal acts not to mention the ice rink etc etc. The mall feels dated now and dark in some area. The aisles are tight and get pretty congested on the weekend. I dreaded the thought of coming here unless there was an absolute need to do so. There are some good parts like I liked the T&T supermarket (at one time the only one in the city) and some shops that have only one outlet in the city. The food court is nothing special and the food is not good in most of the places I tried. I can see the attraction of being everything under one roof approach but an overhaul is severely needed here.Parking can be pressing. read more

Sure, it may be one of the largest malls in the world, yet that doesn't mean its the best. Yes, they do have a wide selection of stores available, and you can simply get lost and spend hours 'just browsing'. There is literally something for everyone here, which attracts a lot of people both from and out of town: a water park, cinema with imax, shopping outlets, 3 food courts, an amusement park, skateboard park, skating rink, mini golf parks, dinner theatre, climbing walls, casino, lounges, piano bar, bars, night clubs, plus more...and did I mention shopping! The weekends are really busy, and it's biblically chaotic during the holidays (especially during the winter). I live close by and people automatically assume I go to WEM all the time, yet this is not the case. I try to avoid the huge crowds and go during the weekdays. I have to admit that sometimes I stop by on my way back home just to avoid rush hour traffic though, just because I know it will take me a while just to walk around. The WEM building is open 24-7, so for whatever reason if you have the sudden urge to walk your dog in the mall at 3am, you can do just that (don't laugh, I've seen it happen before). read more
