The best!!! I bought a painting at a swap meet and it needed a new mat. I took it to Michael's because I thought that would be the least expensive option. To my surprise Michael's wanted $80 for the mat. That sounded high - so I googled "local frame shops" and found West End Gallery. Their price...$30! And they did a BEAUTIFUL job. Subsequently, I've brought them paintings that needed framing and always was surprised at how reasonably priced they were. My most recent issue was a painting that I accidentally ripped right down the center. They repaired it and you cannot see the rip at all, they also cleaned it and fixed some other issues. Incredible. What a great restoration business!! We had a 1853 oil painting of my wife's great grandmother that had some small imperfections but the canvas was deteriorating rapidly. They unstretched applied a new canvas back, restretched, removed old varnish and revarnished with museum quality varnish. See the result in the photo below. I have two Italian oil paintings that were in bad shape, backed onto bowed cardboard, and had come out of their frames. West End carefully removed the backing and put a stiffer backing on the delicate paintings so that they are no longer bowed, and placed them back in my original frames without any damage. For my son's birthday we bought him an autographed, collectible jersey from his favorite hockey player. The day of his birthday party my husband suggested we have it custom framed, which seemed like a great idea to me, so we set out to find a shop that would do it. Based on their excellent reviews on yellowpages.com, we called West End Gallery first. The owner was very understanding re: our last-minute predicament and it turned out they had the necessary materials on hand to do my job on a rush basis. We made a beeline to their gallery, where we were met by the most delightful, accommodating couple. They proceeded to explain how the jersey would be mounted and showed us the materials they would use. They very kindly agreed to do the labor-intensive job, even if it required them to stay later to complete it. We were very impressed with their knowledge, experience, quality of materials and friendliness, so we dropped off our jersey, happy to know it was left in good hands. Half an hour past closing time our jersey was ready, and we could not possibly have been more pleased with the results! Hands down top notch, gallery quality framing, down to the use of museum glass for our piece! We could not possibly be more pleased with the final results and recommend WEG&CF without reservations for your most treasured art, photographs and collectibles. The framing cost is not inexpensive, but you will get quality quality quality, aaaaalllll the way! Most importantly, the owners are such nice people, and they do not pressure/oversell. For example, it was my husband who inquired re: museum glass, and they just happened to have a single piece in stock, which was precisely the right size for our job =)). They showed us the glass and commented re: the substantial price difference it represented, but did not in any way hype it up to capitalize on our emotions; they even suggested we think about it after we dropped of the jersey and call back if we wanted it, but we decided right then and there to go for it. When we saw the results we were soooooooooooo happy we did!!! All in all, it was a most pleasant experience, they saved our day and we were able to present our son with a beautiful collectible piece; the smile on his face -- truly priceless =)). I had a picture taken of my kids that to me (no bias here) lol was AMAZING and I wanted to put it into a nice frame. All the basic frames were glossy and seemed to take away from the picture as opposed to enhancing it. JIm and Paivi were great at putting together a frame and mat that helped enhance the picture instead of taking away from it. Jim also recommended a spray finish that could be used instead of glass to reduce glaring and it would also protect the picture. The picture hangs over my mantle now and I can't thank Jim and Paivi enough for doing a great job. read more

do not i repeat do not bring your needle points here!!!!!!!!!! i brought my needle points in here and said no glue and after 8 or 9 months the needle point canvas was buckling under the glass and i took it to a different framer to find out why and they informed me it was glued to foam baord the needlepoint!!! needle points should never be glued to anything!!! they said it was acid free! but when you are passing down a heirloom it should be handled with care!!! will never come back read more
