I got a very nice painting for my birthday that I wanted to get framed so I thought I would give these guys a try. First off they are in a great location pretty close to the freeway on Mulholland. The store was well lit and had many options to choose from. The man working there that day was very nice and welcoming and pointed me in the right direction to make this painting stand out! He also gave me a discount on the nicer glass for the frame which was generous of him. He said it would take about 10 days because they were behind but they ended up getting it done in 7 days! Not sure what happened here today. It started poorly and went downhill from there. I got to Framed LA when the store was scheduled to open and had to wait a few minutes before someone showed up. I was there to get some tickets framed from a three day concert weekend. Each day's ticket had artwork on the front and ticket info on the back. I was hoping to have the tickets separated by matboard so you could see the artwork, and then if you turned the frame over, the ticket info would be visible on the back. The proprietor had a surly attitude. He talked about his materials in a way that I didn't understand and seemed to be frustrated with me when I asked him to explain. At one point, I found myself apologizing to him for not understanding his terminology. He told me he couldn't use matting if I wanted to see the both sides of the tickets. Instead, he would put the tickets between two planes of glass and then put a frame around them. He picked out a basic black frame and then quoted me a price of $152. I had two sets of tickets I wanted framed (one frame for each), so I asked $152 for each? He replied, yes. Why do you think that's too much? I told him it was more than I was expecting to pay, and he said these are custom frames. I didn't like his tone during the exchange or his price, so I drove five minutes to another frame shop in my neighborhood. I guess this guy did me a favor, because I wound up getting the tickets framed, including matting, for one third less than he quoted me. The proprietor at the second shop was a pleasure to work with. She was pleasant, listened to what I wanted and offered me different options. P.S. - I would have given Framed LA a one star rating (bad attitude and high price), but since I had been there before and had an okay experience, I bumped it up to two stars. read more

Frank saved the day. We had a framed a sports jersey we ordered for a frienda birthday party. When we opened the box, the acrylic was damaged and the party was that night. I called Frank and he said to bring it in. I dropped the frame off at 320pm amd he had it ready an hour later. He saved the day. The party was in Torrance at 6 and we made it just in time. Stopped in, plugged in my phone, followed directions, and walked out with beautiful matte (yes they have matte as well as glossy along with border and size options) pictures in a matter of minutes. My fiancee is a teacher and she LOVES to travel during the summer and makes it a priority to looks for local art pieces to bring home. For the past four years she was using the same framing shop and loved their work. However, the shop owner retired this year and closed the business. I have been coming here since we moved into the neighborhood about 16 years ago. I would say most of my art has been framed by Frank and his staff. Every single piece of frame and matting has been an art form in itself. I've never been disappointed and the quality of work from them and I've always been happier with the art after the final results of the frame job. They have very high end frames- even for some 1800s paintings I had- all the way up to plexiglass lucite boxes I just recently had done. Frank is a character and he is honest even if he doesn't gain your business. If you ask him for an opinion he always sides on the side of what's best for the art..and at the end of the day- that's what I want. I love that about him. He's cool and creative and I'm always happy and he has turned some of my trash into treasures. Very grateful that they are the neighborhood. When you want it done right- take it there- if you are trying to save a buck- go to Target and get yourself a frame. read more
