Cool place with great pizza! (Map Room). Brunch is even better!! Haven't brought anyone here who doesn't like it. Highly recommend.

This review is only for the Sunday brunch. I have not experienced West End Tavern otherwise. I've gone a couple of times now and sat at the bar. I think Sunday brunch is from 10a-2p and I would recommend getting there early as it does fill up and get busy. There is a friendly older guy that helps out the bar staff and my server has always been this dark haired girl who calls everyone honey/hunny. She does a pretty good job and I have no complaints about the service. Also, funny to note that I am listed as "Gal" on my receipts. I like to go and chill, they have wifi so I just read some reddit nonsense and enjoy my meal/drink. I prefer the bloody mary over the mimosa. For food I've tried the stuffed french toast $10.95 and the combo $11.95 which has one french toast and one eggs benedict. Both tasty and filling. I like how the home fries are legit sliced home fries cooked on a grill and not this new fad of deep frying chunks of potato. There are other items on the menu, but when you really enjoy something it's hard to switch to something new. Some notes: After Sunday brunch they switch straight to dinner service, no lunch items can be ordered. Also, you cannot order take-out during Sunday brunch. I would come back here again and would recommend. Nothing fancy, just a laid back place with good affordable food and friendly service.

Came here for a drink and decided to eat too after perusing the menu. The Browns game was on, so there were several groups of people there for the game. The audio was SO LOUD, but that's to be expected on game day. They have a nice variety of beer and wine, but most of the craft beer is in bottles or cans (and not very clearly marked) so I ended up ordering a craft can when I really just wanted a draught. No problem though, as the drink prices here are pretty good. The draught list is only about 6 beers. Our server was pretty attentive even though she was the only one working, and she was very friendly. I ordered the veggie burger, as I was intrigued that they made it in-house and it had a mix of various beans and raisins in it. It had a good flavor and chewy texture, but at least 1/4 of it was SO HARD. I couldn't figure out if it was dried out/old or if they just left it on the grill too long, but it wasn't burnt so who knows. My husband got the blackened grouper sandwich, and that was a winner for sure - a large piece of flaky grilled fish with really zesty seasoning that had the perfect amount of spice. My mother-in-law got the filet special that had shrimp on top. For the price it looked a little underwhelming to me, but she enjoyed it. I liked the cool divey (but not gross) old school vibe of this place, and I suspect if lived nearby I'd come more frequently. Nothing blew me away, but a solid choice for drinks and lunch.

Older atmosphere gives it comforting vibes. Brunch menu has really great options. Friendly staff, and quick kitchen! Will definitely come back for Sunday brunch. Recommendations: Mexican Fritata

Checking in on us, so and so. When me and my family entered the pub, this kind young lady greeted us and asked us how many was in our party. I think she had dyed hair, and I don't know her name either, but she was very kind and helpful. The food is also amazing here!! I tried the Irish breakfast and it was very good. It was big portion wise, but to me that's a good thing. Our food came out quick, fresh and hot. We also got seated at a corner table near one of the entrances/exits and the corner tables ate so cute! I love the stools, and the interior design of the place.

My group were supposed to go to Habesha Ethiopian restaurant for dinner and book club but they were closed so we found ourselves at PJ's Irish Pub. AMBIANCE -- Dimmer light but not too dark inside. Typical, traditional bar look and feel. Lots of booth tables plus a center bar area with chairs around it. DRINKS -- I don't drink alcohol so I can't comment on their drink offerings but considering that this is an Irish Pub, they must have lots of options to choose from such as beer. FOOD -- Their menu is large with dishes such as pot pie, tacos, meatloaf, etc. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I just ordered 2 beef tacos that came with tomatoes but I forgot to ask for it to come without cheese. So, I had to remove the shredded cheese from it. There was a lot of cheese on the tacos too. The tacos were fine - simple enough and the beef tasted just right. This pub is probably more known for their drinks but I may be wrong. Everyone on my table seemed to enjoy their dinner. I noticed someone ordered meatloaf, another for a chicken pot pie, another had a big plate of broccoli with something else (the broccoli looked tasty), and so on. SERVICE (5/5) -- our group was treated well. We were greeted upon walking in plus our server took our orders at a reasonable time. PARKING -- Not the best like most places in the area because it is street parking only but I was very lucky to find a street parking spot right in the front of the pub. You can probably park at the shopping district parking lot across the street where a gas station is located. Overall, although I wasn't expecting to even visit PJ McIntyre's Irish Pub on that cold January evening, it was a nice enough experience (mostly FUN because of the book club group rather than the food). The beef tacos that I ordered were fine and a fair price (around $6.50 total). I most likely won't be back since I don't drink alcohol and I hardly visit pubs or bars for dinner. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 11/250 total reviews in 2026 - 852 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 27 February 2026

Off the bat, barmaid brought me my Diet Cola, no ice with a boatload of ice and repeated that when she refilled later on. She wasn't real helpful with suggestions on her faves or most popular dishes. My colleague started with a Moscow Mule and fried pickles, both that he said were good. He ordered just a salad which was nicely sized. He eats ANYTHING from the years i have known him. Not particular in any fashion. I ordered a 'paddy' melt which was crispy enough to bounce a coin off and the amount of grease that my napkin sopped up was over the top. Their entire two sided menu came with hand cut fries and a pickle spear withEVERY CHOICE. NO HEALTHY EATEN THAT I COULD FIND AT THIS LOCATION I never found my pickle spear but the fries were overdone in some instances and way underdone in others, tells me their fryer needs some attention. These meals were done one by one since we were still the only ones there at 12:30. Service was completed quickly enough. Bit disappointed in the ambience and food this go round. They get another chance but it will be some time before i am in this neighborhood since i am a Chardon resident. Made poor impression for this Geauga County person. My colleague and i had plenty of time to chat and talk since we hadn't seen each other since LAST XMAS. So that part was a success. Had a cleansing salad for dinner when i ate later on in the day to try to get all that grease from my system. The Harp and Flannerys still top my reviews for Irish victuals....
