FOOD/DRINKS -- Limited food options but plenty of drink options. Typical pastries and breakfast sandwiches are available. During my June 2025 visit, I bought the Biscuit Sandwich ($10.50) that has Beyond sausage and vegan egg in it on a cheddar scallion biscuit, with hot sauce on the side. The biscuit sandwich was absolutely delicious. The uniqueness of the cheddar scallion biscuit matched perfectly with the vegan sausage and egg. I believe the biscuit is house-made. I'm not vegan but I loved this breakfast sandwich especially with add some hot sauce to bring out the flavour. Writing about this breakfast sandwich now is making my mouth water. I also got their banana bread that tasted good just as a typical banana bread would. The banana bread was soft and moist and they gave me two for the price of 1 perhaps because they wanted to get rid of them. Drink options are typical of most coffee shops serving both coffee and tea. During my June 2025 visit, I ordered a Matcha Spritz ($5.50) -- matcha, lemon juice, blueberry fruit syrup, sparkling water and ice. This was a very refreshing drink and not too sweet at all. I would definitely order their Matcha Spritz again. AMBIANCE -- Community focused as they have a bookshelf of free books to take (at least they did back in June 2025). As for lighting, the coffee shop isn't as bright inside as I prefer and the dark fixtures don't help. Free WiFi to use and a lot of people come here to work on their laptops. Service was good so I'll definitely be back. Parking is free street parking. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 84/250 total reviews in 2026 - 925 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 15 May 2026

She was efficient, helpful, and genuinely kind. Unfortunately, today's experience was the complete opposite. At 7am, I washed two kids' jackets (size 6-7) and one full-length medium winter parka in machine #16. The machine was only about half full. I pretreated everything, but when the cycle finished, all three coats came out still soapy and stained, with visible OxiClean residue. I brought this to the attendant's attention and showed her the items and the leftover soap. Instead of addressing the issue, she suggested I should've used a larger machine...even though this one was not close to full...and then implied I may have used too much detergent. Her "solution" was to run the washer empty to check for an error code before considering re-washing my items. I explained that I didn't have an extra 30 minutes to wait for that process b/c I have to go to work, and that it didn't make sense to delay resolving the issue when the results were clearly not right. She then stated she couldn't rewash my load unless the machine was proven to be broken, because the cost would come out of her paycheck. At that point, I dropped it because I didn't want her to be penalized financially...but that response alone is concerning from a customer service standpoint. When I asked for a way to contact management, I was told to leave a Yelp review instead because she had done everything she could to make me happy. So here we are. It's disappointing that after 6 years of consistent business, a clear issue with a machine wasn't handled with basic customer care. I would've appreciated a simple solution or even an attempt to make it right, rather than being met with deflection and inconvenience. I hope management sees this and reconsiders both their machine maintenance and how customer concerns are handled moving forward.

The scallops appetizer was well portioned but the mushroom cheese sauce was missing in mine. Lastly, to end on the best note, the bouillebaise was perfect! Yes, I will always return because I need to try other items! There is one restroom on the floor and 2 more tiny private ones downstairs, but it is a potentially dangerous trek down and climb up. The games are very well organized, and there's even a suggestions list on the wall. Not to leave out, the lights and art make for a fantasy cottage core immersive space. I love shrooms! But obvi, The main reason to come here is for the games. You want cat games? They got purrfect choices! Pandas? Uh-huh that have it! Racoons? You bandit believe it! Wanna watch your friends meeples get eaten by sharks? You can hear with Survior Island! Parks and Trails? Have no fear... they got it here! Criminal games? Allegedly they have them ;) They have so many, that it was overwhelming to choose. Prices are fair, with about a $5 fee/gamer, with set times of 3 hours max typically. I'm sure if it was empty and if they didn't have other resi's or a waitlist, you could hang longer, especially if you have an extra $5 or something... Weekends, espeically in the winter, will be more crowded so be aware if others make you nervous. I personally get nervous about gaming when others are around. My brain shuts down and I loose critical thinking skills necessary to win. And winning is life. Onward, the food was meh. I ordered the cheese flatbread 'Za, hoping to channel my inner teenage mutant ninja turtle and smash my fellow turtle completion. But the pizza was bland. It was like pita with cheese on. I'd say, go somewhere else and get food, and go here for the games and dranks. The latte was delicious, and I actually ordered a second. It was just the extra sweetness & energy boost I needed to crush my competition. You already know I like to check out the restrooms. They had two gender neutral large accessible restrooms, from what I discovered on my exploration, and they were clean, with adequate lighting and finishes. Parking is scattered across the street, but there's the large westside market lot available. With Mitchell's Icecream (yes the train was working at this one last time I went), Ohio City Burrito, and a plethora of options, you can't go wrong! Now, back to the games - I will say, some of the games are very advanced and will require extensive set up and knowledge on how to play. If there's game you're interested in playing, and you have little knowledge, I recommend looking up the rules first and checking out tutorial vids. Otherwise, you'll waste a lot of time figuring out the logistics. If you wanna go from bored to board games, I recommend this place!

I'm so sad about this, but this was not my favorite experience at Leavened. Customer service was great of course but my selections fell short. I got a mushroom and ricotta croissant, which was fine. I forgot the ricotta was supposed to be there because it mostly tasted liked mushroom, but it was good. I also got the cinnamon monkey bread. This was not good. It was seemingly cooked in the paper that it was served in so the top of the bread pieces were crunchy, the middle was softer and then everything else was completely stuck to the paper. I didn't get to eat about 1/3 of what I paid for and I had to work really hard for the other 1/3. Also, the bread had a very spicy taste. It must have been cinnamon and allspice, but it was entirely too much and very overpowering. It truly tasted like a spicy savory bread which is not what I was expecting or wanted. Monkey bread is usually gooey and sweet. This missed the mark, but that's okay. I'll certainly return for another treat soon. Also the bread was looking fire this day.

The bread was fresh and crusty, there were two small strips of tofu that had maybe been dribbled on by hoisin sauce at some point, some lettuce and jalapeño slices, and carrots. The sandwich was dry as a bone and a really sad empty version of a banh mi. The chocolate rye cookie I bought as a back up was thankfully still deliciously chocolatey and soft as usual. The guy at the register said the bread pudding still has a "cinnamon roll base, so it has orange in it" despite nothing in the sign denoting this awful addition to bread pudding and the fact that cinnamon rolls are not orange rolls. But I digress and I won't fight with a cashier over their poor decisions lol. Also got a cherry chocolate sourdough on impulse. Pray it is soft inside.
