Laundry washer wasn't working. I did some Google research and the most likely culprit was the main control board. First off, he was exactly on time at the start of the service window he told me to expect him. He diagnosed the problem as my door lock. He replaced the door lock but it didn't fix the issue. So he did some more diagnostics and decided it was the main control board. He wasn't able to get the correct part in a timely fashion, but did not charge me his normal trip fee either. Once I was able to get and swap the part myself, it was indeed the correct diagnosis. I'd call him again if anything happens in the future. read more

My wall oven was dead. Rauf came and worked on it; he discussed it with me at length, and acted as if my problem was the only thing in the world. Unfortunately the oven had "fixed" itself before he got here, but he marked some wires and told me what to do if the problem recurred. It did, of course, a few weeks later. I did the tests he'd given me and then called him. He diagnosed the problem over the phone and told me what to do next. All this without charging for a service call! When Rauf showed up I was surprised to see how young he was, but as he went through a systematic process of troubleshooting our oven problem I could sense that he was experienced and knew exactly what he was doing. Although the process took longer than we both expected, he had a great attitude the whole time and part of it was due to the fact that I had the super old oven disconnected and in need of repair for over 5 years. In the end...my oven works, my new wife is happy, and as you know happy wife = happy life!!! On a sidenote--in a society where some of the younger generation appears content with cruising through life and living through devices and media while being supported by their parents and collecting unemployment--it was awesome to see a young man with his own business hustling hard out there to make a decent living. Dryer goes out on Christmas day- Ugh! Family over and they say the dryer isn't drying their clothes. What do you do but go to Yelp and start reading reviews. What I didn't realize was that I sent quotes to everyone, not just the company I thought would do a good job. That's how I found West Fix. The owner was the only person to send a quote with time periods that worked on 12/26. Saw his reviews and although good, not many. Because he sent his availability, I went with him. So glad I did. Very thorough, asked before proceeding to fix the issues and then offered for an additional fee to vacuum up the dust in my dryer that accumulated over 10 years. I felt all prices were fair except the cleaning up option but since all the pieces were apart, I said why not. Not sure if this will help longevity but paying $50 to vacuum all of the mess was worth it from a piece of mind perspective.
