The Yellowstone Club private ski and golf community has a main lodge which is the heart of the Club. Love that this community has its own shops, restaurants & bars, lounge areas, spa, fitness center which has a big load of complimentary goodies, swimming pool , business center, concierge services, fire department and more. One of the major perks for members is the activities for children. Too many activities to name! Here's a few to keep busy: movie theatre, rock climbing wall, basketball court, arts, and crafts, and an arcade all at the the youth center. Staff will also provide supervised activities and day care. We love the Michelin quality dishes that comes out from the YC. The Clubhouse offers delectable meals and our go to spot from breakfast to dinners and great afternoon drinks with expansive Mountain View's. Despite working hard and receiving praise, I experienced a lack of transparency, fairness, and consistency--especially around service charges, insurance eligibility, and end-of-season scheduling. I do not recommend working for the Health and Wellness team under Serene's management. Her leadership style fostered confusion, stress, and unnecessary conflict. I hope YC leadership takes staff feedback seriously and prioritizes a more respectful, supportive work environment going forward.

The Super 8 in Livingston, 54 miles from the north entrance at Gardiner, offered a room for $114. And those are the cheap end. I kept looking and found Lure Me Inn in Ennis, Mont. Sure, it's 70 miles from Yellowstone (an hour north on a highway with a 70-mile-an-hour speed limit). It's a beautiful drive that takes you past Quake Lake, formed in 1959 when a magnitude 7.5 earthquake dumped 80 million tons of rock into the Madison River and formed the lake. The Madison is a renowned fly-fishing stream for rainbow trout. The rate for a cabin with one bed was $75. I believe the cabins with two beds went for $89. The open room includes the bed, a dining table, a two-burner stove, refrigerator and microwave. Dishes, utensils and pots and pans were also supplied. There was also wireless Internet and DISH network television. The separate bathroom included a combination tub and shower. There was also a sitting bench and plenty of towels. Owners Melissa and Tom Rogers were friendly and clearly enjoy hosting people. They were a delight.

They furnished the a 12-cup coffee pot, but all we could find was 3 little bags of coffee that make 9 ounces each. If you don't wash the dishes you use, you get charged. I couldn't help but wonder who had previously washed my coffee cup. I ended up washing it before and after use.

They also advertise free laundry but every time I went down, all units were occupied and they close the laundry at 9pm. Families would take all units and do multiple loads for honors. The location is convenient for the park because it's located south of the entrance, which makes turning right (east) on Yellowstone Road a lot easier than those who are coming from the north waiting in long line to turn left. Again, overall a decent option but for the price I'd look at other nearby options.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful by answering all of my basic questions prior to our arrival and they were equally as nice in person. The customer service and knowledge at this location is outstanding by far. This was our first time snowmobiling. First time experiencing snow and first time in this area. Our snowmobile worked extremely well and was in nearly new condition. It rode smoothly. The front handles and back handles were heated. The back seat had decent back support. There is a storage box in the back. The best way to describe its size is that you can fit two jansport backpack in there without a problem. The helmets were extremely clean. They offer clothing rental as well. They are extremely professional. Within 48 hours of arrival, they alerted us about a tour cancelation due to lack of snow which is understandable. They provided two alternatives and we chose to rent a snowmobile to explore the area. We appreciated the notice and a comparable option in place of the cancelled one. There's a chef that cooks breakfast (included), and a four-course meal for dinner (extra). Both were excellent. Also as first-time visitors to Big Sky, MT, the staff was extremely helpful in getting us to the best restaurants and nature activities. Everyone working there was extremely nice. However, they seemed understaffed, which obviously isn't the workers fault - they were trying very hard to keep up with interacting with us and the other guests. For such a high-end place otherwise, with a high-end price, I think Collective Retreats should hire more workers.
