Overall a decent option for those wanting to be near the park. The room was clean, somewhat quiet and spacious. While not as nice as the picture showed, it was nice. The walls facing the parking lot are thin, so every horn, car door, etc is audible. They no longer offer breakfast on site. When the reservation was made, breakfast included. They still honored the free breakfast but we were given vouchers for The Branch, which is located a block away at the Holiday Inn, so that's something of a hassle each morning. They also advertise free laundry but every time I went down, all units were occupied and they close the laundry at 9pm. Families would take all units and do multiple loads for honors. The location is convenient for the park because it's located south of the entrance, which makes turning right (east) on Yellowstone Road a lot easier than those who are coming from the north waiting in long line to turn left. Again, overall a decent option but for the price I'd look at other nearby options. read more

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Yellowstone Park Hotel. Customer service is a 5 star and also the chocolate chip cookies that tasted homemade. The (operations) manager was very, very helpful. I love that they communicate via text... that was very useful. The room we stayed in was a double queen and had a lot of room for the three of us. We asked for an adjoined room, since my father in law was going to be with us, and they were able to accommodate us in a short notice. The indoor pool was cool, we used it during our stay. It's located in a great spot where it's walking distance to things to do and places to eat (obviously winter time I wouldn't recommend walking) We will definitely be back. read more

Solid hotel just outside the west entrance to Yellowstone. Located in a super cute town that is really walkable and has tons of cute shops and restaurants - this hotel is comfortable and well-kept. After spending last night in the ancient Old Faithful Inn, this spot is wonderful. Continental breakfast, free s'mores and coffee and tea, free chocolate ice cream and Wi-Fi. Thank god for Wi-Fi. The room is comfy and clean and updated with usb charger plugs by the bedside, a large bathroom with a huge counter easily big enough for two people's things. The bed is really comfy with four large pillows. Check in was easy and service was super friendly. I'm a happy girl. Highly recommend. read more

I do not recommend staying here unless there's no other option. We were charged way - way- way more than this place was worth. They also charge a resort fee even though it's a Motel 6 quality. At least with a motel 6 you expect it. We expected much more. None of the staff was friendly, the breakfast is not good. They advertise an ice cream social but it's basically ice cream put in a little freezer with freezer burn in the lobby. read more

Let me say don't let the poor reviews fool you. I noticed they were over 2 years ago and can say this is NOT that hotel. The staff is amazing and extremely friendly. It's an older hotel but most are here in west Yellowstone. The rooms and hotel are very clean and the extra amenities are awesome. They give out free S'mores kits for fire pits at the front of the hotel and have feee ice cream cups for their "Ice cream social". The also have free washers and driers. Seriously this place is great for the price and we're very pleased with the experience. read more

While everything was clean and most of our needs met, this hotel certainly didn't feel like a 3 star experience. More like a 2.5 or 2 due to the quality of amenities offered. Room- My wife and I were interested in a romantic getaway so we booked the spa suite. While the room was clean and modern, we soon discovered that it was not worth the price. To start, it was on the bottom floor right above the game room where we could hear kids playing and shouting right up until quiet hours. That doesn't exactly set the mood for a couple who are spending their first nights away from the kids. The room was not worth the price. The reason we booked was for the spa tub that looked WAY bigger in the photos. It turned out to be barely big enough for me extremely uncomfortable to sit in and very shallow. Based in the photos we were expecting something closer to a 2 person hot tub and not an upsized bath tub. The bed was a big letdown as well; clearly a cheap mattress with a pillow topper thrown on. This lead to the fitted sheet coming off every time one of us moved. The blanket was extremely heavy and fell off the bed while we were sleeping, leading to some extremely cold nights. The heater was one of those cheap units they install under the windows and always made the room way too hot despite only setting the heat to 70. Overall, fairly disappointing for the premium we paid. Housekeeping- This hotel is clearly stuck in the mid 2000's with the Obama era "green initiatives". Signs all over the room instruct guests to do things like leave towels on the floor if you want them changed. Basic sweeping and cleaning were not done and we ended up having to leave notes for housekeeping to do basic things like change the linens. When I'm paying extra for a suite, I'd expect the housekeeping to pay extra attention and fully swap the linens every day without instruction and fully restock lotions and soaps. The hotel wasn't busy, so rushing through the rooms wasn't necessary. Front desk- While mostly polite, they were not knowledgeable and leaned on a local tour guide who drove a bus around West Yellowstone for local knowledge. We booked a tour at the Grizzly and Wolf wildlife center through the hotel for a discount and were surprised to learn that the front desk had no knowledge that this was something offered through the hotel. We got our tickets eventually, but this should have been known by the front desk. Staff either needs to learn the area better or a concierge should be hired. Extras- continental breakfast was.....disappointing. No attached restaurant, game room was near rooms creating noise. Overall- This hotel has the same flavor as most businesses around West Yellowstone; overrated and lacking with pretty descriptions. In the end, I don't think we will be booking here again. We paid for a luxury experience and got 2 star treatment with a big bathtub. read more

The room was OK nothing special but they switched my reservation from Gray Wolf then to the Yellowstone Park Hotel without telling me until I got here. Then they charge me $10 for holding my credit card which I don't understand. They said I would Get the $10 back when I checked out. The staff was not the friendliest people I've ever met. There are no four or five star hotels around here. Three stars is the highest and this is one of them. I personally thought this place was great. #1- it was clean. #2- It has all the amenities you would want: included continental breakfast, included wi-fi, included unlimited hot chocolate and coffee, cable television, heated pool and hot tub, bicycles that you can check out and use for free, free self-serve laundry facilities, outstanding location near the West entrance to Yellowstone, it's walking distance from the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, as well as the Yellowstone Museum. The service staff was friendly. I bought some locally made mead and needed a cork pull; a staff member promptly brought one to my room. Side note: check out the historical photos of Yellowstone on the walls lining the public hallways and stairwells. Pretty interesting. The only complaint may be that the heater seems to also dehumidify? Or maybe it was just dry because of the ambient weather outside. I don't know. In any event, I would recommend bringing a portable humidifier if you can. read more

We made. Last minute decision that led us to Yellowstone on a July 4th weekend. The busiest time for this area. We called around and this was the only vacancy for a Friday night stay. I don't know anything about the hotel rooms. We stayed in cabin 4. 2 bedrooms with a king in one bedroom and a queen in the other. A pull out in the living room. I am totally impressed with the cabins and the area. They appear to be new. They are beautiful! Beautifully furnished, warm and welcoming. They have a complimentary S'mores kit for making s'mores in the fire pit that sits in the center area of the cabins. They have binoculars, a flash light and a couple of walking sticks for you to use while exploring. The rooms are fully equipped for everything you need to cook your meals. Our cabin has a gas fireplace that comes on with a flip of a switch. Nice! The pool, hot tub, laundry room and gym are at the main hotel. The cabins are amazing and we will most definitely return. read more

So far I am very happy with my stay here. I was actually booked at Gray Wolf Inn originally but I got my nights messed up and called them the day before arrival to see if they could change the night of check in. I was worried since I had booked through Orbitz that this might be an issue. They were actually booked up the night I needed it, but since they also own Yellowstone Park Hotel they were able to move me over here. I was just happy to have a room for the family so expectations were low, but I am very happy with the condition of the room and hotel. It looks new or at least newly refurbished and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. I am seeing comments with disappointment on the breakfast, but I never expect much with complimentary breakfast. Some yogurt, fruit, and coffee is all I need. read more

Great hotel. I had zero expectations (we are from Las Vegas) thinking that no hotel will be good enough for us. However, this one was pretty nice. Great location, very close to the Grizzly and Wolves Discovery Center (walking distance), downtown and super close to the park entrance. Hotel has free ice cream daily, laundry and continental breakfast (oatmeal, kids cereal, coffee, muffins, breakfast bars, yogurt and bananas). Yes, I wish the breakfast was better, but it is what it is. There are plenty of restaurants in town. We all were very pleased. read more

Literally the best hotel ever! Great location, historic feel, and welcoming atmosphere. The concierge were so helpful, understanding, and had everything we needed - including a wine opener we forgot!! How awesome. They gave awesome tips and suggestions for Yellowstone, especially about how the stars are a must-see in the park before ending your day there. They offered to keep open the bonfire area as long as we wanted and provided endless s'mores kits. The rooms were extremely clean, beds were comfy, and the shower necessities they supplied were wonderful. The hotel even had a nice complimentary breakfast every morning that set you up for a long day of exploring. I will recommend this hotel/experience to everyone when visiting Yellowstone! Cereal, waffles, yogurt, and toast. If a tour bus checks in hot water will run out in the evening and breakfast will be crazy in the morning. Overall a fair stay but not worth the price tag. Note: tour buses are almost every day. The owners also own the cabins and the holiday inn. You share (2 each) the washer and dryers with the cabins across the road. This hotel pleasantly surprised me. It's a nice hotel with a "lodge" vibe. And, although the front desk told me the free breakfast wasn't hot, I came down in the morning to find a hot breakfast with little breakfast burritos! I was nice to be able to walk to local restaurants and shops, but be warned: there are a ton of mosquitos! No one in my party made it out bite-free. The front desk was friendly, had free fruit, and also had free detergent to go with their free laundry! After 7 days on the road, hopping from hotel to hotel, it was so nice to have the opportunity to do laundry. But be warned, everyone takes advantage of it! So do laundry at less frequented hours or be prepared to wait to dry your clothes! The business center was very nice and had iMacs for your use. I've never seen a hotel with iMacs in their business center before. The room itself was nice, but nothing special. The bathroom was spacious, but very "yellow" and bland. There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room, but that's exactly it. It's just a microwave stacked on top of a mini fridge, which reminded me of a Freshman dorm room. Cable and wifi were available for free. The beds were comfortable, but I would recommend you bring your own pillow! We stayed here for 3 days in the cabins and it was very nice, clean and spacious. It had a kitchen with everything you need to cook. Extra towels and the bathrobes where a extra treat!! Booked my reservation online a few weeks before actually arriving into Yellowstone.. when we arrived into town earlier than check in allows they permitted us to unload our belongings into the room which was awesome.. the initial impression was that the room was very clean but outdated for the price.. the fresh carnation in the bathroom was a nice touch :D As most other families we spent only a few hours per night in our hotel because we were out all day exploring Yellowstone.. it was nice to enjoy the hot tub and pool after a long day of adventure, the night staff was great in allowing us to stay in the pool until after 10 if we were quiet which was great & we did this on both nights.. There was some confusion as to the location of the game room because the website makes it look like it was on-site when in actuality it was located at a sister hotel a few blocks away.. but the biggest downfall we experienced was the breakfast.. it didn't help that there was a tour bus load of tourists overtaking the dining area both mornings (bad timing on our part maybe) but the breakfast was extremely weak in comparison to most of the other hotels we have stayed in in the past & I mean even the lower scale hotels.. it was as if they gathered all of the left overs from their other nearby hotels and dumped it here for the tourists to eat up :/ the pile of bananas in particular was so spotted that I would have questioned feeding them to a zoo monkey.. and as I watched as a fellow guest sifted thru the bunches I soon learned that I was not alone in my thinking.. in fact one morning we opted to go to McDonalds instead which was thankfully nearby.. The manager when asking me how we enjoyed our stay upon check out on our very last day gave our party of 5 free buffet passes to the Holiday Inn (both places owned by the same company).. the supplemental breakfast was great! now THAT place seems to be way worth the $20 more it would have cost us per night if we would have booked there..!! Terrific hotel. The breakfast spread is the only negative we saw in three days here. The laundry is FREE for guests (yes you heard that right). Nice pool and spa, room is roomy and not stuffy. Good bathroom with good quality products stocked in them. Superb wifi. Highly recommended. That said, they need to put a little non-skid on the first step in the pool. Super slippery - until they do, make sure you have a good grip on the rail as you enter. read more

This hotel (not to be confused with the Yellowstone Park *Inn* elsewhere in town) seems relatively new and reasonably well-kept. It's a short walk to most everything West Yellowstone has to offer in the way of shops and restaurants. We stayed in a room with two queen beds, which was perfectly adequate, aside from the pillows. Four pillows were provided for each bed, but each pillow was little more than a flat foam insert. One pillow by itself offered inadequate support for a side sleeper, while two was too much loft. Usually hotels in this price range offer a mix of feather and foam pillows, so I was disappointed. The breakfast was also not what I expect at this price point. No hot dish, and little variety - I've eaten better at La Quintas. I would consider staying here on a return visit, but I'd look around to see what else was on offer first. read more

We had been in Yellowstone for a day, and had stayed at the Moose Creek Inn prior to switching to this one. My mom had booked the rooms, and the reviews were all negative. I was not worried though, as it looked nice enough. Upon entering the room, my dad entered the bathroom to check the soap for hair. First of all, its in a box! If there is hair on it it is not the hotels fault. Also, there were complaints about non functioning lights and fridges. Well the reason for this is that the fridge must be plugged into the wall, and you must flip those things on the wall called switches to get light. The breakfast may not have had an enormous selection, but the hotel is still very nice. There are plenty of tv channels, and the place is overall very clean and nice. I don't see what all of the fuss is about, but do not let it stop you from staying here. read more

First of all, let's be honest. West Yellowstone is a very seasonal town that makes its living during the 6 months of the year the park is open. This does not make for a bargain hunters dream. Yes, hotel prices are high. This is a fairly typical newer hotel along the lines of a Holiday inn express. The room was clean (no hairy soap). Beds were typical and the place was quiet. I go to Yellowstone to see the beautiful country and abundant wildlife. The hotel is just a place to sleep and shower and recharge for the next day in the park. This hotel was perfectly fine and not deserving of the earlier poor reviews. read more

I made a reservation on line through Galveston.com Reservations about a month and a half ago. I decided to call the hotel directly just to confirm my reservation. They did not have my reservation and no longer have the room available that I'd reserved. I called Galveston.com reservations. They said they had faxed my reservation back when I made the reservation, but they could resend the fax. That's not an option since they don't have that room available now. The lady I talked to at Yellowstone Park Hotel couldn't tell me why they didn't have my reservation other than it might be because they changed management. It looks like there should be a better system set up to make on line reservations. I'm just glad I called to reconfirm. I would have been highly upset to arrive and find I didn't have a reservation. I did notice on the bottom of my confirmation that it said request may not be guaranteed. I have a hotel reservation number. Why isn't it guaranteed? I've now made a reservation at the Hebgen Lake Mountain Inn. I think this is going to turn out for the best anyway. I would advise anybody who made an on line reservation to call the hotel directly to confirm the reservation. read more

Used shampoo bottle in shower. Hair in shower and floor in bathroom. Even if they charged 1/3 of what we paid I'd complain. Do yourself a favor and choose elsewhere. read more

I have four children and although we requested ajoining rooms and even called a week early to request adjoining rooms again, we were not accomodated and were not even close to each other. They swiped my credit card but then lost it. Family in another room were called at 10:45 at night to demand they come down and swipe their credit card again. Someone had smoked in the bathroom and the shower curtain reeked of smoke and had not been changed. Half the towles smelled like smoke and had not been changed. I would not go back. read more

Definelty a 3 star hotel. Rooms are VERY dated. As basic and dated as the tv sits on a very low and old dresser and the fridge is right next to the dresser sitting on the floor and the microwave is glued to the top of the fridge. As far as cleanliness goes, our room was generally clean. We had some towels that had dirt marks and had to get new ones. When we first arrived at our room there were dirty glasses and mugs outside of our room that we tripped over and asked the desk 2x to clean up until they finally did. Breakfast wise, the food is decent. Some foods were frozen over while others were cooked that morning. They have breakfast on the go bags that you have to get the night before because come morning when the tour buses come to take all the breakfast and tables in the dining room, those breakfast bags will be gone. Overall, we were disappointed in our stay at the Yellowstone Hotel, but luckily we were in the park all day which made up for our trip. read more
