I think that the wooden structure of the bridge has been replaced quite recently as it smells like a lumber yard and was nice and bright. The bridge is long-ish, and there is a covered walkway for foot traffic. There's a bit of parking, and you can drive or walk over to a park and small walking trail as well. Not a bad place to stop, but it wasn't as scenic as I had expected. The bathroom was a little scary, but there and free, so just make sure you have wet wipes and go fast.

Someone was fishing off the bridge in there so I guess that's an option if you'd prefer a longer stay. There's a small gift shop that wasn't open when we stopped by. The surrounding park was beautiful. Benches surround the water off the trail in you're interested in stopping to take in the views. The fall colors were stunning in mid November and I felt compelled to walk amongst them, even in the rain.

Book shelves look more organized there is a nice kid section with stairs that's take you to a "treetop" sitting area upstairs. There is a community room that hold certain activities and events. There is some seating in designated areas. There is even a cute fireplace in the room I'm sitting in with tables and comfy chairs. There is a "study area" for school kids. This is the downside. The middle school is right across the street so kids come over after school and wait for their parents to come pick them up. Kids can be loud and abnoxious, talking loudly about alcohol and drugs. *rolls eyes* I know I've been that age before but it's distracting and hard to concentrate on work or reading.. the staff is pleasant and available to help you. I like to come here alot with my laptop and coffee for a nice place other than my house to work and study or just play on my phone. It's a change of scenery and plenty of brightness. It's convenient but could use some help for relieving new books. They can be hard to locate here if there are any. I just like coming here since it's pretty clean and close by.

This place is basically the reason I am a literate adult, hold an MLIS, and had any perspective on the outside world as a child. The collection was old and small. The old building was pretty majestic - a real historic landmark - and I'll never quite forgive them for moving locations. New is not always better. The librarians knew me well. I used to BEG my mom to take us here when we were kids. Not to the movies, not to the mall...to the library. The magic place where I could get BOOKS for FREE. As an adult, I've sought refuge here when visiting the fam as it is probably the only place in Ashtabula County with wireless internet. The best memories of my childhood by far are of the GPL.

There's plenty of parking and a nice walk past the boats docked in the marina to get to the breakwater. The lighthouse is a simple conical tower painted white at the base, green in the center and white at the top. It is perhaps 30 feet tall and it protects the Geneva harbor. The lighthouse is not open to go inside. There are no windows and only a hatch for access. It's definitely not tourist friendly. There were a couple of folks by the lighthouse fishing this evening. I sit at the bar and enjoy a Wine Burger. Just... this is the BEST burger. They DO have wonderful food, and great specials- (of note the Pasta Sunday!) But then if I DON'T get the Wine Burger... I ask myself why didn't I just get the Wine Burger?! lol. To save my poor frazzled mind, that Burger- which is heaven on a plate -is a must. So now I order it and you can change the sides, add a salad- etc. But just get this scrumptious lil slice of Burger Heaven. The service is just fine, but it is slower-so you'll see me scrolling at the bar, yet the food is so worth it. The wine is sweet- as in sticky sweet so if you like the better wineries- Old Mill is those sweet comfort wines. I know what they have and when it's warmer I get a Grindstone Pink, but I like their Chardonnay. For this high palate wine drinker, it's mellow, soft and refreshing. Sure, it's not a high end fancy chard, but it's theirs and I love it. The atmosphere is rustic, cute, funky and casual. I love sitting outside too in the spring/summer. This is my spot. I'll bring friends visiting the area here (to get my Wine Burger- lol). What usually happens is that everyone orders something else and then my Wine Burger arrives. "Oh wow, that looks awesome." "I should've ordered that- maaaan that looks good!" "Hey you don't want to trade do you?" "Oooh! Can I try a little bite?!" No. Get your own. I warned you and I will fight you on this. lol! So go here and always get the wine burger and you'll leave with a tummy full of joy and a smile. This little place may not be a fancy, high end dining experience- but to me it's laid back, delicious- pure joy. It doesn't need fancy trappings or even expensive prices. It's home.
