As a lifelong area resident, I'm shocked I waited so long to visit Cheekwood! The incredible home…read moreand gardens are a great way to spend a day. From the beginning, the experience was wonderful. After leaving our car and scanning our tickets, there were multiple employees to direct us and answer any questions. We began by exploring the gardens. My personal favorite was the sculpture walk, with several different sculptures hidden around every corner. We then took a self-guided tour of the historic mansion. The mansion is decorated with items from the Cheek family collection, as well as donated items and rotating art exhibits. I particularly loved the wood paneled library and the small morning/dining room. Definitely the place to come if you want some design inspo! Be prepared to walk when you visit. We arrived around 10:30 on a weekend, and were directed to park in the overflow parking. The overflow lot requires a walk on gravel/rock with a slight incline. Although the site is huge, there are plenty of benches and three different restrooms. There are limited food options, but we were able to bring sandwiches and enjoy lunch in the water garden. When visiting, don't miss the iconic Wisteria Arbor or the stables!

I only attended the garden due to time since I had to be back on the road for home. I was able to walk 3/4 of the garden within 2 hours so I say there is much to see and admire. I was able to take photos with ease and I enjoyed that I wasn't the only one carrying a camera. 1 thing I didn't like is that the paid parking is on a steep hill and basically dirt. It was only $7 ($5 + $2 fee) but i would've hoped for something a bit better. So carry your good shoes in your hand.

Quite a way away from our hotel in the Gulch area, but on my go to list…read more Welcomed quickly and nicely, told there was about a 10-minute wait. We were seated in the main area and our server stopped by quickly, she was great, went over the menu and made suggestions when we had questions. I tried the Nashville Amber beer; it was very smooth and light and I enjoyed it. We started with the Big Italian salad, it was enough to split, I got it without cheese. It was great. I am newly into olives so I ordered Olives and Oven Bread. I wasn't a fan of the olives, they were so hot temperature wise, I couldn't eat them till after the pizza, and they were just to much seasoning for me. I loved the Oven bread. Crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. A great char from the oven. For pizza we ordered the classic Margherita and added pepperoni. I was delicious! Lots of pepperoni, great chew on the crust. yum! On our way out we chatted with the manager, he was super nice and I enjoyed talking food with him. My reason for visiting Nashville on the heels of watching Somebody Feed Phil and Nashville eateries featured on Diners, Diners, and Drives. Great visit!

My husband and I had our wedding at Nicky's Coal Fired, and we could not recommend it enough…read more Caroline, the co-owner was quick to answer our inquiry, provided us a PDF of what they offer for private events and quoted us a very reasonable price for a food and drink minimum for 120 guests for a seated dinner. Their food and drink minimum included set up, clean up, servers, bartenders, A/V system, plenty of free parking, and a day of coordinator who was amazing. We met with our day of coordinator, Katie, a couple of times before the wedding, and she was also very easy to communicate with via e-mail. She made the day of our wedding run very smoothly so we didn't have to worry and were able to enjoy ourselves. Nicky's also has a lovely atmosphere with a modern and industrial feel, with brick walls, high ceilings, large windows, wood floors, mid-century modern art and lighting. Our guests had a great time and still talk about the food, especially the focaccia bread. The staff start prepping the food well before Nicky's opens and make everything from scratch including their bread, pasta, and pizza dough, which is very evident in its fresh taste. Before and after our wedding, we have dined-in several times and have always had excellent, friendly service. Our favorite night to go to Nicky's is Tuesdays for the $10 pizza. I recommend Nicky's to anyone looking to plan an stress-free private event with yummy, fresh food or just looking for a quick and delicious meal at a cozy, locally-owned Italian restaurant. It's great for large parties or small, and they now offer reservations online.

Maggiano's Little Italy - The Four-Cheese Ravioli comes with a strip of marinara, which I declined. It was pretty good.

He was correct, it was fabulous! From the moment we walked in until the moment we walked out, everything was perfect, and the food was delicious. We were treated like family! Our server, Aliison was so attentive from the moment we walked in, and again, to the moment we walked out! Our 44th wedding anniversary celebration is something that we, Pam and Dan Smith will never forget. Thank you again to all the staff, especially Allison and Kelsey!

We had Emily and a gentleman she was training as our servers. Emily was phenomenal, very personable and accommodating. She provided recommendations and was ready to fix anything that may have been wrong with the drinks or food. She would be the perfect example to pattern yourself after in the service industry. If you can request a server, ask for Emily. Food was amazing and seasoned to perfection. Hats off to the cooks and all their hardwork in the kitchen. Beef Medallions with mashed potatoes- 5/5 utter perfection from the cook on the steak (medium rare) to the sauce that complimented the meal well. The branzino- 5/5 The blackened salmon- 3/5 I didn't care for the assorted sautéed peppers placed on top. They did bring color to the plate, but no extra added flavors. I didn't have room for dessert, but I heard the butter cake was a must to try.
