We left our "problem child" with WMK9 for a 4 week stay and train. The changes in our dog when we picked her up were so incredible... her attitude and manners were night and day better. Our stay and train was back in June, so we are a couple months removed from the program and the improvements and growth we are still seeing from our pup continue to amaze us. Nate has been so absolutely amazing from start to finish. We have done 3 follow-up sessions with him so far since the stay and train, and love working with him. He answers all our questions, no matter how dumb or repetitive they may be, and makes things fun and easy to understand. You can really see his passion and love for working with dogs, and his excitement when hearing our successes just about matches ours. My favorite part of the whole program is the fact that Nate has taught us and made sure we understand how to properly communicate and work with our pup in the most beneficial way for all of us. They do not make your dog into the perfect dog, but they do give you the best foundation to work with and ALL the keys and knowledge you need to give your dog the best life you can, no matter what your training goals may be. I sent my dog Trace for a 4week stay and train due to what I thought was aggressive behavior but turned out he was just a little socially awkward!! Nick and the rest of the team was really great to talk to and super helpful with any questions I had. Getting my dog back after the training has been amazing!! He has been so responsive and obedient and confident. I've been able to safely take him places and enjoy different activities with him now without having to worry about bad behaviors!! Sending him for training was the best decision I have made and now I have a lifetime of great experiences and adventures waiting for me and my dog all because of the care and time this team has put into him!! We brought our dog Grizzly into WMK9 for the 4 week stay and train program. It was a great experience. The team there truly cared about our girl for the 4 weeks and made us feel at peace with leaving her there. They kept us informed with her training and well being. When we picked her up they took their time to go over all her new skills and make sure we were comfortable and confident with everything they taught her before bringing her home. Grizzly was a reactive, timid, and "selective" listener when we brought her in. She had learned to be more confident when engaging with people. Quick to listen to all our commands. The quality of care and training are exceptional. I had a dog that was out of control until I brought them to West Michigan K9. I got Abigail as a rescue pup but noticed as she was aging that she was having behavioral issues that caused concern such as being aggressive which was unacceptable. I didn't want to give her up so I thought I'd give her one more chance and get training to address the behavioral issues. West Michigan K9 to the rescue. Through their training Abigail has become the dog that I hoped she would become. Can't thank West Michigan K9 enough for the excellent job they have done. We couldn't be happier with Finn's 4-week stay and train. Having dogs in our lives for as long as we can remember only partially prepared us for the unique needs of a higher drive dog like Finn. West Michigan K9 was amazing. They gave me all the tools I needed to be successful at training my dog and getting him to obey commands. His leash manners now are incredible I'm 6'2 and 300lb and I could barely walk him before. Now my wife and daughter can walk my 80lb Doberman by themselves and don't have to worry about what's going to happen. Last October my boxer Jax participated in the four week program. His trainer Dawson was amazing. Lately Jax has been struggling with some obedience issues, and we went back for a follow-up with Dawson. Dawson worked with both Jax and I on correcting Jax's issues. Other trainers also helped out. I already notice a change in Jax's behavior this evening. The trainers not only train the pups, but train owners as well. Dawson and the entire staff are amazing.
