My dog Kobe (4 months) taking a stroll

First time here and me and the pup loved it. Early Saturday is not very busy. For almost 20 minutes we had the entire park to ourselves. I love the separation they have for large and small dogs and the amenities are awesome. You can play fetch or frisbee, and they even have a pool near the water station for the dogs to cool off. There was plenty of seating to relax. As more guest came there was quite a mix of dogs and although my dog is not a small breed it was the smallest compared to the other dogs in the large dog section being that he is still a puppy. I was a bit annoyed as a certain dog continued to be aggressive not only to my puppy but to other dogs as well. The owner was not taking responsibility as best as he should have. There is a time out station available as well to give your dog a break if there is too much excitement happening. I will continue to come to this dog park.

The story you are about to read is true. This is small town America, Winter Garden, Florida. My name is Alice, I wear a harness. August 1st, 2010 my duty station was changed from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Winter Garden, Florida. My new commanders seem capable enough for humans. This is my After Action Review for the West Orange Dog Park, which I scouted out soon after arriving in town. The park is camouflaged from the road by heavy tree cover. The exercise yards are segregated by size and being a Bull Terrier, I only sniffed at the edges of the area reserved for smaller recruits. The human staging area for vehicles is a dirt lot, which is easy on the paws, and helps when bringing soil samples back to the barracks. The humans did not seem as pleased with this. Once inside the large dog enclosure I notice a human walking path around the circumference of the park. There are human benches every few yards as well as a couple of covered tables and some CODE RED - TENNIS BALL SPOTTED - MUST CATCH AND DESTROY! Sorry about that - must focus on the mission. The area has a watering area that seems perpetually muddy. A fine area for rolling, though, again, commanders not as pleased. A large part of this experience is in the other recruits that train here...for the most part, discipline seems fair, though there are a few screw ups (there always are) - This park has two time out areas that... CODE RED - SQUIRREL - MUST DESTROY...TARGET EVACUATED TO TREE - ALERT REINFORCEMENTS! Sorry again...Final Summary: The Good: Lots of shade and decent company The Bad: Mulch, mud and dirt means bath time back at the barracks The Ugly: No grass at all inside the fenced area

The best thing about this dog park!? LOTS O SHADE. Dog owners know how rare this is. Standing in the dirt in the hot sun has become so standard. This place is all shade! Loves: -shade -lots of benches for me to sit! -bowls for water -obstacles for the dogs -never overly crowded like Fleet Peoples Boos: -there is no grass it is all dirty mulch, so wear bug spray because there are so gangs a roamin this place -there are only bags by some of the trash cans for #2 All in all, highly recommend!

This is a great dog park. Lots of shade, and two large sections to keep the bigger dogs and smaller dogs separate (although there is some crossover from time to time, when owners know that their dogs can socialize nicely with dogs of all sizes). There are almost always friendly faces, as the park seems to be a favorite for many dog owners in the area. I always make sure to wear closed-toe shoes, because mulch/dirt in flip flops is no bueno - even though there are paved paths, I will inevitably end up in the mulch at some point! Doggie always needs a bath after the park, but it's worth it because she always has such a good time with her puppy pals!

This park is the BOMB. Never crowded, and with an area for larger dogs and one for the small yippy dogs, you can't go wrong. It is designed very very well, and not only comfortable to come to and enjoy with your dogs, but spacious and laid out in a way that makes both pet and human really relax under the tall trees. The area is open and bordered by a couple of schools in the distance, and few cows in their yard across the parking lot. GO HERE...IT IS THE BEST DOG PARK I HAVE EXPERIENCED

Dog park looked clean and stable. The benches all look to be in good shape and the mulch that was on the ground looks like it was all in order clean and not in disarray. I don't understand why there is a huge herd of cattle literally 40 feet away on the other side of the parking lot but that is a whole Other issue. Lol

This is a really clean and friendly dog park. People always pick up after their dogs and themselves. They have 2 sections that separate the bigger dogs and the smaller ones. The people are pretty friendly around here too.

There weren't many small dogs when we went so my 15 pound dog went in the large dog section to have company They were friendly as were the pooches parents.

A sweetheart from the group arrived at 6 am and was able to secure a nice pavilion on the lakeside, adjacent to the restrooms and across from plenty of parking. The pavilion come with a grill (we didn't use) and a large trash bin nearby. The area had a few trees around and was nicely shaded, this made the combination of good weather result in a really good experience. There is a nice trail for walking, hiking and cycling. Near the parking, there is a play area for children and a fenced dog park area. Overall, I thought I had a good experience and think that it is a fabulous area. I do hope to get back out here at some point in the future.

Lake Hiawatha Preserve Park - Frisbee Golf (Disc Golf Course)…read more Finally, a legit 18-hole disc golf course near Clermont, Florida. It's also a great place to bring your dogs! They have a nice fenced in area to let your dogs mingle and play with other dogs off the leash and there's a trail and some back country you can take them and run with. The good: - Solid mix of wooded technical holes and a few open bombers around the lake. Holes 4-8 along the water are gorgeous, especially at sunset. - Tee pads are concrete and in great shape (huge upgrade from the old rubber mats). - New Mach X baskets catch well and the bright yellow bands make them easy to spot. - Multiple pin positions on several holes keep it fresh -- they move them every few months. - Free parking, clean porta-potty near hole 1, and the course flows really well. Rarely any backups even on weekends. The "eh": - Can get soggy after rain (bring boots in spring). A couple fairways hold water like a sponge. - Hole 13's long position is a total prayer across the marsh -- fun once, frustrating the other 19 times. Highly recommend for intermediate and up. Beginners might get humbled on the back 9, but that's how we all learn! Will keep coming back. 4.5 stars rounded down only because mother nature still wins sometimes.
