This is my go to dog park, I'm here at least once a week. It's always a great group of people that are very respectful and keep track of their dogs. The big dog area is a very good size, so even when I was there today with 11 other dogs it wasn't crowded and ever and had their room to run. Since my guy is small, I do sometimes go in a small dog section, it's not massive, but it's still a good size. Both areas are mulched with plenty of shade, honestly it's mostly all shade covered, which is lovely for the hot summers lol. There is both a doggy water fountain and water bowls out and a hose to fill them so there's plenty of water, and if you need to hose down your dog from all the dirt and playing there's a hose for that too !! Personally, I prefer a grass dog park, but I know that's hard to find, and even harder to maintain lol read more

This is a well maintained dog park. The separated areas for small dogs & large dogs is a great idea. Both areas are large enough for the dogs to have plenty of room to run & play. The trees actually had a few squirrels which seemed to love teasing the dogs thus providing exercise. Lol Instead of grass or dirt the areas are covered in wood chips which I thought makes a nice "floor." There's even a fire hydrant provided in the large dog area. Shovels are provided for cleanup. Overall this is one of the best dog park I've seen. read more

Four stars for this dog park in Altamonte Springs. today I was in Altamonte Springs getting my dog's teeth cleaned and wanted a place to stop and let her play after her cleaning. I would like to say any dog park is a good dog park, and thank the city for adding a spot for our fur babies to play. Today was my first time here. the park offers a very large area for the large dogs with a concrete walking path. The small dog area has a small path, water station and a bench to sit on. The only thing I could suggest for this park would be some kind of plastic activity station for the small dog area, for them to play on like the one in Sanford. This park is located near a residential area. It has plenty of parking. Right next to the dog park is a children's park. But I am unsure if you can bring the dogs in that area as I did not go over there. This park is a nice spot to stop and spend some time with your fur baby. Shady, muddy, nice people and pups! Seems safe to me. Some dog parks are a little scary for me as one of my dogs is an escape artist!

My family recent found this local dog park and we (and of course, the dog) have been loving it! It's open and spacious and has everything a dog would want. Trees, dirt/sand, grass, pre-dug holes (thank you other doggies), and a big pile of mulch lol. I highly recommend this park! There is a little area in the front designated for small dogs and the large dog area is well, large! Just the other day, we were visited by a beautiful owl that perched itself right up on a tree branch for all of us to see. I highly recommend taking your pup here at least once. read more

My dog loves it here. I like that there's tons of shade and benches. It's also big enough for the dogs to run and play but small enough that it's easy to keep an eye on your dog. There are separate sections for small and big dogs, but the small dog section is a little on the small side itself and it's usually empty, so I typically bring my dog in with the big ones. I wish there were a washing station because the ground is mulch and dirt. Be prepared to come home with an exhausted but dirty dog. read more

Great shades and big area for your fur baby to run without getting overheated. I recently discovered this place because it's open every day of the week unlike the other one by winter springs high school. There's plenty of space for both big and small dogs ( it's separated) but they can meet through the wire fence and sniff at each other if they wanted. There are 4 benches for owners to sit on while watching their dogs chase each other. There is a water hose in the middle of the park and a big bowl filled with water. In terms of obstacles for dogs, it's mostly natural obstacles like big tree branches. There's a trail inside the big dog park area where owners can walk or run without worrying about stepping on some 'gold'. The rest is filled with mulch and lots of tree leaves. Obviously there's also dog bags available and trash cans for owners to clean up after their dogs. Unfortunately, some dogs can't finish their business in one spot because they're being chased down in the middle of it. So owners can't keep track of their dogs and leave some behind. I was lucky enough to step on someone's dog poop :( Most dogs here are friendly. At the beginning new dogs will get chased down a bit but after meeting each other they're just fine. One thing though, I wouldn't come after rainy days. There's a mud pit area that dogs love to play in. It will be a pain to clean them up after a rough play. read more

I met some friends here recently for a doggie meetup. I hadn't been before, but a friend suggested it and it was close by. Pawmosa Dog Park is one acre of shaded space designed just for playful pups! 6 ft. fences and separate areas for large and small dogs ensure that there is safe space for all! Each area has doggie stations, trash receptacles, watering stations, benches, fire hydrants, and even a time out area for the occasional misbehaving pooch. All of us had bigger dogs, so we stuck to the large dog area. One of the best things about this park is that it is mostly shaded. This really comes in handy when its already 80 degrees and super humid at 9 am. Pepper loves the dog park but its getting harder and harder to take her in the summer. Pawmosa is a good option for when she needs to get her run on in the summer time. Event though the park is advertised as "covered with wood mulch," there wasn't much mulch to be found. One of our group said she hadn't been there in awhile but the last time she was there it was all mulch. It could just be that its the middle of summer (and the rainy season) and it doesn't make sense to try and keep up with it. But just keep that in mind if you are heading out there soon.... especially if your pup is a digger. Most dog parks have the same basic rules: clean up after your dog, don't bring aggressive dogs, and your dog must be fixed. This last one really is pretty important. Someone showed up with a male dog that hadn't been fixed and he wouldn't leave the female dogs alone. I mean, he was doing stuff that if he was a human he would have been arrested for. Dogs that haven't been fixed tend to be more aggressive, which is the main reason bringing them isn't a good idea. So please keep this in mind when thinking about going to a dog park. read more

At first it looks like a nice park, but not true, the fecal matter is not pick up by dog owners. Owner no where near their dogs. 100 , 200 ft away ,allowing their pets to run up on other growling . When you tell the owner be responsible , they just walked away without their dog. As a 30+yr dog obedience trainer i do not recommend this park till someone starts maintaining it other then the users..never see so much dog poop in a park..I give no stars... read more

I never planned on taking my dog to any dog park originally, but I decided to when a supervisor/coworker/friend suggested to take my first dog there to burn out his energy with other dogs. I decided to give it a try and it's been fine the first few days, Archie was so happy to go make new doggy friends. He was always excited to go back, which the first couple days despite no grassy area it seemed fine just harder to find the dog's poop and some owners didn't pick up after their dog since it's hard to find where your dog went sometimes. Other owners were nice, but a couple of owners don't pay attention to their dogs busy talking or on their phones. A few do pay attention to their dogs though and will go up to the gate with their dog, but when my dog Archie got attacked by one of the other dogs as I was about to take off his leash to go play, no other owners were near the front gate when it happened and the owners of that dog that caused my dog to have a bite wound in his right ear took a while to respond to getting their dog away from mine and only one other owner stepped in when they noticed it happened, everyone else just watched it happen. Ever since the incident my dog who was the friendliest dog now is still traumatized and now is scared of every person/dog they come across. It breaks my heart to see him like this when he loved meeting new people and new dogs. The only good things I did like is it has a small dog and large dog area, place for your dog to get water, poop bags, benches, and plenty of shade. Although I don't think I'll be bringing my dog back to this dog park once he gets comfortable again around other dogs or any dog park, might consider just a doggy daycare where staff actually are watching all the dogs just still figuring that out. read more

I really liked having our Central Florida French Bulldog Meetup here. It's about 25 minutes from my house but it was worth it. We met at 9 am on Saturday morning. We are all worried about the Florida heat and our Frenchies but this park was great! We went on the large dog side which was completely canopied by tall trees. It was great! There was plenty of fire hydrants for the doggies to tee tee on and a watering station when the needed a drink or to hose them off when they got dirty. There hasn't been much rain so we didn't have to worry about mud or muck like the other reviews stated. There were benches to sit on while our doggies played and plenty of room for them to explore. Since I moved from south Orlando to Altamonte a few months ago, I've had a hard time getting my dogs out and about for off-leash exercise. I recently came across the Pawmosa Dog Park in Casselberry, a short 10 minute drive from my house. It's an absolute lifesaver! Pawmosa has just enough fans to keep my crazed dogs entertained, but isn't overly crowded like the Blachard Park/UCF area dog park can be. It has a separate little dog play area, which is great since my 60 lb mutt can sometimes overwhelm the pocket pups that hang out at Fleet Peeple's Park. The benches are in shaded areas, which is great considering the Florida heat, and the park has just enough trees to keep the dogs cool, too. Another great thing about the park is there are plenty of tennis balls and several drinking fountains- most of the other parks I've visited don't have too many toys for the four-legged set. This is also the first park I've seen that does events with local pet vendors, including discount bathing and treats from a nearby pet store. While I do wish they'd re-mulch the ground, as the mud is a bit of a pain to deal with when heading back home, it's a minor issue and they do provide a hose-down area. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, you can entertain and bathe your dog while letting your kids burn some energy on the playground next door. All in all, Pawmosa is a great people and pet-friendly park that both of my dogs love visiting. I don't mind the trip myself! read more

I bring buddy here quite often... I just wish they would A. install lights so dogs can play in the wee morning or the early evenings B. COMPLETELY mulchify the place... instead of leaving patches of black dirt (the color of buddy by the end of his play day) Other than the two mentioned above, I totally dig Pawmosa. I recently adopted a very shy Jack Russell puppy who is no bigger then a 2 liter bottle of soda and weighs just as much or less. I searched for dog parks in my area that could accommodate my new pup since my normal visits to Fleet Peeples would be out of the questions. I stumbled upon Pawmosa and decided to give it a shot. The park is tucked away in a quite neighborhood right off 17-92. Each time I've taken an after work trip to the park, the park has been relatively empty with a handful of happy dogs all behaving nicely. What I liked most about this park and why I made the switch was its small dogs attachment. The small dog area of the park was perfect for my shy little jack. This way she is able to play with dogs her size and not worry about being run over by the larger ones. If I had a large or overly hyper dog, I'm not sure Pawmosa would be the place for me, but thanks to its low key, quiet atmosphere it's the perfect fit for me. read more

This smaller dog park offers sides for large and small dogs. The large dog side has a circular pathway and a few benches and poop bag stations. The trees provide some decent shade from the sun. Water fountain areas are also available. My biggest complaint is that the area is all sand and much and has no grass areas. My dog can get quite muddy in a park that doesn't offer grass. read more

Great little dog park close to home. Lots of big trees and shade. There are even doggie bags for owners to pick up after their dogs. There is a small and large sized dog area. We usually go with the large dog area. The grounds are covered with mulch which makes it hard to locate your pups poo if you're not watching them closely! Ha! Water hoses and bowls are also available for your pets. I usually change them out if the water looks murky. There are benches surrounding the park which are great for the owners. Like any dog park, keep an eye on your pups because some owners do not and that's when accidents happen. Otherwise, it's a nice getaway for a few hours with my dogs and afterwards, they are wiped out the rest of the day! :) read more

Good dog park to come on a hot Florida day. This dog park is completely shaded with plenty of trees. If you want to take your dogs in the middle of a hot summer day this is the place. As others mentioned there is no grass, all mulch. I would rather have grass but not a big deal. There are separate areas for big and small dogs. The small dog never gets to busy. I like how the large dog area has a sidewalk that goes around in a circular path. The small one just has a straight strip. I like to walk while my dogs are here, that is the only way one gets her work out! read more

Nice park, very shady. As others mentioned, it's divided into Large/Small dog areas. The Large dog area is huge and the dogs seemed to be having fun. The small dog area is not as big and also doesn't seem to be very busy, at least not the times that we visited. Sad for my little dog because she really wants to play with a small pack. In the evening, be prepared to swat mosquitoes or have some bug spray ready. They're voracious little buggers! I am not a super fan of mulch but understand that with so much shade here, there's no way to grow grass. For grassy play, we prefer Hound Ground, just a few miles down the road. One thing I did notice when observing the big dog area is that there were several dog owners who come to sit/read and don't really interact much with their dog. Anyway, they've done a pretty good job of making use of space and it's in a quiet neighborhood, definitely worth checking out! read more

This is a nice park with nice people and dogs BUT there needs to be MORE MULCH put down. Right now there are sticks from the trees on the ground which have made my dogs FEET BLEED a little. He has puppy pads at home and when we get home and he walks on them it leaves small spots of blood. There has been mulch put in the large dog park several times but not in the small dog section. The large dogs tear up the dirt more than little dogs which I understand is why they need mulch but the small dogs need a safe surface to walk on. read more

Visited recently for a UYE pup meetup. We primarily hung in the big dog area. I like that there is plenty of seating, shade, pick-up bags and receptacles... there are even cute little fire hydrants to mark. The park is about an acre which provides plenty of room pups to romp, throw sticks, and sniff about without getting out of their owners' sight (it is fully fenced, so no worries even if you're not a helicopter pup parent like I am). Of note, there is a doggie timeout in both areas if your pup gets too rambunctious - I saw a woman use this with her very talkative little dog in the hopes that s/he would calm down a bit! In the morning hours, we found the park to be not at all crowded. At 8:45am, we were the only people there. More people started to show up around 10am or so. It would be nice if they would re-mulch the park, because the recent rains have rendered the area a bit muddy and as everyone at the meetup can attest, Barclay thought it would be great to dig and roll around. There is a hose for impromptu bathtime, but no real designated washing station. The parking lot was also muddy, so plan to carry a wet dog back to your car if this paragraph applies to you. read more

I have been enjoying this dog park for several years as I really like the seperation of the dog sizes keeping the smaller dogs from the larger ones. Plus the big shade trees and the convenient location. But recently I have had to make several calls to City Hall and finally speak to the correct person to inform them the parking area was in horrible shape after getting stuck in the mud. And recently the park is in much need of several truck loads of mulch for the dogs not get so muddy. Now I find out the dog park is under renovation and is closed for 5 weeks. Not sure why a few improvements should take that long at the nicest time of year.hopefully it will be even better. read more

So the sign on the door for the big dog area, says no aggressive dogs allowed ( i have a pitbull, not aggressive ). I was already iffy about the dog park as it was my first time going here, but i'm like i haven't taken my dog to a dog park in a while let me just take her. Upon going in , there was already a group of ppl sitting on a bench chit chatting with their dogs, my dog came in, minding her business, one on the dogs came to my dog and started playing with her, therefore getting my dog hyper and wanting to play, fine, my dog likes to park while running, i guess the other dog owners thought that as aggressive and were looking at me to get my dog, if your dog can't take a little rough playing they shouldn't be at a dog park. Main reason for this post, don't go to this park if you have a dog who EVERYONE thinks is an AGGRESSIVE BREED. read more

It's a fairly decent dog park and my dog really enjoys it. We come every weekday and spend between 1-2 hours here. For the most part, I would recommend this for any one who has a dog and lives close by. It's a fairly decent size. There are plenty of trees for shade. There's a bathing pad with a giant bowl for water. There's plenty of trash cans and poop bag dispensers. For the most part, the dogs and their humans are nice and welcoming. There's a little trail that you can walk with your dog that leads to a kids play area that's almost right next door. So it's a great place to go if you have older kids that can watch themselves(or if you bring your partner) in the playground while the dog plays in the park. There's also a separate place for little dogs and big dogs, along with doggy timeout areas. And plenty of seating, provided there isn't a lot of people. However, I had to rate it 3 stars. As others have commented, it's pretty much nothing but dirt, which means my dog is FILTHY after just a few moments. The concrete water pad is in the middle of the shaded area and the dirt around it is all mud. It's also in the middle of where all the dogs play and more than a few times dogs knock each other onto the ground or the raised concrete pad. Today my dog was slammed fairly hard into the raised edge and ended up hurting his hip and is STILL limping. I really wish they'd put in more sod or something and move the water pad to a safer location. Also, there are no bathrooms or sinks or even some kind of antibacterial wipe to clean your hands after you've cleaned up after your dog. There are some fake fire hydrants and they're also in the wrong spots. I'm waiting for a dog to slam into one of them and really hurt themselves. My last big complaint isn't something that the park is really responsible for I guess, but I'm going to mention it for full disclosure. Most of the dogs are great who come in, but every day I've been there, there have been at least one dog who is aggressive. Sometimes in the course of the hour or two I'm there, I'll run into 3 or 4. And they're not aggressive toward people. Only other dogs who happen to have found one of the handful of tennis balls. And then they go straight from angel to crazy homicidal dogs. The 2nd time going, my dog was straight up attacked by a Shepard mix for walking by him when he had a ball. Today my dog was attacked and held down to the ground where the other dog snapped at his neck, shoulders and ears. The other dog drew blood (not much, but enough.) and was the reason my dog slammed so hard into the edge of the pad. And a woman who came in with an infant (seriously lady?!) kicked my dog for sniffing at the car seat. Between all that, we left early because I had to get my dog checked out at the vet and I couldn't bear to see him used as chew toy by the other dogs (he's only 10 months, so he's pretty submissive to the older dogs.) I wish there was some kind of attendant there to try and keep an eye on the repeat offenders, so they can do something to cut back on all the aggressive dogs. read more

Ive been to this park many times. The first several were very pleasant! My dog had fun. But I quickly realized it depended on the day. If you go to this park any day near or on the weekend, you get the worse sort of people. It's never the dogs...its the people. They are very clique like and they crowd in a circle to gossip and not watch their pups. So their dogs are getting into scuffles and running amuck with no supervision. The last time I went to this park, less than a week ago, some highschoolers playing on the basketball court were teasing and taunting the dogs while hitting their basketball against the fence. Though my dog wasn't buying into the burnouts taunting, I was the one who had to walk across the park to tell them to piss off. Than of course you have the people who bring dogs that shouldn't go to a dog park. Overall, I'd only go to this park if you're desperate. They recently had a "remodel" and I didnt notice a difference afterwards. There's a nicer dog park by the winter springs high school. read more

Went to this park for the first time today even though it was a little far from my place. There was plenty of shade, water for the pup and lots of other dogs for her to play with. The only announce was a woman who had her small aggressive dog in the large dog part area. He kept cornering my female husky and barking like mad, but the owner finally got the hint and left. Also there was some dog poop hidden among the mulch. Overall a nice park though and worth the drive. read more

It's not the best dog park, but it's pretty good. There is a small dog area, and a big dog part. I have found the people there are generally nice. I have two corgis, who are herding dogs and are often to rough for small dogs so I usually take them to the big dog part without any trouble. Some dog parks are clearly segregated by big dogs being owned by jerks, and pushing smaller dogs to the tiny dog part. This park doesn't seem to have dog park bullies. It's nice and shaded, great for summer, however my guys do get dirty sometimes. read more

Pawmossa Dog Park, a fun take on the street name it resides on- Plumosa Ave., is a great park in the heart of Casselberry. It has a large area for the average sized dog or for little fearless breeds as well as a nice area for small dog breeds. I'd say about half an acre and 1/4 that respectively for each group. Enough space for your pet to really go for a good run embracing their little slice of freedom on a Sunday afternoon. There is plenty of shade from large trees throughout so even in the hot Florida sun the pooches can get some exercise without their owners suffering a heat stroke. There are water faucet areas on both sides of the park for washing muddy paws and sometimes taking a swig as well as water fountains for thirsty visitors. Many benches are dotted along the perimeters for owners to sit and chat while watching their pup make new friends. This park has a woodsy feel both you and your canine companion will love. read more

This isnt my favorite off leash dog park, but it's close to my new digs. Ive been going to Barber and Fleets for the longest time so this one is a little smaller than what Im used to. I like the amount of tree coverage, that is definitely a plus. What I don't like is the layout. It has sidewalks that loop around in somewhat of a circle, and around that is mulch. Im not a big fan of mulch, but its ok, my dog doesnt know the difference. However the disadvantage of mulch is when it rains hard... oh lord. Prepare for mud. Due to the amount of shade, it takes a few days or so to dry out back into dirt. The parking lot is mulch too so it can get soupy. Luckily I take my awesome 93 Nissan pickup for dog park outings, or else I would have been stuck in the parking soup last time I was there. Its close by so I go. I think it would be better with a concrete parking lot and maybe some grass. Better yet, some artificial turf. Now that would be cool. read more

We started going here when our first born puppy was just 4 months old. After trying Fleet's people park which I found way too overwhelming with no one watching their dogs while they tried to hump and knock over my poor little lab, and Hound Ground in Winter Springs which has pratically no shade and gets unbearably hot most days for me and my doggies we found Pawmosa. Even after moving further away my husband and I prefer to drive the extra 15 minutes to come here. It's big enough for both my over 50lb children to run around and get tired out, but small enough that everyone watches their pets and it doesn't get too crazy. There are neighbor regulars that are at the park practically every time we make an appearance. In all my trips there I only encountered one aggressive dog and the owner was told very quickly by everyone that their dog's behavior was not tolerated. For us it's the perfect park and worth the drive. read more

Starting tomorrow the city is going to be working on the park. I hope they intend to do something with the parking lot. The mud is awful. I've seen pickup trucks stuck in it. Once three or four guys were trying to free one from the muck. The new rules sign finally addresses aggressive dogs. I've seen and heard more "dog spats" caused by dogs that want to be dominate over others. Then the owners take a position that they are only "playing". Obviously, those dogs are smarter that their owners. read more

People frequently bring aggressive dogs to this park and don't clean up after them. I have been going here for about a year and after my dog was bit resulting in 4 puncture wounds I have finally had enough. Fleet people's park is a much friendlier place for dogs to play. read more
