Such a neat place located right in the heart of Apopka. They have multiple caged off areas for different sized dogs, and each is truly large. Our small Labradoodle just loves it here. The ground is grassy, not very muddy at all (which of course is great for cleanliness of your dog). They have water fountains that pour into a bowl for your dog to enjoy. There is shade as well for you to get out of the sun. Overall, a great experience for both the owner and the dog. Just be sure to follow the rules, specifically on size. There are always exceptions, and you know your dog best, but overall they are there for protection. read more

I still love this dog park, years after my initial review. We try to make a point to come here more often since our vet's office is so close. There are still separate dog parks based on the size of your dog so try to follow accordingly. I, personally, am not a stickler about that because I have dogs of multiple sizes that play well with each other. Also, I am not the dog park police. Just use good judgment I guess. Unfortunately, on several occasions, I've witnessed too many scenarios involving dogs that resulted in injury. I know that most folks don't like dog parks because of these reasons . Just my 2 cents: 1) ALWAYS have a collar on your dog. I made a point to let a young owner know whose dog was involved in an incident. He had no way to get a good grip on. If you think your dog is highly reactive, have a leash at a quick moments reach at all times. 2)Dog parks are not adult social time only. WATCH your dog and address behaviors that affect my dog(ex your dog continuously humping mine) , pick up their poop and keep a close eye no matter how "friendly" your dog is. 3) If your dogs are not spayed/neutered or are highly reactive, please stay away from the parks. This is even stated on the signs as you're entering park. Better safe than sorry! Love this park and will continue to come back. . The few incidents that I have witnessed here shouldn't ruin it for everyone else! read more

Apopka's dog park has a total of three fenced fields that are much bigger than most dog parks. They have a small dog area and large dog area with one rotated field that is closed to let the grass rest. Like most dog parks there is a water fountain for people and pets as well as buckets for the dogs. There are clean up stations, a time out area, and benches. The thing I like about this park is that there are massive oak trees that provide nice shade as well as plenty of open space for the dogs to run. The park is next to a cemetery and part of the West Orange Trail which makes it nice and quiet. Parking is about a block from the park, which isn't too big of a deal, unless it's 100 degrees like it was on the day we went! read more

So much room! Not like other parks where small dog area is, well, small. Little dogs can really run here. If your dog is shy there's plenty of space so no problem separating yourselves if you want. Shady, trees, natural turf. The fencing is 6 ft high, if that's important to you. Seems most parks are the standard 4 ft fences. read more

Doctor's dog park is great! Being my local community dog park, we visit regularly. I personally think they areas are huge regardless the size of the dog. There are 3 dog parks. One for large dogs, one for small dogs, and then a third one that is never open. I think Apopka rotates the parks to clean. The parks always seem to be busy mid-day on the weekends but there is plenty of room for everyone. I like that there are plenty of trees for shade. I am impressed that all the areas have water fountains and bowls for the dogs. The city does a great job at maintaining the grounds, fences, and benches. Be aware you pup will get dirty...There is a lot of sandy/dirt areas in all the parks. I think it is impossible to grow grass in some areas with all the foot traffic from the pups. Also, though I have not had this issue, just remember you are responsible for your dog and their behavior around other dogs. I have seen dogs that are too aggressive to be at the park. If you think this might be a concern, please do not go...Also know that there is not parking directly at the dog park. You will have to park down the road a little bit in a dirt lot and walk maybe a block or so. read more

Took my dog here for the first time and he had a blast and didn't want to leave. All the dogs were friendly there which was a relief as the park was a leash free park or so it seems.I love that the park is so big and they have a big section of the park for large dogs and a big section for small dogs and a section for a mix of different dog sizes. The park was well managed and people all picked up after their pups which helped so I didn't have to watch my step every moment. Fun time for my dog and nice time for me. read more

This is a really great dog park located in the heart of Apopka. This dog park is one of the largest that I've ever seen. They have three sections: one for small dogs, the second for large breads, and the third for all. All come equipped with doggie fountains and sometimes you get lucky and find several kiddie pools for your pup to swim in. This park is very well mainteined and the grounds are gorgeous. There are plenty of poo stations throughout and I notice everyone does a good job of picking up after their pooch. If you don't bring your dog here well then you don't love your dog that much! read more

There's usually at least two or three dogs there at most times throughout the day, in the afternoons after 5 is when I notice the most activity. This dog park is great. Really large with separate sides for large and small dogs. Actually two large parks with small dog park in the middle. They rotate the large park occasionally to keep the grass growing. Fresh water available and several buckets. Nice and grassy, many trees and benches, well maintained. Plenty of bags and waste cans and almost everyone picks up after their dog(s). Very, very few inconsiderate owners. Been taking our dog for a few years and almost never any aggressive dog issues. We are new to dog parks. This is only the second park we have been to, and while both of them were spacious and well kept, I found this park to be much more active. The dogs were friendly and well behaved. The other park had many more trees for shade, but this park offered lots of room for the dogs to run and play. There are three separate areas, small, large and all dog. Our dog had a fabulous time at this park, while running and playing with about six to eight other dogs at one time. read more

I've been to this park twice now. I'll agree that it's a beautiful dog park; beautifully maintained with ample parking across the street. As I have a large dog, I used the large dog area and I'm only reviewing that area. Both times there have been very aggressive, intacted male pit bull/pit bull mix dogs unattended by their owners. By observation, I'm assuming the socio-economic makeup of the area lends itself to this type of dog and owner. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, there are signs requesting owners to keep their aggressive dogs out of the park. Clearly, the owners didn't care, or couldn't read. I didn't have an incident either time since I left fairly quickly after a short visit, but came close both times. I would suggest using the large dog area at your own risk. Obviously good advise at any dog park. But at this very large park, if anything happens way out at the other end of the area with one of these free roaming aggressive dogs, there won't be much left of your dog by the time the other owner can restrain their dog. read more

This is a very nice dog park. Big open area, well maintained. Has plenty of shade and benches as it isn't crazy packed. It's no Baldwin Park. But it's still really nice. Love that they have bathing benches like Baldwin. After he works up a sweat I can take him home fresh and clean. Love that! read more

I have no complaint on the park just the dog owners who don't abide by the park rules. There are separate areas for small and large dogs but every time we go there we have some large dogs in the small dog area. The owners have their excuses of "it's ok my dog is gentle" or "there was no dogs in the large area so we came over here". They don't realize that even a gentle large dog can injure a small dog just by playing hard. Why can't people just follow the rules. read more

At this dog park there is a side for small dogs and one for big dogs. The only problem with that is most of the mid size dogs are in the big dog park. My dog is really friendly until he is bitten or treated meanly by another dog and he stands up for himself. So I don't take him into the big dog size cause he won't back down when he gets intentionally hurt. The small dogs are real snappish and will attack my dog over something as simple as a ball. The owners don't socialize their pets enough or don't train them. The owners of these dogs aren't very social. Why would they be when the park is so big there that they can have there own personal space. The only plus this park has to it is that there are time out pens for the dogs. I use to take my dog to Barber Park every day since he was 3mos old until he was a year old and we moved to Apopka, and have not had the problems that I have had here. Dogs are dogs of course and there would be the occasional aggressive dog but the owners there would be right on the dog stopping it. There was no need for timeout pens there. The people and the dogs were much nicer there, even to new owners and there pets, as it was a smaller area but still big enough for the dogs to be able to run quite a ways but still small enough for the owners to socialize with the other owners there. There was a covered area with a table that people could sit around and talk while there dogs played and further out in the field there is a picnic bench under some shade. That park had agility courses for the dogs to do and get exercise. The people and pets I still occasionally take him there on weekends when I am visiting with family so he can run and play. Just because Doctors' Dog Park has a bigger area for the dogs doesn't make it better, and definitely isn't. read more

Park is nice and very large. Would be much better if people picked up after their dogs. There are signs everywhere along with clean up bags but we saw three owners watch their dog "go" and just left it. read more
