We took our little Havanese to play and was happy to see that the two dog parks are separated by size, with the small dog side being 30lbs and under. Sadie really enjoyed playing and interacting with other small dogs and had plenty of room to run around. My only complaint was that, when it started raining, there was no covered area to block the rain. There is a shaded area, but the rain flows right through the shade. I did like and appreciate the little doggie shower they had. It came it handy to wash off Sadie's muddy paws. read more

Surrounded by gorgeous, well manicured grounds, though finding the dog park itself was a bit confusing as Maps led to a parking lot located in a different area of the park. We got there after it had been raining so while the grass was soaking wet there was no mud, which was a plus! Not the largest dog park but super clean and well maintained with a handful of other dogs to play with. Lake Baldwin is still by far my favorite dog park in the area, but this is a solid alternative when not wanting to deal with the dogs going into the lake. read more

The dog owners seem to be more considerate of each other and their dogs, unlike bigger dog parks. You can always keep your eye on your dog easily. I enjoy taking my large black mouth cur dog here. We stay for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. My dog runs around and has fun with the other dogs. There are a few shady spots for the dog owners but I wish there was more. It could use some more benches too. It was closed for renovations for most of May 2018 though and I haven't been there since it opened back up. read more

Unfortunately, Kou and I did not have a good day at the dog park. The evening started out fine with a couple different dogs in the park: a Border Collie, a Pug mix, a Shepherd mix, and my Kou (who is a Curr mix.) All of the dogs were playing very nicely and seemed to all be enjoying themselves. Then a man (brown hair and brown beard, wearing glasses, driving a jeep) showed up with his two dogs. They looked like some sort of hunting dogs, from their tall, lean builds. Shortly after arriving, both of his dogs became aggressive toward the Shepherd mix. They both ran her down the whole length of the park, biting and attacking her all the while. The man did not move once to try to intervene. I think he may have yelled for his dogs to come to him, but after they did not he simply stood and let it happen. The Shepherd mix managed to get away and fled back to her owner immediately. I happened to be speaking with the Shepherd's owner at this time with my dog next to me. We stayed there talking for a bit and then one of the man's dogs came over and started growling at the Shepherd mix and my dog. --At this point, I would like to point out that one of the park rules is: "an owner must remove their dog at the first sign of aggression." Therefore, if the man had bothered to intervene when he noticed his dogs attacking the Shepherd mix, he would have then removed them from the park (per the rules) and this next part would never have had the opportunity to occur.-- As this man's dog is growling at ours, my dog placed herself between the Shepherd mix and the aggressive dog. I think possibly to protect the Shepherd mix that had already been attacked. Regardless, this man's dog continued to growl at my dog, then suddenly lunged at my dog and attacked her very aggressively. They were rolling around fighting, my dog trying to defend herself, and I did my best to grab my dog and remove her from the situation. The man never once came over to try to pull his dog away. As I grabbed my dog and pulled her away from the fight, a park ranger drove up to the fence. As I was settling my dog down, the park ranger moved over near the exit/entrance. The man with the aggressive dogs grabbed his two dogs and left without saying a word to anyone. The park ranger said nothing to the man with the two dogs, nor any of the other people that left. Then, as the girl with the Shepherd mix and I made our way toward the entrance of the park so we could start leaving, the park ranger got out of his golf cart and came over to stare at our dogs awkwardly. So, naturally, they both began to bark at him. He then looked at me specifically and told me that my dog is too aggressive and banned from ever coming back to the dog park. The girl with the Shepherd mix then asked him, "What about that man with those other two dogs? Those dogs attacked my dog and then her dog." To which the park ranger simply stated, "I wasn't around for that." In short, I am completely and overwhelmingly outraged that my dog, who was attacked by another dog with a severely negligent owner that is putting people and pets in very legitimate danger (as seen in the attached photos), is being banned from going back to the her favorite place because the park ranger was "not around for that". My dog naturally defended herself and it is obvious from the severity of these injuries that my dog was not the aggressor. Not to mention, patrons of the park are only supposed to be BANNED from coming back after MULTIPLE offenses, meanwhile I've been bringing my dog to this park 3 or more times a week for the past 5 months and have never had a SINGLE problem with my dog showing aggression toward any dog or person of any age or size, let alone starting/being involved with a fight. I always pick up my dog's waste while there, I even take the time to make sure all of the water bowls are filled up when I'm there. In my opinion, the park ranger showed extreme negligence when it came to the situation. He blatantly told both myself and the girl with the Shepherd mix that he wasn't around for all of it, then decided that the answer to the problem would be profiling my dog and banning her despite not knowing any of the actual story. I will be writing letters and contacting every person within my power to let them know about this situation. Not only do we have a man with two highly aggressive dogs that is allowed to freely use the dog park, but my dog (who has never shown signs of aggression) has been injured AND banned. Please keep an eye out for this man if you frequent the park, as I would hate for anyone's dogs to be banned for defending themselves and/or ending up even more injured than mine was. I haven't been to other dog parks but this one is simply phenomenal. It has a large area for dogs to roam around in, benches for humans to sit at, toys for the dogs to play with, and water for them to drink. Parking is really close and the dual gated entrance allows for you to get your dog safely in and out of the park. Highly recommended. read more

I have brought my medium-sized dog here a few times and have had good experiences so far. The large dog side has a good amount of room for the dogs to run around. There is a separate fenced area where they do dog training classes on Saturdays. The quality of the grounds is pretty decent, some dirt patches but nothing too bothersome. There are also plenty of doggy stations with bags. The water fountain area could use a good cleaning up because of the accumulating mud and dirt. The washing station in front of the park is nice, the hose works well and it made giving my dog a bath afterwards a quick process. The other dogs that have been in the park while we are there have been overall friendly and playful. There were a few instances that a dog was repeatedly targeting another dog and showing signs of aggression but all the owner would do is yell at their dog, drag them away for a moment and then let them loose again. Overall though, I have not witnessed any dogs outright attacking another dog or any dog fights. Overall, this is a nice space for dogs to run around and socialize. read more

Stewie and Aoki love coming here! They get so excited as soon as they see the other dogs. They beg me to bring them every day. If they were writing this they would give it 5 stars in a second! There is both a small and large dog play area. The areas are well maintained and clean. Small dog area is a nice size with benches, table, water, obstacles for dogs and a sidewalk to walk around. People are real friendly and social as well. The only thing I would change is I wish they would pave or level the road to get there. Gets a bit bumpy for small cars. read more

Love this dog park. Unfortunately, I need to start looking for another one. Either that or I need to find out when those German Shepherds come and STAY AWAY from that time. The dogs are very aggressive when any dogs get near them when they got the Frisbee or ball around. But it's so normal for dogs to smell each other when they first just meet. Anyway, my white pryernese was approaching them trying to smell them out just like any other dogs would do. They got aggressive and growling. Also bite my dog. I was able to rescue my dog before any damages can be done. Ever since after that incident, whenever my white pryernese see them. She just start barking nonstop at them defensedly. Basically whenever I see them about to come into the dog park. I get my leashes and try to get out ASAP. Totally suck. read more

I have been to quiet a few dog parks since I have a high energy level German Shepherd puppy, This one was surprising, It was hidden and was a pain to find, the people were friendly, it had nicely mowed grass, a few toys, agility runs if you want to entertain your pal, the kids played with my dog, Granted some people hate it, but they are life savers to tire out my pup and socialize him to more people since i am never around many. My dog doesn't really care which dog park I take her, so her feedback really doesn't matter to my review. She loves chasing bugs and imaginary squirrels, which imaginary squirrels are everywhere. Even in my house. Note: Its not the easiest to find initially. You'll see what I mean. What I like about this dog park is the grass. Im not much into walking in dirt, so dog parks that are a big pile of dirt and mud are typically not high on my list. Id hardly call it grass though. Its more like Bahia mixed with weeds, but you get my drift. There is a separate larger fenced off area in the back, which Im not sure the purpose, and an inner area with a concrete walkway. The inner area has agility obstacles, benches and a dog shower.. I think thats what it is. There is also a smaller section for a small dogs. Its typically not that busy and one of my favorites. There is plenty of room to roam and areas to walk on leash. read more

Awesome place to take your dog!! My son and I have been 3 times in the past 9 days and our dog, Bishop, loves it. He has always loved car rides, but now he thinks every ride is to this place so he whines to go anywhere with us. They have shaded areas and benches. A dig box, smaller playful obstacles. A shower type spout for water loving dogs, a fountain and a concrete path for owners to walk around so that we don't step in anything. The fenced area in the back has numerous training type obstacles. There is an area for smaller dogs but I see small dog owners in the big dog pens lots. I question this behavior as I've seen several smaller dogs become aggressive due to the number of larger dogs around. Once in a while you'll get an over zealous dog, but I haven't seen any real issues yet. Its well maintained even though some owners aren't picking up after their dogs. I'm utterly pissed off and disappointed. I've been to this park before on foot and it seemed like a nice place to let my dog socialize with other dogs and people. This was our first time there and everything was going fine at first. There was three dogs there when I arrived(curr mix , border collie, and a smaller pug mix) all the dogs were very friendly and the owners were supervising their own dogs and also were very nice to my dog. The curr and smaller mix dog hit it off with my dog instantly and they were all playing while the border collie was more entertained with their owners throwing its ball. However shortly after a man arrived with two dogs-both OFF LEASH which, by the way, is against the rule stated on the site that says "they must arrive and leave on one". They stuck by their owner though so I didn't put much thought to it but, when my dog (who likes meeting new people more than dogs) saw a new person she went over. The other dogs didn't bat an eye at her until she went to greet their owners and they BOTH attacked my dog and RAN HER DOWN ACROSS THE PARK, biting and attacking her the whole way. The owner didn't acknowledge any of this happened nor did he remove his dogs, which is ANOTHER RULE of the park: "at the first sign of aggression the dog must be removed." My dog ran back to me and the other two dogs stopped chasing her. The owner of the friendly curr and pug mix talked to me about it but our dogs continued to play. At this point the boarder collie left. A few moments after the two dogs approached us again but I assumed they were just being over protective of their owner beforehand so it would be fine. The smaller of his two tan dogs sniffed my dog (who was standing at my legs) and started showing teeth and growling at my dog even though my dog didn't move an inch. The friendly curr came over to my dog and got in the middle of the other dog growling at mine and his dog then attacked this poor curr. After them spinning over each other for what felt like forever the owner of the curr cared enough to separate them unlike the man of the two aggressive dogs that did NOTHING. After she got her dog the man quickly called his dogs and left the park not even bothering to say anything about what happened or check the dog that got attacked or even his?? The lady with the smaller pug mix left quickly too while I found my dog hiding under a bench. I asked how the other dog that got attacked was while I noticed a park ranger on a cart outside the fence where it occurred watching. He drove to the opening of the dog park and then proceeded to awkwardly stare at our dogs in silence causing them both to bark that's when he told this girl whose dog got ATTACKED that her dog was banned from the park?!! We both were exiting when I informed the man that the two dogs before were not only the aggressive ones who started this fight, but also had just a few minutes ago attacked and ran my dog down and his response was "well I didn't see any of that" even though it broke rules of the park. Apparently this man didn't even care? The owner of the dog who got attack was clearly upset and stated again that this was outrageous since her dog was attacked and the man then told her that she too was banned from the park and would be considered trespassing if she returned. I'm not only upset that my dog got attacked and ran down but this poor other dog actually got injured and was then banned for something the man with the aggressive dogs should have been banned for. I will be making complains about this whole situation but mostly the rude and uncaring staff. read more

My favorite local dog park, it is kept up nice (Thank you to all of those who clean up after your dogs!) and has trees, shading, seats for humans, water for furbabies and humans and my favorite-a small dog area. It's set up great, only disapoints me when people put their bigger dogs in it, my 5lb dog gets scared around big dogs but loves little ones. When there aren't Pits and German Shepards playing int he small dog area, my dogs like it :) I wish they had guidelines defining a "small dog" located on the fence. read more

My pup loves going to the Hound Ground. I appreciate the two shades areas for the pet parents. I do wish they had a few more shaded areas though, especially for the pups. Also, it would be nice if they had a few more of the stainless steel bowls for the dogs to drink out of. Some of the guests end up taking the bowl to where they are and get surrounded by dogs - but when you have a somewhat shy dog who doesn't want to have to butt in between the other dogs to get a drink, they get nothing. There's also not really a great spot to fill up and bowls for the dogs to drink out of! I have noticed MANY of the pet parents end up bringing their own bowls it seems, and a gallon jug to fill the water. read more

If you're considering going to this park be aware that there is "zero" enforcement of the rules and less than 50% adherence to them. I have seen more than a few confrontations as a result of over aggressive dogs being allowed in the park. Today I was personally accosted and threatened with being shot because i told someone to close the gate as dogs were escaping as they stood there with the gate open,quite a confrontation ! I've been a long-time user of this park. My dogs love it. It has actually gone under a renovation or two over the years. Winter Park personnel do a great job of keeping it up. As far as finding it. The easiest way is: look for Winter Springs H.S. Rather than turn onto the H.S. property, go left, than left again. Right there. I have two dogs that are polar opposites of each other. Copper, a chow mix is laid back & mellow. Quashie is a short-haired Sheppard mix. Full of energy & life. However, she has a loud, deep bark that people take as menacing. She's not. She likes to let everybody know that she is there. Because of that, there have been times when people have treated her & me with disrespect & fear. We were thrown out once when people thought she was provoking a fight, when in reality, she was protecting herself.Claw marks from another dog weren't enough to convince them. In all the years going there, that has been the only real negative. Someone mentioned training on Saturdays. Quashie went through it. I can say that the training is pretty good. However, it's more for beginning than anything else. A 'student' dog has to pass evaluations before moving onto more elaborate training. And costs. Take it for what it is worth. I use it for convenience to Oviedo, until one opens there in the future as part of the new downtown project. Overall, quite a nice park if you can overlook the time it takes to find it. Excellent place to bring your puppy for playtime. Two separate areas for large and small dogs. This is a fenced, off leash park so watch your kids! Usually very busy. There is also a "time out" area for doggies that need a break. read more

This is a great dog park! They have 3 or more benches in the big dog area which are in the shade depending on the time of day.. but also two picnic tables that are covered and in shade. I have never come to this park and been the only one! Its a little slower during the work days bust there are usually still a handful of dogs even at the slowest of times. In the afternoons and weekends there are always tons of dogs. The dogs and owners are always pretty friendly and we have always left this park saying "Well that was fun!" and never had a negative experience. This park is brand new and very clean. they have a big dog area and a seperate small dog area. they have some cool obstacle like play equipment too. there are dog and people water fountains and even a dog shower. they also have a small shaded area with a picnic table. They are open from sunrise to sunset and closed on Wednesdays for maintenance read more

We enjoy taking our two dogs to play here. There are two separate yards: one for small dogs and one for large. Our dachshund, however, prefers to run with the big dogs, and that has worked just fine. There have been a couple of instances of aggressive dogs, but those moments are pretty seldom. They usually work out their differences and move along. My only complaint is that the yard can get REALLY muddy when it's been raining, which makes the park pretty difficult to use during the summer. read more

We went and it was nothing but Pit Bulls. There was one very well behaved Pit, but the others immediately surrounded our dog. One started growling at the others while he tried to mount our dog. The owners just sat on the benches and watched. I wish there were 2 areas for the big dogs as I didn't feel my dog was safe at this park. read more

I used to love it until they decided to put a Privacy fence for the little dogs. Why are they blocking our dogs from playing along the fence. And note the little dogs can dig as well as big dogs under the fence so they can get over to the other side. And I saw big dog jump over the fence.
