Rob at the Dawson location is super helpful, and will go out of his way to accommodate anything you need in a very timely manner at a very reasonable cost. In 5 years I have never had a problem. Just once I "strayed" to another shop and ended up getting a not-so-good brake job with noisy/cheap parts, now I know better than to slum it with another shop for a groupon discount!! I trust the guys at BBM Dawson, and will stay with them :) They have always been honest, use premium parts, and have always offered excellent service and repairs. They were upfront with what they could do based on the info they had and fixed some rodent damage on the first visit that the first shop didn't even notice. The guys at Ootmar answered all my questions with a lot of patience and passion for their work - they communicated really well and eventually helped to solve a problem with a dying crankshaft sensor. They provided a courtesy car as well, which was very nice. I'll definitely recommend them and go back the next time I need any work on my car!

A recent trip to Whistler was an eye opener: one of our tire was popped and needed to be patched, and there was a funny sound when starting the car about to drive home on Sunday. By Tuesday of the same week, The Hubs said he can barely start the car. He took public transit to work while I looked for an auto shop to take my car in for the day. Called a couple of shops and they are full for the week. I randomly searched and came across this place on Google that is tucked away in the end of a long brown building. Walter picked up the phone and was genuinely concerned about my car and whether I can start it. He asked me some great questions that should be easy to answer, but I have no clue since The Hubs handles the maintenance. Walter was very patient with someone that has minimal knowledge about their car and gave great instructions to explain how to get to the shop and what to do once there. Once I figured out how to start the car, I drove over and drop off my car with Walter at 12pm, who also asked me if there's anything else they need to check for me. Informed him of the tire problem and he said he'll make sure someone take a look and torque it as well. Walter called at 2pm and let me know the diagnosis and what is needed to be repaired. Turns out battery is end of its life and needs a new one. Also, my tires are getting bare and needed some new treads - Walter said he can find and give me a few options. By 3:30pm, Walter called back and said the car is ready. Made my way back and explained the what they have done, how much it costs and also the tire options. The price is fair. I feel assured by their level of service and knowledge. I'm very glad I stumbled upon them. Overall: Walter & team is great. I have a great service, fair prices, and I will take my car to service there again.

They will charge you for every little detail - for example: $65 for a diagnostics to give you a code number, but $135 for a diagnostics to tell you what the code means and how it needs to be fixed! Then told, that's just how the industry works by the front desk. Find a personal mechanic if you can - these guys will probably get the job done but nickel and dime you for every little thing. Probably won't be going back.
