West Shore Homes - Wilmington Location - Consultant Chase Leonard - Materially misrepresented his position within the company, claiming to be a manager, acting and making materially false statements through the course of a consult for a bathroom renovation. // Claimed to be a manager. // Claimed to have his own manager discount that would be applied to get us the best deal. // Claimed repeatedly that he did not work for commission but was a salary employee so our decisions whether more expensive or not would not be of monetary benefit or consequence to him. // Claimed the installation would be completed by licensed tradesmen. // Claimed he would be present to facilitate accurate and proper installation of the renovation on the scheduled build date. // Claimed to have us sign a contract for a promotional 18 month interest and payment differed loan, resulting in late payment penalties for what is actually an 18 month interest differed loan All such claims were found to be false throughout the course of dealings with West Shore. Following 2 months, General Manager for North Carolina, Tristan determined they would not be providing financial compensation or price adjustments despite poor work and material misrepresentation. -Installation Complaints // Required several more days to complete initial installation with significant errors resulting in return trips for diagnosis than an additional 14 hour day for complete removal and replacement of previously completed work. // Initial review of work to be completed on day 1 identified significant errors in what was placed and work order - missing addition of second shower head to create him/her shower, missing floor to ceiling panel - resulting in the approval and sourcing of additional materials. // Construction was messy and unmitigated, resulting in construction dust throughout home with no measures to mitigate aside from blanket taped to bathroom doorway, caulk drippings found throughout work area and flooring through home between front door and master bathroom. Caulking was extremely poor and messy along all lines. Seams were cracked at all bends, panels were cracked and damaged. Plumbing was temperature reversed, severe leak of one shower head with water pooling below shower pan was identified and rendered unusable. Flooring was incomplete with broken planks leaving concrete and plumbing exposed in closet. Toilet found improperly installed, loose and sliding. Significant raised area was identified under new flooring. Moved light fixture was not installed flush to ceiling. Recently painted walls and ceilings were scratched and chipped. Impact to Us Context - Household of 2 Marine Corps Active Duty Pilots, and a 3 y/o. // Every day resulted in loss of possible flight time and or leave days due to requirement to present throughout construction. Additional construction days resulted in loss of pilot training progression, ultimately effecting months worth of training opportunities. Loss of a Saturday resulted in loss of down time away from work despite more alleged "convenience". SUMMARY - I would never recommend West Shore Homes to anyone in the Wilmington / Jacksonville, NC area. Work done for $46,000 allegedly discounted to $32,000 is not even worth the cost of materials. read more

My wife and I met with West Shore Home rep today. He did a good job promoting his product (windows). We felt he overdid his negative comments about his competitors. We expected ( as we are in our 60's) quite experienced in working with contractors or firms that deal with household projects. The piece that turned off completely was the best price he offered was only available if we put down 30% today, even after we told him that we live in a HOA Ithey have to approve any changes to your home) and just as important, my wife needed a few days to decide on two window options. I would consider, if you can, not to work with this firm as if they are that strict on discounts, and you have to decide the same day he comes to your home. There are so many firms that are in the same business that we have worked with and they never put the pressure on us to decide after a 60 minute dicussion with their rep. Buyer Beware read more

I purchased a home last year that had a shower put in in 2019 by the previous owner. It was done by Westshore home ... not sure which location. It is a beautiful shower actually but has a couple problems/deficiencys but all I was calling for was to purchase a few more shelves to add to the minimal 2 that were initially installed. Apparently, their policy is that once the home changes hands they will not do business with the new owner of said shower. "Even for a few shelves? I would even pay for the service and material"? "No it's their policy that once the home they did work in changes hands they will no longer do any service work in that shower" said Amber, the manager I asked to speak with. She was polite but unyielding .... And at the same time ruined any possible chance they could do any work in my home ever. Very polite but a terrible "policy" to relay to any potential customer. Too bad there is not a zero star option. The photos show a pic of the shelves I wanted to buy more of and an example of a poorly caulked pan/wall joint. Surfaces were dirty when caulked. When you clean the joints with denatured alcohol then use a good quality silicone, this doesn't happen for many years if at all. Good luck folks, I would steer clear of these folks. read more

Our new shower meets our expectations. Because of the slow supply chain, it took longer to do our project than we were led to believe on their commercials. With the state of our economy and our shower needing to be custom because of size, we weren't surprised by the delay. It was worth the wait. The workers were thoughtful of protecting our floors and left no mess. with a do over we would. The shower is beautiful. We haven't used it yet. read more
