    My great Pyrenees Canela RIP

I have taken my pets for years to this clinic and I haven't had a problem. Plus it was just small needed appointments like vaccines and checkup's. Took my cat to get neutered and to this day my cat is good shape. I was gifted a dog for my birthday and it was a Great Pyrenees, she was 6 months old and still a puppy. She was in really good shape and healthy, I took her here to get a wellness check and her vaccines and heart worms medicine to make sure she was good and healthy. A Doctor came in and it was a women (I don't know her name). She came in gave her vaccines and gave me the medication. She said she ran the testing to see if she could have Parvo virus and the test came back negative. Not even 3 days after I took her she became really skinny and sick. She would not eat and move a lot. She had sudden diarrhea and vomiting which it concerned me a lot. I took her to the emergency animal hospital in Kannapolis and they helped her right away. I took her around 12am and we stayed and waited till 2am, the doctor came out and said she had parvo virus and it came out positive. I was confused and shocked because she was healthy and the clinic said she came out negative and all of the sudden she was positive. The doctor recommended us to leave her with them for 2 days to see if she would eat and stop having diarrhea and vomiting. We went to pick her up 2 days after and she looked way better. The doctor said she hasn't vomited and has been eating pretty well. He gave us medications for her and said the medicine will help prevent vomiting and diarrhea. Of course I was happy to know she was fine. I gave her the medicines but all of the sudden she was bad again. I took her to the west Stanley clinic to see if they could check up on her. Now this is when it got serious... We asked the front desk lady if they could check up on her because she had parvo and we wanted to see if she was getting worse or better and if they could help us give medication for her. She said "we don't have the equipment for animals with parvo and we can't assist her here because she might contact other animals". We gave our reasoning and she repeated the statement. My mother asked why they didn't want to help an animal if that is what they do, at least help us with a solution. The desk lady went to the back to talk to the vet (the vet never went up to us to tell us herself all the bullshit she wanted to say) she had the lady go back and fourth to give us an answer instead of the vet go up there and answer all our questions. The lady of the desk got tired of us and started to raise her voice at us that " we can not help you with this you would have to take her to a specialist" She also said " she could've gotten the parvo at Pet smart or a dog park". Please let me inform you she was a house dog and we wouldn't take her out to public places, the only location we took her was the clinic, our back yard and the animal hospital. I asked her "couldn't she have gotten the parvo here?" She replied and straight up said "no" My mom cussed her out and yelled out loud so the vet could hear But the desk lady was very rude and the vet never came out to at least apologize. We went to another clinic and they were so nice and try to give us ways to help her and they were very informative. We told them about the other clinic and they were surprised to the treatment and told us that they have heard a lot of problems and trouble they had. She said they are not good people. But it was to late for her to get better and died 4 days after the west Stanley clinic visit. Please if you love your pets, Don't take them to west Stanley. They only care about the money not your pets. There's a spot in hell for those people

My friend referred me here and even tho it's a 30+ minute drive, I don't mind. The staff are welcoming and very informative on all procedures and questions I've had. Everyone is so sweet and accommodating each time I've come in, not to mention they're very affordable compared to other places I've called around to get quotes. I have two pups I bring here and love the care we've received.

He has many years of experience and it shows in his knowledge and the way he has always handled my dogs. He is especially patient my girl now, who is a little on the apprehensive side at the vet. The front desk staff, particularly the woman I spoke with at 7:00 a.m. on 3/26/2025, was just as rude and indifferent as many other reviews have described. My dog had been a patient of Dr. Barker for over six years, but in the last two, this clinic has declined sharply. Today, my mom faced the heartbreaking decision to put our beloved 14-year-old Boston Terrier to sleep. When she called yesterday to request an emergency appointment, she was told the earliest available slot was three days away and advised to take him to the Kannapolis emergency vet in the meantime--and then told not to call back. There was no urgency, no compassion--just complete disregard for the situation. As his condition worsened, I called again this morning on my mom's behalf, hoping to secure an earlier appointment. After requesting an emergency visit, the woman at the front desk coldly asked, "Who is this for?"--as if she was deciding which pets were worth seeing. In that moment, it felt like they had completely turned their backs on us when we needed them most. When I pressed for an earlier appointment, she rudely stated they had openings between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., but it was first come, first served--offering no guarantee of care. I explained our circumstances, hoping for at least some understand or compassion, but all I received was indifference. No sympathy, no effort to accommodate--just a dismissive attitude that made it clear my dog's life didn't matter to them. After years of loyalty to this clinic, it was devastating to realize that when it truly counted, they simply did not care. Let me be clear: you will receive no empathy from this staff. What should have been a moment of kindness and care was instead made even more painful by their unprofessionalism and coldness. There was no warmth, no reassurance--just a rushed, impersonal process that left us feeling like an inconvenience. That's why we took him elsewhere, where he was treated with the dignity and compassion he deserved in his final moments. We are heartbroken, and instead of support during one of the hardest moments a pet owner can face, we were met with indifference. It is beyond disappointing to see what this clinic has become--and even more unacceptable that Dr. Barker has allowed such awful behavior to continue for years. If you truly love your pets and want them cared for by a team that values their well-being, I strongly urge you to go elsewhere. No one should have to endure what we went through today.

You walk in and the lobby is huge, everything looks so clean and professional, no foul odors. But what really grabbed my attention was the staff. There is a LOT of them, not one or two teenagers looking after a bunch of dogs. Having never boarded there before, we were nervous, so we asked if we could see the back where they stayed - no problem! Without a moment's hesitation, they led us back. Again, I was impressed. No cages, smells and barking dogs but actual rooms, spacious rooms with doors. Cots in each room for the dogs to lay on. A nice lady stood there with us and explained everything. It is truly a "resort" for dogs. The last place we left them, we were not allowed to see the back. And when we picked them up, we had to ride back with the windows down, they stunk so much. We had to bathe them as soon as we got home. NOT HERE! Our dogs smelled as good when we picked them up as before we dropped them off. In addition, they upload videos on their Facebook page every day and you can see your dogs having the time of their lives, reducing OUR anxiety. The difference between Natural Breed Kennels Resort and the last place we boarded them is as different as night and day! But here's the kicker - pricing is about the same! Very reasonable for the extreme care they take of your fur babies. We have found a new boarder and we couldn't be more pleased. No worries at all about leaving your babies here!

Found out from others who took their dog there that they had the same experience, their dog getting sick or even worse. I was also told from people who did work there that the grounds were always very wet and the dogs were playing in that wet mess. We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.
