Not even given options of other offices to go to. My cat passed shortly afterwards and I am very torn up about this exchange. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. This place is terrible. The doctor is horrible. The assistants are nice though. My dog got super ill 2 weeks ago and when we saw that we went to this vet clinic. You have to wait a couple hours before even getting inside, then wait another couple hours inside the room for them to even get the dog.They told us that they can't take her in becouse she wasn't calm and was squealing the entire time. They gave us pills to give her the night before and the day of when we come in to calm her down. We gave the pills yesturday and again this morning and drove to this clinic just to find out that they can't take her in AGAIN. They said she needs alot of work and needs help right away but since they couldn't get her on the table they "can't do anything with her" so we asked if they can just have her lay down on the floor and they said "No we need her to sit on that table to get a blood test" i asked if i can go in with her so she'll be calm and actually HELP THEM with her but they said no cause it's violating the rules or some crap. The doctor didn't even try to do anything at all. If they can't get her on that table they can't and won't do anything. My dog got blind over the last week and is struggling to breathe all because they couldn't do anything to her, if she dies i blame this useless vet clinic. read more

I have taken my pets for years to this clinic and I haven't had a problem. Plus it was just small needed appointments like vaccines and checkup's. Took my cat to get neutered and to this day my cat is good shape. I was gifted a dog for my birthday and it was a Great Pyrenees, she was 6 months old and still a puppy. She was in really good shape and healthy, I took her here to get a wellness check and her vaccines and heart worms medicine to make sure she was good and healthy. A Doctor came in and it was a women (I don't know her name). She came in gave her vaccines and gave me the medication. She said she ran the testing to see if she could have Parvo virus and the test came back negative. Not even 3 days after I took her she became really skinny and sick. She would not eat and move a lot. She had sudden diarrhea and vomiting which it concerned me a lot. I took her to the emergency animal hospital in Kannapolis and they helped her right away. I took her around 12am and we stayed and waited till 2am, the doctor came out and said she had parvo virus and it came out positive. I was confused and shocked because she was healthy and the clinic said she came out negative and all of the sudden she was positive. The doctor recommended us to leave her with them for 2 days to see if she would eat and stop having diarrhea and vomiting. We went to pick her up 2 days after and she looked way better. The doctor said she hasn't vomited and has been eating pretty well. He gave us medications for her and said the medicine will help prevent vomiting and diarrhea. Of course I was happy to know she was fine. I gave her the medicines but all of the sudden she was bad again. I took her to the west Stanley clinic to see if they could check up on her. Now this is when it got serious... We asked the front desk lady if they could check up on her because she had parvo and we wanted to see if she was getting worse or better and if they could help us give medication for her. She said "we don't have the equipment for animals with parvo and we can't assist her here because she might contact other animals". We gave our reasoning and she repeated the statement. My mother asked why they didn't want to help an animal if that is what they do, at least help us with a solution. The desk lady went to the back to talk to the vet (the vet never went up to us to tell us herself all the bullshit she wanted to say) she had the lady go back and fourth to give us an answer instead of the vet go up there and answer all our questions. The lady of the desk got tired of us and started to raise her voice at us that " we can not help you with this you would have to take her to a specialist" She also said " she could've gotten the parvo at Pet smart or a dog park". Please let me inform you she was a house dog and we wouldn't take her out to public places, the only location we took her was the clinic, our back yard and the animal hospital. I asked her "couldn't she have gotten the parvo here?" She replied and straight up said "no" My mom cussed her out and yelled out loud so the vet could hear But the desk lady was very rude and the vet never came out to at least apologize. We went to another clinic and they were so nice and try to give us ways to help her and they were very informative. We told them about the other clinic and they were surprised to the treatment and told us that they have heard a lot of problems and trouble they had. She said they are not good people. But it was to late for her to get better and died 4 days after the west Stanley clinic visit. Please if you love your pets, Don't take them to west Stanley. They only care about the money not your pets. There's a spot in hell for those people read more

DON'T GO It's pretty bad when you spend money there over couple years and you had had to go somewhere closer when things got tight and your dog was bleeding goes he got bite by something and you get to west stanley because he has seen Dr Griffin before that they can't see them because we moved them to another vet. So they don't care about your pets just about money can tell they lose alot people it wasn't busy not like it use to be. Its not a friendly place anymore. Dr griffin was a good dr is staff on the other hand not so compassionate I had a my update records with his shots and still wouldn't see him and he was bleeding. so very disappointed. I have taken my dogs here for 13 years. however I have never had anything traumatic or injuries that needed attention. As of three weeks ago I took my 13 year old dog here with a bad limp, barely able to walk. They did X-rays and said they didn't see anything except some inflammation. They gave him meds and sent us on our way. Two weeks later he was still in terrible shape. I called back- they said "they've done all they can do" and referred me to A specialist (who never returned my calls). I ended up taking my dog somewhere else. I had them send over the X-rays but the new vet had to do more X-rays because he didn't see anything on their X-rays but could clearly see my dog couldn't walk at all! He came in and showed me the X-rays his team did and said "it doesn't even look like the same leg I'm looking at. Not even the same dog almost". but all this said - my poor boy has severe cancer in that leg that even my average eye could see on the X-ray. He also had it in his back legs and lungs. I am very disappointed at the lack of care my baby received. I cannot believe the incompetence or laziness. My dog has been suffering for 3 weeks due to poor practice. I never write reviews but this is close to my heart. we are suppose to be good stewards of the animals we are given and always do right by them! But when you have a vet mishandle their work, we can't take care of our animals. Disappointed. read more

I used this vet for several years with my cat and dog. My dog was diagnosed with beginning stages of tracheal collapse through Dr. Griffin. He continued to get worse and we took him for a second opinion. Yeah what anyone else would do. I called to get an appointment to have his nails trimmed a month later and was told they would no longer see him just because we took him for a second opinion. I kept my cat here and she is diabetic and on a prescription food. I drove from the mountain area an hour and a half 2 times to get a prescription and they were closed with no updates online or on facebook. Just a note on the door saying they are short staffed and closed. I called and asked if they could mail it to me in which I would have paid them for postage and was told no they couldn't do it. I explained there is a Banfield in the petsmart where I buy her food which requires a prescription card from them through a prescription through my vet and she said to go to petsmart and call. I did and they still refused to help. So I guess my cat was just supposed to die. Both vets that I have used since have had horror stories about this location when trying to get records for pets. One said the receptionist told them not to tell anyone they got it from her. The other one said they refused and I had to call and request they send the records over. DO NOT USE THIS VET. Needless to say I ended up having to put my dog down because not only was it NOT the BEGINNING stages of tracheal collapse it was very severe and he went into respiratory distress and we couldn't get him out of it despite the meds the other vet recommended we put him on which gave us another 6 months with him. read more

The vet, Sam Griffin, is one of those doc/vets who cannot be questioned. When we place a pet in someone's care we are concerned for their well-being and sometimes have questions. This is a fast food type of animal care. Get them in, get paid, get them out. The only reason to evade questions is because you are ignorant or have something to hide. Beside a crude manner, he was pushing for a test that my pet had already had done recently. The girl on the front desk kept insisting it had not. No one in this office ever wore a mask even at the height of the pandemic. Typical! Fortunately we have found a vet who cares, and whose staff is polite and informed. read more

I took my 8 week old puppy dachshund in 2016 and they cut ALL his nails so short he bled everywhere when I got him back. When I went to pay I told them the poor baby was bleeding and that they absolutely destroyed his nails & they replied with "well he's a puppy they squirm a lot we couldn't hold him still." This is a 4lb mini weenie puppy we are talking about. They were absolutely rude and disgusting about it and had no compassion for his pain. Ever since he's had severe anxiety and I blame this incident as being a big part of it. Don't recommend. Do not take your pet here! You cannot get an appointment so your wait time varies. The staff is incredibly unprofessional and rude. As I sat in an exam room waiting for the staff to come in, I overheard them talking poorly about a previous customer. When the techs finally came in, I told them I had several questions for the vet about my dog's allergies. They were very annoyed (near closing time) and told me I would not be seeing the vet today. I took my dog here twice and quickly realized I do not want her being under the care of this vet. I switched to Colonial Animal Hospital and can only say great things about the clinic. They genuinely love my dog and give her great care. They never rush me and answer all of my questions. read more

I would give them a zero star if there was an option! This place has gone downhill tremendously! my dog woke up very sick this morning, she could barely walk on her right front foot, she was drooling nonstop, her stomach was torn up and she had no appetite, and she was doing this weird thing with her mouth like she was gnashing her teeth. Regardless, she was in bad shape. i called West Stanly Animal Clinic to see if we were still in the system and she said we were so I drive from Monroe to Locust because I wanted to get her seen quickly and it is closer than the other vet we use for some of our animals. Well when they heard me on the phone getting her vaccination records they said I needed to pick between West Stanly or Brown Creek...which I think is absolutely none of there business where I chose to take my other pets to. Well the vet came in and refused to see her. I said she is sick and she is right here can you not examine her? his response "No, I am the owner and the vet so I can make any decision I want to"! I couldn't believe he was refusing care to a patient that WAS indeed in their system just because he wanted to. I reminded him that he was a vet and his job and duty was to care for them but that didn't phase him because he was a grumpy old miserable man. They aren't taking sny new patients but o wanted to let people that go there know how uncaring the vet is... last name Griffin... I'm not even referring to him as a dr because he doesn't deserve those credentials. Please pay close attention to this man with your pets because it is beyond apparent that he doesn't care. Brown Creek treated her like a princess today and she was well taken care of. sometimes at West Stanly they would take our dogs to the vet and they would take them to the back and we would never see the vet and didnt know if they actually did the things they charged us for! in short, DO NOT TRUST Weat Stanly and that good for nothing better they have. read more

I took my 4 month old kitten here to get neutered, one of his testicles hadn't dropped yet. So instead of calling us to let us decide if we wanted to continue neutering, or to come back at another time, Dr. Griffin made the decision himself and cut further into my cat. This left my cat peeing from his incision site, bleeding each time he peed, to not peeing at all after 5 days. We took him back to them, and Griffin told us to just watch him some more. After 2 more visits to them, another vet here sent our cat to Carolina vet specialists in Stallings. My male cat was then altered to a female, and is now on a very strict diet of a food that prevents urinary infections. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My dog, Scout, has been going here for routine visits such as shots for about a year now and I have never had a problem until yesterday. He had been sick for 4 days, not eating, or drinking, having no bowel movements, etc. I took him here to have him treated and they did not even do x-rays. They did a short exam and sent him home with some medication. Overnight he got worse so this morning I took him to Bear Creek and he is now IN SURGERY!!! Turns out, he ate something sharp and it was stuck in his GI tract. How could a qualified doctor miss something like this?! That is pathetic. If I would have listened to them, Scout would have died. My boyfriend and I normally go to another clinic in Charlotte, but our dog got really sick last night and we were looking for a more affordable clinic to take her to outside of Charlotte. We found West Stanly Animal Clinic on google and decided to try it out, and let me just say we are SO happy we did! The customer service at the front desk was exceptional and the wait time was so much faster than we anticipated! Once we got back into the room the Doctor was amazing and explained everything in terms we would understand. And upon paying and leaving I figured we would be paying an arm and a leg for everything we got (2 antibiotics, 1 parasites preventative, 1 flea medicine tablet, and 6 cans of special food to help her stomach), but it was SO much cheaper than the other clinic we went too... I'm saying like more than half the price too. I'm more than pleased with the service here and we definitely will be returning in the future if need be!! read more
