It was 96 degrees and way too hot to walk around for too long.

They have shuttles from various locations as there is limited parking nearby. The fair is located around the Cary town hall and beer garden. Wear your sunscreen and good walking shoes. There are lots of trees for shade but walking around you will be in full sun. Only thing I don't like about it is that you will have to carry all your purchases around but looking is free. We absolutely enjoy the fair!…read more Going to the fair is easy- buy your tickets online- it's free to park. We parked in the field on Edwards Mill- buses came every 5 minutes- very comfortable! Friendly drivers. We got dropped at the gate- then enjoyed ourselves- We didn't ride any rides - way too expensive (giant slide $7) unbelievable. The food was so pricey- one sausage $18 - lol - eat before you come (and bring snacks) Seeing all the shows and all the vendors- so much fun!

The garden/flower area was beautiful and they had some volunteers stationed to take your picture. It was a great two days of "beer sippin', bourbon tastin', music listenin', cigar smokin', and barbeque eatin'." That's what the website said they offered and it did not disappoint. Each guest received a souvenir glass to enjoy unlimited samples of beer and bourbon (plus there were a few wines and other spirits on hand to try). It was nice to discover some local distilleries and learn more about them inside the Tasting Theatre( where we opted to attend one of the seminars). We explored BBQ Food trucks galore but even if you don't eat it there were other options like Cousins Lobsters . I would say if I had to choose which day was best, Friday night VIP session included a Dinner Plate, where you can chose to get a sampler platter from the food trucks with that offer. I've attended the beer bourbon and barbecue festival at Cocoa Booth in Cary many times over the…read moreyears I've always looked forward to it in fact our group typically includes anywhere from 15 to 20 friends and family members who attend each year unfortunately this year's event was very disappointed One of the biggest concerns was the limited number of vendors especially those specializing in spirits there appear to be very few whiskey bourbon vodka rum tequila rye vendors I don't think I saw any vodka vendors and no rum. another disappointing change is the tasting cup and the lanyard I remember when they used to provide glass cups however along with the hard plastic tasting cup they also change the lanyards and now that is a cheap piece of rubber that stretches out of shape and the cups fall through so if you make a mistake and buy the lanyard thinking that your glass will fit It will not and you will find that you will lose your cup consistently and have to replace it some of us wait all year for this festival traditionally it's been a lot of fun and memorable experience We hope you consider the feedback and bring back the variety of vendors and higher quality event materials​

Lines were minimal. The food and beer were flowing. At around 12:40 it became VERY CROWDED !!! There were lines almost everywhere. They obviously decided to UP THE HEAD COUNT for VIP admission. My favorite foods were from Tazhikis (pork slider) and from Cameron Bar And Grill (pulled pork slider). WHERE WAS THE CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON ???? Nowhere to be found !! There were NO types of desserts !! Even the kettle corn guy was missing (and I brought some $$ for him). Just an all out amazing time. There is so much to see....so many vendors. The vendors have…read moresamples and authentic products. The Carolina Pig Jig is held outside. There are over 20 Masonic lodges that are competing for a win for best bbq and sauce. The tickets are only $20 and you cannot eat as much bbq as your soul desires. I look at this festival as a prequel to the state fair that is held in October.

I love this festival…read more The fact there is an NC based festival that focuses on local vendors and creators is such a wonderful idea! I went to the sip and shop area where you can get an alcoholic drink and wander around. I got to sample so many amazing local foods, sauces, and sweets. I walked out of that place work so much stuff! Then the agriculture center has livestock and learning experiences for the little ones. This festival is definitely a must try if you've never been!
