As I was driving at night, I noticed the city to have a more suburan feel. I saw lots of railroads. I found out after the fact that Colton was the "transportation hub of the San Bernardino Valley, earning its moniker as "The Hub City." As the site of the famous "Colton Crossing" of the Union Pacific and BNSF lines, Colton's residents literally grow-up around trains." Cool!!!

The following has happened since 2024-Colton utilities charged $12,000 deposit. You read that right. To turn electric and water on. Previous building owner used a lot of power. Our bill since has averaged $250. Still have our money 2024-2025 Applied repeatedly for permits to work on building, improve building. Can't even get permits to temporarily work on it. From planning to engineering to fire, they keep bouncing the apps between them. Everyone is terrified of signing off. What do we do you may ask? Strip club? Battery Acid? Nuclear Energy? Nope, we bottle water. That's it. Colton contracts out review work because they are either scared of being sued, unqualified, or lazy. The people contracted care as little as the Colton utilities people do. Every conversation they bring up all possibilities to delay or reject the building app. Bunch of sissies scared of their own shadows. Spring 2025-building graffiti shows up. I write to the mayor and Tom Welch, Mr "Colton Means Business" who is a happy talker and can't get anything done for the City. I hope for help. Colton police DID call me Gaffiti abatement program maybe? NO! Told me unless I cleaned up the graffiti in 72 hours I would be cited. Obviously I, the victim, was the problem. I asked how, since I was not allowed to work on the building, I could clean this up. Was I supposed to violate the Code department or the police? I also asked if stabbing victims in Colton were cited for loitering as they lay on the sidewalk bleeding out or littering with their blood. No answer. Summer 2025-Building still unoccupied and not permitted. Now broken into. Iron bars on gates pried apart. Lovely local citizens smash door handles off and break into building. More graffiti. Left their meth pipes on the office desks. Stripped wiring on building to fund their habit. Now we are hiring a fencing company. Locksmiths, alarm company and electrician. I am so happy to have a building in Colton. I really didn't know what to do with that $15,000. The drug addicts of Colton and their partners at City Hall (maybe the same people?) have been so much help. Have I mentioned the homeless guy living in the car in the parking lot now? Wrote to the City again, no replies of course. They act like they are Beverly Hills or Newport Beach, granting a favor to do business in their 3rd world town. My suggestion: DO NOT locate your business here. And if you do. Have your concealed carry permit and know how to use it.

I was frustrated that I didn't see any past history of my payments with their new online payment system via InvoiceCloud about a month ago. The girl couldn't stand my frustration and she hung up on me. The RUDEST one I've encountered. Lesson learned to never check e-statement. You would want to have paper statement. 2. I called another time to see if they could check/fix my water pressure being too high. They say they can check but they can't fix the water pressure valve. And today I saw on their website that they have this no-cost program for residences with above 80psi. I am not happy at all. I already paid $800+ for a new PRV. Customer service for CVWD need to learn what programs our district CVWD is offering. I normally check their websites. I'm not sure why at that time I didn't, and decided to "trust" their customer service's knowledge instead. My mistake again. 3. And... of course their rates just keeps on climbing higher and higher without residence's consent. My monthly bill (with 2 months combined) is higher than my bi-monthly bill. Hmm... I wonder what they're trying to mislead... But that's something everyone already knew... Sometimes I feel that we need more choices instead of a monopoly controlling our utilities.

After some trial and error, I've finally found my go-to for different services... And for plumbing service: Fred and Sons. They've been out to our home twice now, and we called them again because our first experience was fantastic (see my first Yelp review!). Today was no different--communication was seamless, pricing was clear and upfront, and scheduling was hassle-free. They even rescued us on short notice for a semi-emergency. If we ever need plumbing help again, Fred and Sons will be our first call. Highly recommend!

I messaged Freddy yesterday about my issue and he said he would be out here first thing this morning. Like clock work he is always on time and I can say always since this is the 3rd time I have used him since I found him in 2020 during COVID. I had him look at a couple other things for me while he was here and without hesitation he did. I also had him flush my water heater that he installed for me 2 years ago. He is HONEST & RELIABLE & VERY THOROUGH and explains everything so you have a complete understanding of what he is doing and what you are paying for. When it comes to the plumbing in my home which is old I won't even look for anyone else. He is my go to. Now back in March my 77 year old aunt who does not have YELP was selling her home and had a plumbing issue. I told her like I tell anyone else call Fred & Sons and she did. He got right out to her seen her issue and also her place is old and outdated he fixed her plumbing. She thanked me and said how good and professional he was. I have attached a picture of my ugly faucet before he fixed it. And one after of the beautiful work he did. Excuse the hose I had already pushed the fridge back before I snapped a picture. But good quality clean work! Don't shop around Fred & Sons is your Plumber!
