    Modern tv and clean room
    James A.

For the money ($83) this place is a gem! The bed was comfortable and the price was decent. Sure it needed minor touches...ex. baseboard tiles behind toilet was loose, the base cabinet in bathroom was worn slightly here and there*distressed look*, But here's what matters...the bed was clean and very comfortable...the hot water was VERY hot and pressure was great. Place was quite and clean. The pool was not green and lobby was expansive and cozy. I did see a little girl with a Shi Zhu while I was checking in so that tells you they are pet friendly. I will be coming back! Oh, they even have a putt putt green in back!

Awful..... nasty place! Room was never cleaned had to ask for fresh towels and they was reluctant to give any... worst hotel I'm ever stayed at

Doesn't even deserve one star! I booked this hotel based on it being advertised as a 'Staybridge'. It had 4 stars and at the time, nothing else was available with a kitchen, that was pet friendly, and could accommodate my family. So I went for it thinking I got lucky. We get the confirmation in email and I notice it's a 'Westay'. The confirmation email needs to be saved immediately because it will only be available for four days. Bizarre! The room I reserved was not exactly what was I was told I was getting. I was told I had a sofa bed for the kids and they would provide a roll out bed. There was no sofa bed and the roll out beds they provided were nasty and totally uncomfortable. The carpet was stained all over and totally sticky. The sofa was filthy, not only the cushions but when you lifted them, there was candy wrappers, food crumbs, stains, hair, etc. DISGUSTING! There were dirty towels still hanging in the bathroom. The hallways smelled of urine. I couldn't cancel and get another hotel because the lady said I would have to pay for my whole stay. I figured I would just lose one night's fee which is standard for most hotels. Not this hell hole. We saw a roach coming out of the vent in our room one night. Lastly, all day, every day(especially evenings), there was a strong smell of pot floating through the halls. it was so strong you could even smell it in our room. The only good thing I can day is that the shower water pressure was really good.

I tried to take some hairs off the cover, at some point I just stopped because I realized it had never been changed

This is by far the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. I would give it 0 stars if I could. ARRIVING: We arrived at our hotel room at around 3 pm- the sofas and chairs were so badly stained, as well as the carpet. When we first were looking at the room we saw a man rush in and lay a couple of towels in the bathroom and hurry out. We had asked if they actually cleaned the room several times and the lady at the front desk assured us multiple times it was clean. I go to inspect the room, i lift the covers off the bed and there are hairs everywhere on the bed and on the pillows! No bed cover and not a single sheet in sight, it just had the top bed duvet. No bags in the trash cans either. I go in the bathroom and there is hair all over the shower and in the drain, there is dirt or who knows what on the toilet and the floor is grimy/sticky. So disgusting. They clearly did not clean and just took the trash and made the bed (did NOT change the bedding) and threw a towel on the rack. There weren't even any towels on the sink rack in the bathroom. The girl at the front finally came up to see for herself, she apologized after seeing the room and took photos to show her manager. She had told us that all the cleaning crew had left for the day and could only give us spare sheets and some windex. I paid to stay there and had to change the sheets and pillows myself as well as using the windex to wipe down the toilet and rest of the bathroom?? After I did that she notified me that she was able to reach cleaning management and one person was able to come. We waited for 1.5 hours in the lobby while they cleaned. We arrived around 3 pm and didn't actually get into our room until 6:30 after a full day of traveling. I was supposed to go to practice after we arrived (here in LA for a tournament) and couldn't even go because the sun was already setting. What if we arrived late at night? They wouldn't have even been able to come to clean the rooms. OUR STAY: they do not come to clean the rooms, you have to take your own trash out and they only give you an extra towel if you return one or don't give you one at all. They clean once a week, we were told on Tuesday. They didn't come on Tuesday , we were told by a different staff member that it actually had to be a full week after your check in. The manager told us she'd send them the next day. They didn't come. We asked AGAIN, the manager seemed surprised and finally after the third day they came to clean the room. People in the next room were unbelievably loud, turning the tv on full blast for literally the entire day and night, I did not have a single good nights sleep. CHECKING OUT: We had to check out one night early so we asked the front desk girl 3 days before our original check out date of that was alright/allowed to cancel one night and get a refund. She said that was fine since we notified 24 hours in advance, let alone 3 days in advance. While checking out, the woman at the front called Emily (the manager), who knows us quite well by that time because of everything that had happened during our stay. Despite not even offering any sort of compensation for the ridiculousness of our experience at WeStay, she told us that the hotel does not give refunds and that we were misinformed. The woman at the front stated that the girl we talked to was new and that she keeps on telling people the wrong info. HOW is this place still running?? Simply blaming their employees and taking 0 responsibility, all at the customer's expense. We would've changed our plans if we had known we could not get a refund. It is not the hotel staff's fault, they are clearly worn down by the unbelievably poor management that WeStay provides. Emily did absolutely nothing to help, she was there for one day of the week and provided ZERO assistance or compensation for our stay. She replies quite often on Expedia and other travel sites, but it is all a facade. In person and on the phone, she's short and does not care about the customer at all. The poor woman at the desk started crying in front of us saying that this is her last day working here because she can't take all the complaints the hotel receives when she can't do anything about it because she just works at the front. I have never seen anyone so distraught, I felt so bad for her. Another man behind us said sorry about our experience while shaking his head and told us good luck. It seems as though this happens everyday here, I can't believe they have a decent rating on some websites. Besides the customers, the staff takes the overall burden- the cleaning crew seem grim and the other employees try to be accommodating & personable despite all of the negligence of the management/hotel. NEVER in my decade+ of constant travel/hotel stay have I ever seen this type of chaos, lack of responsibility, and overall carelessness of hotel management. DO NOT STAY HERE. It is not worth the price.

Bed bug bites on R side of neck in characteristic linear pattern

Disgusting hotel; DISGUSTING human beings. After staying in this hotel for approximately 3 weeks, I woke up COVERED IN BED BUG BITES. I went downstairs immediately and spoke to the GM/owner and showed her the bites all over me. She gave me a very scripted answer, telling me that I couldn't know for sure that's what they were, and that she'd been "in the hotel business a long time" even though she barely appears to be 30 years ago old.(I'm 44). Frustrated and upset(my six year old child was asleep upstairs), I told her that it was obvious that I was "covered in fucking bed bites," I could frequently smell marijuana in the hallways, and upon check in, the floor in my room was wet and smelled of mildew, the bottom of the bedside table was COVERED in heavy dust, and the foot of the toilet was covered in dirt and urine, and reminded her that THE ONLY ELEVATOR was BROKEN FOR 14 DAYS. Then she told me to "be out by 11:30" or "police would be called." I sought medical treatment the following day, and the dr confirmed that I indeed had multiple bed bug bites and wrote 3 prescriptions for the itching and discomfort I was experiencing. My 6 year old child, thank God was untouched.

Bathroom, sink and closet space. (Including iron and ironing board)

This place was awesome. I've stayed in hotels all across the US and haven't done reviews before, but this was just over the top, so I had to review it. Everything was perfect. From the girl at the front desk, the rest of the staff, the beautiful room, etc. It was an $80 room that anywhere else could've easily been $250 per night. Little farther from the French Quarter than I thought it was, but that's not their fault. Highly recommend this place and definitely staying there again on any future trips through New Orleans.

    Please stay away.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel…read more Upon arrival, the front desk attendant was repeatedly hacking and coughing and appeared visibly ill. It was not the first impression I expected when checking into a hotel. Unfortunately, the room itself was also disappointing. The carpet was dirty, there was an old cough drop and a granola bar underneath the bed, and the air vent blew dust into the room when it turned on. These issues made me question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned before our stay. To make matters worse, there was a wedding taking place at the hotel, and the reception appeared to be directly outside our room. The music was extremely loud and continued until around 9:30 p.m. Traveling with a small child, this made bedtime difficult and significantly impacted our experience. The restaurant experience was equally frustrating. I ordered chicken tenders for my child, but they arrived covered in a spicy buffalo-style sauce, making them inedible for a young child. I charged the meal to my room and only discovered several days later, after requesting an itemized receipt, that a 22% tip charge had been added. I was never informed of this 22% tip charge when ordering. When I called to ask about it, the manager explained that the 22% charge was for room service tip. However, the food was never delivered to my room. I was required to walk to the restaurant and pick it up myself. While I didn't mind retrieving the food, I do mind being charged a substantial tip for a service that wasn't provided. To make matters worse, my hands were full carrying three drinks and a bag of food back to the room, and one of the overfilled drinks spilled along the way. I also spoke directly with the hotel manager regarding the 22% tip charge. I explained that I was never informed ahead of time that this charge would be added and that the food was not actually delivered to my room. Instead, I had to walk to the restaurant and pick it up myself. The manager did not seem concerned that I was being charged what was described as a room service fee without receiving traditional room service. What bothered me most was not just the charge itself, but the lack of transparency and the apparent unwillingness to acknowledge why a guest might find that frustrating. If they had actually delivered the food themself I would have tipped more. The combination of the dirty room, excessive noise, unexpected charges, and poor dining experience made for a very disappointing stay. I would not stay here again and would not recommend either the hotel or the restaurant.

Linda (the owner) gave us a fair&unbeatable price for the Larger poolside suite despite it being Mardi Gras, Valentine's day, as well as it being the weekend when we arrived. Linda was a DOLL! She took care of us, fluffed our room when we were out & reloaded our fridge with breakfast daily. She showed us around the place and welcomed us like family. I truly felt like I was at mom's house. True southern hospitality. We had a few good talks about the history of her house and her life as she once lived in New Orleans. My fiancé enjoyed talking with Linda as New Orleans is where he was born and raised. Despite our talks, Linda does not hover! Which was so appreciated, when you're on a "romantic"vacation. We had our own privacy during our stay as each suite is separate and inaccessible from where Linda stays in her home. We came and went as we please and used the hot tub at night as late as we wanted. We had our own private entrance, which was incredibly nice. The privacy was appreciated as I didn't know what to expect when we first arrived, but I was prepared to be open minded. I think I will always choose a Bed and Breakfast over a lousy hotel in the future. The rooms were grand and clean. The bathroom was nice and the shower as well. Everything was clean. Its just an old house, but I loved the cottage vibes. It was home-y. The town is walkable and cute! A Mardi Gras parade came right through down the street, during our last day there, which was nice. The poolside porch and hot tub made me feel like I was at a resort. The beauty of the home is breathtaking! Romantic cottage vibes! Perfect for couples or even a small girls trip. I will definitely be back to Linda's next year when we visit again for Mardi Gras. Linda has made me never want to stay at a hotel again.

I had called ahead months prior because our room block was assigned here and was made aware that their conference room was under construction. So I let the sales person know we had to do makeup and tanning for a show. He said it be fine to do out of our hotel room being that all competitors were staying in here as well. So I booked 2 rooms. The day of services to be done came, and everything was fine until a woman that worked for the hotel called the sheriff on our employee. 2 times! Then she was asked to leave as well very rudely! Our group was reprimanded and threatened as well when someone at the sales office had assured us it was ok! So my employee left , no damages were done and no longer than an hour later they tried charging our employee credit card $500 & my credit card $500 twice ! So I called the front desk and the woman said very rudely that her manager told us to charge our credit cards!! She also added very condescending that I couldn't do anything about it because they were independently owned and that it didn't matter who I had talked to ahead of the event . She said that the hotel person's information that was relayed to me was not valid! I almost felt like they have done this before because they are "independent owned" . They know people will not be able to do anything about it. Thankfully our banks flagged the charge attempts as fraud which is also considered theft and no extra charges were added. I want to let other businesses that will try to get a room block that these people are super unprofessional , rude, and will try to put extra charges on your credit cards! They could have given us a warning, or they could have listened to us explain we had spoken to us prior to arriving, but they didn't. They did not care . Be very careful booking them for a room block or anything for a group of people or anything business related. I would do my research thoroughly in that area if you have an event! I would book another hotel to host your event. Holiday Inn ended up taking us in and were super accommodating & understanding down the road. So our clients got done that day. Thank you Holiday Inn. You can check in online and give an approximate arrival time. I chose 6pm, but at 11am that day, i was notified my room was ready. I still didn't arrive until six, but that was nice to know had my arrival time changed. They need to replace the sign along the highway pointing you to the hotel as the one they have is faded, and the street sign is not too visible, but it's easy enough. There is a spacious parking lot with plenty of parking near the door. Check in was easy, i just showed my ID and was given my card. The front desk employee was really friendly and welcoming. My king room was large and roomy. It was your typical room - bed, tv, fridge, chair, desk, closet (no safe), Krueig set up, the basics. There is no in-room microwave, rather, there is one per floor by the elevators and vending area. I had to turn the fridge on, so be sure to check that if you anything that needs to be kept cold. The bathroom is super tight for space. I mean, uncomfortably so. I was travelling solo, so i only had my things, but to get to the shower, you had to walk all the way in to close the door to walk around the toilet to get in the shower. I think that was a poor design. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. There was no road noise because you're about a block or so from the highway. While not the hotel's real fault, I was somehow placed among three rooms of young ladies attending a wedding who came back around midnight and were extremely loud with opening and closing the loud doors and yelling in the hallway. Not easy on the ears knowing I had a 4am wake up call for my race, but I didn't call to complain, and probably would have gone into the hallway to let them know had it gone on more than 15 minutes. I had to check out around 5:30am, and the restaurant looked like it was open, so that's nice. There was a note that the front desk person would return soon, but they have a key box, so i just dropped mine in there and headed out. The website says the pool is closed for maintenance with no expected reopen time, but I didn't try to go see if that was still accurate. Also, the price ended up being about $3 more than what my estimated price was, but no big deal, just be aware if you are expensing it for a trip. There are several restaurants and stores nearby, and downtown Covington is just a short drive away. Go a little further South, and you can explore the beautiful Mandeville lakefront area. The Northshore area truly is beautiful.
