So when I am out and about and find that I need something, I usually check to see if there is an Ace Hardware nearby; and that's how I ended up in this one. We had just put a property under contract to buy and the owner only had one key. We needed at least one spare to put into a lock box hung on the door and drove over here to have one made. It was easy to find and as I went in I was greeted and asked if I needed help finding anything. I asked to get a copy of the key made and was directed to where the machine was and quickly had the spare key made, paid for, and in my hand as I left the store...all in under five minutes. And the best part was the key they made for me fit and worked! As with my local Ace, they were helpful and friendly and quickly got me on my way.

I went to Cass City Hardware and the owner Jeff fixed me up with a generator that even I can start. He then added the oil and gasoline and showed me in detail how to start and run it. He sent me on my way with the promise to come back later to pay for it. Credit card machines were also out. I would have flooded by the time I came home, read the manual, went out for gasoline etc. you're the best. Shop local community businesses. They are our hero's!

After a few minutes, some careful analysis and a second opinion from a coworker, it was determined that they didn't have the size key needed in stock. I typically like to support these local smaller stores but I won't get laughed at for asking if a product is in stock at Home Depot or Lowe's. So we were in there constantly for paint,plumbing and electrical supplies,tools, yard decorations etc. Also many many propane fill ups for our BlackStone grills and our toy hauler. So my point is we were regulars in buying from them. So when we spent over $200.00 dollars on our golf cart battery we figured they were local and just higher on things. Fast forward to today 9/9/25 at 9:30am when I returned to the store after a rude employee telling me on Monday he didn't do warranty's and come back so I came back today. Talking to the owner and a gentleman today they told me that they were sorry I'd lost my receipt in all that I'd bought there in the past almost 2 years but they couldn't help me and the battery code that it was made in June 23 and probably shipped to them in August 23 and our purchase in Oct 23 would be out of warranty. It's unfortunate that trust with a loyal customer means nothing when you as a customer put up with over charges and hit or miss assistance from employees or the fact that they don't stand behind a trusted brands hassle free warranty stated on the product with date codes. Sadly they lost our business as we owned our own companies prior to our retiring and thats not how we did warranty work or customer service. Now we will drive farther just to get better service rather than doing business with them anymore.

She was very helpful, professional, and because I only have one arm, she helped me get the pair of pants down from top shelf so the others would not fall down on the floor.
