We also loved that our caterer brought in their truck utilizing the parking spaces in the front, which really made the outdoor patio feel more private and connected to the party inside. Considering that all vendors are booked independently of the venue, it made DIYing our wedding easier. Scheduling walkthroughs and mapping out the venue floor plan with Rachel was a breeze and Gemma was quite responsive via email to answer any questions you had. Booking our date was especially easy given that we requested a weekday at their hourly rate. On the day of, Tyler was the acting venue manager and was also great and easy to work with. If we had to do it all over again, we would still choose MSB. Thank you for making our day the best day of our lives!

The staff were flexible and communicative throughout the planning process. Because MSB is already so beautiful, we ended up saving a ton of money on décor. We also saved money by providing our own alcohol and caterer, rather than going through a venue approved caterer as many venues require. Everyone at our wedding remarked on the gorgeous setting and we loved getting ready in the bride's and groom's rooms! If you want to take first look photos, we recommend going to the Patapsco Female Institute, which is just around the corner.

Parking can be a nightmare, especially on the weekends, as there are few spaces available on the street level and the parking garage is small and located far from the main entrance. If a piece of equipment is broken or out of order (including fans), it usually takes weeks before repairs are affected. The biggest problem at the center, though, is the lack of rule enforcement by staff. Some gym goers seem to believe that this is their own personal gym and think nothing of dangerously modifying the equipment, turning the room fans off or physically moving them to meet their own personal comfort, talking on cell phones, playing music or videos audibly, remaining on aerobic equipment beyond the 30-minute limit, scrolling on their phones for 10 minutes or more between sets, entering the building from the 3rd floor and not bothering to check in at the front desk (are these people even members?), and on and on. Prior to the pandemic, there was a staff member positioned on the 2nd floor workout area who monitored the space. Since that time, staff presence on the 2nd floor is minimal or non-existent, and most staff members seem content to sit in their chairs at the front desk, staring at their cell phones. I realize it is a $16/hour job, but can they not show a little initiative and make the rounds to ensure that members are adhering to the rules, especially when it comes to cell phone use and dangerous gym practices on the floor? This situation is becoming untenable, as members are forced to either confront gym goers who are exhibiting bad etiquette themselves, or alert someone at the front desk (which, at least the two times I did went this route, yielded zero results).
