Once I finally moved out, they told me that I did not have any outstanding balance. I had multiple communications with the office staff regarding my final balance being $0. Two years later after sending a bill to collections they made the claim that I owed them $500. I spoke with multiple people in their front office, including Monique and Mellissa J who were less than helpful and extremely dismissive. They instead chose to say that they don't remember or have documentation of any of our emails. This apartment complex only cares to add charges to your rent. They attempt to squeeze whatever money they can out of you. There are better places to rent in Corpus Christi!! RESPONSE TO CLAIMS MADE FROM MANAGEMENT: No charges should come TWO YEARS AFTER someone has moved out. THE MANAGEMENT INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE NO FURTHER CHARGES AFTER MY FINAL BALANCE WAS PAID. TWO YEARS LATER, ATTEMPTING TO GET MORE MONEY FROM ME have charged an additional $505. THE FRONT OFFICE MELLISA and MONIQUE CONVENIENTLY CLAIM TO NOT KNOW ABOUT ANY SUCH AGREEMENT. THEY ALSO CLAIM TO HAVE LOST ALL DOCUMENTATION ABOUT THIS AGREEMENT. All this company cares about is getting as much money as they are able to get from you so rent at your own risk.

It all began with Kris at the front office. She has been so very helpful and made finding my new home here a real pleasure! She took her time and was very patient with me on the application process. She continued to follow up once I moved in to ensure my comfort and satisfaction with the apartment. Facilities and service technicians, like Lonnie, have been very helpful and quick with responding to the one issue I had with my key. Other than that, it has been all 5 stars! I love the openness of the layout, and the option of the patio or study on the two bedroom. I work from home and needed an office space, so this was a dream come true for me when I found it. Everyone seems very friendly so far, and I feel safe here. This was extremely important to me in my search. The grounds are kept up beautifully, and I enjoy my strolls with my pup and kiddos saying hi to the neighbors. I also rented a garage, and even though I have had a few hiccups with the clicker, they are quick to respond and make sure it is taken care of. The office staff has been great, Kris is a delight! Although, I'm sure all of the maintenance team is great as well, I have only had the pleasure of meeting Lonnie. He is extremely helpful, polite and knowledgeable. Keep it up Icon! :)

Staff is friendly, but thata probably the only thing they have going for them, that said, valet services needs to commit or they should remove that charge and I'll be more than happy to take my own trash out at no extra cost! The whole trash situation is probably the main thing I dislike here. I know it's not The Summits fault since they are a hired outside company but it's such a let down when I get home after having my trash outside right at 6PM (or a little after, pick up is around 8ish) and it's still sitting there by 1AM... what am I paying for? The rooms have everything we need, and the beds have all been comfortable. We like that we have little kitchens to make small meals in. Let's be honest though we don't cook much when we have so many good restaurant choices. Melissa is a kind and wonderful host. Barney the loveable dog is always by her side welcoming us. We really wouldn't stay anywhere else given the things we need are all here. We've even had family stay here. It's clean, its affordable and it is two blocks from the beach.

If you care about easy beach access, a nice freshwater pool, reserved covered parking, and peace & quiet during your stay, Beachhead may be just right for you. If quirky old properties make you squeamish, keep looking for a newer hotel or other new construction short-term rental. Note that we stayed in Unit 106 and rented via VRBO; your experience may vary. Our 3rd floor unit had 2 bedrooms with queen-sized beds, 2 full baths en suite, a large balcony with dune and Gulf views, full electric kitchen, cold A/C, and fine WIFI. There were 2 futon sofas in the living room to max the sleeping capacity to 6, but we found the space to be perfect for our family of 2 adults and 1 teen. We never heard any of our neighbors and got the impression that many of the units are owner-occupied or long-term rentals rather than vacationers. Other shared amentities of note: - charcoal grills & picnic tables - playscape - large gameroom - volley ball court - heated pool - key-coded gates to pool and beach access - shower station at beach access point The property was built in 1969 in a primo location right at beach marker 4, somehow ideally situated close enough to the action of "downtown" Port A, but far enough away from both beach access roads to limit the biggest (and rowdiest) crowds. Being 50+ years old, the property has some quirks and does show need for updates. During our Summer 2021 stay, we noted that the pool restroom showers were out of order and there were numerous drainage issues throughout the property following a week of heavy rains. The heated pool and adjacent clubhouse with lounge and games tables were in excellent shape, perhaps recently overhauled. Our unit 106 clearly needed refreshed wall coverings, remodeled bathrooms, and appliance updates, as well as more frequent exterminator treatment (although roaches are almost impossible to avoid on the Gulf coast, it's still a bit upsetting to see even 1; we made sure all dishes were cleaned right away and dry goods effectively sealed). Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Exchange of bath towels at front desk. The landscaping was beautiful and well manicured. Building was kept clean through out our stay, Pool was cleaned every day. Cons- restroom could be bigger and the furniture is a little out dated. Again this is not a resort its a condo. I can't complain for the summer price/water front. In conclusion this place was recommended to our family and I will recommend this place to family and friends.
