Western Beef is always the place to get food for BBQ'S and your home. It's the known supermarket to go to. You can get almost your monies worth. I just went to get a couple of things for the house to hold us over. Their prices are still better than most supermarkets. I spent 127 dollars and had two big bags. Be careful when buying pastries and snack from her especially the store packaged and bake one. I bought me the Apple Turnover the 4 in the pack no problem with the 1st three I ate but the last was full with mold not the outside on the pastry but the apple filling I didn't notice tell i took a few bite ! Man I threw up bought them the same day it happen so the store was at fualt! read more

I've been to Western Beef multiple times. Specifically this location. I grew up coming to this location before it was renovated a few years back. I actually really like my last visit here. I thought the supermarket was full because i didnt see much shoping carts outside but it wasn't crowded at all. The aisles were so neatly stacked and clean. I truly appreciate that. As soon as you walk in theres a self service hand sanitzer section. They also have disinfectant spray for the carts. Western Beef always has really good deals on specific things. Produce is never cheap here and as of lately meat isn't either. The box of Oxtail cost $150. I remember getting it for $70 prior to the pandemic. I was able to get a 20lb bag of rice for $5.99 and a 125oz bottle of Olive Oil for $6.99. So they do have some good deals just not all. They had a 32oz bottle of mayo 2 for $10 which i didnt think was a deal at all. The cashier was new and couldn't figure out how to get the sale items to ring up with the discounted price. Or how to print an extra receipt for the manager. She was really nice though and didnt take long to ring up the items for the most part. The gentleman by the deli was really nice. He listened carefully to our direction and cut the meat and cheeses exactly like we asked. They have precut deli cheeses and meats by the Deli counter. You can literally walk up to it, grab what you need and your done. We opted to ask for fresh cut though. The butcher man by the meats was also nice. My mom took a whole beef round and had the guy cut it into ground beef and steaks. I'll be back to this location soon. read more

In the Bronx with my baby boy on a late Friday night to plan an ill-fated party (which later was disappointedly canceled) we scrambled to attain 70lbs. worth of chicken. This is only my second time to step inside a Western Beef. The meat and poultry department is one giant frozen tundra here at 2050 Webster Avenue, as temperature is significantly less than the rest of the supermarket. Western Beef is serious about meat and poultry as it suits the American palette of burgers, hot dogs, steak, and all realms of greasy heavy meat to contribute the increasing obesity problematic. Aisles are clean and well stocked. One register is open for the fast lane of 15 items or less and the customer service area is nonexistent to actually serve customers. read more

My boyfriend who is a hard working professional black male was targeted in this location. He only wanted to shop in this location to buy food for the week for lunch. He came in with a suit and tie and a book-bag. He obviously looked like a working man. However, the security guard was forcing him to check in his book-bag. My boyfriend clearly explained to him he had all his work inside. People have the right to make their own decisions and not be forced to check-in their bag. The security guard in this location prevented him from shopping.This is not right! No one should be forced to check-in their bag. read more

Company allows thieves to roam around parking lot and break into their customer's vehicles while you are shopping in their store. The one-star rating is for the two employees that made the process somewhat smoother, considering the situation. Without them, if possible, the rating would be -20. I cannot comment on other locations but I honestly suggest avoiding this location. Someone broke my rear passenger window stole my belongings and my dog (who was not allowed in the store and was forced to stay inside the car). Although I do take responsibility for leaving a few items inside a bag, the Western Beef supermarket is solely to blame for this occurrence as several customers, employees, and police officers have informed me it is an on-going thing. The culprit seems to know that the surveillance camera does not extend to the 3rd parking lane, which I must add, the darn place only has 3 parking lanes. read more

I am so loving this store.The quality of fresh fruits and vegetables is huge. They have a wide variety of fresh baked goods daily.This is of the few places where I can find a Standing Crown Pork Roast that will not break my budget. I love the Cold Room where I can inspect the meat before I ask the butcher to customize cuts for sides of beef. It is good store and the quality of the food is a good value. The only thing I would change is to add more parking for handicap patrons and monitor these spaces more effectively. read more

Where else can you get 8 Varieties of Bread baked daily? Right here. I love the bread. And the meats are priced right. I shop bulk and they have Personal Butchers that will cut your meat exactly the way you want it. Old School New York with a touch of nostalgia. I go way out of my way to buy stuff here. My drive 45 minutes. But well worth it. read more
