And they've got a wonderful assorted selection of different meats and cuts...etc. I wanna give them a BIG thumbs up for their veal and their veal cutlets! They are hands down the BEST!! I have been purchasing them for years and I have never been disappointed. They taste great when prepared properly! This is an old fashioned meat market located in the heart of the Bronx's Little Italy neighborhood. This butcher shop has been opened for over 70 years, which is pretty impressive. They sell a variety of meats including beef, poultry, pork, veal and they specialize in homemade Italian sausages. I came in specifically looking for steak and the guy who helped me answered all of my questions regarding the different types of cuts. The staff was helpful and very efficient, they gave me a sheet with information on the different temperatures to cook the meat. I ended up ordering the NY strip steak. The meat had a nice amount of marbling and was very tender and flavourful. The meat was such great quality that even though I slightly overcooked it, it remained very tender. I only added minimal seasoning, salt and pepper with butter and flavor was delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for quality meat. read more

Best thing about visiting Arthur Avenue in the Bronx is getting to go into many.many shops to see who has the best o everything. Hands down, Vincent's has the best meat. They have the most knowledgeable butchers, and the biggest variety of meat including venison! Terrific selection of sausages and other prepared meat as well. Definitely digging this place. Was hoping I could start leaning more towards vegetarian, but this place is killing that pretty badly. From the disgusting photos I was able to take in the window, to the piece of Flank Point beef I ordered today, and the service I received, I would go again from Queens to the Bronx to return here. I am going to be fair and give this place Three stars. The upside to this place is that the meat is absolutely fresh here, and they do have a variety You can choose from as well as other products.I really wanted to like this place after reading different reviews but the setting came off kind of off once I was serviced. The reason why I cannot give this place the review I wanted is because the man that served me was extremely rude to me & came off as if it was an inconvenience to him that I requested three different sizes(I have different recipes which require different sizes). I'm not sure if he was having a bad day,but seemed to take it personal that I came in knowing precisely what I wanted.Apparently, he did not know I spoke Spanish and I overheard him tell his colleague that I was crazy because I requested him to cut three different size of Porter House steak. He would not make eye contact with me, and spoke extremely sarcastically while assisting me. This is not professional and has turned me off from ever wanting to come into this place without a male present (I'm sure he would have sung a different tune with my 6'2 partner requesting this).However I will make it simpler and never give my business here again.I hope the steaks are worth the headache I came out with. read more

I ordered from Vincents monthly for roughly three years, but since 2020, their prices have outstripped the quality. Charging so much for non-organic, non-free-range meat and poultry is unreasonable. This is one of the best butcher shops in the New York City area. I have been coming here for about 8 years and have turned many friends on to it! Prime meats are their specialty and prices are reasonable! Try their stuffed pork chops, bracciole and stuffed Frenched chicken breast. I was looking for some good tomahawk steak online because I wanted to prepare a nice birthday dinner for my boyfriend. Vincent's Meat Market had a lot of good reviews on their website and their prices seemed reasonable to the size of the steak, so I decided to order from here. As a steak rookie, I called and asked for advice on what size to get for 2 people and I was recommended to get the 48oz, 2 in cut. I ordered for delivery to Queens a week in advance and I called a day before my delivery date JUST to make sure it was shipped out on time. Although there was an "issue" with the online shipping system so they forgot to ship it out, the worker told me that he would drop it off to FedEx himself to make sure it got delivered on time. It promptly arrived the next morning so I REALLY appreciated that! The steak itself was AMAZING quality -- I honestly think it was better than Peter Luger's Steakhouse. I ordered some ppork skin as it brought back memories from when I was a kid and my mom used to make it. Used the same recipe my mom used to make, and it was delicious! I also bought some other products, didn't really care for the thin Italian sausage nor did I care for the meatballs. I find that the best meatballs are made with just ground beef, no pork or veal added. I will probably order from them again, but it won't be the thin Italian sausage or the meatballs. I'm not sure if the thicker Italian sausage would be any better but if it taste like the thin Italian sausage, I won't be a fan. read more

Hopefully this review is read by the courteous Italian owner (Peter) of this meat market who I know takes pride in what they do for it's a family owned business which my family & I have patronized for many years. Here is the problem, the Mexican workers operate the business with poor service (particularly communication) & no regard or respect for the customers needs as if they themselves are the owners. I walked in with my wife & 2 minor children, stand in line behind 1 customer & await my turn. One worker yells out "we're closed" yet sign on door read "open" & we were already on line for 5 minutes awaiting our turn. I point that out to him as his colleague calls out "next" to us. We ask for a whole piece of oxtail at $9.99 per pound ($45 piece) whereas I know of other markets where we could pay $4.99 lb. What happens next was most insulting. The worker without saying or asking us anything cuts the tail by hand wotb a knife in huge chunks not meant for consumption. I ask, "are you using the cutting machine?" He says, "no it's cleaned already & I can't use it." Well why didn't you say so or ask us how thick we want it cut since we are paying for it? He looked confused/puzzled by my question & replied, "I eat it this thick". I thought to myself it's not for you nor is this charity. The piece was thicker than a Peter Luger porter house. We walked out in disgust. Before leaving I addressed the "Manager" who turns out was actually the one announcing they were closed. I said "this is not the way you do business" & he agreed that worker should've told me machine was off & asked how we wanted our oxtail cut but he did nothing to remedy the situation or appease us. I know this would not have happened if Peter or any of his family were there or perhaps if we were caucasian. That said, we are longtime customers who love supporting businesses in the Bronx where we live. We shouldn't have experienced this poor level of customer service & before the reputation for quality meat & service is destroyed perhaps a relative or Peter himself should always be around at closing so that workers don't lower standard of service. Ps: I spoke to workers in English & Spanish to make sure they know how insulted we were & disappointed by the service at their hands. read more

Simply the best. Been coming here since I was 5. Even though my meat consumption has reduced, when I do want a quality cut this is the spot. It will be hard to find the diversity of meats, with the specific cut details at any other butcher. Want only dark meat for your ground turkey? They'll make it fresh. Need a whole goat for a family feast, they'll prepar it to your liking. Duck, bison, rabbit shot pheasant, they got it, in the finest quality available. They'll freezer wrap anything for freshness. Ok so it really pains my heart to write this update. I've been a customer for many years and Vincent's has always delivered. However, I just went in today for a pickup order of 4x 28oz ribeye steaks. Mind you, its a purchase close to 200 bucks. First of all when I walked out, I realized one ribeye was missing, so I went back and told them and they cut me one on the spot, now...have a look at the picture, there is no way that is a 28oz ribeye, 16oz maybe at best...and it wasn't weighed or anything..... luckily we saw this at the car and managed to catch them just before closing and this time they cut us a decent sized steak...I really hope this was just an off day...when I do my next purchase I hope to bump up my review back to 5 stars again but after today's fiasco...3 is the best I can give...for now read more

Vincent's meat is super tasty, but their delivery system for online orders has issues. On Jan 20 I placed a prepaid online order that was due to be delivered on Jan 22 between 10AM-6PM. The delivery window is really long which is tough for someone who is home alone with two dogs. If I take them on a quick walk, I might miss the order since I have to buzz deliveries into my building. The Jan 22 order never arrived. I emailed TheCounter@vincentsmeatmarket.com at 3:20pm to see if the delivery was actually on it's way or not because my dogs needed to go out. No one wrote back and the order never came. I did not hear from anyone 9:08AM the next day. ("It seems there was an error with the scheduling of your order. Im very sorry it wasn't delivered yesterday. I will put it in for delivery today.") I wrote back at 9:50am, "I would like the order today but we are only home between noon and 2. I'm not there now and need to leave at 2. Is that doable? Thank you!" Vincent's (via email: 10:39am): "I will tell my driver. I'm sure he can deliver within those hours." The meat came at 2:17pm and only after I called to complain at 2:05pm. The lack of respect for my time and the amount of energy I had to put into nagging people for my (admittedly delicious) meat is super annoying. I paid for an outdoor class at 2:30pm in the park (as did my friend who also missed the class) and I am here indoors and writing a review and out $50 thanks to Vincent's delivery system. read more

I came to this Arthur Ave specialty meat market in the Bronx just expecting it to be like any other butcher around here. What surprised me the most was the selection they have. I been looking for a place where I can get rare finds like rabbit for the longest time and, sure enough, they have it here. I bought some sweet sausage, grilled it at home and it was fantastic. Only down sides are that it's quite pricy and service at the counter is a tad huffy and rushed. Other than that, the quality is great and the selection is terrific. If you're coming from other parts of the city or Long Island, pack a cooler and stock up here. Will definitely be back and recommend stopping by here. read more

Sometimes you can learn more about a business when there is an issue versus than when things go perfect. My son was celebrating his 21st birthday under lockdown and we wanted to do something special. We decided to order a 48 ounce Tomahawk Steak (something he had never experienced before) and were happy to find Vincent's online. The fact that their online meat was fresh and not frozen was a big plus on deciding where to order from and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of their offerings. We ordered the tomahawk, some rib eyes, pork belly, pork braciole, stuffed pork chop and french stuffed chicken breast. So my son's birthday was on Wednesday and Vincent's sent out the order Monday afternoon. It was supposed to be delivered on Tuesday and while it made it to the Fedex location near my house, it never made it on the delivery truck. I reached out to Fedex and they told me they were having delivery issues and promised the package would arrive the next day. Wednesday came and, once again, it was not on the truck with no known delivery date. As the shipping packaging is good to keep the food fresh for 48 hours, if it was not delivered on Wednesday it would need to be disposed of. I reached out to Vincent's by email and received a prompt reply from Kenny. While the delay was due to issues faced at Fedex, Kenny apologized and assured me that they would send a replacement the next day. I thanked him and said we would just have to celebrate my son's birthday on Thursday. A short time later, I get a call from Kenny. He had been working to find a courier to pick the package up at Fedex but the package was apparently in a container and there was no way to access it. I told him I understood and mentioned that I would be willing to take a drive to the Bronx if they could get the order ready. He said he would hate for me to drive an hour each way to do that but I was more than willing to do so for my son. He said he would move us to the front of the line and could have the order ready by the time we got there and that I could just call him when I arrived and he would run it out to the car. When I arrived, there was a line outside the store at about 2pm on a Wednesday. I called Kenny and sure enough, he came out immediately with the order. He said, "There is a little something extra in there for your son's 21st." I thanked him for all his help. When I got home, we opened the package and there was a very generous gift in there for my son. He even crossed off the price and wrote "Happy 21st Birthday" on the item. That night, we made the Tomahawk along with the stuffed pork chop. Both were absolutely incredible. Last night, we had the braciole. I would say it was on par with my mom's which is truly a great compliment. I baked the pork belly last night for 6 hours and will be cutting and frying some up for tonight and we will be cooking the rest of our order on the grill tomorrow. If you are looking for a customer focused business with an incredible meat selection and great quality, you should check out Vincent's. We will surely be ordering from them again. This is certainly one of the great butcher shops in New York City, and probably the best in the area. (No disrespect to you Biancardi). The selection is large, the butchery is of a high order and the prices are reasonable. On my most recent visit, I went with veal shanks for osso bucco, a porterhouse, some lamb sausage, and a stuffed chicken breast with spinach and cheese. The porterhouse was of fine quality and less expensive than at Ottomanelli's or Los Paisanos. Often merguez is too fatty and yields too much grease, but not here. The chicken roasted up nicely, and despite oozing a lot of cheese, there was plenty left inside. I do have a bone to pick (no pun intended) with the osso bucci, which were tough (even after hours of braising) and not all that flavorful. Maybe I should have picked the smaller pieces. No complaints about Italian bacon (not pancetta) but regular bacon imported from Italy - beautiful with a great fat to meat ratio, and a piece of primo sale cheese with hot peppers. Those were great. Thank you for getting my cooking groove back. I live between Reading and Lancaster and with 4 supermakets plus Wegmans and Whole Foods, I could not get decent meat. I also tried ordering from Allen Brothers and D'Artagnan and everything is frozen meat. When ice crystals get into meat no matter about cryovaacum, the texture changes. With so many fresh meat options, I have made stuffed veal breast with fennel sausage, beef bourganoan and blanqueete de veau...The steak is fantantic. Ordered dry aged strips and 10 ounce filet. He was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our very large order was processed properly and delivered to us in a perfect and timely manner. We've been going to Vincent's for years. Great meat, great people working there. During this pandemic, I put in an order for delivery. Because they weren't specific on the exact delivery date (approximately 3 weeks from the time of the order placed...around June 4th) I requested changing it from delivery to curbside pick up. Peter said that wouldn't be a problem but "could not remove the $16 shipping charge". He asked what time we would be by to pick up and we said 2pm. My husband went to Vincent's...curbside pickup did not exist. My husband went in to a relatively crowded store with not one of the men behind the counter actually wearing their masks.
