When I went to the Cigna website and selected my dentist I selected Olga P. based on her high ranking score as a dentist. When we called the office number listed to confirm that she was a staff dentist there they told me she was. When I got to the appointment the front office lady seemed confused as if she didn't know who Olga was until I showed her the listing on the website. Then she told me that Olga was a traveling dentist but she did not work in this office. Looks like they lie about her working here over the phone to get us down here then give us the "we don't know what you are talking about" energy once you show up for the appointment looking for the reputable dentist we were told worked here. I will be reporting this to yelp and whoever pays their cap as well. A waste of time to go there if the dentist I wanted service from is not a dentist on staff. You shouldn't lie to your customers to get them to visit so that you get more cap. I used to work for The Guardian and Managed Dental Care so I will see that this goes up the chain. read more

Then when I get here, they explained to me that only the 35th Ave. office can care for my particular needs of Invisalign. In one appointment, Western Dental did not inform me of what services were and were not covered by my insurance despite promising to do so, so I got hit with some balance billing. And at a later appointment, it appears they did not even attempt to bill my insurance on file while still being in-network. Seems like that was worth mentioning! My insurance does not have a record of me being there. How is that even possible? Every time I tried to get more information, I get forwarded to collections. Had to call my insurance to learn what the hell was going on, and of course they only knew about the appointments that they were actually billed for. Confusing mess. read more

The office I went to closed up in the middle of the night with no forwarding contact info. It was located at 45th street/E. Thomas Road. I had a tooth extracted and was in so much pain afterward I tried to call to see the dentist. I have had extractions before without difficulty. There was no answer repeatedly so I drove there and found an empty building with fedex and ups notices of failed delivery. I made an appointment with a competent Dentist who described the work as a "traumatic extraction". Afterward I Western Dental for the money they took from me, and I was told repeatedly to "call back in two weeks". They would say a case has been opened, then it was closed, then "call in two weeks". It became clear after three or four times they had no intention to correct their theft. They represent the worst in business practices much less medical standards. If you can't trust them with your money why would you trust them with your teeth? I intend to publish this story as many times as possible in as many forums as possible to help others not suffer the same treatment. read more

They took X-rays. Agreed with the dentist. It was so wiggly like a 7yr olds tooth about to come out. Nothing to save. So it had to go. I was in so much pain! I went to the previous office on Thomas that's no longer there but this place/business is a scam- they arrange dental work and payment plans or will tell you it's covered by your insurance and then once the work is done, they'll say it's actually not covered and you owe money. the work they did was poorly done too! at the Thomas rd office, they left a root canal untreated and incomplete so that i would come in for another procedure? and they also treated me for braces too that were not effective for the period of time i had them on.... yeah wouldn't get dental work here read more

I was not impressed with Western Dental. Basically the people that work there are nice enough.But I don't think that the company is very experienced or efficient. I got lower implants and a new upper denture. They take molds and must have done a shoddy job because the mock up test dentures were so far off...and they would make appointments for 3 weeks and the parts didn't come in or else they didn't send the uppers so I'd have to wait another 3 weeks. I had to back and back to get them adjusted. Oh, Dena, was trying to act like she cared but coming back for adjustments was given to someone else. The dentist barely talked. They acted like it was a pain to take care of the rough edges and pushing into my gums. I spent a lot of money and should have gotten some other opinions. I would if I were you. Not impressed. First time we went we were told we'd have to return a week later since they weren't able to contact the insurance company. We returned a week later as rescheduled but they said they "forgot to set the new appointment up" so they told us to come back. The third time we went, they said they weren't able to contact our insurance company (again!) so they said we would have to reschedule AND call the insurance company ourselves. Arizona complete care insurance (AHCCS) is supposed to be accepted at this facility which is the only reason I came to this facility. Anybody under the age of 21 is supposed to have complete dental coverage, anybody under the age of 21 is supposed to get cavities filled and cleanings covered with Arizona complete care. Unfortunately, they did not fulfill this and they wanted to charge me a thousand dollars for a deep cleaning not even to fill the cavities I had. I of course, called the insurance company and after contacting them they told me it shouldn't cost me anything and to simply use another dentist. Going here will be a waste of your time and they will try to put you on a payment plan and charge you for things that they shouldn't be charging you for. read more

They gave me three different procedure codes for a basic cleaning and said I owed over $500 when my insurance company and a second opinion told me it was 100% covered under one procedure code. Service was so poor, I never made it into the dental chair. They did not have the forms I filled out online and made me fill them out again. I told them the appointment was or a cracked tooth while making the appointment on the phone, and when I arrived. The woman at the desk kept on referring to my "braces" consultation. Once again I explained it was a cracked tooth. She then informed me there was in insurance issue. I wish they told me that when the once took all of my insurance information over the phone. I was told that the next available appointment was in a week, so I would need to come back. I will not come back. If the front office is this much of a mess, I would not trust them medically. If I could leave no stars or a negative amount of stars I would. I went in and had a root canal and crown done. The total price was supposed to be just under 700$ I did a payment plan and paid it off in full. I just got a collections bill for well over $2000 that I had never even seen or heard of until it ended up in my mail box this week. I called the general phone number and was passed around. Ended up on a line waiting to speak to someone for over 30 minutes. The fact that I paid off the arranged price and received this bill over a year after receiving treatment with no other information is insane! Initially I thought it was for cleanings I just had for my two daughters, come to find out that they didn't properly charge the insurance correctly and they also had balances for their visits. I was going to go through them for braces for both my daughters but will be finding a new dental clinic due to the fact they are trying to charge me an outlandish amount of money after I already paid off my balance and improperly billed my daughters insurance for their visits. I do not recommend at all! Would highly suggest finding a different dental clinic as you may end up with charges that were never even stated and never notified of! read more

The girl in the front had me fill out the papers and rescheduled me for another day without letting me know I wasn't going to be seen that say I understood that I would be seen by a hygienist for the other appt. Sat there for 40 minutes waiting until I asked her and she said I rescheduled you ok well you could have told me and I left and came back to the rescheduled appt. I waited for almost 40 minutes and asked when I would be seen and was told I was next. They called a guy instead so I just walked out. My husband and I were talking about the situation. They tried to get me to sign some papers that I refused to sign for an open ended contract. We left went to our car. The doctor comes out and takes down my plate on my car and says he is calling the police. I called the office to find out why and they said they thought I was in an abusive relationship. What the hell. I decided to leave so they make a false police report. DON'T GO TO THIS OFFICE They did send the POLICE to my house after their office lady was screaming at me over the phone about the office visit that didn't happen. I wish I had read the reviews first. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 and I had completed check-in by 10:15. I sat in the waiting room for an hour. Finally, at 11:30 I asked the receptionist how much longer it would be. She told me they were "really backed up" and she had no idea when I would be seen. I wound up leaving because I had another appointment scheduled for 1:00. Reading other people's reviews, this appears to be standard operating procedure, and another lady in the waiting room confirmed this. You've lost my business, but to keep the clients you have, two suggestions: First, stop overscheduling; it's wasteful of everyone's time and very disrespectful to patients. Second, communicate with people when they check in to give them a chance to cancel/reschedule. I could have spared myself the 60 minutes of trying to ignore the Maury Povich show in the waiting room. read more

They will NEVER contact you. They cancel appointments and don't contact the patient that it was cancelled, so you'll still show up and find out then. I literally left work early to go to my appointment, so I was already losing money, and then they had cancelled my appointment and wouldn't see me, with no notice of the cancellation. The actual dentistry part of of this operation is okay. I was talked over, rather than talked to, and the outcome was average (in their defense - I have not called to correct any issues yet). I will - I just dread calling customer service to do it. If you ever have to contact the customer service portion of the show..... the only thing I can say is R U N. They will make you regret ever being involved with this company. I have never been transferred less than 4 times. The most was 8. They do not stay on the line to transfer you - so you have to verify your name, address and birthdate e.v.e.r.y.s.i.n.g.l.e.t.i.m.e. I made the mistake of paying early - they taught me never to do that again. The day after my actual due date - - I started getting COLLECTION calls. I went into the dentist thinking that I just needed a new crown. Dr Maurer numbed me well and then he went to work cutting off the crown. His assistant Ramzeya was very compassionate and she helped make sure that I was comfortable through the process. Once the crown was off, Dr Maurer found that my tooth was cracked and I needed a root canal. Dr Maurer immediately went to work on the nerve and I never felt a thing.
