I'm writing this review to recognize the wonderful staff who helped me today. A HUGE thank you to Vershawn, Jesse, and Elena! I came in for a free consultation scheduled at 4:45pm, but unfortunately, corporate booked the appointment without consulting the office. The doctor does not take consultations after 4pm, and the office is also unable to honor the free consultation unless it's specifically noted in the patient notes by corporate--which, in my case, it wasn't. Even though the situation was frustrating, the staff handled it incredibly well. They took the time to explain everything clearly, directed me on exactly what to say when I called back to reschedule, and even tried their best to get me seen the same day. (They absolutely would have if my appointment had been earlier.) I was able to reschedule for the following morning, which I really appreciate. I've been dealing with severe wisdom tooth pain, so I didn't take the news very well at first--but Elena and Vershawn were amazing. They were patient, understanding, and genuinely kind. They reassured me, gave honest advice, and made sure I had a clear path to getting the help I need. THEY DO NOT do services for kids here only checkups even though they say they take kids as their patients. There is a huge disconnect between corporate and the actual office and causes scheduling issues. If your kiddo has a cavity or anything else you will have to get referred out somewhere else. This visit was a waste of time for our family. We were referred to this place because we have kiddos that all needed a checkup. When I called to make the appointment the person helping me told me they take kids and would be able to handle their services but when we show up we're told they don't have a children's dentist. The staff did a good job overall but it wasn't disclosed from western dental that we can't get any procedures done here and now have to make a follow up appointment somewhere else. read more

This review is regarding my parents' visit to this horrible dental practice. The staff are very unprofessional from the front desk, manager, dental assistant, dentist. My parents were initially diagnosed with severe gum disease which they forced or scared my mom into buying their gum disease treatment which is basically hydrogen peroxide priced at $1000+. My mother is elderly and on limited income and they made her apply for Care Credit so they can make a sale. They refused to do basic cleaning and insisted she go for deep cleaning. They also kept scheduling her follow up appts only for her to show up and be told that she did not a follow up so soon. What a waste of time. As for my dad, he was told by the initial dentist that he also has severe gum disease and told my dad his teeth will start falling off if he doesn't buy their $1000+ gum disease treatment/scam. My dad went to his former dentist (who sadly doesn't take his insurance anymore) and paid out of pocket for a second opinion. This dentist told him the initial assessment was not correct and that he doesn't have severe gum disease and that the treatment Western Dental is selling is basically a scam. Anyways, Western Dental scheduled my dad for a cavity filling and there was a new dentist there who said he didn't need filling and performed dental cleaning instead. His experience was nothing short of horrific as he witnessed front and center how the dentist and the assistant were bickering at each other and being unprofessional in front of him. No teamwork. Staff seemed like they hate their job. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Long wait times, inconsistent diagnosis, fear mongering, scaring tactics to get you to purchase their product, unprofessional staff, rude staff, scam, the list goes on. read more

I do not customarily write reviews unless they are extremely good or extremely bad. Western Dental Redlands was simply beyond the pale. I am not young. My teeth have been crooked for years, so finally after a great deal of soul-searching, I consulted with Dr. Luu at Western Dental and agreed to get braces. Dr. Luu told me it would be a 15 to 18 month process, and that for the first 6 weeks I would have to have metal tabs attached to the back of my lower front teeth. What he did NOT tell me was that inserting those metal tabs would ENTIRELY KEEP ME FROM BEING ABLE TO EAT ANY SOLID FOOD FOR THE ENTIRE 6 WEEKS. When I got home, I tried to eat some food, and found that the metal tabs prevented my molars from touching each other; in fact, the best I could do was a 3 mm gap. Can't chew food like that! I complained to Misty in the office, who said that Dr. Luu is only present at the office on 2 days out of the week, so the next time he could attend to me would be THE NEXT TUESDAY, SEVEN (7) DAYS LATER. I got the tabs removed the next Tuesday, November 14, 2022, and told Dr. Luu and Misty that there was no way that I was going through with the whole contract, not after they had completely mishandled the very start of the matter. BUT THEN the collection calls started. I kept telling the collection companies that the work was incompetent; that I was not paying for the contract; and that I would bring a lawsuit under the California Rosenthal Act if they continued to try to collect on this alleged "debt." The contact attempts had stopped for about a year; but then on September 5, 2024, almost TWO YEARS AFTER THE INCOMPETENT WORK WAS PERFORMED, I ONCE AGAIN received a call from a collections agency. So I am now going to be taking Western Dental to small claims court for at least $2,000 and for my deposit to be returned for their unfair debt collection practices. And if you want to know how to do it, and even to join me, you can reach out to me by responding to my review. I do this freely and as a service to the community, since Western Dental cannot seem to figure out how to leave patients who suffered from their incompetent work alone. Avoid this Dentist office like the plague, They will bill your insurance for procedures that weren't done. The head dentist, the south asian woman is extremely rude and demeaning. They take X-rays every single visit even if they did not do work previously. I got 4 root canals done and was supposed to get crowns but they never filed it with my insurance. They want to pull as many teeth as possible. There were multiple times when I went in where I waited 3 plus hours to be seen for a 30 minute procedure. They don't respect your time, I also had 2 visits where I was in the patient area, they injected me with lidocaine, walked off and worked on another patient and by the time they were done the lidocaine completely wore and they had to give me another dose. This dentist office does not care about your health or well being they don't care about helping, they just want your money. Do not go here, everyone from the receptionist who will actively ignore any questions you have to the rude nasty dentist that goes on lunch for 2 hours, yells at her assistants in front of patients, and makes her patients waste an entire day in this hell-hole of an office to the sleazy sweaty slimeball salesman who wears his cheap dress shirt and tie and pushes you on trying to buy extra procedures that you don't need and comes off as a dirtbag, they are all terrible people, the only people that I dealt with there that were semi personable and seemed like they cared about being their was the assistant who took my x-rays and the oral surgeon who doesnt work there and just comes in to do extraction/ other procedures on call. but the rest are just there for the pay check. I'm calling my insurance and filing a claim against this business, they need to be audited and shut down. You will waste your precious time here, your teeth with get worse after going here, I can't get procedures done at my new dentist because this place billed me for procedures I did not receive. Horrible service. Let me tell you a story. I walk in 15 minutes early and don't get taken in for an hour. Then, it's visibly dirty. I sit in the chair in the back for 3 more hours for them to come over and convince me that my gums need a medicated treatment, about 1200 dollars. I trust the professionals and move forward. Immediately, they come and take molds of my mouth (again i am just there for a cleaning and don't need anything else done and they still haven't done this). Then, the manager comes over and tells me all the dentists have left for the day and I will need to reschedule. I go home and look up the medical treatment that they offered and found that it's pretty much a scam that western dental does. I ask for a refund and they told me that there is no refund possible. Insane how bad the treatment is. Some day there will be a class action on these crooks. Here's the kicker; I go to a new dentist and unprompted, they bring up how good my dental hygiene and gum health are. Save yourself the stress and frankly disgusting conditions. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would this establishment absolutely sucks I've tried giving them chances over and over again and they're horrible only reason I put up is because I can't transfer my orthodontist. The orthodontist dr is the only person who makes this place tolerable I came a couple months ago bc I had a horrible tooth ache they did x rays for about 20 mins and my face swelled so much then when I finally got the exam room they told me they couldn't help me bc they didn't have a dentist in like what the heck it's a DENTIST OFFICE, so I had to find a specialist who would take my that day. Then the cleanings don't get me started last one I got was 2 years ago bc they had me here for 3 hours and forgot about me in the back room so I left, so today I came to get a whitening because I called prior 2x and they told me they offer it. I was here for 2 hrs and all they did was an x ray and dr just poked my teeth all around and told me ok you're done I said what they didn't even do the basic cleaning that ALL insurance cover I highly recommend anyone who is thinking about coming here DONT DO IT . No wonder I constantly see new staff they brother don't like it here themselves . They honestly suck and it wasn't even a 1x or 2x thing it's everytime I come here but thank the Lord my ortho is done and I can finally get a new dentist. I can say that Western Dental has seen some ups and downs, with me alone but this trip was absolutely exceptional. The Ortho assistants, Alyssa and Krystal, were extremely kind and helpful in every way. When there were mishaps, they are very understanding and walked me through everything! Made my appointment 3 weeks ago and showed up to my appointment 15 minutes before and checked in. There wasn't many people in the waiting room. At no time did the receptionist say anything about them being understaffed or overly busy. After a hour of waiting I asked what the problem was and she told me that I next. Lots of people came in and were seen. I went back to the desk and was told that I was second in line to be seen? What? I asked to talk to someone in charge and he couldn't give me a answer as to when I would be seen. I stated that this is not acceptable and he offered to make a new appointment. Why would I do that? I have been hounded with emails from them and when I do make an appointment they don't see me? I have had 3 different crowns fall out and they never can give me any explanation as to why. I had previously went to a dentist for a filling which ended in nerve damage. after my concerns being neglected from the previous dentist, I was terrified to ever go back in fear that I would need another filling that would end in pain My mom recommended me to this dentist and I was reluctant at first but I knew I needed something done for the constant pain in my tooth. I drove all the way from Arizona (AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO) to see this dentist. Starting with the receptionist.. dawn and another lady that was there the day I went (I forget her name I apologize) were very very personable, friendly and helpful! They made me super comfortable (not even knowing that I was super scared to even be there in the first place). Dr. Shah was absolutely AMAZING!!!! He knew exactly what was wrong with my tooth and knew exactly what to do. He made sure my mouth was super numbed up before he started and when I felt even an ounce of pain he made sure he took care of it! The results were outstanding. Crooks! They not only made my teeth worse, they charged my credit card in full before even consulting with me about the procedures or allowing me to agree on the price. I was given one price, then the lady informed me she charged me in full for a higher price. After receiving the first treatment, I was so unhappy I decided I no longer wanted the rest of the treatment done by them. I called numerous times to cancel and dispute my claim. Nothing good to say about this dental practice, at least for my personal experience. The initial wait was not too long, it took about 30 minutes to get in for xrays. The x-rays took awhile since they do them individually and also a panoramic. What was strange to me was that they don't want to remove the X-ray protection apron themselves , they want you to do it which is hard because the velcro is behind the back. I could not do it myself and then was made to hang it up myself. Very strange didn't know how to hang it on the wall and needed help, like they're afraid to touch it after use. Not sure why. I was taken to the area with a chair and waited for the dentist. Someone apparently came into the room as I was sitting, though I wasn't sure who it was because I couldn't see and they did not identify themselves immediately. I guess it was the dentist, not sure who she is, but she is foreign. That fact is irrelevant, I only state that to identify who this person is. Again, I have no idea what her name is. There was another girl in the room who was typing everything into the computer that the dentist was stating out loud. I will start by saying that I have need for extensive work. Without going into too much detail into my condition, this seemed to frustrate the dentist. At least the way she was treating the mouse at the computer seemed to be her frustration. I felt uncomfortable, and the way she was talking to the note taker, the sighing and why she was poking my gums; prodding all my teeth made me feel judged. She was clearly aggravated. She basically told me right off the bat to just extract all my teeth and get fitted for dentures. I was obviously not "committed" enough to her to do anything more. This is not an option I would consider at this point. She didn't ask me and I don't really think she cared. The last time I was at a dentist was 2 years ago and never was I made to feel like a loser the way this dentist made me feel. During this process she became more frustrated that a couple of the x-rays were not clear enough for her so I was sent back to have them redone. As I was being led back for X-rays I mentioned to the girl that was going to do them that the dentist sure seemed frustrated, she brushed it off. In the meantime, this dentist tended to another. When we returned , she came back, stated I had an abscess and should pull the teeth in that area (I didn't realize I had an abscess). I would have preferred she offered options. She didn't do this, she was clearly not interested in helping me. At least that is the way I was made to feel. The 'note taker' was trying to sell me something that I would need to use every day and would cost a thousand bucks out of pocket. Basically telling me I had unhealthy gums and again not offering any type of plan moving forward. I had to ask if they could come up with a plan. I made the suggestions on an option and if there were different things we could try instead of what that dentist wanted to do to me. Just terrible, I felt defeated, and judged. That dentist never came back or took part of a plan for me. I was extremely disappointed in the way I was treated and the way I was made to feel. An important question I would like to know is do they change that plastic covering for the mouse on all their computers after each patient? I mean their fingers are in your mouth and then to the mouse and then in your mouth again, both during xrays and examination. I sure hope she changed gloves between me and the others there. At the end, I was sent out the door with a rushed plan without dentist input and no recommended treatment for my abscess. No one made time for me , and feel I forced the time from the note taker. Even the hygienist didn't have time to clean my teeth when I was told she would. This place is not for cowards or anyone with PTSD nor those that need extensive work. I won't be going back nor recommend for anyone like myself. PS, you can't have your xrays, they're digital and will only give you a printout. Sad because you only get a set paid annually by insurance. I can look forward to paying out of pocket when I do find a professional and caring dentist read more

I have been going to Redlands western Dental for at least 5 years but I noticed my bill after my insurance was billed was still overcharged and after I request an explanation of the benefits I was not treated well. I never had pain over anesthesia, usually, they num me first before the shots but the hygienist did not even wait for me to be comfortable enough. I had it done many times before without feeling pain or minimum. I did not see the Dentist either that day and honestly, I feel I was punished for my complaining. I'm going to have to leave but don't want to have to come back as I already struggle with the dentist, let alone this kind of place. Went here today for what I thought was a teeth cleaning. Initial wait time was reasonable. After that, x-rays. Then on to the exam chair, where I sat for too long. Was informed about my "problem" areas on teeth, which then led to trying to sell me some expensive products. Money is the priority at this place. All in all 2 hours I was there, and all I got were x-rays. Another customer behind me in the exam room walked out in frustration trying to communicate with staff. If you're a Denti-Cal patient, this is a great choice. I left my last dentist because he was a jerk. These folks are all so nice and very thorough. Tricia gave me the best cleaning I've had in 40 years, since I was a teen. Tricia also noticed that I might be grinding my teeth at night. She recommended I start wearing a mouth piece (no one at Dr. Caley's office ever noticed that). They have all the latest equipment including a 3D scanner and digital xrays. Both were new to me. I had good experiences with Western Dental 20 years ago in Riverside. This Redlands office will be my new dental home! read more

Arrived at my appointment (for a general cleaning) for them to tell me they would need to reschedule me because they didn't have a Dr or assistant on staff and when would be the next best time for me to come back in. When I asked why I wasn't called the front desk clerk stated they were short staffed. People like myself take time off of work, took the time to drive/travel to appt and have to plan around things like these.
