When I had placed the order over the phone, I had given details such as the graduate's gender, the color of the gown he'd be wearing, etc. so I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't quite tailored to my request. I assume he would've switched to English if I'd been a non-speaker, as my husband has never run into a language barrier, but I muddled through the conversation in my rudimentary Korean. I explained that I wanted to get a bouquet for my husband, and that they shouldn't be funeral flowers, exactly, but should feel appropriate for the occasion. He heard me out, asked how much I wanted to spend, and said he'd put together a nice bouquet. I went to pick it up a couple hours later. Western Flowers is a tiny shop in the Han Bat parking lot, bare bones except for the lush density of flowers. I walked in and was met with a warm welcome and an absolutely gorgeous bouquet. I hadn't given much guidance and was impressed by how perfect it was for the occasion. The bouquet was loose, as I don't enjoy collecting vases, but firmly held together. The flowers looked just as good when I put them in our own vase, and they stayed fresh and lovely for a solid couple of weeks. I told the shop owners that I needed a small bouquet, around a $30-40 budget, and flowers that are non toxic to cats. I appreciated how she was knowledgeable about which flowers could be used and which were toxic. (Roses and sunflowers are the only ok ones!) So I picked out pink roses and thought that was going to be wrapped by itself...but they added baby's breath flowers and little cute rhinestones in the roses and that my friends is called going ABOVE AND BEYOND for your clients!!!
