So much potential... ruined by a toxic board of directors who fail to recognize the significance…read moreand dedication of the volunteer staff. First of all, please go there and adopt a dog! There are too many beautiful loving puppies to name, but they need to get out of here and into a loving home. Soon. They didn't ask for this. As for the board, this is clearly a case of resume-enhancement. The only member of this board of directors who could *possiby* give you a name of even one puppy in the facility is the chief toxin himself. While he himself DOES volunteer, (and good for him,) he consistently telegraphs a distain for the unwashed "others" who give so selflessly of their own time, love and resources. He leverages his understanding of the volunteers' passion for the dogs against them, knowing full well that volunteers will take abuse after abuse if it means that the dogs will be kept from peril. Rules are random and subject to change at the exact point in time that proves convenient for management. A direct quote from this sad little board member, Jim Rowenhorst: "The job is to get a damn leash and go walk the dogs and show 'em some love. It's not to come up with a whole bunch of ideas, crazy ones, or to set policy! It has gotten so bad recently, and seven years [unintelligible] watched it we had a small group who decided they needed to change the frickin' world in here, which is STUPID! Absolutely STUPID!... ..."[they] decide they know how to run the place better than anybody else... and you know what? It's bullshit." This was stated, verbatim, at a recent volunteer gathering. People left in tears. These are volunteers who walk dogs in 107+ degrees just so the dogs can have a fighting chance... Volunteers who donate toys, food, time and affection... Volunteers with ideas and ambitions, often very good and altruistic ones. Bottom line, volunteers are chewed up and spit out. Just asking reasonable questions about clarification of policy will get you shown the door. THIS HAPPENS TIME AND TIME AGAIN! Rowenhorst is supremely unstable, insecure, and volatile. And it shows in every facet of the facility's operation. This is not personal. It is factual... and it is very, very sad for the real victims, the dogs; who, as I said, never wanted to be in this prison at all. Come and save them from this. But don't volunteer until this monster steps down from the board.

Also, she has boarded her cat with me for 48 days, used my services and when I request payment from them on PayPal, it comes back that the email address is under another business name called Media Publishers Inc. I have not been paid and the bill has come to $1,400. If my cat is returned September 4th unharmed and without incident, I will update this review accordingly.

We…read moreadopted one first and then were concerned that our adult cat was snubbing her, so we adopted the kitten's sister. We're glad we did! The kittens, now cats, have two very different personalities. One is reserved and unassuming while the other is precocious and somehow everywhere all at once. The cats are beautiful and we receive compliments on them all the time from guests. Most importantly, we received healthy cats from Marcia. I found Gambades Cattery through a Google search that also listed many other Balinese breeders. After going through a variety of websites, I found Marcia's to be the most elegant of the bunch. Oddly, most other cat breeder websites have black backgrounds with multi-colored, varied font writing, banners, sparklers, and other MySpace-like designs. Marcia's website was by far the most professional. After exchanging emails with several breeders, I found Marcia to be a class above her competitors in responsiveness and detail. Despite other breeders having kittens available when we were looking, we decided to wait until Marcia's cats had a litter available for adoption. Marcia made the process smooth and easy. She kept us up-to-date on the mother cat's status and sent us pictures after the kittens' birth and through the time they were ready for adoption. My family and I live in Illinois, and I did not want to ship an animal in the cargo hold of a plane. Marcia acknowledged my concern and actually flew to Illinois with our newly adopted kitten to deliver her! We adopted the kitten's sister shortly thereafter, and that time my husband drove to South Dakota to pick up the other kitten. Even then, Marcia prepared a kitten care package for my husband to take home, including cat food, cat dish, temporary litter, and cat toys. Knowing we have small children, she also gave us a kitten book, which we still have and read at story time to this day. Marcia is a kind and wonderful person. I did not know her before searching for a Balinese kitten to adopt. She went above and beyond, and I was more than pleased with her service. I would highly recommend her cattery!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY…read more Pretty sure the woman who said that they take a long time but are honest about it works for them. When I ordered my trap 11 weeks ago I was told it would take 10 weeks. Today online it says 16 weeks. Called to see what was going on with my order and was told by 2 very rude men that it would actually take 20. 20 WEEKS. That is 100% dishonest!!! Additionally, this is all because they keep lying to customers. THEN they cancelled my order rather than complete it. This is all because they decided to take on a contract and neglect all client orders. I love all the red flags associated with this company that they're soon going to be spiraling downwards. Don't say this very often about smaller businesses, but I really can't wait for them to fail.

I have orderedd from this company for years as I am heavily into TNR and they make everything by hand AND in the USA. This past year they had some growing pains and should not have handled Rachel's order that way, however that being said I would have taken it up with the manager and ask for some changes to be made when providing a lead time and following up with customers when that time won't be met as a well as a compensation for her large inconvenience. These traps are by far the most coveted in the industry for their workmanship and ease of use. I don't think writing the company off in the heat of the moment and saying you hope they fail is the proper way to handle a bad experience.
