That was issue 1. Issue 2. Went to use the ironing board, (within 3 min of getting into the room) which was hanging on the ironing board rest, and it was broken. We use the ironing board to add more counter top area for a small carry on. Called down to let her know the board was broken so they wouldn't charge us for breaking us. She offered to bring up a different one and we declined since we were going to make do. Issue 3. Went to take a shower, and found a very dried out, hairy washcloth hanging on the inside door rack of the shower. Hairs inside the shower and on the bar soap rest. Husband went to talk to the front desk gal, and dropped it onto the ledge at the check-in, and told her this was in the shower. She said he threw it at her, and went off on him. She would not have a conversation about the issue. She offered a different room, which he declined. He also apologized, which I don't think he should have done. I went down after he came back up to the room and had the same experience with her. She went on and on about how he threw the washcloth at her, so, I asked if we couldn't just talk about the issue and was interrupted. I asked if I could finish what I was trying to say. I just wanted to talk about the issue and what Holiday Inn Express could do for me, since there was clearly several issues. She agreed and went right back to how rude she thought my husband was and that she's a person, not a robot, etc. I had to bring her back around to the Issue and said I would change the room. Which we did. Issue 4. She sitting down was doing flower crafts at the front desk, and sat the whole time we had the "discussion" Issue 5. When asked for her name, she said, ask the manager in the morning. Issue 6. Quite alot of water on the floor in the lobby area in several places. UPDATE!! .. Husband talked to the front desk manager, Phillip this morning and told him of his experience with the clerk the previous night and showed him this review. He said her behavior was not acceptable and ended up compensating us. Apparently, the gal who"helped" us, Rachel was her name, had given 2 weeks notice and that was her last night. Phillip was extremely kind and generous, and went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you Phillip!!

Called to ask them about it the next day and was told by the woman on the phone (that I will assume is the Manager), Heather, to call back the next day (she's working) and she'll get something squared away so that I can have my headphones back. Just needed to show my ID. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Got some information about the hotel amenities and free continental breakfast times. Got my room key and I was on my way to a good cold shower and some peaceful sleep LOL. I was fortunate to get a 1st floor room. It was big and spacious with a king size bed. It also had a big desk, TV, microwave, and small frig. The bed was comfortable, but something about their clumpy pillows... they need to replace the pillows for better head support. The other thing that I didn't care for was the lingering musky smell of the shower curtains. Just wasn't pleasant. Luckily, I was only there for one night and just needed one shower LOL. Otherwise, I would have asked them to change the curtains. Continental breakfast was decent. They have the waffle machine to make fresh waffles. They had bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, apples, OJ & apple juices, etc. I just went for the raisin bagels (this was really good... it doesn't take too much to please me... just be the real deal LOL) and OJ (this was okay). Check-out was fast and easy. Just turned in the room key and left. Now that I think about it, the staff didn't print out any bill statement for me. Room was already paid for so I guess that's okay. Because of my bad shoulders, and my room was upstairs (no elevator, ugh!), the desk clerk helped bring my luggage upstairs, which I thought was very thoughtful of him. And, when I went to give him a tip, he turned it down! And the next morning, the same guy was on shift, and he helped me get my luggage to the car. And again, did not accept a tip! I had parked right in front of the lobby in order to check in, and unload my luggage, which was a red zone. So when I went to move my car, the clerk told me that I could leave it there. However, the driving instructor in me couldn't handle that. Haha. But he did let me park my car in front of the low brick work, which is still right in front of the lobby. Now I don't mind the carpet being a bit messy, as overall the room is very clean and tidy. But, the bed is firmer than I would like (a decent nights' sleep). The A/C works well. Though, the cycling on/off is a bit noisy. Now, this will bother some people, but not others. While I enjoy having the A/C blow directly on me while driving, and after working outside, I don't like it blowing on me while I'm trying to sleep). And, there was no way to deflect it, except for bringing the sheet all the way up. At present it is still daylight, so I don't know what effect outside lighting will have on the room. But if I need to add anything, I will edit the review tomorrow. Several of the electrical outlets are loose. Either the receptacle would push in, when I try to plug in something. Or, was so loose that the slightest tug would dislodge my cell phone charger. Other than the carpet, the noisy cycling of the A/C and a little bit of mildew in the grout of the shower tiles, the place is really very nice, and quiet! And, the night time view with a room, was night time! The water in the bathroom was nice and hot and the pressure was pretty good too. However, I was surprised that there were no grab bars in the shower. Edit 1: Well, I'm glad I'm not here for the view. While I do overlook the courtyard and pool, I also have a great view (sarcasm intended) of the roof of the restaurant kitchen. Edit 2: Forgot to mention the Wi-Fi. While I'm use to using it at home, to help save bandwidth on my cell phone bill, I don't use it very often in the field... However, the Wi-Fi here was very reliable, and imo very fast. At no time, did the connection drop. Nor, was connecting an issue.

Worth every penny plus more. Cass greeted us warmly and got us into our room very quickly. About ten minutes later she brought me some cooling aloe for my sunburn. I can't say I've ever been treated so thoughtfully from a front desk attendant in my life. I also loved the neon sign out front but a few of the letters were burnt out. This place is charming and friendly and I would recommend it to all travelers. Will definitely stay here again the next time I'm passing through.
