This Hotel was Grand Motor Inn is now Baymont by Wyndom hiding behind another name. It was totally shut down and now partially reopened with new owners. The service was nice enough, but watch your credit card statement. They say they allow dogs, and then they charge for them and proceed to charge additional charges called "cleaning fees" for having dogs in a "no dogs room" they assign for you with your dogs you disclose and pay the dog fee on. RIP OFF RIP OFF RIP OFF Steer clear of this place. WAS NOT ON YELP WITH THEIR NEW NAME SO THEY CAN RIP YOU OFF AND YOU CANNOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT IT!! That is why I am adding it. BEWARE. read more

This is my first review of my hotel stays for my road trip over the next four to six weeks. The Grand Motor Inn is very clean and tidy, both inside and out. Because of my bad shoulders, and my room was upstairs (no elevator, ugh!), the desk clerk helped bring my luggage upstairs, which I thought was very thoughtful of him. And, when I went to give him a tip, he turned it down! And the next morning, the same guy was on shift, and he helped me get my luggage to the car. And again, did not accept a tip! I had parked right in front of the lobby in order to check in, and unload my luggage, which was a red zone. So when I went to move my car, the clerk told me that I could leave it there. However, the driving instructor in me couldn't handle that. Haha. But he did let me park my car in front of the low brick work, which is still right in front of the lobby. Now I don't mind the carpet being a bit messy, as overall the room is very clean and tidy. But, the bed is firmer than I would like (a decent nights' sleep). The A/C works well. Though, the cycling on/off is a bit noisy. Now, this will bother some people, but not others. While I enjoy having the A/C blow directly on me while driving, and after working outside, I don't like it blowing on me while I'm trying to sleep). And, there was no way to deflect it, except for bringing the sheet all the way up. At present it is still daylight, so I don't know what effect outside lighting will have on the room. But if I need to add anything, I will edit the review tomorrow. Several of the electrical outlets are loose. Either the receptacle would push in, when I try to plug in something. Or, was so loose that the slightest tug would dislodge my cell phone charger. Other than the carpet, the noisy cycling of the A/C and a little bit of mildew in the grout of the shower tiles, the place is really very nice, and quiet! And, the night time view with a room, was night time! The water in the bathroom was nice and hot and the pressure was pretty good too. However, I was surprised that there were no grab bars in the shower. Edit 1: Well, I'm glad I'm not here for the view. While I do overlook the courtyard and pool, I also have a great view (sarcasm intended) of the roof of the restaurant kitchen. Edit 2: Forgot to mention the Wi-Fi. While I'm use to using it at home, to help save bandwidth on my cell phone bill, I don't use it very often in the field... However, the Wi-Fi here was very reliable, and imo very fast. At no time, did the connection drop. Nor, was connecting an issue. read more

Definitely not a 4 Star place as shown here nor a three star place as shown on Priceline. Old and run down. My room was clean, but there is no in room coffee and the toiletries are of the cheapest tear packet sort. Also, no complementary breakfast. Will pay five dollars more next time and stay at the much nicer Quality Inn. This place is rinky-dink. read more

Needed to stay a few days to visit family. First time booking a hotel in Deming. First night toilet ran non stop. Second night smoke alarm started beeping, the guy at night worked alone and had no help. Girl in the morning called woke me up and almost my new born saying checkout was 11am and I told her I was staying until Wednesday, she said they didn't have that in their paperwork and I needed to come down and sort it out. Smoke alarm was never fix and then he toilet handle broke and that was never fix. Should be a 1 star review but they gained an additional for the guy at night for being friendly and doing the best he could with no help. read more

Should have left then didn't think you could stay in hotel with no smoke alarm. Then the toilet ran all nite when to shake handle and it broke off. This hotel was good up until 4am when the guy next door checked in to bang his hoochy for about an hour, then decided to cook dinner using the microwave ( ding ding ding ding ...) Needless to say the walls a SUpER thin, The room is okay clean ( no detailing done here) wifi is VeRYBad couldn't use it form anywhere around the hotel. The staff was nice ( we got 2 courtesy calls before bedtime to check if everything was fine) The outdoor is super nice ( exactly like the photos) Rooms are okay like I said besides the fact that the cleaning could have been a bit better but not a big deal. Hair dryer cooler microwave Even though they are non smoking it smelled like it used to be smoker rooms. We come here every year to visit family. We've had family reunions here and have given this hotel a lot of business. We came here last weekend and pulled back the comforter and saw dead bugs. They moved us to a different room and those had bugs in the bed. We are never staying here ever again. It was so disgusting. Stop using all of your money on advertising billboards and clean this place up!! Thank god best western had rooms, they were super clean. read more

I'm not really sure that I can make any cons on this review. I was driving across country from Austin, Texas to San Diego, CA with my husband and my 18 month old daughter. -The Restaurant - I was super excited but cautious about the restaurant in the lobby. I'm not used to that unless you stay at like a 5 star in a down town area so I wasn't sure what the quality would be. That being said my daughter has an 8 o'clock bed time and it was time efficient to try the restaurant that they had. IT WAS AMAZING! I think I had the best cat fish I've had in my life. My husband was a chef for 10 years and also thought it was impressive. He had a mexican cuisine plate and loved his food as well. We also had breakfast in the morning which was also very good. -The hotel - It has an old time feel and it isn't anything like staying at the Holiday Inn or another chain. The rooms are similar but the hotel doesn't have that appearance. I needed a crib for my daughter which the hotel provided. I also had tried finding room for a crib like that in rooms with two beds. Although doable, it's not preferable. Surprisingly enough, when I booked my room (Which was a little less than 24 hours before I was looking to check-in), the rooms with one bed were cheaper than rooms with two beds. I loved that. I've always found it unfair at a chain hotel to pay more for less. All in all, my husband and I were completely impressed with our stay and would love to stay again as well as recommend it. We both travel a lot and have stayed a lot of places. We were very happy with our stay. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was when I booked my room, they said they needed manager approval to provide the crib. Since I was checking in the same night that I booked my stay, I called ahead to give them a warning about the crib. The man who answered the phone had never heard of such a request and didn't even know if he knew where it was or if they had one. I told him the information that I had read online which the hotel had stated so it was must be true. He said he still didn't know any information. He took down my name and number and someone did call me back on my way there to let me know the crib was ready for me. I was just disappointed that someone was placed at the front desk without that information. What if I was a walk-in and was making the same request? read more

I-10 to I-40, from Deming, NM take 26 to 25, shortest route, beautiful lightly used highway. But do overnight in DEMING, NM at the GRAND HOTEL! It's a wonderful, inexpensive place to stay! It's kind of tricky when you're driving across the country and hoping to find the least sketchy hotel in the area, but boy did this place really blow our minds. Friendly front desk staff, reasonable prices, spotless rooms and extremely comfortable beds. I should also note that I've never had softer hotel towels in my life. The best. While moving across the country, we ended up doing a stopping for the night in Deming as it turned dark. Its a great motel and one I would try to hit if I ever have to make that drive again (hopefully not). We got in late and left early so I can't say much of anything about how it looks in daylight, but it was easy parking for a truck with a car towed behind it and the staff was great -- very friendly and gave us the cheaper 2nd floor rate for a 1st floor room because they didn't have any pet friendly rooms up on the second floor available at that time. Highly recommended as a place to crash if you're motoring along I-10. Oh and we got in time to grab dinner there also and the restaurant was not bad, it wasn't top of the line, but the rainbow trout was better than anything else we ate along the way. Too bad we left too early to check out breakfast. For this place, I'd say the name fits nicely. read more

My friend and I went on a road trip from LA to the east coast earlier this summer and this was the first stop on our trip. I stumbled upon Grand Motor Inn on yelp during our drive and we decided to spend the night there since we were just passing through. The man who checked us in was very professional and friendly. I take my tablet with me every time I travel so I'm glad he told us that wifi was free. Living in LA and also working in a hotel myself, it was refreshing to see that they offer complimentary parking. Once we got up to the room, I noticed it was nice and clean especially since we were ready to crash for the night. It is rare that an experience fit the review! This cute little hotel just two miles off of I-10 is the perfect spot for an overnight stay. The beds were very clean and the room had no foul odor. Guys, everything about my stay was great. This is the motel you should be looking for on your trip. Pro: -Great pricing -Clean. Everything was spotlessly clean. -Courteous staff -The rooms are well furnished, even with a pretty nice TV -Secure parking out front. We had a truck bed full, and they volunteered to take regular looks at it when they went to smoke and stuff. Cons: -The bed was a little firm. Certainly not a rock, but it was moderately firm. -The dead bolt didn't work. It was hanging on the door plate, but with a little messing with it I got it to close. Summary: While it isn't a Hilton, this is certainly the best motel I've been to. It really is a nice place, with a nice little cafe attached. Highly recommended. read more

Fine. As in, "How was your stay in Deming?" "Eh," I replied with a non-committal shrug. "Fine." Deming is a place to stop driving. There are places to stay and places to eat but nothing makes you linger. The Grand Motor Inn has beds, mini fridges, a shower. There are slightly stiff white towels and those patterned bedspreads that take on a slightly slippery texture. There is an attached restaurant. Without venturing in, the only thing we could tell they served was beer. About six signs proclaim, "Now serving beer!" It's a rare resource, I know, contain yourself. We didn't have issues, necessarily. The front desk made a small, easily remedied mistake. The window of the room was cracked and taped. There were roaches immediately outside I stepped on getting in the car, but we didn't see any in the room. There are areas that need paint and tiles that are crumbling at edges but everything worked. Put this place in your DO NOT MISS file. Everything about this place was good. It was clean, comfortable, and friendly. First, it was convenient. Lots of parking and clean appearance from outside. It it attached to a nice restaurant (we didn't try, unfortunately) and had a "grand" look with the double inside stairs. The gentleman at the desk was not just friendly, but really wanted to make sure we were comfortable. The room was clean, right size and a fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable, and there was even a jetted bathtub in our bathroom, which was amazing after driving 12 hours. The main thing is, do NOT let the price scare you away. Not sure why there was only 2 reviews in 2018. At first I was very skeptical but as soon as I walked in the lobby and so the staircase and the decor I was pleasantly surprised! Never Judge a book by a cover! The young guy at the desk was very nice and accommodating. The room was very clean, it looked like it was updated! I read a person complaining about being too hot but I've already lowered the A/C because it got cold pretty fast. All I can say is that this is my very first yelp review and I decided to review this hotel or motel because the previous reviews did not do it justice! I'm not one to compromise my stay anywhere and i stay at very fine hotels when I travel. Oh I've even check mattress and it was clean. We were traveling from Las Vegas to Huston Texas for a family wedding and we decided to take a break from our LONG drive and stay in a little town called Deming in New Mexico. My father and I wanted to pick a good hotel to stay at, but not spend $80. After reviewing all the comments and user experiences on line we decided to go with The Grand Motor Inn and are we GLAD we did that. What tremendous service we experienced, from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. The hotel owner/manager was so NICE and accommodating! As soon as we got up to our room he called and made sure everything was to our liking and if we were pleased with our room and YES we were. We loved that they had a restaurant downstairs in the hotel. We had a pretty good dinner there and the breakfast was great for 4 bucks extra on our room price. Thank you guys for the great night sleep and service. We will for sure stop by on the way back!! read more

While traveling across country we stopped here to stay the night. This place was great. The staff was awesome. They are pet friendly. They also have plenty of parking for large trailers. We stayed here on our way from San Antonio to San Diego during a cross country trip. It is older, but very clean. It has a unique lobby with old pictures & a chandelier. The staff were friendly at the front desk. Our room opened into the courtyard, so it was quiet. They also allowed our pets (well worth $5). The room was bigger than I expected & the price was reasonable. There is a greasy spoon type diner attached to the inn, and we had dinner & breakfast there. The service was fast and attentive. The food wasn't bad, and it was very convenient for tired travelers. Free wi-fi, flat screen tv, mini fridge, hair dryer, shampoo, and good towels were all pluses. The sunset & sunrise in Deming were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again. read more

If you're looking for the Ritz Carlton keep driving....ha ha (you won't find anything like that around here) If you want a nice, clean, comfy place to stay for a song, then this is it. What a gem to stumble upon here in New Mexico! We are on our way to Texas from California and traveling with a newborn baby, when we found this place on yelp. The owner who helped us at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived and set us up with a wonderful room with all the amenities you could possibly need. My husband and I were quite hungry so we ordered from the restaurant which is attached to the building. We had the meatloaf dinner which was pretty good and for breakfast we had the breakfast burrito which was delicious. We will defiantly be returning to this place on the way back! Stayed here just before Thanksgiving 2014 while traveling to Texas.. This hotel is very clean and quiet.. The gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating and pleasant to work with, when we came dragging in around 11pm.. This hotel is a safe and refreshing break from the chain hotels you see everywhere... And almost half the price.. Didn't get to experience it outside of sleeping and hitting the road... But lots of charm.. And you gotta love the chandelier in the lobby!!!! read more

I had my wedding here and the manager and his brother were very rude to me and my family! He didn't even let us clean the next day we had to clean the same night of our wedding. A friend of mine stayed here for a night and when I went to visit I was not impressed. Although the room appeared clean, the window didn't close properly!! And the peep hole in the door looked more like a gunshot. Not only didn't it work, they had tissue stuffed into it on both sides of the door. I would NOT recommend anyone to stay here. read more

Check your sheets and don't stay in the "pet friendly room." The major highway was icy and visibility was down to zero so we had to stay overnight and get some rest. This motel room was one from those documentary shows where the host takes the blue light and you see all the nasty things. Well in this case you didn't even need the blue light. There were pee stains and smells on the sheets and blankets, there was also a white crusty stain on the sheets along with some cigarette holes. I also forgot that there was pet hair (black and white) on the sheets. Honestly I was prepared for the worse and asked for extra towels and I was so glad I did. I made a towel trail from the bed to the bathroom and covered the bed with towels. I didn't move one inch in fear that I would catch something. Unfortunately I am allergic to pet hair and dander so I was extremely congested for two days after. We only slept for about 5 hours and left. The older gentleman at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. read more

My husband and I spent a night at the Grand Motor Inn on our way back from Texas. The accommodations were great! Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great staff, and they even have a pool! When we checked in Arsen took care of us... what a nice guy! He took care of everything we needed and even gave us a great breakfast package for just $6. The restaurant and bar were great also. When we checked in it was time for dinner. Since we were so tired from traveling we decided to just eat at the hotel's restaurant. I had the combination plate which comes with tacos, enchiladas and tamales... very tasty and big portions! My husband had the chimichangas which he loved! The next morning we got to enjoy our breakfast package which included a full breakfast for each of us. I chose the omelet and my husband went with the pancakes. Again we were very pleased with the food at the restaurant! So glad we went with the breakfast package! At check out Arsen helped us out again and made sure our stay was perfect. He even gave us directions and good tips for stopping places on the way back to Los Angeles. What a great place! Such friendly staff! I'm glad with made this stop on our drive back. read more
