I finally arrived at La Quinta by Wyndham hotel in Deming, NM. I left my house on Friday at 12:00 PM and I didn't arrive at the hotel until Saturday morning at 1:00 AM. It was a very long drive, but I did have 3 stops along the way which averaged to 3 hours of drive time per stop. I try not to spend too much time at each stop unless I'm shopping for plush toys for my daughters which I did on a few occasions LOL. Anyway, back to this review, check-in was fast and easy. Just needed to show my ID. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Got some information about the hotel amenities and free continental breakfast times. Got my room key and I was on my way to a good cold shower and some peaceful sleep LOL. I was fortunate to get a 1st floor room. It was big and spacious with a king size bed. It also had a big desk, TV, microwave, and small frig. The bed was comfortable, but something about their clumpy pillows... they need to replace the pillows for better head support. The other thing that I didn't care for was the lingering musky smell of the shower curtains. Just wasn't pleasant. Luckily, I was only there for one night and just needed one shower LOL. Otherwise, I would have asked them to change the curtains. Continental breakfast was decent. They have the waffle machine to make fresh waffles. They had bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, apples, OJ & apple juices, etc. I just went for the raisin bagels (this was really good... it doesn't take too much to please me... just be the real deal LOL) and OJ (this was okay). Check-out was fast and easy. Just turned in the room key and left. Now that I think about it, the staff didn't print out any bill statement for me. Room was already paid for so I guess that's okay. Would I stay here again? I would if I'm going on a similar road trip. But next time, I'll probably fly. Thank you La Quinta! read more

I booked La Quinta Inn & Suites Deming because I heard they were dog friendly and we were traveling with dogs. After a 14 hour drive, we get there and the room smells like death, tired I was like let's just get some spray from Walmart and call it a night, all I wanted was a dinner a dip in the hot tub, a nice shower. We leave to Walmart come back with the spray, spray the room down, wipe down the room with Clorox find a weird bug near the bed, then pull the sheets back to make sure there wasn't anymore of those bugs, and they have yellow stains on the bedding. I call the desk and I tell her can we get some new bedding! Mind you I just want to go to bed - she tells us they are booked and brings us 1 blanket, covering her nose from the smell, she says open your window. I was so upset, I literally was like, can we not get full bedding, she takes pictures and calls her manager, her manager says because we checked in at 6:58 and it was now almost 8 - we probably did that to the room! Are you kidding me! Look at your cameras and you will see we come in, we leave, and come back. So mind you! Worst hotel ever! We immediately checked out, cause I don't know what bed bugs looks like, they won't refund me! I don't care at that point I was willing to just sleep in the car. I Found a new hotel across the street the Hampton! One of my favorite hotels, and they accepted our dogs! Clean rooms, fast friendly service and they were cheaper! I will never do a LaQuinta again!!! I thought Wyndham was a good name to back hotels but I was very, very wrong. We havent stayed at a La Quinta since a bad experience some years ago and this hotel proved to be worse than before. The hallways hadnt been swept and the elevator had old gum on the floors. Walked in the dingy room and the frayed carpet was coming up off the floor. The trash had not been taken out. The refrigerator did not work. The shower drain was slow such that you stood in your dirty water. There was a bug in the shower. The remote would not change channels so we were stuck watching womens wrestling. The internet was slow/did not work so we had no entertainment for the evening. The breakfast was mostly gone by 8 and there was no one to replenish it or clean it up. The cream for the coffee came out in clumps. ABSOLUTELY. NO. THANK. YOU. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. We are staying here and immediately as we look out the window of our room we see a couple breaking into the car next to ours. After telling the concierge he did nothing. We told the front desk about the TV and it sounded like a known issue based on their response. The cabinetry in the rooms don't stay shut, and all the furnishings are really run down. read more

NASTY & DIRTY. This was two La Quintas in a row that were filthy and disgusting. During an all time high of COVID-19, one would expect that cleanliness would be a top priority. The pictures speak for themselves. The toilet had stains. The shower curtain clearly hadn't been changed out from previous occupants - there was black mold all over the bottom of the curtain. There were tiny dead cockroaches along the bathroom floor and one on the ceiling. The towels all had stains on them!!!! The doors were banged up. There was a broken tile on the bathroom floor that wobbled when you stepped on it, a total falling hazard. There was no breakfast offered. Never saw any high touch areas being cleaned. Looks can be deceiving. In this case very. Just walking down the hallway to the i got a weird feeling. Comforters were stained. The desk chair looks like they found it on the side of the road. There was white residue all over shower and tub knobs. Shower grout was disgusting and sink has a huge crack with a dark ring around the drain. Wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyone. The only reason this location is getting 2-stars is because of the small enclosed grass area for dogs to go do their business. Upon checking in I found out that this location now charges a pet fee per pet, unlike most other La Quintas where pets stay for free, hence why I booked here. Then I went up to the room to find a used wash cloth under the head of the bed. The furniture is old and damaged. The elevator is dated and small. The gym is small and not very many options. Zero Stars! This has been the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. My son and I were on the road for 10 hours before we arrived to this hotel. We had to stop in Deming, NM to get some sleep before we finish our trip to my sons college in AZ the following morning. I chose this place as it was on the list of "approved" hotels via my company travel site. This hotel will now be removed. I had to use the restroom while the front desk was checking us in. The hallway to the lobby restroom had a gross smell and the restroom was dirty. Literally hasn't been cleaned in months. The paper towel dispenser was broken and they had a dirty towel hanging over it. This should have been my first sign but my son and I were extremely tired. We were given a room on the 3rd floor. As soon as I entered the room there was a weird smell but I could have dealt with that if that was the only issue. The toilet was broken (handle) and it was running loudly. I then walked to where the beds were and the first bed had a big stain on the comforter. It looked like oil or something dark. The beds did NOT look clean, the bedding looked dingy but that was all I could handle. I immediately went back the front desk and she (Stephanie) gave us another room on the 1st floor. This room was even worse. The entire room had a strong smell of urine! I went over to the bed, pulled back the sheets as I do at all rooms looking for bugs and cleanliness. The bed was absolutely just slept in and there was FOOD/CRUMBS in the bed. It looked like chips, cheez-its, and oreos (some kind of dark food crumbs). The sheets were not clean in any way, shape, or form. I was literally on the verge of tears because there was no way we could sleep in this type of environment. It is a HEALTH HAZARD. I went to the front desk (Stephanie) and stated we cannot stay here and I need a refund. She said she could not help and that I need to contact Elaine the next day. My son and I drive around and found another hotel. Holiday Inn and the entire process from check-in/check-out was perfect. The room albeit outdated was clean and no horrendous smells. I called and spoke with Elaine the next day. At first she was a little defensive about my claims but she went into both rooms with me while I was on the phone. She agreed with me 100% on my claim with the smells, stain, broken toilet, uncleaned/unwashed bedding and the food under the sheets! She even stated that the cleaners are not allowed to eat or lay on the beds?? She was nice and stated she will start the process. It would take 2-5 days. We are at 8 days. I have called her twice since then and each time she forgets who I am until she goes into the system. She stated she doesn't remember walking into the rooms and that she can't do a refund until she talks to the owners. She is not being nice but stated she is the manager but cannot make any decisions with refunds. She says she can't get a hold of the owners due to issues in California but this is going back to last week, when I made my 3rd call. Today was my 4th call. Keep in mind I am easy going. I camp a lot. I don't mind old. I can handle smells. I do not need fancy. I just need clean beds and working toilets. I just want my refund and now it sounds like it will be challenged by the owners per Elaine as it is up to the owners if they want to issue a refund? The worst. 1) Had a dog in the room next to me that barked. The front desk said I could move. So I did but that meant that I did nothing and yet had to go to the trouble of moving. 2) In both rooms, bedding was stained. 3) ALL the buttons in the elevator were broken, covered with duct tape with handwritten arrows saying, "press here." 4) Tv did not work properly even after someone came to look at it. 5) I was told my second room was an "upgrade" even with cabinets that would not close, stained bedding and that I would see the sun set over the mountains. The room faced east. 6) Front desk woman, at one point, was running through the lobby, yelling on her phone about some personal issue and saying that she had to take care of "stupid stuff" at work. 7) Worst of all was that the door out to the pool was broken and would not shut and lock behind you. I reported it and they shrugged. The manager later denied that was true. I have video of it. That is dangerous as anyone could come in the back without going through the lobby. There is a screen at the front desk with camera images. Problem is, all three times I went to the front desk, I had to call out for help. No one was there. Got a good night's sleep here. We had a suite which I think cut down on the noise and the extra siting area was a nice place to relax. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. One thing that bugged me was that they didn't have eggs or any kind of meat for breakfast; that is some of my favorite part. We had the dog so couldn't sit in the dining area but a waffle with cream cheese and jam is a fine snack while driving. Also I wish the dog area was bigger. It was so small I wouldn't even use it with my 70 pound golden. It might be appropriate for smaller dogs. read more

What horrible experience my mother and I had last night!! If I can give 0 stars I would! We arrived at 10pm desperate for a room as we were driving from LA, CA for 14 hours. We arrived and there was no one, 20 minutes later a kid came up talking on the phone to attend us. My mother was telling me she was upset and thats shes tired of waiting. The kid hear her and decide to KICK US OUT. Becuase she is telling ME not him that we were waiting 20 minutes while he was in the bathroom. We left, but if this kid is butt hurt becuase of those comments he will not get anywhere in life. We WERE NOT THREATENING NO ONE, we where not making a scandal! There is no need to kick us out and loss business, especially in this times! Please don't waste your money here. Go to motel6 where they were hospitable and friendly. read more

Got in last night at 10:30 checked in, gal was very nice. Unpacked got in pj's and tossed n turned bed was worn pillows hard over used, I had already driven 10 hours hoping to get a good night sleep. I explained to night lady at 5 am she apologized said manager would be in at 7, she gave me a new pillow and it was flat she then went upstairs and brought me a soft one. I finally fell asleep to be woken by kid running in room above me. I went to front counter to speak to manager at 7:30 only to be told she's out of town and that all she can do is send email so I can get a discount probably in 2-4 days, she then said she never had complains before and said people even request the same room. Well maybe that's why it's worn itself out. I didn't appreciate that she was basically insinuating that I'm not telling the truth. Didn't offer a solution. This hotel is Top Notch for the traveler. Clean, clean, clean. The rooms are big, nicely decorated, the TV is low to the ground for us disabled people. The rooms all come with a small refrigerator, with a freezer. There's a microwave oven. My only bad note to say is, the room coffee maker, is nestled so high up I cannot reach it. There's a useless lamp, next to the coffee maker, also so high, that I can't turn it on. This is a disabled persons room, thanks for understanding. read more

We needed a place to stay for one night. One night is all we could take in this "hotel". It's old and dated. There is no air conditioning in the lobby, hallways, etc. The rooms have outdated air conditioners. The worst part is that this hotel is not clean. The bathroom toilets have mold on them, the towels were dirty, the spigot for the tub has a lot of calcium buildup on it. the For some odd reason there is tissue stuffed in all othe plastic plates on the wall. The maintenance guy walks around in pajama bottoms and sandals?? This was simply a bad choice we made to stay here.. The only positive was Autumn at the front desk. Nice girl read more

Pros: - good location if you're traveling out of Texas and going west on IH-10. - reasonably priced - had pool (not much in the way of pool seating) Cons: - Couldn't get TV to work. Kept trying to find air stations which took 20 mins. - asked for some pillows for the sleeper sofa since it came with pillow cases but no pillows and the front desk told us they didn't have any and they'd try to find some on another floor, never saw them. Them not having pillows feels like Chick-Fil-A not having chicken. - On the subject of the sleeper sofa, don't waste the money reserving this room for an extra cost. You're better off getting the two double beds or honestly sleeping on the floor or in your car. - smell on the second floor in hallway was unpleasant. - the room wasn't appropriately cleaned, found towels rolled up under sofa and on side of sofa and the sheets/towels had stains. This is BREAKFAST in the La Quinta in Deming, New Mexico. No full service breakfast here while the last two LaQuintas we stayed the past 2 nights in OK and TX had full breakfasts. So is it a covid thing or a STATE thing or a "we can't get any help thing"??? Regardless, it's unacceptable. They could at least provide a box of cereal, some fruit and a carton of milk. Horrible. We were there last night and it was a real dump. The toilet ran all night and was badly cracked on top and it was so loose it rocked and swayed when you sat on it. The closet door was broken and would not shut. The furniture was in deplorable condition. During the night I got cold and when I went to pull up a blanket there was not one. Just a bedspread that who knows how many people had sat on it. The sheet was paper thin and the pillows were beyond needing replaced. The rug was frayed and the room smelled of dog urine. Since Wyndham bought La Quintas they are now run down and a sad relic of the past. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

The reason I give it the three stars is because of all the Quintas we've been in all over TX, NM, CA, OR, AK, LA, WA, we've never been to one where the only hot breakfast food was the waffles! I travel a lot and have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. The night manager that checks me in is great and very accommodating. I asked for 1 pm checkout as usual and he set it up. As Wyndham Diamond it's usually no problem to get 2 pm or later but 1 Pm was all I needed. The toilet ran all night and a crazy person knocked my door but I would ignore that. 12:26 PM I got a call from the front desk telling me they just realized I was given a 1 pm checkout time and they don't do that anymore. They wanted me out in 5 minutes. When I objected the lady was snippy and said 12:30 was the latest they gave to "Diamond or whatever it is". The Quality Inn next door has always been great and there are several other options very close. Even with the great treatment at checkout I'll stay somewhere else. Just not up to La Quinta or Wyndham standards. Been a while since I was treated that poorly by a hotel. Get out in 5 minutes after you know I was told 1 pm? Really? read more

I'm surprised I haven't written a review, given the dozen or so times I've stayed here. This is just another La Quinta hotel. The breakfast is fairly decent here (as it seems there is no consistency at the various hotels in the LQ chain). The rooms are spacious, although not the most modern decor. The suites are nice, but nothing to write home about. Just a more spacious room than standard, but not extravagant. The dog potty area outside is a joke - 2 foot high fencing, about a 5x5 square. Still better than nothing, but it wasn't impressive. Something a little bigger would've been nice, as there isn't anywhere to walk your pet without getting sand burs in their paw pads. read more

Traveling with pets puts you on the second floor, which is ok if it's clean. First room smelled like urine and we had to switch rooms. Second room seemed ok but the beds smelled. Which again if the bedding smelled clean I wouldn't of minded, but it did not. We packed up and left even though we had reservations for 3 days. This is the BEST Comfort Inn I have ever been at. All amenities available in room, nice bed, but the breakfast is the topic. Waffles, both toasters worked, eggs, potatoes and sausage, hot oatmeal, and the kicker is green Chiles for your eggs. Who does that?, this made my morning. Added to my eggs, with sausage on a toasted english muffin, yum. You can bet Dixit (mgr), is wiping tables, replenishing eggs, checking breads and muffins are available for you. You may never see this kinda of service again. If you see Dixit here, you can bet your stay and breakfast will be the best. Thank you Dixit, clearly the best. read more

Last night sounded like people were bowling upstairs. You can here everything above you. The place was clean and the staff was friendly but I dont think that I'll be staying here again. We were traveling across country from GA to CA with our dog and have been stopping at La Quinta hotels along the way. As all the hotels state on their website, they offer a free breakfast, this hotel also states on its website they offer a free breakfast. We pulled in and got situated and discovered that they aren't offering free coffee or tea or the free breakfast because of Covid. We are two years in to Covid and most hotels are back to normal, we didn't run into any other issues with these things from GA to NM. So if you are wanting to stay here because of the free breakfast, they don't offer it even though their website states that they do. Also the surrounding area is sketchy. read more
