The side salads are full of fresh lettuce and veggies. I had the chicken parm, which was basically a giant chicken tender with tomato sauce and mozzarella. We also had the brownie turtle Sunday and the berry pie. Both were generous portions which were a great value for the money. My son thought his burger was pretty good. Service is friendly if sometimes slow--they seem like they are always busy there, as it's probably the best restaurant in the area. They have a full bar! We also had some ice cream from the counter in the store. Very nice servers who gave generous scoops! The ice cream was excellent! Big store attached is great to browse for souvenirs or gear while you wait. I would recommend you make reservations in advance.

Hotel is the pits. They messed up my reservations. I was supposed to have a handicap room. I got…read morethere was not handicap. They have my checkout date wrong.! If you arrive 15 minutes early, they want $25 to allow you to check in to a room that is ready and waiting even though the room was not the room I reserved. I made the reservation a couple months ago was assured it would be a handicap room with a walk-in shower. I called 4 days ago from the Atlanta airport to confirm it and the room we were assigned was not the room that was discussed! Would recommend nobody ever stay here never make a reservation here. These people are incompetent. Their attitudes are bad terrible place. Never stay here again even though I come here three or four times a year to fish. I'll make sure I stay somewhere else I would stay in Vernal and drive up before I would ever rent a room from these people again.

This museum is located in the central business district of Vernal. It is connected to various…read moreother public buildings (city offices, library, etc.) so there is parking in a lot behind it. It is free, but we made a donation after visiting. This isn't the sort of destination that people would visit Vernal specifically to see. That isn't a criticism, just a fact. However, if you are staying in Vernal anyway and have some time to spare, this place is worth a visit. The exhibits are divided into different areas / periods (notable past local residents, WWI, WWII, Native American culture, etc.). We probably browsed around for 20 - 30 minutes. The lady staffing the front desk was quite friendly and helpful regarding local recommendations, etc. Also, there are apparently no bookstores in Vernal, so the gift shop here has the largest assortment of books for purchase for a 20-mile radius (or more). I'm glad we stopped in. I'm giving this a '4' based on expectations vs. experience.

From the owner: The Uintah County Heritage museum houses artifacts and tells stories of Uintah County, Utah.
