western roofing failed to cut the tar paper back under the roof ridge vent thus rendering the ventilation system in the attic useless. i had them out several times to inspect and resolve the problem. the company did not catch their installation mistake and as a result there is massive damage to my plywood underlayment. read more

We had a leak in our roof and these guys came out to look. I had two guys show up and nail a tarp down. Took these guys 20 minutes. They were only at my place for 30 minutes. I get billed $85 an hour for 2hrs of work. Total bill for 20 minutes was $385. I feel this company takes advantage of people in distress. My husband has a disability and can't get up on the roof to nail a tarp down. We called to discuss the bill and they never called back. Then we get a late notice with a finance charge of $5.85. What a rip off. I can guarantee we won't be going with them to re do our entire roof. They lost our business and we will not be recommending them. They'll get their $385 and I won't be contacting them again for services. read more

Contacted Western roofing about getting a bid. They were out within a few days. Got multiple bids and decided to go with them. They weren't the cheapest but they were very prompt on doing the estimate. That's the only good thing to say about them. Asked them a rough time frame of when they'd be out (I know projects fall behind due to weather and whatever else) about 2 weeks they said. 3 weeks later I call to see where I'm at on getting my roof replaced. Lady in the office answering the phone says that Tim's not in but she'll take my name and number and have him call back after lunch. No call. Next day same thing. Tim isn't here right now. I'll take your name and number and have him call you back. No call. This happened many many times over the next few weeks. I would've canceled right then and there purely based on customer service but I had already signed the bid contract. They finally come out. Had them replace the plywood on part of the roof. Completely missed the truss on parts of it. The shingles they nailed on the eaves of the house as well as in the attic the nails went completely through and are sticking out everywhere. It looks unsightly. They also killed my plants around my house from the tarp they put out. In conclusion the only positive is they'll get you an estimate quickly, nothing else. I will never use this company again. I would recommend you don't either. read more

I don't like leaving negative feedback for companies, however, I feel that it is needed. Western roofing completely re-roofed our house 7 years ago....Today, we are having to replace the entire roof including the ALL wood decking. This is due in part to shoddy workmanship, lack of knowledgeable installation staff, and blatant disregard of customer service. This started last fall when I called Western roofing because we noticed that our attic had a moldy smell. Much to my disappointment, I noticed that our roof decking was soaked in several different areas through out the entire roof and mold was growing everywhere....I called Western and the owner came out to take a look. He stated that it was a ventilation issue and that it was past the 5 year workmanship warranty...He basically told me we were on our own...I called two other roofing companies to get a second opinion -- upon further digging we discovered that all the nails that Western had installed had been driven in too deep which was causing water to penetrate into our house. I called Western back to tell them about this but they insisted that it was a ventilation issue or maybe a stick had gone through the roof.....Thank God our home owners insurance covered this cost! Please save yourself the pain and cost and go with another company. read more

I worked directly with Tim from Western Roofing and the entire experience was a pleasure. I am out of state and he replaced my moms entire roof with none of us there. The correspondence and communication were great! His attention to detail including even coordinating the dates and times with the fireplace install company who was (Marr's Heating) replacing the wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace. Tim and his crew made sure that the new pipe in the roof was shingled correctly as well as removed the old chimney chase. The roof looks amazing, comes with a great warranty, and I would certainly use Western Roofing again in the future! Thank you Tim!! read more

Buyer be very aware.Seen the movie tin man?I picked Western roofing as I had been satisfied with the job they had done on my house years ago.Mr. Smith the founder was pleasant to deal with. Time came to re-roof with metal.....had them bid....chose them. The work they did was approximately 6 years ago.Why am I writing this review now?I am emboldened by others reviewing them on Yelp and that I am cleaning out the eves.I now see the extensive damage they did to the insulation,and debris it created. I gave the salesman detailed drawings of what I expected,those drawings were completely ignored.I had picked a unique color,the salesman returned and told me that the manufacturer had it unavailable and they wanted to get started on as soon as possible.Yes guess what?They never started for two months,and substituted something the Foreman tried to sell me some of when the job was done.Do you think it's something they buy by the semi load? They removed porch roofs and reduced the size of one by 2' making it worthless for firewood storage.I wrote the Foreman a letter,letting him know,no fixy no checky.He had repaired a hole broken into a bathroom interior...in the process had tracked heavy,sticky gray mud into my house and on my new roof.This was the tipping point.How could anyone be so callously trash someone's house? The whole experience leaves me feeling they had a very low opinion of my intelligence.I want everyone to be aware of this outfit. read more

I can't believe the negative reviews that this company is getting on here! They we're nothing but amazing to deal with for my roof installation. We had to start quite a bit late to bad weather in the middle of December which was fine with me. I'd rather start late the. Start early and fill my house with water. Tim was very patient with me with my requests and busy schedule. I didn't even see them come out to do the roof the entire time. The roof looks immaculate. This has been the best roof job I have ever seen, there is literally 0 evidence they had to tear off the three layers of old roof. They did an amazing job on my TPO flat roof repair per my request. They called to notify me that I had to have a bunch of plywood replaced which I knew was going to happen. The new flashing they installed around my chimney looks great. They even installed ridge vents which look great. We also opted in on the algea eliminator option on the shingles which will help make them keep their color alot longer and fight algea. All I know is this is the best roof in job I have ever seen done. So with that said I would recommend these guys to family and friends with out thinking twice. Yes, they are not the cheapest but lining up all my quotes there's stood out and Im glad I chose them to do the job. Thanks Tim and Western Roofing! read more

This is a company that probably has many satisfied customers. Those would be the people who were lucky enough to have everything go as planned. When we first contacted Western Roofing to replace our 24-year-old roof (which had never had a leak) I told the general manager that I was concerned about starting that week (March 16, 2015) because of rain in the forecast. He assured me that it wouldn't be a problem, as they would securely tarp and protect our roof. He also said that the bid that they had given us would not be in effect if we waited, as the job would be much more expensive later in the spring. So, under pressure, we decided to go ahead and trust him. This was a huge mistake on our part. The rains came while the roof was incomplete and insufficiently protected. This allowed water to flood our carport attic, as well as cause damage to attic insulation, interior ceilings, walls, carpets, and flooring on two levels of our home. Probably to avoid litigation, the company did grudgingly subcontract to repair most damage (which also included an exterior light fixture which had been crushed by one of their trucks), although I was told at first that I could dry everything myself with a small space heater and oscillating fan! The general manager also advised me not to contact our own insurance agent as they wouldn't cover any damage, which turned out to be absolutely untrue. These repairs took more than four weeks, including a week of horrendous noise, 24 hours a day, from huge blowers and dehumidifiers. Perhaps even worse than all of the damage and interference with our lives was the attitude of the general manager who, although cordial before all of this, was extremely rude to us after the damage occurred, incredibly even blaming me for not taking care of some of the damage myself. When I eventually asked the company president to compensate us for the stress that we had to endure (compensation which hadn't been proffered) and suggested at least 20%, he gave us a token $500 discount, which amounted to less than 7% of the total invoice total. We still have an ugly stain on our downstairs carpet, which was never properly cleaned, and I'm still picking up debris from the job, including a piece of roofing thrown in our pond. The general manager also refused at first request to give us a hard copy of the "5 year company guarantee," saying that there was no "hard copy" since it has always been based on verbal trust between Western Roofing and their customers. If I wasn't still stressed by the whole debacle I'd probably find that statement laughable. read more

These people are a joke. They promised to fix our leaky roof on Monday. Great weather made for a terrific opportunity. I stayed home from work all day and they didn't show up. So I call and they're sorry as hell and they promise to come on Tuesday. So I stay home from work all day again. I finally called a few minutes ago. Ooopsie! Not coming out today! So that's TWO days off work waiting for these clowns. Nobody thought to call either day to tell us they're plans had changed. I have no idea if they're any good, but I do they they're very irresponsible. read more
