We have been renting a house in Monmouth for about 2 years.  About a month ago, i realized there was a leak behind our bathroom wall that shared my bedroom wall.  I called and complained.  Bad news:  it took them a few days to stop by.  Good news:  Once they saw the damage to my bedroom wall and floor, they started to fix the problem immediately.  They completely replaced the pipe, drywall, carpet and paint.  Everything was fixed, new and clean after about a week of work. Western view is just pretty eh. I lived there for over a year and they were pretty disappointing. Upon viewing the property before moving in, I noticed the apartment still needed a lot of cleaning to be done. Western view assured me that it would be cleaned before I moved in but unfortunately, that did not happen. I had to deep clean it before moving my stuff in. They also took my entire security deposit and gave a very vague, ambiguous description of what the money went towards. The facility was kept decently clean, but it would be helpful if they paid for the trash to be picked up 2x weekly, as it is too small for the amount of people that lived at the complex. Overall, I'd say they're decently unprofessional and they lost our checks a couple of times and would blame us, even though we put them in their one and only drop box. read more

Worst property management company I have ever dealt with. First off I've lived at this property for 3 years. They leave a letter regarding a property inspection. Keep in mind I paid the security deposit. They have the nerve to finish the inspection say nothing till the end and when asked how long I've lived here. She starts looking around and spontaneously says the walls are dirty. Then she adds this is unacceptable. We're going to have to charge a second security deposit. I go on to question her why? When I had already paid $900 for my original security deposit which should include painting and cleaning. They did charge me a second deposit. There are no holes. No broken doors or cabinets. Nothing. They also charged me 400$ For replacing a heater. There was a colored pencil in the heater which was why the electrician came in the first place but he took it out and it was undamaged so I should have only paid for the house call. Not replacement. he replaced it because it was out of date and had no safety shut off when it got too hot. Through these 3 years, I have also dealt with 2 of my neighbors harassing me. Pounding on my walls when my 2 week old baby cried at night. (I had ran from an abusive relationship and actually moved there using a domestic violence grant. Which they stole by adding a second deposit) so her pounding scared me and my 2 young children. All management said was to report it to police. She then started coming to my door shaking and spitting everywhere as she screamed at me for being loud in the middle of the afternoon. To things as simple as my son rolling a toy car on my hard floor at 1:23pm. Westernview never even called me back about that one. The same neighbor smokes weed in her apartment but complained about me smoking on my porch. Management ended up making the property a non smoking property which the harassing neighbor still smokes on with no reprocussions. The neighbor had an outdoor gazebo thing in her back yard for 2 summers straight. I got the EXACT same one and put it up and got a letter from westernview the next day saying that they do not allow those because it blocks off the 'walkway' behind our apartments. She encourages the other kids to bully my children. She will put sprinklers in the commons for all the kids and if my kid goes outside she actually picks it up and says 'sorry kids. I don't want her using my stuff so everyone is done' she has yelled at my daughter. Thrown mud/rock clots at my house. I have sent westernview videos of her screaming at other neighbors as well. Westernview said 'unfortunately we couldn't hear what she was saying' and did nothing. That is not even half of what she has done. Not even close and they have done nothing. Now her friend who lives in another unit here is starting the same. Yelling at me for walking through the same 'walkway' out back that westernview said I couldn't block. Yelling at me for wearing a swimming suit because it's 'nasty' while playing with my kids in a sprinkler. Police cannot do anything because they aren't physically harming me but all westernview does is sends letters out asking them to be nice then does absolutely nothing when they continue making it impossible for me and my children to live peacefully. We even have photos of westernview skipping my bushes When they landscape. Please do not ever rent from these people unless you want a lot of extra fees for no reason. If there was a scale that could go to zero, western view properties would have a BIG FAT ZERO! This house was dirty, holes everything, the wall jacks were burnt out, not up to code, dangerous to live in. There was a mold smell coming from the basement. The basement floods yearly due to maintenance stupidity. The smoke detectors do not have CO alarms, which the house has gas and this brakes Oregon laws. The furnace has a do not remove tag that says it is out of code and the tag has been on since 2016. The management were not going to come and fix the problems within the house. If you are wanting to make a friend, don't worry there are very sweet ants who come in packs. If you ever want to get out of a lease it only takes 14 minutes to making them realize that they are a running a fraudulent business. P.S the owner who doesn't live here would like you not to touch their personal belongings. RUN, RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! read more

It's sad when a renter had to go to the BBB to have a light put in after asking for 10 months for a walkway light because your 73 year old dad fell out there. Can't have pets unless you are the sister of the manager. Don't try to get the wasp hive removed because they will take their sweet time like a month. Kids were getting stung I got stung in the lip which swelled up so bad my job sent me home. Make sure you don't live in one of their places during a pandemic. They will charge you extra for being late on rent if that's not enough during that same pandemic they help you out by raising your rent. They leave the place dirty like onions with tentacles growing out of them, grease above the stove and the mold. If you have bad credit don't worry, they will rent to you....for double the deposit and if you make sure your place is spotless when you move they will be happy to find things to charge you for like changing the locks, windows and a trash overflow fee two weeks after you move. If you request another trash dumpster they won't listen so they can get their precious 4-8 dollars a month from the people renting from them. If you are able, get a roommate and pay a little more for a rental company that actually cares about you, not this place. read more

I rented from this company for about 5 years. To say the least, thank god there was an owner of my building who actually got things done when it came to maintenance issues and everything else. This rental company is hard to work with and lacks customer service skills. BEWARE if you do rent from this company, no matter how shi**y of a unit they rent to you, no matter how much you put into it to fix it up... they will scam you out of your security deposit. MAKE SURE YOU TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES and do final walkthroughs. If they do not provide you receipts like they didn't with me, they're legally not allowed to keep your deposit for their 'said' reasons. Once again thank god I had a owner to the building whom I did a final walkthrough with because he actually helped me get my security deposit back when they're trying to keep it for nonsense reasons. Horrible experience with them. House is trying to be sold as my son rents it. They show the house several times a day and haven't discounted the rent for the inconvenience. They had the roof removed and never informed the tenants it would be occurring, and at 8:30 am in the summer. When they were called said they didn't need to let them know if anything outside the house was being done. Isn't a roof part of the house!?! Now their debit machine is down to pay the rent and won't take cash. So, unless you have a check they will charge a late fee to pay tomorrow when their machine is back up. The person I spoke with, Veronica, tried telling me she had recorded our conversation (not sure why). I had to inform her it was illegal to do unless she had informed me at the beginning. They are the worst to rent from. Rented with them for 2 years and had numerous problems! If we needed anything done we ended up going over them and talking to the owner of the house. When we moved out they told us we owed them money from the security deposit because it didn't cover costs of cleaning the house, we had asked them numerous times when we moved in to clean the blinds and carpets (the stuff they are saying they clean with the security deposit when you move out for new tenants). There was a leak in the upstairs bathtub that took them more than 6 months to fix and then tried to tell us we still had to pay full rent even though the whole room and bathroom was unlivable. If I could give them a zero I would. They take advantage of people and WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK. They will always say the manager isn't there but he is and just doesn't want to answer the call. The card reader is never working and will try and charge you late fees if you don't give them the check that day. Keep track of everything because they will take your money without asking or telling you what it is used for. read more
