This is one of those rare places like one you stumble into in a dream. It's surrounded by beautiful green cascade hills and river with a history of the red and white office covered bridge that envelopes you throughout your the stay in the quaint, comfortable and charming hotel. Despite it having other guests, I felt like it was my own private home, free to explore and found warmth, beauty, character and color in every space. Friendly owners. We came here nearly every day during our 7 day stay. Sometimes for coffee and beers, sometimes for wifi, sometimes for both. They have a small selection of pastries and things for breakfast and a few sandwiches on the menu as well. They make a delicious iced mocha. read more

There is no doubt this is the best place to stay in Westfir or Oakridge unless you rent an Airbnb that costs over $400. We paid a little over $300 with tax to stay in the Waldo Room in mid October. The lodge is in the most beautiful part of this area--away from the blight you see in parts of Oakridge. It is a spot of great natural beauty, by a covered bridge and in a gorgeous little area right up against the road into the Lake Waldo wilderness. We were drawn back here because 3 years ago we went to Lake Waldo at this time and thought it was the most beautiful place we had ever been. This time, unfortunately, it was raining all day up there so we could not do the hike we had planned. Sadly the road by the lodge leading up into the pretty stuff was closed due to fires. We were happy to make the best of it anyway and had a magical night where we were the only ones staying at the lodge. It was easy to get in and once there, we realized all the other facilities were locked and we were the only ones on site, we had fun looking around a bit. We never saw a host or a worker or a guest but that was pretty cool and we had a lot of privacy, though it was cold outside in the common areas. The only things I wish had been a little different: Hosts were kind enough to let us in half an hour early because our hike was rained out. But they also told me it could not be any earlier because they had multiple checkouts that day and only one housekeeper. If we were the only ones staying there and I requested this in the morning. why could they not ask the housekeeper to clean our room first so we could get in earlier given we were the only paying guests that night? In the morning it was raining and we were slow getting up and I asked if we could check out a half hour or hour later than 11 and they said no because they had a full house coming that night. If we were the only guests the night before and they have 4 hours to clean our room, it surprises me they could not spare an extra half hour or hour for their only guests on the property the next morning. We left at 11 Am and no one was anywhere in sight on the property to get ready for the big group. They could have given us more time. Also, the food in Oakridge is horrible and most good things close at 3. there is no food in Westfir. I thought the little store might be open at the lodge though I knew the restaurant was not, but there was no one on the property at any time offering us anything of any kind to eat or drink. The Waldo room has a microwave and mini-fridge but I believe most of the other rooms have neither. If I had not called ahead to ask and brought food from Bend, we would have been screwed. I was surprised they close everything down at the end of September. Be prepared or be sad at dinner and breakfast time. In the end I felt we overpaid given the lack of any on site support or food and how cold it was in common areas. Maybe the rates should go down off season if it is so bare bones for guests? I called ahead to make sure the wireless worked for a last minute work meeting I was forced to have and was told many people had worked remotely at the lodge. When my husband and I both tried to join the zoom meeting however it kept dropping the signal on both of us and we had to keep rejoining and finally I had to go out into the cold common room so we could both stay on the call. Not a dealbreaker since no one should expect wireless to work well way out here, but given the lack of a TV in the room or much heat in the common areas, if you come at a non summer time make sure to download something to watch or be prepared to tell stories in your room after dark to entertain yourself. This place is best for a group of bikers or a wedding party that can rent out the whole place and entertain each other at night. read more

Our son & his wife bought a home in the area so we came to visit. They highly recommended the Westfir Lodge so we made reservations for 3 nights. As soon as you come around the corner you know you've found this gem as its so inviting & beautifully maintained. The location is excellent whether you're an avid mountain biker, hiker, river rafter or just a senior couple like us that enjoy the beautiful walks to the river & scenic areas. Just 10 minutes to Oakridge & you can find great spots for coffee, craft beers & burgers & a fun dive bar with delicious pizza. There are also some great places for Mexican food & wine tasting we'll have to come back to check out. But back to the Westfir Lodge! They are so well run & organized! They sent us a text a few days before check in explaining everything from easy self check in to the wonderful complementary breakfast they serve from 8:00-9:00 every morning. It was really a quality buffet of my favorites- everything bagel with cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit & yogurt. Coffee, Tea & orange juice as well. They also have a beautiful patio outside you can sit at & have a micro beer & a snack. The owners Noah & Tracy were so attentive- we had a little issue with our rooms doorknob & they graciously replaced it immediately. We'll definitely be back soon to visit! read more

We did mountain, biking and river rafting at Westfir Lodge and Noah really took care of us. He customized our activities based on our experience level and we had an awesome time. He also has 9 rooms with 9 restrooms you can rent to. It's a very cool lodge. read more

My husband & I spent two nights at Westfir Lodge with our 4 yr old granddaughter in tow. It's a very nice place inside & out. Very clean and well maintained. We stayed in the Fir room upstairs. Nice large room with 2 comfy queen beds & a bathroom w/shower. Coffee bar was set up early (I think by 7am) and our stay included breakfast which was different each day and delicious. The new owners, Tracy & Noah also have the Mountain Market going on the weekends mainly that serves up sandwiches, salads, cheese & meat boards with a variety of wine, beer and other beverages. We tried it all & everything was very tasty! You can hang out in a beautiful patio area and look right at the historic red covered bridge built in 1945. The covered bridge can be driven over & also has a pedestrian path. On the other side is a day use area mostly used by mountain bikers with a fun little playground & mountain bike track great for kids and trailhead for hiking. We would absolutely stay again! This place is a gem! Noah and Tracey go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. The check-in process was seamless, there is a secure garage for bikes and a very nice little snack/drink area with outdoor seating that was cute and comfortable. The beer on tap was better than the local brewery and Noah is a wealth of knowledge from hiking to biking to rafting! He also can arrange bike shuttles for you and their current shuttle driver, Petra was awesome. She got us everywhere and Noah helped us decide which trails to ride based on our wants for the day. Our room was large and had a mini fridge, AC unit and fan with a nice shower after a long day of outdoor activities. Breakfast is at 8 or 9am, whichever you prefer and verified by Tracey the night before. Coffee in the lobby in the morning was great. We would stay at Westfir lodge a thousand times over!! Fun place. Great patio. Lovely looking lodge. Great service. Fun. Decided to explore the Willamette Forest with a day of hiking and looking at wildflowers in bloom. What a treat discovering this way side rest. Beautiful building, great beverage selection, nothing on tap but good bottle selection as far as the beer goes. They have a wood fired pizza oven. We split one of they're specials. Full size. Great toppings. Great sauce (most important) and good crust. We will return and spend the night one of these weekends. Very friendly staff. What a charming place this Bed and Breakfast is! My husband and I loved everything about our stay from the Lodge's and our room's decor and how comfortable the bed was to sleep in to the delicious breakfast and how we had access to hiking trails and access to the river by foot. Went for a guided rafting float through the scenic lower middle fork of the Willamette river. There were a few class 2 rapids. Our guide, Noah, and his wife, Tracey, are the owners and were the best. They only take small groups who come together i.e. you don't go with strangers. Noah was very skillful, knowledgable and had a great personality. This company has several different events besides rafting and floating such as hikes, snowshoeing and mountain biking. They also have a B&B and serve beer and polish dumplings on the week-end. What a great little outfit. We all had more fun than we expected. read more

Noah and Tracey are wonderful hosts, going the extra mile and providing prompt and well researched responses to questions about the area. Morning breakfast included delicious croissants with locally made jam, fresh fruit and greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice and coffee. All delicious and presented well. We biked the Alpine trail and it was challenging due to our ages and infirmities (lol) but the satisfaction we felt afterwards was well worth the effort. We slept in the well appointed and very comfortable king room. it has an entrance to its own outside area where you could sip coffee in the morning. You could also pull your car into your own private driveway. Loved our stay here and you will too. Quaint inn with young hardworking hosts who aim to please. The icing on the cake was when they found my missing necklace and mailed it to me at no extra charge. Thank you for your kindness... it is exactly what our world needs from one another. read more

I was traveling across the West Coast on my bicycle and arrived at dark in Oakridge. When I called the lodge for directions from downtown, Chad offered to pick me up, which was a life-saver! This hospitality continued throughout my stay, with a wonderful homemade breakfast, allowing me to use the washing machine, spending time with me to hear about the cause I was riding for and telling me about things to do in the area. The lodge itself is amazing, with open rooms to lounge in, cozy unique bedrooms, and beautiful garden and deck areas to sit and enjoy nature. Though I was there in the warmth of August, I can imagine curling up on a cozy couch with a good book in the winter and taking hikes in the snow as fun as well. read more

New owners doing a nice job on food and making you feel welcome. Short but fresh menu items using herbs and garnish grown on site. Rooms were clean and fresh. Trains can be noisy but seemed to stop at night - or at least I slept through them even with windows left open all night. Great location for outdoor activities any season. Can't wait to return for snow shoeing this winter. read more
