Took my kitty here when I was looking for a new vet and heard good things about west gate. I love how their prices are on their page and they are very upfront about it. I didn't have to wait at all once I got there and the exam was super quick. Would recommend!

We were referred to Westgate Animal Clinic by a friend and we are extremely happy with our pups experience here! Not only are there rates competitive and fair, but their service is amazing. From the front desk, vet techs, and veterinarians, everyone is so welcoming and informative. We've taken our puppy here for a wellness check up, blood work, and recently for her spay. Our minds were at ease because all of our questions were answered. The day of her spay, we were called about her status post surgery and when we could pick her up. We will definitely continue to being our girl to Westgate! The location is accessible right off the 80, exiting on 84th. Parking is private parking, they share a lot with another local business. Clinic is clean and tidy. Restrooms available for pet owners inside.

I love Dr Fred. He's been the best vet ever. I honestly feel comfortable when I'm there and my cat loves him too!! The only reason I wouldn't give this is a full five is because one of the last times I went I had an interesting interaction with the receptionist. An older woman, she just rubbed me the wrong way. Besides that, this place feels like home. My cat will be continuing to come here for the vet. Also, the prices are very reasonable for the good quality of service. Here is my cat on their examination table.

My 3 year old, previously healthy, cat had a seizure before I left for work this morning. I had never seen a vet in Omaha, because my mother is a vet in the Des Moines area. In a panic, I called the wonderful professionals at Westgate and they, sensing my distress, found a place for me in their busy schedule and told me to come in right away. I did not even sit down before they ushered me into an exam room. They are truly wonderful people. My visit was quick, informative, and they treated my cat and I extremely well. The prices were also very reasonable for the checkup and blood work. I will most definitely be back to this wonderful place that provided me great peace of mind.

I have been taking my Danes here sporadically over the years. My first Dane came back with kennel cough not once, but twice. I decided to not take her back. After that I acquired 2 different Danes and decided to give them another try and boarded my dogs there frequently due to work travel. Luckily no kennel cough, however the cost was outrageous to board 2 Giant Breeds for multiple days on end. I have since switched to having someone come to the house, so I have both a dog and house sitter. All that to say, my most recent experience with them was terrible. I decided to take them for a simple partial daycare day. My two Danes and I arrived right as they were to open at 8am. Multiple employees showed, however none of them were the receptionist so the people waiting couldn't be let in until that individual got there. About 15 minutes later she finally shows, but during this time my girls are getting overly excited and fired up due to the long wait and one of mine decided to nip at her sister in the back of the car. The key here is that when I scolded her and wiped off my Dane that she snipped at--there WAS NO BLOOD AND CERTAINLY NO PUNCTURE WOUNDS. I picked them up at approx. 2pm that day and by the time we got settled in at home, the facility was closed so I couldn't call them to let them know that my dog had completely dried and crusted blood all along her right side of her face, including two very large puncture wounds. I was NEVER notified of these very visible wounds (even if it had happened that morning), and since Paw Spa doesn't have cameras in their kennels, there's no way to know what actually happened. After sending pictures to my vet, I ended up having to rush her in as the wounds were severely infected and required antibiotics and a $215 vet bill. The staff I spoke to the days following, tried their best to help and were very kind but the owner had been out of town and fell ill, so I had to wait nearly a week for a call back from her to "remedy the situation". When she called me, she was completely accusatory, defensive, and blamed me and my dog that had snipped in the car that morning but again, no puncture wounds or blood after this incident! She forcefully told me she most certainly would NOT be paying the vet bill and that the only incident was with my dog in the parking lot. When I called out the fact that nobody noticed, she turned the blame on me that I hadn't either; which I did, but it was after hours for them. She then continued on that "her staff is new, they've raised minimum wage and she's a small business, and taxes are out of control", etc. NOT MY PROBLEM OR RELEVANT. She determined she would not be allowing them to board in the same kennel which I agreed to, however I would be charged double; make that make sense when it's no different than two dogs going for one day-hmmm? Her "solution" was to begrudgingly offer me two free daycares (which is actually one day since they apparently have to be charged twice for being in separate kennels). I was so infuriated and flabbergasted at the situation that I said fine. Why in the world would I ever take my dogs back there after this? Clearly my dogs were not getting the attention or affection they deserve while there, or someone would have felt and saw that my dog had extremely visible wounds and blood on her face. Lack of responsibility and blame game from the owner, inexperienced and newer staff, overpriced services, why go back? DO NOT RECOMMEND. There are so many other fantastic, affordable solutions out there where my dogs get the love and attention they deserve.

In less than two days, she came home a complete wreck. She reeked of poop and urine, had visible scratches on her nose, chipped nails, and had fully lost her bark. That does not happen from normal "play." When I raised serious concerns, I was brushed off and told she was "playing hard" and that we were "lucky" they did not charge us for the "sanitation bath" they told me they gave her. Sheila, the owner, even dismissed my concern about my dog losing her bark by saying, "dogs bark, they bark all the time," followed by, "I can take you back there so you can hear." This was said instead of showing any concern for my dog's condition. Every attempt to get real answers was met with a condescending "we have it on camera," yet no explanation, accountability, or effort to resolve the issue was provided. The conversation ended with Sheila abruptly hanging up on me the moment I said we would not be returning. No apology. No concern for my dog. Just hung up. This is appalling customer service and extremely concerning animal care. If a dog can come back in this condition after such a short stay, that should alarm any pet owner. Do not trust this place with your pet.

The last time I was there, the gal working upfront at the register, seemed really mad for some reason. She scoffed or huffed and rolled her eyes when I would ask for something or ask a question. It just really seemed like she didn't want to be there. This most recent time, I was only given the shampoo and not the conditioner for the self wash that I ordered. Once I started the wash, I realized that one was missing, but couldn't very well leave my wet dog to go ask. I also thought they might've stopped offering conditioner and maybe they just only had shampoo...When I mentioned it at the front desk, there was no apology or offer of a small discount. Instead, the person at the front said "well, if you would have told us, we probably would've given it to you." Not a huge deal, but it just bugged me the way she spoke to me.

Both times I expressed my dissatisfaction after the groom and asked for assistance in fixing the problem. The time at Papillion they offered to groom him at a later date at no cost. I was not able to make it in due to a family move. Next, I took him to the Bennington location and, again, he came out looking like a first day groomer had groomed him. I took him back in today, a week later. The groomer was obviously not happy about having to fix him and said, she didn't have time to bathe him, (that I should have told them I wanted that!) what's more, she didn't really know what more she could do for him. When I asked if she really thought this looked like a dog who had just been groomed a week ago, she defiantly said yes. I was incredulous and tried explaining he was all choppy, he didn't even look like he'd been bathed the last time, nor had his ears been brushed out. The manager tried to be an intermediary, but ultimately took the groomer's side. At which point, I just shook my head and said I'm done and left. I have 4 standard poodles and a multipoo. I think a more courteous congenial attitude toward fixing the problem was in order before losing over $500 every 6 weeks to groom my crew! I was calm, explained what was wrong, and did not get angry. But I was frustrated and stupefied why they couldn't just shape him up and make him look fresh and well groomed. Below are photos from the Papillion location and the Bennington plus a photo of Bijou after a proper grooming. I love supporting small, local businesses. But I can't return here in good faith.
