Stayed at Westgate Branson Woods Resort and it's honestly a mixed bag. The amenities here are amazing, especially for families. The "Fun House" is a huge win with a rock climbing wall, arcade, and craft area for kids. There's also a full schedule of daily activities, which keeps everyone busy. Between the indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, half basketball court, sand volleyball, putt putt, playgrounds, and walking/hiking paths... there is a lot to do. No complaints at all on that side. They also have a restaurant on site along with a marketplace for basics, snacks, and ice cream, which is super convenient. Where it falls short is the rooms. They are very outdated and definitely need some maintenance. Cleanliness was also an issue for me--I ended up cleaning the bathroom myself before using it, which is not something you want to deal with on vacation. For amenities, 5 stars. It's a nice resort - a country setting on the lower mountainsides. Units are very nice and well appointed. Check in & out are easy though you must visit the concierge to get the full packet of arrival paperwork, maps, etc. They really push the timeshare presentation even after very clear declination. As owners, we've succumbed to too many of the same tired sales pitches. Even when presented as 'just a 1 hour update', they devolve into sakes. Absolutely unacceptable experience. Imagine driving 12 hours to get to your destination, arriving a few minutes early, and finding out the room you paid for isn't even ready. I booked my reservation through AAA, paid in advance, and my confirmation stated check-in at 4:00 PM. I went back to the front desk at 3:51 PM, expecting to wait a few minutes at most. Instead, the employee had to go ask whether my room was ready and came back to tell me it still wasn't. When I asked if I would be getting my room at 4:00 PM, I was told, "Check-in starts at 4 PM." Apparently, that means they can start thinking about getting your room ready at 4 PM--not that you'll actually have access to it. There was no apology beyond a scripted "I'm sorry." No effort to accommodate us after a 12-hour drive. No estimated time. No sense of urgency. If you're advertising a 4 PM check-in time, then guests should be able to check in at 4 PM. "Check-in starts at 4 PM" is not an excuse for failing to have paid reservations ready when promised. After spending an entire day traveling, the last thing anyone wants is to sit in a lobby wondering when they'll finally be allowed into the room they already paid for. My family was here for 7 days and I'd like to start with the good, the resort isn't horrible but lacking in some major areas for me. The good: staff was friendly and responsive. The grounds are kept beautifully. The pools stay open late. The fun house is a great feature if you have kids. The shuttle came promptly. The bad: cleanliness is big for me and there were some issues. The floor was absolutely filthy. 5 minutes of being in the room, my son who crawls has black dirty knees and our feet were all dirty. There were pieces of cereal on the floor when we arrived. This is a huge issue for me as it demonstrates they cut corners in hygienic practice. The rooms need serious updating; from the seats to the appliances that barely worked. They've installed the cheapest microwaves they could find as anything we tried do warm became rubbery and impossible to consume. The sign at the entrance says luxury, there is nothing luxury about dirty floors and cheap appliances. Dining... we know this isn't an all inclusive that's going to have all these food options, but the website says a restaurant and the restaurant is closed and for lease. This west gate property is generally subpar. read more

I wished I'd looked at YELP before I booked this! Instead I looked at Google reviews. :( This is marketing fraud. Pictures at booking are NOT even close to what you get. This is like a Motel 6. The good - friendly staff, screened in porch The bad - very disappointed in the outdated difficult to access 'one bedroom villa deluxe'. The pictures at booking include a fireplace, Wood ceilings rustic and cozy. What I actually got was a very outdated 1 bedroom apartment wrapped in logs, unclean, toilet wobbles from side to side, worn out furniture, brass accents, remote to TV in living room did NOT work, tiny plastic insert shower, places in the floor were peeling, mix and match furniture, dirty walls, deferred maintenance, no fireplace...the list goes... There are adjoining rooms with the doors closed for the one bedroom version and I can hear every word joining apartment says...these are hallow interior doors You have to walk thru the bathroom to get to the bedroom making the bedroom not accessible while someone is in the bathroom. If I'd had small kids with me this would be a very difficult cabin to access, steep incline and lots of steps. The con - when you book you are led to believe you're staying in the tall tower with wonderful accommodations. You aren't. You are staying in cabins surrounding the tower. And the pictures at booking are way nicer than what you get in person. As far as I'm concerned this is a scam. Pictures should be self explanatory on what was advertised vs what I got. Unfortunately Labor Day weekend with tickets to shows...can't make a change. I did call the front desk. I was told they aren't responsible for the photos booking uses...which is weird bc I booked from what seemed to be their own website. I also reached out on welcome text from resort and got no response. In order to get your parking pass from the concierge desk you are invited to a scheduled complimentary breakfast where they want to present time share sales pitch. Run don't do it. Don't stay here. Very disappointed I fell for this. Don't travel very often and this was a skanky place to stay for a much needed getaway with my hubby. I'm staying Here now. I Booked it as a regular hotel room and it is lovely actually. I booked a suite that appears to be recently remodeled. The room felt new and modern and no issues. It wasn't cheap, but they took dogs and we are traveling with ours. But They invited us to their timeshare presentation at check in. I agreed and we met in the "sales hall" the next morning. Once at the sales hall, you are in line with perhaps 30 other people and they start asking super personal questions. Where do you work? How long? Occupation? What is your pay day? How much do you get paid per pay day? I didn't feel comfortable telling them this information at all, much less in front of 30 strangers... there is no privacy at all. They quickly got an attitude and were sooo rude when I pushed back. I still can't believe what happened. Stay away from their timeshare presentation. Or, just lie to them and take whatever they are offering. The whole thing was really creepy. Beware to be asked incredibly private questions in public. read more

First things first: the second you check in they try to trick you into a signing up for a breakfast so they can try to sell you a timeshare, I didn't realize I booked a timeshare resort when booking ‍ When we arrived to the room the walls were not clean and had visible stains from previous guests. The floors were not clean and needed to be mopped and swept. The bed covers have a few stains on them and what looks like a booger and some crumbs on the mattress. The staff was friendly and helpful with bribing us a new remote when ours stopped working. They do not clean the rooms during your stay so if you need anything restocked you must call the front desk which is fine for me as I prefer the privacy. This one was hard for me, thinking it was a one off that it took over an hour to check in. It was right after a world wide hack that downed tons of companies. They didn't say why but that's what I'm thinking. It was also a Friday, so who knows. You do have to stand in two lines one to check in and another for a parking permit where they usually try to get you into a time share and or tickets. Mercifully they realized most of us just wanted to get to our rooms. Once in the room it was decent. Feeling a bit hungry, found out just a pizza place on the premises only. Didn't get to swim as it was raining but they looked great. Not far from several good restaurants, and it's a gated situation, that can end up being a wait but no more than 5 min usually. This place was the most disgusting and filthy place I have ever stayed. We went to speak with the manager several times during our stay and they said they had nothing else available until the last night we were there. The water heater broke twice resulting in maintenance men in our cabin fixing it. There was hair in the carpet and the carpet was pulling up. There were food splatters on the dishwasher and refrigerator. There was dirt and mold in every corner of the floor and bath tub. The walls were chipped and filthy. The maintenance man said they hadn't rented that cabin for two years he was surprised we were there. Don't ever stay here they won't help you if you get this kind of cabin or condo!!! My wife and I decided to take a short vacation over July 4th weekend and she found this site online. First off, when checking in, do not assume you will be staying in the 6 story building as that is for "Owners". So leave your stuff in the car until you find out your accommodations, the guards should tell you this as you pull into the facility, they don't. Second, I hope you do not agree to go to the TimeShare presentation, this was our mistake. More on that later. Now here were the issues. Once in our room, (we were here for 5 days) there was 1 half roll of toilet paper, no tissues, 1 package of coffee. We called the desk and asked for more of the items and were told only one item at a time because people steal it. With persistence we got more toilet paper and coffee. Also, the a/c struggles to keep the room cool. The main swimming pool water was cloudy. I know water chemistry and it needed a good shock, alkalinity/ pH adjustment with a clarifier treatment and possibly diatomaceous earth assistance in the filtration system to clear this up. It was worse on the second day. We went to the other pool hoping it was better and it was. The onsite store has horrendous prices and very limited selections. We were told there was a delivery service for pizza, there is not. Shuttle Service on this 144 hilly acres is very hit and miss. We were told it was available while booking. Now to the TimeShare. We told our Sales Rep Orion that we truly were not serious about purchasing a plan as we had other ideas because I am soon to retire. All was good, initially, as we agreed a yes means yes and a no means no upon completion of the 90-120 minute presentation. With 10 minutes left in our presentation, things got very contentious with myself and Orion concerning the fact we refused to buy and I insisted we were done with his presentation. He was acting as a petulant child insisting we were going to be there for the "full 2 hours". I insisted a manager come to our table and someone came to our table. He proceeded to play the Good Guy but it was still a full ten minutes until a closing Manager showed up. As this Manager was leaving I insisted that Orion leave our table also as I was tired of his mocking and unprofessional actions. Orion was instructed to leave. The closing Manager Bob, finally showed up and was responsive as he could tell that I was highly agitated. All in all, I will never be back and never go to another Westgate Resorts property! read more

We are currently staying here. This room and experience is not worth what I paid. We came down for Police Week. We didn't get reservations book in advance. We decided this had to be a great location right? It is $$ at almost $900 for 3 nights. WE WERE WRONG! We also offered a free breakfast on Saturday but had to listen to a guided tour. We explained we needed to check out itinerary and would let her know if we were interested. Well we aren't. Got a call that night to see if we wanted to attend. Now this room is an old typical hotel room. We are on the back side and have to walk around the building to get access. Now, the room is dirty with dust and what looks like snot on the bathroom walls. Coffee pot but not complimentary coffee. The biggest complaint now.....we can't get any privacy and the people around us are rude and LOUD! Apparently we have been stuck in between families with kids and they are very disrespectful. Standing out on the balcony's running up and down the walkway. The doors don't shut good and so they are slamming them. I am beyond irritated and upset. The Westgate in Branson should be ashamed of being so racist and not having a Spanish speaking person on staff. They treated my husband harshly and we're very rude and nasty due to his English, which he understands everything you are saying and he speaks it perfectly but with an accent. I would encourage the Latino population to NEVER purchase from people who treat you as if your money has no value due to race. The employees humiliated us in front of other people not to mention I am a person who was born and raised in New York City. I see the low review, I'm going to standup for WestGate. We are fans of this location from many points. It's one of the most secluded and well kept places in Branson. We are owners so we have a lot more experience here but have witnessed the good and bad. We believe the good way our weights the bad. We always experience great service, we have a excellent comfortable place to hang with our friends and family. Great options for things to do inside the facility or nearby. WestGate does a great job maintaining the grounds and amenities. Some of the rooms could use a little better carpenter skills. Seems the painters need a bit more care while doing the touch up work. We always have a comfortable bed, sofa and eating areas, kitchen is equipped with most everything you need. You just make a call to the front desk for any supplies you need and it's delivered to you. We came here for our little honeymoon and it was so fun to get out of Kansas, see an all around fun spot, in the Midwest, and relax. They even upgraded our room. (Note : If you like getting your rooms cleaned each day, stay in the hotel, not timeshare lodges/cabins. My only complaint.) Other than that, there's a TON of variety, in lodging options, activities, grocery store, with coffee & ice cream and the staff is pretty friendly. Despite how many kiddos, young people and families there are, it stays pretty quiet at nite. I think the trees help. And, they're building a big water park too. What a fabulous entrance, although not ideal for front wheel driving vehicles. Also, even if noted that you are bringing a dog, they might forget and charge you $70 more than what was originally listed. If your room key opens a door to a room in one of the "inns", lower your expectations. It's like a motel 6. Floors sink in some places, it's dated, the floor aren't clean (so wear slippers or socks while walking around), and you can hear your neighbors like being in an actual motel 6.. there is no room service or house keeping during your stay unless you have an emergency, like a toddler accidentally peeing through his night time pull-up. Replacement sheets will be brought to your room in a bag, and you are making your own bed from here. Which is fine. I know how to make a bed. Overall, it really wasn't that bad; it just wasn't what I expected for the price. But it was a place to let my kids get some rest for the few days we were in town. read more

I want to start by saying that I did read the reviews before staying here and based on all the negative reviews I wasn't expecting much. With that being said, this place was much better than we anticipated based on reading the reviews. We did stay in a 1-bedroom grand villa through a timeshare of a family member. It was plenty of space for the 4 of us with a pull-out couch. While this isn't a 5-star luxury place, I would give it a solid 3.5 stars. It was very clean. Minus the dirty floors beside the inside of the dryer closet (that we weren't even in contact with) and the showers needing a re-grouting, we had no problems with the cleanliness as mentioned in reviews. The floors, linens, bathroom, kitchen all appeared to be cleaned per COVID guidelines. The washer/dryer was a nice combo, however, it was very loud when in use so we started them when were left our villa. The view from the 3000 building is beautiful in the Fall - you don't have a city view or facing other buildings, it's a view of the trees and the Waterfall Trail. While I liked the bed and felt it was comfortable, my husband thought it was awful - so you can't really give a review on that based on each individual's preference. There was a corner tub in our room, with the standard 90s mirrors surrounding it. We didn't use it but the kids enjoyed using it as a hot tub. The bathroom is HUGE, with a separate room for the toilet and a large walk-in shower and double vanity sink. There were two doors in the bathroom, one that led to the master bedroom and one that led to the dining/living room so that it was accessible by everyone. Trash pickup was available every morning by leaving your bagged trash outside your door. However, I will say that by doing this, animals did get into our trash every time. Even being on the 2nd floor. Although the front desk operators weren't the friendliest, they did send someone to bring us everything we requested when we needed it (toilet paper, towels). The only requirement for checkout was to collect all the linens and trash. There is an express checkout where you can just drop you cards in a box as you are leaving the resort. The pools are small, especially the indoor pool. But we did take advantage of using it during our stay on a rainy day. The outdoor pool remains open until Nov. 1st but the weather didn't allow us to use them. The general store is pleasant and offers all your needs. Someone commented that the Starbucks coffee they served was just "a pot of coffee" - this is not true. There is a Starbucks coffee bar, serving Starbucks drinks like frappucinos, caramel macchiatos, and popular drinks. It's an actual Starbucks, just small, limited, and you can't use your rewards app there. Tips & helpful info: 1) Take your own hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and coffee filters. 2) Netflix and other streaming apps are NOT available, there are no smart TVs to access these. 3) Wifi is available but often spotty. 4) They provide toilet paper, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent. 5) Leave trash out early in the morning rather than the night before to avoid animals destroying it. 6) The walls are thin, you will hear all your neighbors. If you are sensitive to noise, bring some earplugs or use a white noise app. 7) USB outlets are not available, so don't forget to bring one. 8) The gym is a nice size, so if you want to use it it is worth bringing the workout clothes. 9) Don't do the timeshare. I repeat, don't do the timeshare. It was super easy to say no and there was no pressure. However, if this is your thing you can get free gift cards out of it (a couple must make at least $57K and they welcomed children to attend with you) 10) They have drive-up check-in due to COVID. You simply drive up, check-in, and then they pitch you the timeshare meeting, then you can drive to your room/villa. 11) It's a pretty steep drive in and out of the resort. Make sure your brakes are good. However, you shouldn't be visiting Branson in general if they aren't. :) read more

It was mostly ok, the resort had fun things to do but it was hard to find the trail because the online map hasn't been update. The worst part was that the inn we stayed at there we were the only ones in the entire building and the cleaning staff walked into our room BEFORE checkout time. Not only did this happen once it happened TWICE. They didn't knock or anything they just gladly shoved their way in through the deadbolt. Save your money and run. They won't refund you for inconveniences like this and this is something that shouldn't happen in a hotel let alone a resort. The pillows and mattress were severely worn in so it was very uncomfortable and they said they didn't have any other pillows that were firm. Save your money and go to a hotel. read more

A little outdated, but overall pretty clean. The jetted tubs need to be re-enameled and updates would go a long way! Some repairs needed on their mini golf course. Had to cut our trip a little short due to some unforeseen circumstances so we didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities. We saw they had a lot of mini activities (some that are free) which seem great for kiddos. We went to the Extravaganza event which ended up being about 15 different mini Ads for various shows. We met Johnny Lonestar and he did a great job taking care of the guests and made sure everyone had a good time. He invited us to the Hamner Variety show which was fabulous. Once again, I should have read the Yelp reviews on a place before booking. We found this place on air bnb and it was a great price for a one bedroom with a king bed that included a separate living space (with a sofar bed), kitchenette, and bathroom with a washer and dryer. Considering the price and all it included, that was awesome! The only downside to our place was the floors were dirty. They were probably swept, but we noticed all of our bare feet were black and dirty. After cleaning all of our feet, I decided to take a wipe to clean the floor and my wipe ended up black! Not sure when the floor was last moped, but it definitely was not for us. I contacted the air bnb contact and showed her a picture. She apologized and said she would look into it. I gave her a day and asked her what came about her "looking into it" and literally nothing came about. Nothing was offered. So that was a disappointment. We didn't know that where we were staying was a timeshare and luckily we did not get sucked into any presentation. We avoided the front desk as much as possible. We also had to unplug our phone because we kept getting calls, and some late at night. We didn't answer and I'm assuming they were sale calls. We were excited to be able to use the pools, but was so disappointed in the outdoor pool. We went around 1030 in the morning and it was disgusting. So many bugs and there was a murky/filmy residue in the water. I understand there are a lot of bugs in this part of the country, but it was beyond that. We live in an area nearby that has a lot of bugs too and our neighborhood pool barely has bugs. I'm curious how often it is cleaned. We arrived at Westgate Branson and had to get changed rooms 4 times. First room 1206B was missing an iron, coffee, ironing board, and the dishwasher was leaning and not working. Room 1406B was filled with smoke and we informed them we were non smokers. Room 1502B was filthy and had a chair in the bedroom that needed to be in the trash. Maintenance informed us that these 3 rooms were on their list not to be rented The staff was rude and thought it was funny. read more

Idea of this resort is good - varied types and sizes of rooms, on-site activities like mini golf, pool, volleyball and basketball- but they need help executing on making this great idea successful. Not sure if the issue is understaffing, but the cleanliness is the main issue driving a poor review. The cleanest, nicest part of the resort is the lobby of the main office. The rooms themselves all had floors so dirty that the bottoms of your feet were black - can't imagine what you would do if you have a crawling baby! Water in the pool was murky, and they always seemed to be out of pool towels. We had to take some out of the fitness center at one point. The fitness center was somewhat hidden - they basically took 2 rooms in one of the buildings and knocked out a wall and out machines in there and called it a fitness center. No room to stretch or really do any floor work - and no mats. Water cooler and treadmill out of order. There is no access to any hiking trails - you would have to leave the resort to go elsewhere. No daily basic housekeeping- you have to call to have garbage and towels taken care of. They ask you to out it outside the room and then the wildlife gets into it - they have a skunk issue at night, making it a bit precarious walking anywhere after dusk. Overall - dirty, and not nice enough to warrant choosing this over another place. read more

We planned for a Friday & Saturday night stay and rented the room online on their website which shows lovely photos of the 6-story building and what appear to be hotel rooms with king beds. FALSE ADVERTISING! We booked the king room, but when we arrived discovered that the lovely 6-story building is condos and we would be in a VERY dated MOTEL room on the property complete with flies and mosquitoes in the bathroom. To top it off it was a handicapped room, so since we are not handicapped we couldn't even park in front of our MOTEL room door. LOL When I called to ask for a regular room I was told that was my only option if I wanted a king bed. Needless to say, we stayed Friday night, saw the show we came to see on Saturday afternoon then headed out of town that evening. BUYER BEWARE. read more

Do not book here. We went on a free-time share promotion and it was not worth it. First, if you want me to buy a timeshare put me in a nice room. This room made the Motel 6 look like a 5-star hotel. It was dirty, dirty, dirty. The rooms were super small and the bathroom was discussing and tiny. (I'm 5'2" and 125pds and I barely fit in the bathroom and turning around was almost impossible. I had to clean the floors as I couldn't walk around without shoes or it turned my feet black. Their brochure was outdated and they recommended a restaurant (Drafts Grill) that was horrible, I was just praying I didn't get food poisoning off of the few bites I took. We joined the timeshare presentation the next morning and were told it would take 90 minutes and that we would need to listen. The 27-year-old kid who did the presentation was rude, and mean and kept threatening us that if we didn't get involved with his presentation he was going to charge us for our room or kick us out of the resort. He would ask us the same questions over and over even after we answered as if we were in school giving the wrong answer. He was dressed very poorly but bragged that he made 6 figures. I had to ask him on multiple occasions to stop being mean to me. He really upset my husband the way he was speaking to me. He at several points was puffing on a vape in front of us. They put our grandson into some activity room, which he hated, and he asked them multiple times to come back but they wouldn't let him. What was to take 90 minutes took 3 hours. What a joke. The indoor pool was not nice, they were out of towels and had bags of dirty towels on the floor. We had to go back to the room for towels as it was cold outside. We then had to ask for more towels, shampoo, pillows, and coffee for our room. They dropped them at the door in trash bags. Take all your own stuff as they don't offer very few amenities in the room. They had concierge service, so we checked that out since we had never been to Branson. They opened at 9:00 and we were on a time crunch, so we were there on time. They were not ready at 9 and when we finally left at 9:20 their computer still wasn't up to book us discount tickets. The pictures on the website show huge rooms and balconies, haha, tiny dirty rooms, no balcony. We love sitting outside and that wasn't happening here. I give it one star because the grounds are nice and the room was clean ....but the bed and dresser filled almost the entire room. There was no closet or even a hook to hang any clothes. The bathroom door won't shut due to the fact that is hung wrong and the only towel bar was approx 10 feet from the shower. The staff in general were nice except the clerks behind the check-in desk. One clerk named Samantha asked me for my id and I told her I had given it to the first lady when we originally checked in and her reply was "I don't know who you are". Not my idea of customer service. Best to skip this place. read more

Horrible experience. Booked online arrived at 3:30 To get into the very long check in line for a 4pm check in. We booked 2 regular rooms. They didn't have rooms cleaned for everyone checking in and couldn't even tell us when they'd be ready. First room was ready at 7 after husband pitched a fit at the front desk and our 2nd one wasn't ready until 9pm. Would never recommend staying here EVER. Pissed we had to pay full price for both nights after a check in disaster. Not a good impression for anyone looking to buy a timeshare. Rooms could use an update and the ceiling in our bathroom appeared to have mold. The only positive as that The pools were nice. read more
