    Fun stuff

One of our favorite bowling lanes in south austin. Friendly staff, always an open lane and the black light nights are a ton of fun. They have been here on WestGate for many years now. We have been going there for almost two decades. They have a coffee food trailer out front, a snow cone trailer there as well along with Slab BBQ Inside. If you have a free minute from work and want to have a good time look no other than Westgate lanes in south austin.

We had a pretty fun time for a good price! 2 games and show rentals was less than $15 a person. The staff was a little unfriendly, but we didn't have to talk to them too much so it was okay. Tons of parking. I would recommend not using the QR codes on the seats for Slab bbq, just walk up to the window to order food/ drink. They don't use the QR system anymore in our experience. Will probably come back for fun, get out of the heat, and not spend way too much.

This was a straightforward bowling alley. The bar was fully stoked and the bartender Cindy was nice. We played darts until the rest of our party came. There was no wait on a Friday night until about 9. You can either pay by game or by hour. The bar also recommended ordering pizza form across the street because they will deliver it to your lane. Overall we had a great experience and had fun!

Bowling alleys are always great for people watching and bringing out of town family from the Midwest. With that being said, my family was in town and we decided to go bowling for the evening. You can either pay by the hour or pay per person. We opted per person since we had 5 bowlers and two were teens. Overall the bowling ally was your typical scene of being time warped back to the 80s-90s. The bowling ally had food and beverages but we didn't partake in either. It was about $56 bucks for two games and 5 pairs of shoe rentals. A little pricy but we had fun

Worst lane ever. Ran by immature people. Kicked us out early because they wanted to go home. Half the lanes were in operation.

    What night is League Night?

I'm a first time mom an I'm looking a great place to my have baby shower.. Is this a great place to have a baby shower?

Yes!! I had a baby shower there for a family member and everyone had a great time. I rented a private room and we were able to do the traditional baby shower along with lots of fun bowling!! They have a great bar area and the food is amazing!!!

Technically, I'd give this a 4.5/5 for the elevated airport prices, but you're sort of a captive audience and I have to give credit to AUS for at least including local brands, even when they some are tweaked a little bit to be included. (I'm looking at you, 24 Diner's less-anchovy-y airport caesars.) There's not really anything to change about beer, thank goodness. This stand has Austin Beerworks' beer, which is some damn good beer. I wish ABW had a distribution deal in the northeast so I could continue drinking it at my new house. Service at the Beerdrop is usually friendly and just the right amount of attentive--friendly if you're bored, hands-off if you've got a laptop out. One bartender on a slow day even checked on my order at the other food hall counter for me, which was rad. There's a full bar with non-beer options, too, although I've only ever been there for the beer. It can get a little loud and crowded if the wider food hall's busy, but unless you're hitting at peak food o'clock, it's pretty laid-back in there.

I ordered a 14-ounce serving of Fire Eagle IPA (for $11.49)--which is very good. The bartender suggested to instead order the 20-ounce serving for $1.50 more ($0.65 per ounce rather than $0.82). However, I was trying to spare some room in my stomach for a subsequent crawl to Hippies & Hops (featuring local beers from Live Oak Brewing). I lucked out on the timing, to watch an NFL playoff game during my visit here. It was surprising that other patrons at the bar were mostly drinking beers other than the local beers that this bar showcases; or alcoholic beverages other than beer. I like the easygoing atmosphere here, where it is easy to socialize with the bartenders and patrons.

There's this huge building that looks like an unassuming co-working space, but it turns out that there is a whole fun world behind it! They have a great setup: there's a little playground, a paddle board court, corn hole, etc to keep kids entertained and they had a huge screen set up to watch the game. And tents! Thank you for having tents and misters! The ambience is spot-on. Overall, we were happy with everything that we ordered to eat. The buffalo cauliflower bites were a bit too saucy, but nice and smoky. The CM Chopped Salad--which was NOT chopped--had a ton of good veggies and a fun dressing. Our daughter managed to finagle two orders of chicken fingers and those were slightly better than the normal junk that comes out. Cold beers on tap, Aperol Spritzes on a hot day--what is there to complain about? We were glad to be leaving when we did because the place was starting to get slammed and rowdy and not as appealing, so be mindful of the partying witching hour. But for a late afternoon World Cup meet-up with friends, this was a good time. Four stars.

We sat on the patio and I will say our waitress was very nice, but the bar staff was quite cold and the food took about 50 minutes to come out which is a little wild for a sandwich and a wrap. I got the southwest salad as a wrap and I will say it was fresh and tasty, but they didn't dress the salad or send it out with the promised side of ranch so I also had to wait for that. Big game and only one of the 3 outside tvs was working. Again out waitress was sweet but that and the fresh (though dry) lettuce in my wrap were the only real positives. That's to be expected when we descended upon the restaurant with such a large group. For six people, we ordered three pizzas to share. We definitely could have shared with more people because we had some pizza left over. We got The Works, Shroomin' Goat, and Texas Chicken Ranch pizzas. The Texas Chicken Ranch was by far our favourite. It was really good, while the other two were alright. The crust was weirdly bubbly and amorphous looking. There was a lot of crust. The Works was okay. The sauce and meat weren't particularly tasty. The Shroomin' Goat was a vegetarian pizza with a lot of arugula, which is not my type of pizza, but our vegetarian friend said it was okay. Great vibes at Pinthouse overall though, and I have enjoyed their other pizzas in the past.
