Peaceful retreat for massage! We booked a day spa massage for our friend group. We had to stagger the times, but it was a nice mountain location. The view in the quiet room was beautiful even in the rain. I had a good massage. I would go back again. They had a lunch menu, but only a few options in the spa. They do give complimentary snacks and fruit and water! Nice staff and great service! Definitely need a reservation and make sure to follow up. read more

What a great experience it was to stay at the Westglow luxury resort and spa, in blowing rock, NC. The hotel is a wonderful facility, with an amazing restaurant, a great bar, including piano bar, fantastic spa, and health facility, and the most beautiful setting you could imagine (whatever you do make sure you catch the sunset out the back). We had a very disappointing experience at Westglow. The photos online do not really represent how worn down the facilities are beginning to look. Although there were only a very few other customers/clients there, the staff seemed very stressed out and was not welcoming. There seemed to be a lot of communication issues between staff and management, and we observed a woman who seemed to be the owner openly yelling a small group in formalwear taking photos and also at the GM. It was extremely unprofessional. I'm very surprised at the lack of warmth and customer service, especially since there are so many other fantastic resorts, spas and venues in the area, like Chetola, Eseeola, and the Inn at Crestwood as competition. I have been to all of the others that I have listed, and had a significantly better experience at each. read more

Peaceful and Beautiful Stay Our stay at Westglow Spa & Manor was relaxing and scenic. The spa has an incredible view, though it's starting to feel a bit dated -- the women's locker room could use updates, and the aromatherapy showers weren't producing any scent. My massage with Ted was excellent, but the food court fell short of "spa-quality." The Manor, however, was absolute perfection. Jennifer, our hostess, was the highlight of our stay -- warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She made us feel completely at home and went above and beyond to ensure every detail was just right. Our room was beautifully updated, with a stunning view and the most comfortable bed. Westglow is a peaceful, welcoming retreat with exceptional hospitality. So i called the spa early yesterday morning to check on my nieces appointment. Due to weather. I have debated sharing this but being local to boone this is all too disturbing. So i called the spa and a lady that claimed to be an owner answered the phone with the response we let our manager go and have no staff. But we are figuring it out and can still take appointments and everything is going to be fine. I was very taken a back by this, if you let a manager go why did all the staff go as well?? Is it that bad for the employees there? This to me is a huge red flag and we will be taken our business elsewhere where for the future! read more

Day of appointments find out one person can't get massage because employee called in sick, but they could get a facial instead. Drive 45 minutes to appointment to be told can't do the facial either because that time was earlier but they failed to tell us that when they offered it. one person could not get any treatment - they made the whole experience a disaster!! read more

Outstanding. I usually do not give out 5-stars unless totally earned. Westglow totally earned them. The inn and grounds are beautiful. Daingerfield restaurant is excellent (venison night one, duck breast night two.) The staff is kind, thoughtful and efficient. A technical issue with my room was attended to immediately and professionally. I love the piano bar, I loved breakfast while looking at the mountains from my table. I certainly loved my time at the spa. I'm already making plans for my next visit. read more

I am a huge fan of Westglow, so much so that I make the two hour trip and take everyone there to celebrate events and for weekend getaways. This was my first visit since "the new owners" have taken over and I was a bit disappointed. I have been accustomed to extraordinary customer service, unfortunately that was missing this trip. A friend joined me, and it was her first time at Westglow. During check in the receptionist was anything but friendly or helpful. It was actually awkward. She wasn't excited to show my friend around(which she did reluctantly, however missing several offerings that I know exist) we had to ask for locker keys, and she rolled her eyes when I asked questions regarding our services. We asked about add-ons and she shared that they were not available, however during our service Dakota shared several options with each of us. I was embarrassed that the experience wasn't aligning with my description. I do understand that one person doesn't represent all, however it does set a tone for the day/experience. Please do better!! The prices have increased...I would expect at the very least the same level of service. I will be reluctant to recommend Westglow until I personally experience an improvement in the service provided throughout the spa. read more

First the pros, my massage itself and massage therapist were amazing! And the views are beautiful. A few of us also took advantage of a yoga class which was wonderful. But unfortunately, everything else was sub-par, especially after charging almost the same cost as the service itself to use the meager facilities. We weren't greeted promptly, didn't receive a full tour, and the food bar ran out of food before noon. Our group ending up splitting small containers of chickpea salad three ways after paying extra to use the space for the day. Then an absolute disaster of managing the payments - we were double charged because the deposits we paid weren't being taken out correctly and now three days later, it's still not resolved. Hopefully the new management can work out the kinks because as it stands, I would be hard pressed to return. read more

Had to move rooms after air conditioning in initial room did not work and they don't have a mechanical person on staff so it could not be fixed on day of arrival. Asked to move rooms in late afternoon of second day, back to our original room, after being told we could stay in the new room for the remainder of our stay. Not acceptable! Limited staff(cook was also waiting tables and taking orders) with inefficient service even though they try hard and are very nice. Steam room in spa not working, and supposedly broken for many months, leading to further frustration as I always take a steam after working out and the overall facility was one of the reasons we selected the place . Checked out after two nights of planned four night stay and drove home. The place has lots of potential and the very few people that they have on staff do try very hard. Our stay, however, is one that was riddled with issues and that is all that we have to go on. Anything but the relaxing visit we were so much looking forward to. read more

A great experience here. Attended last week with my friend for a day package. We had access to a sauna, steam room, pool, hot tub, showers, walking trails, a deck with a beautiful view, a one hour massage, a relaxation room, and locker rooms. Make sure you grab the cold washcloths and cucumbers when hanging in the relaxation room. The water is good, too, as they are accompanied by lemon ice cubes. There's also a complete gym and workout room. The day package also included a light, 4-course spa lunch, where you can select your own salad, entree, and dessert. Hot and cold tea is also available and the employees are kind and very attentive. I had a fantastic, relaxing time here, and the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains were picturesque. Of note, I've never been to another spa before so I'm not sure how this compares, but I heard it was one of the top 5 in the country, I believe. read more

I have been a Westglow customer for 20 years. The spa has changed ownership and needs maintenance. In light of that, the customer service is unfortunately lacking as well. That to me is most unfortunate and needs to be addressed immediately. It seems the management model is not streamlined and the multiple ownership model is clunky. I got a facial with Christa and it was the best money I think I've spent in years. She asked me not only about my skin problems and current care routine but also about food allergies, the environment that I live in, etc. in order to get a holistic view of my current situation. She also recommended a couple supplements for my specific needs and a new skincare routine (she usually would only recommend a product or two if needed but I desperately needed to just start over). She gave me the full run down of how to apply the products, what to do in a few weeks time, and what makeup might be better for my skin. She also told me where to buy the products outside of the spa if I wasn't ready to make a purchase that day. Most importantly she gave me direction and hope after struggling with my skin for years! I'm not even a week into my new skincare routine and already see results! I will be coming back to Christa every time I'm in town but I hope she sees this and knows how much she helped me. read more

Nice place but missing good customer service, cleanliness, and fair prices. First time here after reading glowing reviews. Well this place was pretty, had good masseuses, but terrible Customer service. For our full day, we had lunch at 12. We called at 1201 and arrived at 1210 After checking in, we were told that we would have to wait until 1230 to eat because there were other people with reservations at 1230. We went to the manager who fixed it and served us. We were done with entrees by 1230 which was avocado toast. We were at the spa and observed a grand total of 6 people for the entire day. My partner had the hot stone service paid for and on the service list. However, the masseuse swears it wasn't on record and would not give it to my partner. Even though the masseuse said the front was checked, the front desk girl found it on my Bill and removed it. Pool was dirty with mold on tile and one step was broken on the pool side ladder. On the positive side, the massages were top quality. read more

Took away all the specials- lemonade ice cubes, hot teas, the aromatherapy showers - all 3 had NO smells. After seeing the prices at this spa this would not have been my first choice, but alas the decision to come here was not mine. The only way to use the amenities here was to book a spa day package that included a service (facial or massage) and a light lunch for a whopping $225, which is not listed on their website. We had to call to book and pay in advance. Nevertheless, I went with an open mind. Who knows, maybe this spa is that amazing that they can charge this much. Let's break it down. Amenities. Located on a beautiful mountain top with breathtaking views this place has a lot of potential. However, upon entering the spa house it seems as if you are actually at a gym. The large lobby is for some reason full of exercise equipment. The gym vibe follows to the "ladies lounge", although well-stocked with high dollar skin care, is no more than a locker/restroom/shower area. All areas except for the lockers are coed and consist of a modest size 4ft deep pool, 2 4-person hot tubs, 2 small saunas and steam rooms, a nice relaxation room with gorgeous view of the mountains, and 2 decks with lounge chairs and tables. The poolside is well-stocked with a selection of teas, nuts and fruit. The entire area is covered with a white non-slip rubber material which adds to the gym vibe. Everything is very clean besides some pink biofilms on pool stairs. Services. They have the usual selection of spa services such as massages, facials, nails. Even something called a back facial. My friends had massages and were very happy with them. I had a nice and relaxing facial that included a head, neck, shoulders and feet massage. Unfortunately the organic product that was used on me was not exactly compatible with my skin (too heavy, and caused some breakouts later) but getting pampered was nevertheless pleasant. The spa has fitness classes throughout the day (even spin and aqua aerobics), so my friends and I signed up for yoga. It was a vigorous and energetic class that I liked quite a bit. Lunch. The lunch is served from 11am to 2pm, and the menu is concise, but attractive. It consists of a soup, salad, an entree and a dessert that can be offered a la cart it as a four course spa meal. The prices didn't look too high until I saw the portion sizes. They do mean when they say "light lunch". Every section had a gluten-free and a vegan option, which is super considerate and much appreciated. Everything was very tasty, we left satisfied without overeating. Staff. People who work here are really what makes this spa special. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, always very mindful of the guests and always bustling about, keeping the place tidy. I felt very welcome during my entire visit. Overall, this spa is pleasant, albeit a bit overpriced. I had a nice experience, but i'd pick something different next time just because of the amenities/price factor. read more

I communicated several times before the wedding I was not happy with the lack of communication, the timing of email replies, etc. from the wedding coordinator. Things got better after I emailed the GM, but there were still issues and I just sort of gave up and hoped that everything would really be great during the wedding weekend as that's what the coordinator position focuses on. I must say that I was underwhelmed and very disappointed. And, it wasn't just me. My daughter, her mother-in-law, our house guests, the photographer all made several unsolicited comments about how the wedding coordinator was just not available or did not make herself known very often over the weekend. She made reference to how handsome the bandleader was to me and I am not sure I needed to hear that. They no longer offer housekeeping on the weekends anymore. I had to search the utility closets several times both on Friday and Saturday nights, the mother of the bride, to replenish the bathrooms with toilet paper. I couldn't find utensils or plates during the breakfasts and sometimes couldn't find the person who was supporting the breakfasts. And I had asked for extra towels and linens beforehand but had to ask again, of which they were given to us in a plastic laundry basket. The day of the wedding the wedding coordinator said she would be on the premises by 8 am on Saturday, texted to say she would be there by 10 am, did not seek us out, but went to her office instead and I had to ask the caterer to find her for me. She did not make herself known to me or the bride, ask me how things were going really at all during the reception. If I needed her I had to seek her out. The photographer overheard Jen saying she wished people would just leave as it was getting too late. Many people have asked me how the wedding was and would I recommend Westglow. I say the same thing over and over again. The venue is beautiful, the views and setting are absolutely spectacular, but the wedding coordination is poor and the venue cost is very expensive. It's not worth it for the money and all of the work that you personally have to put into the event. You really have to hire a wedding planner beforehand and for the event. read more

The Spa and the view looking over the mountains is amazing. The hotel rooms are reasonable, but nothing extraordinary for this type of accommodations. The restaurant was over priced and below my expectations. I loved walking around the grounds, there is a great view on both sides of the hotel. If the weather is good, you could sit outside all day and just watch the sun rise and fall over the mountains. Overall, the facility is good and the view is great. read more

I had a lot of requests, and the notes they took made sure that every part of this resort knew the requests I had made (mainly that my mom didn't know any prices while we were there). The time and effort they put into booking the type of trip you would like to make is unreal. Ask for Amber, Alexandria, or Faith - they are all amazing. They will plan your trip from top to bottom & make sure you're getting the best deal possible!! If you're interested in spa treatments: Vichy services is a must!! Request Rebecca - she's amazing. She also does massages that will leave you feeling unbelievably relaxed. If you would like a facial (another must) request either Christa or Myra. Christa also does makeup that will make you look better than you did on your wedding day... ;) Salon treatments are as equally amazing. Kristen runs the ship, so if you need anything, make sure she's there! Blake is amazing all around, especially for phenomenal hair & fun conversation. Mandy is great as well! I want to mention the food, but it would take up way too much space. All I will say is: It's not only good for you, but holy crap, it's delicious!!!! Aaron is a great waiter. Yesterday was the end of a perfect wedding weekend that Westglow would have ruined if I had let them. This is a top-notch spa, up there with the best of them. The spa was incredibly clean and modern, with beautiful mountain views and tons of amenities. I was there with a few friends and we made a full day of the spa experience which really makes getting a treatment a great value because you get to enjoy the spa for the whole day. We started off with a workout in the gym and then changed into the soft and plush spa robes to soak up the mountain views in the relaxation room. The relaxation room is amazing - two stories high with bunches of couches and loungers and a fireplace surrounded by a wall of windows over looking the mountains. Oh and there are teas and fruit and magazines and seriously, it is heaven in there. I had a spa facial and even upgraded to include a paraffin wax mask. I've had a number of facials over the years and this was an excellent experience. After the treatments, we had lunch ($20 and worth every penny). Lunch included four small but delicious and beautifully presented courses. Note - you need to reserve lunch ahead of time. After lunch, we changed into bathing suits and relaxed in the heated pool and hot tub until it was getting time to go. Last but definitely not least was a scented shower with everything you need (and more) provided, including some wonderful salt scrub. Westglow Spa is five stars and then some, especially if you come prepared to enjoy all they offer. My sister and I purchased a half day pass to spend the morning at the spa from 8-1. While the massages we received from Cynthia were wonderful, we were very disappointed in the rest of our experience. Overall, this was not worth the $175(x2) that we spent. · The Peloton in the gym (which was highlighted to us on the tour) wouldn't connect to the internet. When my sister went to tell an employee, she was just thanked for flagging, not that anyone would come and fix it or an apology that it wouldn't work · During the tour we were shown the pool, but no one mentioned to us that at 11am there would be a water aerobics class complete with music · I asked to see a menu (because the information in the lockers said that we could make a lunch reservation as long as it was before 9am and there was zero information on the website that said there was no food) but was told there was no lunch on Sundays · When my sister went to follow up to see if there were any snacks we could purchase, we were also told no. The woman at the desk said that there was no food because of Covid. My sister was also told that this information was on the website as well as "well we have to give our chef the day off" · In the whirlpool closest to the woman's locker room, there were both a mosquito and 3 small flies floating in it. We were very much looking forward to this visit/having some relaxation time, but honestly, the day just became a massive frustration. I sent them an email asking to be reimbursed for at the least the spa usage and no one ever responded. read more

I had a spa sampler package and enjoyed the day relaxing at the spa. They have an excellent workout facility with classes. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was also healthy and delicious. Some of the facilities are a little out of date, but everything is clean. My only other complaints: I told them I was allergic to a certain food when I made the reservation and they still included it in two of the four courses, but they made accommodations after I asked. And, my massage was in a room that was off the weight room so it was noisy. read more

Made last minute plans for a stress-relief retreat and never looked back. Nestled in the most beautiful mountains in the world, there is just no place in the globe quite like Westglow. Even though I called literally on the way there, the front desk staff took the time to take special care of me, so thank you Taylor, Mark and Brennan. They even kept the kitchen open late and delivered the first of many amazing 5 course meals to my suite. If the mansion is booked, stay in their off property suites, well worth a little hike across the street. My suite was enormous, serene and sparkly at the same time! How do they do it? I especially loved my hiking guide Cheryl, my manicure guru Amber, all the beautiful and friendly young ladies at the spa-Kelly, Hannah and even my new buddy Eric! The white glove service is delivered without the typical snobbery, you can even eat your 5-star meal in the white fluffy robes they have available in every corner (and most of us did!) Anne served breakfast fit for a princess every day and made me feel like a million bucks! Max eased my stress with her incredible insights and Regina's massage skills are second to none. The citrus scrubby stuff and scented showers are a slice of heaven! Lemon ice cubes and cucumber washcloths.. Could anything be better? Oh yes.. The chocolate truffles on my pillow after turn-down. This place is absolutely gorgeous. The relaxation room is worth your trip alone. I did a one hour facial with Krista who was super sweet and knowledgeable! She gave me some awesome recommendations and tips for skincare with my difficult adult acne. Next I did a one hour massage with Brian. He was good, I asked for a former touch and he definitely delivered. The knot in my neck and back are practically gone. I added a 15 minute foot scrub to my massage and I have to say, it wasn't worth it. The sugar/salt scrub needed some sort of moisture/oil because it was pretty uncomfortable when he was rubbing it into my feet. Overall, this is a great day spa choice for the area, super friendly staff and gorgeous grounds. read more

We have only had spa services but really enjoyed being pampered year after year. The Spa setting is fantastic and the meditation room has a breathtaking view of the blue ridge mountains. Each massage therapist I have had was talented and every meal at the spa delicious while being healthy. The only negatives would be the placement of the weight room as you enter the spa and having to walk through the pool area to get to the meditation room. However, it's a small space and they do alot with what they have. I also think the member sponsored discounts should be offered to the general public. read more

Absolutely phenomenal resort. The staff treated us like royalty. I took my wife up here to get away from the city for a couple of days and could not have been more surprised. From the moment they hold the door open for you until you get in your car to leave, they take care of you. The grounds are well taken care of, the views are beautiful, but the staff is what made this resort fabulous. We wanted to watch the world cup in the library, and they brought us out sparking water and a cheese and fruit tray. The rooms are vintage beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't use the spa facilities, but we were given a tour and it looks very nice. We did have dinner at Rowland's, the restaurant in the mansion. It was easily the best meal we have had in Blowing Rock. Heck, it was one of the best meals we've had in recent history. Thank you so much! read more
