This is not a stone and dust dog park, it's a beautiful green grass dog park!!! There are 2 water fountains and an acre for dogs to run and play. My dogs love coming here and the people who come here are very nice. The grass is kept up with and everyone picks up after their dogs. I've been coming here for a while now and it doesn't disappoint.

Huge expansive field with multiple entrances, dog bags, toys neatly organized and on this 90 degree morning plenty of bottled water. This is the cleanest and largest grass dog park I've been to, with the Duke St one coming in second because of how swampy it gets. I'd like to come here more often, but it's tucked away on the east side of Alexandria and took a couple loopy highways to get there. Dogs and people were friendly. They have an agility jump and what looks to be a ramp for a taste of agility training. With how well cared for the grass is they could use a sprinkler or two for the pups on hot days. Excellent field for ball play, plenty of toys to play with.

Ted and his hard ass orange ball! PS...don't kick the ball.

Me, Roger, Ted and Mr. Pickles love, love, love this park...and watching it grow! We've been coming here for 5 years-ish...great running area...on grass! There are a team of volunteers that work very hard to expand the park, with more shade, less mud, water fountain for dogs...etc. Big plans for this little park!~ They also have HOT DOG FRIDAY NIGHTS (in the summer) with homemade desserts! Usually from Mellissa, resident baker. :) All in all it's a perfect place to bring your dogs to socialize... and you too!

Claims to have a little dog park but the gate is open so my dog doesn't have anywhere fun to play. It's annoying and selfish

Best dog park in Northern Virginia because it's the only park with real green grass! Very friendly dogs and people!

You don't have to live in the Carlyle area to use this park! Also a tip, Mill Rd. turns into Andrews Ln.--once you see the Residence Inn Marriott on your left and the Carlyle Towers on your right, keep going down that road! I wouldn't recommend using the water fountains (though they rarely work) because there's always something funky in the bowl there. So bring your own water! I agree with other reviews, the pebble gravel in the small dog area is pretty bad and I'm sure it can be difficult to maneuver for some. There are a few parking spaces but they are shared with the tennis courts that are right next to the dog park. My dog has had a few good experiences here, mostly in the small dog park area. We tried out the bigger dog area the first few times and it did not work out for him because a lot of the larger dogs liked to gang up on him. That isn't the park's fault. Just like every other dog park, we should always be aware of our dogs' safety and happiness.

It's one of those hidden gems!…read more Great place to walk / hang out Great place to walk around, play basketball, chalk art the sidewalks, have a picnic. Located below the I-495 -Woodrow Wilson Bridge, the park is right at the southernmost point and great water views of Virginia and sites within Maryland like the National Harbor across the Potomac River. There is a walking trail along the river with informational signs and displays that describe the really cool, informative information markers of sights and the past history of the area along the trail. A 10-minute walk on the trail will bring you to other parks (Ford's Landing, Shipyard, and Roberdeaux) and eventually to Old Town Alexandria with its many shops and restaurants --situated along the water. Another added plus is that the park offers a place for fishing, playgrounds, basketball courts, and multi-use fields. I came here with some friends for the first time and had a relaxing time just being outdoors and enjoying this great space in nature. We grabbed a picnic table....while having lunch and taking in the weather. Between the space and multi-use areas, it is the perfect spot to for walks along the river, running, exercising or simply....raking time to put things on pause and enjoy the outdoors. ELITE TIP: It is a good place to park if you are planning to visit Old Town Alexandria and want an easy place to park.....without having to deal with the limited street parking, risk of parking meter tickets or the high price garage parking. and enjoy a walk along the river.

It's best to go early. Plenty of benches and covered areas for comfort while in the sun. Great place to walk with your dog or go on a date. There were also other places you could park further down the walk if you don't want to start at the end near the bridge. Lovely walk that I would enjoy doing again.

We have a lot of experience with the various groomers in this area and in Old Town proper. None of them can compare to the service that we received from Saoirse at The Dog Park at 705 King Street. She was receptive to our needs (we have a shy Shetland Sheepdog, Grace), and she is so easy to work with. Her finished groom was OUTSTANDING, and everyone in The Dog Park was friendly and outgoing (unlike many groomers here in town). Very fair pricing, a gentle and loving attitude from Saoirse, and a wonderful finish for our little girl makes giving The Dog Park and Saoirse a much deserved 5 Star rating!

I understand that things happen but what really made me upset is the dismissiveness of the situation. I called and spoke to an employee about the situation and he advised me to email pictures of my dog's face. I did so to his email address twice and a general email address, and I never got a response. Even if he did I not get the emails (not sure how he could have not), some type of follow up would have been considerate. I don't appreciate the incident with my dog being dismissed, especially since I paid $140 for his grooming. I would have appreciated more kindness in the situation. I will not return and have found a new groomer.
