The first man we met was John Adams. He was polite and very helpful throughout our car-buying experience. He never pushed us or hurried us. He was open and honest and it felt like he was really there to help us get the right vehicle and not just trying to make a sale. The next man was Jeremy and he was the closer. All the paperwork went through him. He was very helpful and explained everything so we could understand it. We also appreciated his fun sense of humor which made things easier. I bought a Hyundai santa fe from carvilles and 2 months into owning it the engine seized. I tried getting warranty to cover it because I paid extra for the warranty and still owed 1,600 dollars to the shop for the replacement. At the time of signing I wanted to buy gap insurance but the finance guy I dealt with told me "I don't believe in selling people things they don't need" well, now said car is totaled from someone hitting me head on and I still owe around $3,000 on it and don't have a job anymore. I bought a 2015 dodge challenger RT from them a month ago, they told me it had new breaks and everything and that the car was completely serviced well it wasn't, my breaks completely went out going to salt lake I went in was very professional, trying to get the problem resolve, well they asked for the old parts since I had to replace them myself so I brought them to them as I did the other rear break that I did not touch or replace completely blew up, the mechanic himself said they lied to me and it was even in the notes for the car that it was done but never did, I almost killed someone a cop even followed me to the dealership, to make sure I was good well me being pissed off I was still very professional and the mechanic that was there even confirmed the problem well, the manger an maintenance manager both then refused to fix it and was trying to find any reason to avoid fixing it when I bought a warranty that should have covered it, well then the maintenance manager started screaming at me and then laid hands on me and the entire time acted like a child, DO NOT buy from them AT ALL they're horrible let them sink, there's a very good reason 80% of the sales people and workers have left them. including managers. This is the most crooked, dishonest car dealership I've ever (regrettably) done business with. They tell you that they do a thorough inspection on all of the cars that come in, and that's a total lie. I've even heard from previous employees that they don't inspect anything and they people there are very aware they're selling lemons. The Jeep Wrangler I recently purchased from them had the brakes fail on the freeway on numerous occasions, along with some other issues. Sold me a 2001 Chevy Silverado with a bunch of little things here and there not covered under warranty and wouldn't back down on price while it also had a good amount of mileage on it. On top of this, Jason, their title clerk won't contact me after leaving numerous messages for getting an update on my title. I requested a new one, due to the original getting lost in the mail and now I'm up against the clock to get my vehicle legally registered because I have no title. It's understandable if it takes time to have a new title drawn up, but receiving no communication is just downright aggravating. They also seem keen to get in touch with you to ONLY change bad feedback they receive and back track to make themselves look like they're in the right by commenting and negating against valid negative feedback. I was told by the seller that all cars are serviced by them before they put it on the lot. He told me as a matter of fact, so I believed him. I bought the car, drove back to Montrose. On the trip home, warning lights started to come on. Took it to an auto shop in Montrose, and they told me ( and took photos) of bolts that hold the suspension were half way out. I mean something serious could have happened on that drive back. When test driving, there was a car manual. When I got home the manual was not in the glove box. I asked the shop to rotate the tired and there was no lock for the lug nuts. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! There was a deal to get a new windshield because of a crack. I'm not one to hurry to send in a bad review on anything but I've reached my limit! We purchased a 2017 Yukon Denali in September. Mind you, we paid top dollar for it...and waited in the office for nearly 5 hours while they "checked with their manager" in our negotiations. I had a strong urge to just get up and leave about the last hour. Should have followed my instincts. On the test drive it felt a little rough. Went back and they checked it out. Said it needed a motor mount that they would replace. They did that. We asked if they would please just check the transmission, just in case it was the problem. They said they would. We went ahead with the sale (mistake). It got a new transmission. Good thing we purchased the after market warranty. This was within a week of purchase. I thought this would be Carville's charge but they used our warranty. Fine! Oh, and when we were looking at the car we asked our salesperson if it went through the 100+ check point as advertised in their ads. He said of course. All our cars go through that. When we went into their service department wondering why we now need a new transmission if they had it checked out the woman at the front desk said, Oh no, this car came in on the truck and went right on the lot and then you bought it. It never got checked out. (We have this on a recording. I think at this point that could be very handy. We shall see). Since then the info center/entertainment screen went black. It will go on, then go off for a few days, on for a few days, etc. Had the whole module replaced. Thought that solved it. Picked it up on Wednesday and today it went out again. Back to the shop it goes. Three weeks ago there was no cold air. Took it in (not to Carville's) and they found a small leak. Put in new freon. Today...no cold air. That's okay. It's only 99 degrees today. I'm so DONE with this fiasco. Wish I could get my money back but that won't happen (at least not at this point). We shall see. I'm beyond frustrated. So...never again. Horrible experience! Bought car and ONE week to the day the clutch went out. It was a used car so some issues to be expecting but this is a $2700.00 fix. Called to talk to Manager and of course he was unavailable, left message and was told he would call me back in 15/20 minutes. That was 6 days ago. NOTHING! Called their service department and they recommended a shop for us to take it too, ask if they were picking up the bill. That was 5 days ago and NO return call. I was lied to and told the Scion would not be able to be financed as it had some hail damage. Told him I would be driving up in the morning to see it and the distance I was driving (3 hours) The moment I walked in Gee informed me it was sold that night I called. He didn't call to inform me before I drove up. Then immediately passes me off to his assistant to walk the lot and look at other cars. After looking at and testing two. I asked what else they might have. She informed me it was close to lunch and I could walk the yard gave me her cell number "if I had questions" and left me to wander around looking at prices on my phone. Frustrated, I walked back in with four staff standing at the front desk. No greeting, can I help you... nothing. I walked over to Gee's office no Gee, no assistant. I picked up my belongings from the office and walked back by the four staff without a word from any of them. Got in my vehicle drove just down the road and purchased a vehicle from Grand Valley Auto. They found that whoever fixed the thing last (obviously not me...Auto Mart) completely rigged the oil pan to stay in place. Left me, my two kids, and my brother stranded in Utah for TWO DAYS! No reimbursement from the warranty, they only will pay $3,000 for the engine and want ME to cover the rest, which is $5200 total...so $2,200 for something I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH. I'm so unbelievably pissed off at this company. You can guarantee there WILL be a lawsuit. I pay over $295 a month with a $500 deposit AND they took my OLD VAN! Who got screwed here? Carvilles sold me a defective vehicle. I have spent the last two months trying to get it diagnosed. Once it had been at their shop, Shurms, and then the dealership finally found out the problem. Carvilles said they would fix, but then took my vehicle back to Shrums. It has been in their possession for over 3 weeks and I have no idea when I might get it back. Carviles is offering nothing in compensation. I even had to pay for my own diagnostic out of my pocket. Service manager is shady and has a problem returning phone calls. Told us to keep driving it and to bring it back if it had the issue again. A few weeks later it broke down, engine seized because there was zero oil in the vehicle. While I was arguing with the manager I called an employee a liar, first he threatened me with violence and when I said I was going to call the police he and another employee assaulted me while forcing me out of the building because I was trespassing on private property. Carville sold us a car with 2 different sized rear tires, then tried telling us that this will not effect the car in any way! (note that is is dangerous to brake heavily in this scenario, and we live in a state with a lot of mountains.) They guaranteed us a vehicle in good condition, yet we are having to replace the alternator and all 4 tires within a month. We tried to talk to them to see if they would help at all with any of these costs considering it is such a recent purchase, and they offered to sell us a $2000 warranty, which would cover any further problems, but not the ones that already happened! Don't ever buy a car from Carville bought the car right off the lot no payments nothing and still waiting for the title that they lost. I had this car for almost a year and I'm still having to go to the DMV to renew my title because they lost it. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Thursday morning did the credit app over the phone. Thursday afternoon, I was contacted again by Derek to say I was approved for the vehicle I inquired about and could come anytime. Friday morning, contacted Derek to set up Saturday to complete transaction, as dealership is 2.5 hrs. away from my home. Showed up Saturday, he tells me car was sold the nite before. Offers to show me additional vehicles I qualify for. The 1st one had 209000 miles on it and my original approval was for twice the horsepower and odometer was at 117xxx. All for the same price! He continued to point out "similiar" cars I qualified for from the back. They were dented, dirty, and obvious replacement parts were not installed to even line up. I expressed hesitation and disappointment over original "deal" not happening. He offered me 2 others to look at an left to take a call. When he returned, I said id test drive the better of the 2, he said i didnt qualify for that one due to a 400 dollar price difference. Never asked if Icould pay it, which I could have but at this point walked away disappointed and disgusted. It cost me 100 bucks to get a ride the 150 miles one way to go get the car I was promised, and it wasent even there! What a rude, senseless act of scandalistic salesmanship. If this is how you have to get business, Ill share my story as far and wide as it takes to hold you and your company accountable. As if we arent already suffering enough today! We purchased a new motor home from Carville's and the overall purchase experience wasn't bad but there were several minor issues we asked them to fix prior to delivery. The repairs were poorly made, including the use of duct tape to secure wheel well liner, or they weren't done at all. We used the motor home for the summer and dropped it off in the fall for winterization and several warranty repairs. They held onto the vehicle for 8 weeks before finally calling to advise that it was ready to be picked up. We picked up the motor home, only to find that they failed to winterize it. We called to complain and ask for a hasty winterization and were advised that their service department is closed and that they had "no idea why it wasn't done." Lucas (Luke) was unwilling to help in any way and played the clueless idiot card, which I believe is actually quite fitting of this unintelligent young man. The staff has a habit of "passing the buck", blaming other departments but not resolving issues. I highly recommend that you avoid Carville's at all cost. Their service is terrible and they do not accept responsibility for their own mistakes. read more

Worst experience dealing with a car dealer, EVER! Started by them offering a variety of vehicles, get there and there's really only one that fits what we'd already said we want to pay. Test drive it, find seat belt broken, hole drilled in the gas tank, no spare tire, broken rear shocks. They promise to fix. Husband wants truck, wife doesn't. We sign the original contact, realize that seat belt and spare tire are not listed on repair promise. Why? It's illegal to sell a car without a seat belt, maybe? Sales person has put fake names on our application for references. Because of wife's medical condition, husband signs papers, bring to wife to sign in the hospital. Wife notices fake names, refuses to sign until papers are fixed. They fix the seat belt without a problem, make the husband pay for gas tank leak kit and shocks, saying he'll be reimbursed. Dump a full tank of gas out, promise to replace. Can't find a gas card. Finally, after several days of almost constant harassment, papers are fixed. They want bank statements. First say not necessary, then they want. First set faxed. Not good enough. Second set, emailed. Not good enough. Third set, from the bank.. Not good enough. Finally mailed bank statements are accepted. Whew. Same information as first set provided, weeks ago. Admin gives bank the wrong mailing address and phone number. We never hear from the bank until rebecca admits they gave wrong number. Husband calls wrong number, guy tells him that the bank calls day and night, although he said he's not "KC." Bank rescinds offer. They want husband to come back in and redo papers. Wife tells the owner that she wants nothing to do with the deal and if they want to do papers for husband alone, go for it. Owner said repairs done were not approved, accuses husband of going to another mechanic and forgetting. Husband goes in, is very sick. They hold him there ALL DAY LONG. They screw with him, letting him think that he can get a car that fits his family better, then deny. Then approve. Then deny. Husband leaves with papers signed and is told wife needs to sign for deal to go thru. Wife looks at paperwork. Income is wrong. Job is wrong. Time at residence is wrong. Mailing address listed for couple is same mailing address for bank in California. Wife refuses to sign fraudulent papers and efforts are made to return the truck. We are threatened with jail. We are threatened with physical assault. We contact a lawyer to make arrangements to settle on the contract and return the vehicle. Attorney said to mail keys and park truck in a common area where it's safe. At 5 am, we're awakened by someone sneaking around the property. He can't find the truck. It's not here. Wife and husband both have severe combat PTSD and they were warned not to aggravate, the repossession driver could have found himself staring down the barrel of two guns. If they had just called, without threats, they'd already have the stupid tin can of a piece of crap little oompah loompah truck back without incident. Son in law bought a truck from Carville, head lights don't work. They refuse to fix that. There are good car dealers in Grand Junction. We got exactly what we wanted down the street. Don't go to Carville unless you really want to aggravate your life and throw money away. There is a group working to close them down. I pray they are successful. read more

So I've been checking on it over the passed week to see when it was done. And this morning I drove by and saw it on the Lot finally, but I didn't get a call from anyone. So I called and explained my situation and somebody put me on hold to find the person that said they would do this for me. After 17 minutes of being on hold I decided to hang up and call again because I'm pretty sure you forgot about me. So I called again and explained my situation, AGAIN, and was transferred to a nice lady named Rose that apologized for what had happened and scheduled me for 5:00pm today. So I drive from Fruita very excited to test drive a car that I'm really wanting to purchase and when I show I see it out front ready for a test drive (like she said it would be) and I go inside and ask for Rose, but it turns out she's not there, so a salesman (I believe his name is Bob) takes my ID and takes me out to the car, he seemed confused so he went inside and comes back out to tell me that the car sold... The car that I had an appointment to come test drive and had a separate salesman "calling me the second it hits the lot." I knew you guys had a bad reputation but I decided to put that behind me because you had the car I wanted to buy and then you treat me like that and waste an hour of my time and energy, not to mention get me pretty excited. You all should really work on your customer service and keep your ducks in a row because it seems like a giant mess. That being said, I will never come back and I will make sure to tell everyone I possibly can about my experience so they too won't waste time and energy just for a slap in the face like that. read more

My family has been purchasing from this car lot since I was 14 years old(I'm now almost 24) when we moved first moved to Colorado in2009. My first car purchase was smooth and exciting when my dad took me at 18 and I got a great deal because my parents had bought cars and stayed loyal to them previously. Fast forward to my next 2 car purchases without my dad at 21 and 23 years old along with buying my husbands first car from them- we were told that we were approved for vehicles with specific miles that were through specific years and I didn't remember there being any specifics during my last purchase but I trusted the dealership because they had been so good to us before(1st mistake). After we purchased mine and my husband's vehicles in 03/2018 and 07/2018, I called our finance companies and asked them why it had to be so specific because we got vehicles that we weren't ecstaic about and nothing like what we had walked in looking for but that we liked and they said they NEVER gave specifics for the car that we could get JUST THE LOAN AMOUNT. Come to find out that is because the salesmen are trying to get rid of specific vehicles to turn a profit and that's what the managers told them to give us instead of the loan amount like the financing institutions gave them and should have told us. A week after purchasing my last vehicle my brakes started to act weird, called the dealership with them taking a look at it and saying nothing was wrong. Finally after another week and almost getting into a wreck at 6 months pregnant because it was nearly impossible to push the brakes in hard enough and quick enough to stop the car, my husband threatened to sue because the brake booster had been out and had needed to be replaced for quite awhile and had been "rigged" to last longer from what the mechanics at the Ford Dealership had told us. Carvilles finally took the car back and replaced the booster within that 3rd week finally. Not even a few months later my brother was pulled over after purchasing a car from Carvilles and was almost arrested because they never turned in the paperwork for the bill of sale or title(I can't remember which) to the appropriate state agency therefore making it look like my brother stole the car. My brother had to work with the DA to have his name cleared ending with Carvilles getting hit with a huge fine. Never again will we buy from this dealership and they lost 7 good customers between me and my family. I used to recommend people to them all the time as did my dad and grandparents. Now we warn people to stay away from them at all costs. read more

Bought a 2010 Pontiac back in April. Engine is running great. My problem with this dealer ship is they never offered me a second set of keys... I thought that was normal when you buy a car. Also they knowingly sold this car to me knowing the alarm is faulty! Nothing worse than waking up at 3am with a blaring alarm! Will I buy another car from these guys? Absolutely not! read more

Carville completely screwed my husband and I over. I purchased my vehicle from them back in October 2015. The PT Cruiser (Loser) that I bought from them worked just fine for the first couple of months that I owned the car and then BAM! My car started having problems and overheating. We had to get a rental car so that we could go out of town in February and celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary because we couldn't take the car that we had just bought from Carville. The first time I took my car in they said that I had a bad radiator and fixed it. Two days later my car overheated again so I had to schedule another appointment to have it fixed. It took them forever to get me in again and I had almost hit my limit on miles for my warranty. They said that it was a bad radiator hose and now my car was fixed. A couple of weeks later my car started to smoke when I started it and every time that I accelerated. I called them again and they sent me to a different shop to have my car diagnosed. They had my car for a week and didn't care that I had to find a ride to and from work every day. The place I took it to said that it was a bad turbo, and the warranty that was purchased on the car specifically excluded the turbo, but I would be okay to drive my car. They said that it would be a little messy, would have to fill my car with oil all the time because the turbo is oil cooled, and I would be a little smoky. I tried to call the service manager for a week and never received a return call. At this point my miles are up on my warranty, but I still have to drive my car because I don't have any other way to get to work. I felt defeated and wanted to give up. I called again and still no one calls me back. After a few more weeks go by and my car is getting worse I called the service center again. Their manager tells me that she can work some kind of deal out with me and to bring it in a couple of days. When my husband goes to drop the car off they act like they have no idea why he is there and treats him terribly. I had to call and talk to the service manager again and she tells me that they are going to diagnose the car for the fourth time. She tells me that my turbo was not bad and that I had a leaky gasket valve. She tells me again that they have fixed my car and that it has stopped smoking. She also mentions that they will need to put a hose on my car the following week to complete the services. She even told me that I should be able to use my car without a problem. Now I have a car that will not run! I can't even take it to the shop, we can't get to and from work. I tried calling the service center again, NO RESPONSE, tried calling a manager at Carville, NO RESPONSE, I tried talking to the person that sold me the car. She tells me that she needs to get authorization from her manager to trade my crappy car for possibly another crappy car and that she will call me back, but once again NO RESPONSE. I called again the next morning and talked to an office manager at Carville. She tells me that she is going to have her general manager call back when he gets in at 10:00 am. Well, I got the same response as every other time, which was NOTHING! I would never recommend them to anyone. What a terrible experience followed by terrible customer service. If you are thinking of buying a car from them, erase that thought and run in the opposite direction! read more
